Awesome or even Magical
Awesome or even Magical - if there was to be one word to describe my 24 years relationship with DCU. I have banked with many banks in many countries (my work has made me travel and live in different countries at times). But the one bank and one banking experience that stands out is DCU. Always at the forefront of good and useful technology adoption that makes sense for my needs, always at the lowest banking cost levels, always a great customer service, fast availability to my money (2 days in advance paycheck; same day check money available even when deposited through the app), and the ease of use and completion of information within the app, ease of getting to a customer service rep if/when required; lowest APR credit card and always no balance transfer fee - the list of DCU’s awesomeness is endless. I can’t think of a single thing that I have been disappointed by in my relationship with DCU over 24 years (twenty four years and zero complaints!) - Isn’t that DCUsome!!!

There are credit unions, and then there is DCU
I’m a 43 year satisfied and priud member of Digital Credit Union. ( ouch, thats a ling time for me…😏 ). All my $$ checking, savings and money market accounts are exclusively handled by DCU. Same for all types of loans over the years, including car, personal, home equity, etc. All the above should tell you a LOT about how good DCU is … and NOT just how loyal of a member i am. So i’ll dispense with - and save you from — drawn out further effusive commentary. Oh…one more thing: DCU members (whether F2F in branches or ‘vittially’) are always friendly, helpful, courteous, professional and efficient. So they must all be happy and satisfied with DCU, too.😁. (Yes…I’ve been a member if other credit unions in the past — federal/military ones mostly).

Glitching in IOS
I love DCU, been using them for almost 15 years or so. And the app has been fair enough, the updates and changes and o haul have been refreshing and useful to the client, However I’ve been finding that my widget for DCU app unfortunately doesn’t show up on my phone and Home Screen, it’s a simple green square not the usual quick account balance. While No affect to my account nor my ability to log in; it still won’t show my quick balance in any of the widgets feature on my Home Screen no matter how many times I delete the app, reset my phone or clear any cache or data that I thought could be affecting the performance! This was one of my FAVORITE features within the app and allowed me a fast convenient way to view of all my accounts without having to go open my phone swipe to the app and log in. But alas no more! Until they update this app apparently!! But it doesn’t seem like that is even remotely on the horizon!

Better than the bank
I’ve had DCU since my folks started my account over 20 years ago when I was about 8. Never ever have I had an issue and they have been nothing but the best, God’s honest truth. Between the DCU app or going to the location near me in Worcester, always the best & quick & easy. I’m very glad to openly grovel for them because they earned it. They call me whenever they think a charge is suspicious, even if it wasn’t, but they’re being safe and looking out. Actual banks can go to you-know-where, credit unions are the best & DCU is the gold standard at that. Consider me a for lifer. On a last note, their change machine rules and is very clutch. Glitches
I’ve been a DCU member for quite sometime, and with the implementation of the new app it has caused some inconvenient glitches. For example, I woke up with -82 cents when the night before I had a decent amount of money in my free checking account. This is shown in my transaction history but is not reflected in my available balance and total balance (including my savings account). I had made no transactions that would cause me to be in the negatives so I hope I won’t be penalized and charged an overdraft fee. This has been a consistent problem that has usually worked itself out in at most a few days but it still is very stressful because I lose access to my hard earned money out of fear of over drafting. I’ve had a similar problem with e-depositing checks where it is approved but wont have access to the money for days.

On line and inside the Bank
Very helpful when i need help to understand. Plus's i can see all the transactions i made. If i see one i don’t recognize. I just head to the mank to look into it. Inside the Bank very friendly and always giving me answers questions i have. The only thing i disappointed is that the don’t have the touch card like other banks do. I’m a gem phobic. Touching the pen or touch the screen or pin pad is gross. Please please can we have this service on are debit card.. i wish when i have a order from ober eats they reach out . I don’t have an account. Just need if its one of my kids. So i can make up my mind if i agree to it

Used to be awful - Still not perfect but much better
Never write reviews but I love DCU and feel like the app is important to whether people join or not. To be honest, the app used to be garbage. It was buggy and slow and always froze, but in the last year or two it’s gotten a lot better. It’s still not perfect - One thing I hate is if you deposit a check or transfer money into the account you usually have to sign out and sign back in to see your new balance. Other than that I can’t think of anything else negative with the current version.

My family and I have been banking with Dcu for 10+ years. During that time we have purchased vehicles,our home and put two daughters through college. We recommend banking with them on the basis they are extremely family friendly. My daughters first accounts were connected to ours through Dcu and as they got older they had the where with all and understanding of resources available and banking processes. We thank DCU for their continued dedication and reliability to our family .

Phone fraud
Recently I received a phone call claiming they were DCU. They claimed someone was trying to get in my account. I did not give them my account number, password or pin, yet they were able to get into my account. After the call I called DCU to check the legitimacy of the call and they said it was not DCU but a fraudulent call. We then proceeded to create a new pin and passcode. In the mean time we found out they had already tried to send money from my account and attach a wall mart credit card to my account. The DCU representative assisted me in deleting these transactions. Why were they able to so easily get into my account without my password and pin? Presently I live in constant fear now that I will loose all my savings. , if not more.

Better when…
I liked it better when, on the screen that lists all my accounts , it showed the number of the account next to the name. For example, next to my primary savings it had the number 1; next to my primary checking it had the number 2, and so on. Because I have multiple checking accts, by seeing the number is easier to know which particular checking it is without having to click on it to see the number.

Wrong credit card balance due displayed
For four months I was under the impression that there is $0 due balance on my DCU Visa credit card because I never used dcu visa credit card in last six months, there was interest accumulated on the balance due from the month of August. Apparently dcu mobile app does not display the credit card total balance due amount in the Home Screen once you login. Only when you tap on the credit card section of Home Screen and navigate into DCU Visa details section then only you will see the actual required payment due shown as not $0. Due to this bug in the app I was penalized. I learnt this only after receiving postal mail from DCU that there is a balance due on my DCU visa credit card.

Great Experience
Been using your services I believe getting close to 40 years. I’ve always gotten amazing services when I’ve reached out to Customer Service, applying for loans and even referring my children. Also, security has been on the ball in alerting us and or stopping frauds. Ive appreciated the simple process that we always had. Hoping it stays this way. Good bank, Very poor software
Since DCU changed over their software in March 2022 things have been a disaster. They did not get user feedback before switching the software, did not user test before the change, the change took 2 weeks of no access (on the 1st of the month, bill due times), and was missing key functionality when launched. They continue to not test before frequent updates to both this mobile app and the web based interface. Tax forms were missing for long periods at tax time and still have issues. Account statements were missing for months and some still are. Automatic transfers sometimes are not completed. The bill payer function does not always work with scheduled payments not being sent. You can’t type a $ or . or , or / or - or anything except a letter in a memo field making it hard to note what checks and transfers are for. There is much more and I could go on, but you get the idea of how bad it is!

Always Great service
I have been with DCU for many years. Even when I moved to the South they continued to be my financial institution of choice despite not living near a single branch., but I could function successfully at any partnership. DCU is also very helpful with their money management offers and loans. I have to say I have never had a better financial group than them by far.

Confusing surface
I really have issue with the surface. I have a lot of transactions going on - I can hardly see, what is what. I also don’t like the way the check deposit work. After a long time I noticed where I can see when the check got accepted or rejected. Yes, it tells me most of the time right away. But I still discovered an extra column with the listed checks… it wasn’t so obvious at first glance. I don’t know but maybe extra colors would be helpful by the transactions so I can see immediately which ones are important which not so much.

App is slow
The app has been very slow and it’s impossible to scroll through transactions without it popping back up to the top of the list every time you scroll down. Whenever I transfer money or do any task it takes 2-3 mins and sometimes cannot complete the transaction and I have to start all over again. Also would like to be able to see scheduled payments. I can’t see if I scheduled my credit card or car payment and it will let you double schedule payments.

Meh
At first I liked them a lot - but then without warning stopped allowing overdrafts. I have ZERO problem them doing this - they are a business after all. My issue is they did it without warning. They have communication issues. And doesn’t make it Much difference if you’ve been with them for a bunch of years (I’m a good customer- I took out lg. loan and paid back on full on time & pay credit card). They’re basically like any other bank. Not as bad as Bank of America- who are horrible- I’ll throw them that bone.

So easy and convenient
Literally the best banking and loan app I’ve ever used. You can link in savings and checking accounts that you have with other banks to see what you have. You can easily transfer money from one account to the other even when it’s from a different bank. Setting up autopay for loans it’s very easy and truly seamless.

Transfer limits
Your app is very easy to use. The only issue I’ve had so far was when trying to transfer funds from another institution. Initially I couldn’t transfer amounts without it telling me the amounts were too high - even $200 at one point. Now it lets me transfer $500 but I still don’t know what the max transfer limit is.

Best Credit Union
I highly recommend DCU! My fiancé got it a few years back. We shared the account. I finally got my own. We love it so much! They do great at organizing things. We also have our financial planner with Facet Wealth. They are great as well! And they just work well together. Facet recommended us to DCU and there had been no regrets since! ☺️❤️

Love the online banking and bill pay
I use bill pay each and every month to pay all my bills from one place do later it’s easy to track. I plan ahead post the payment and it happens automatically in the giving date My only reason for not giving a higher rating is I have a citicorp (huge financial firm) account that DCU still mails my check !!! Several times my payment to them gets lost and winds up arriving late costing me late fees Soooooooo frustrating

The app does not remember the device
Every login requires a mfa, although I have the recognize this device turned on. Its a security feature totally cool but it would be great to be able to just login with faceid. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Does not work. It’s a minor bug but something to look into. Please check these functions for iphone users. Other features are great though.

Needs External Transfers
So far I like the app. But like some other Credit Unions the app lacks the ability to transfer to and from my other financial institutions. This seems like such a basic function. Update: My bad. I did not look far enough. However I would like the ability to change the nicknames of my external accounts. Thank you.

I’ve been a DCU customer for over 40 years . This credit union has been with me by providing financial advice and support with 2 mortgages and 3 car loans , credit and savings accounts. I couldn’t be more pleased with their customer service both in person and over the phone. Cathie De.

We still need to make some improvements. One improvement is rerun functionality that was I the previous product. On scheduled payments, we need to bring back the total for the month of scheduled payments. So we don’t overspend for the month. We need to list in interest rate paid on CDs, savings accounts, and money market accounts.

Really understands how to bank online
DCU has proven many times they understand how to get mobile banking right, easy to pay bills, move money, get the notification level you are comfortable with, and a amazing fraud protection team. Also really appreciate the refunded service charges at ATMs.

20+ years loyal customer
Been with DCU since around 2002. No one would give me credit due to bad decisions as a young adult! But not only did DCU give me a car loan they also gave me $1,000 CC. They’ve been so good to me the only bad thing I can say is their debit cards don’t have to wireless contactless option! Once they do that they’re the super best, lol!!!

Mostly good but needs some improvement
Couple of problem points: 1. When viewing account statements on mobile in pdf form, there is no clear option to either Download the document or to print/share. 2. Adding certain banks still causes loss of communication and does not update info.

Thank you so much for improving BILL pay. I found it extremely frustrating to use prior to the latest changes. So much so I even considered leaving DCU, and we’ve been members since 1984 (?). I always loved DCU, and been extremely loyal, but the new updated app a couple of years ago was very difficult to navigate. I’m glad we stuck with DCU, now that you fixed the bill pay.

I liked when I could Move Money between my accounts and other accounts that I’m linked to. “Move Money”. “Pay A Person” should be accounts that I’m not linked to. Writing a check or other means of paying a random person.

Update to 5 stars: Make sure your VPN isn’t running in the background!!!!
Worked fine until yesterday. I was getting network error. I blamed the app. Then other apps has issues. Researched and voila! My vpn was sneekily turned on in the background! Network error? Make sure your vpn is off.

Car loan
I had such an easy time getting ahold of a live rep made my life easy. Super friendly and made sure I knew all the steps and correct way to get thru them. Everything was smooth and the help was amazing. Would recommend this bank 10/10

I became a member in my teens and I’ve never looked back. They have helped me every step of the way. Even when I moved across the country, I kept them as my main bank because online is so easy to use and I didn’t want to go To any other bank or credit union

Great Banking App. !!
Have been using DCU for decades now and they were one of the first banks to include online bill pay and then additional deposit features etc. I don’t have to go to a bank now to carry out my usual day to day transactions!! Thank you DCU for all that you do!!

Buggy App
Still not ironed out all the issues. Couple of issues that i found today are: 1. Login from the app fails repeatedly. Same worked nicely from browser. 2. I used the app on an iPad with touch ID enabled. If a customer has two accounts with DCU and each of them have touch ID enabled the app is not able to switch between accounts.

iPhone 13 mini layout issue
The current bill pay doesn’t dynamically adjust for iOS screen sizes. I must scroll right to see the calendar within bill pay Otherwise no issues

Wonderful experience 17 years , never visited branch
I have taken several car loans , made certificate deposits , let them mature or at times even take pre-mature withdrawal, never had any issue . The ATM fees refund feature is just awesome too . Never paid to withdraw from my DCU .

Simple banking
Simple banking. Have been using this bank since college. They aren’t giving out loans to just anyone. Especially Credit score under 640. Attempted to get a small travel trailer and was denied. Haven’t tried to get a credit card. Only use savings and checking. Good dividends for those accounts.

Love DCU I’ve had 5 banks in my lifetime and I’m 61 I’ve never had such great service, advice, assistance when I have a senior moment lol! All the other banks I’ve had don’t come close to the pleasure of DCU. Polite, professional, and treat everyone no matter your financial status the same with respect!

I’ve been with this bank for 18 years now. Well it’s a bank I don’t expect much but they are very good with lots of benefits to be a member. I’m happy with the bank. They could be better for sure but I’m happy so far.

Login issues
I would give this 5 stars but when I went to login tonight, using the password I auto saved for it, I got told my account has been locked and to reset the password to login. I did that, and I got the same message. Don’t know if it’s a technical issue or what, but it needs to be fixed.

Less than awful is an improvement
I use the iPad app for bill pay which is awkward at best. The procedure is full of confusing steps so I have to keep going back and starting over. But compared to the original reboot a year or ago it’s better. Bad is better than terrible.
