Digimon Card Game Tutorial App

Been looking to get into DIGIMON tcg and found this tutorial; there are two, teach you how to play levels and three full battles against AI. I’m here to say the Red deck battle was pretty tough! I’m no tcg expert but I’ve been casually playing my whole life and the first tutorial felt like the red deck is just garbage and not to buy it if starting out. The blue deck is by far the best deck out of the tutorial. The app won’t fit your phone screen perfectly but it’s serviceable enough for the 20-60 minutes you might play it to see if you like the game before buying physical cards. Holding on the card will bring up more details on the card as well. Overall the app could be more appealing but I understand it’s also just a quick tutorial app and it works great. Will definitely be picking up some starter decks to play with friends.

This game is pretty good at teaching you how to play the game. However, after playing many, many games with these half decks, I want to do more. I wish there could be other cards, and allow you to build your own deck and a lot of other cool things. I know that the English release of the card game is coming up in January, but I’m impatient, and want to play more than with just these 3 decks. It would be nice if this digital version would be fully realized, but I have a feeling that won’t happen (but it would be nice, especially during a pandemic). I really hope it does get fully realized though, after all DIGIMON is literally Digital Monsters in Japanese, so a digital app would be good. Regardless of whether or not more would be added to this game, it is definitely a good download to anyone who wants to learn how to play the game.

I know this is a tutorial and I appreciate the efforts Bandai has put in to make an immersive and easy to learn method on how to play the game. However, this is a dying game here in the states and needs a TCG app like Yu Gi Oh has done already. I never played Digimon in my life but always wanted to and now that I understand, I want more! You guys already have a solid frame for the game all you need to do is well… finish it and make it a complete game. I’m ready to drop some money on this but honestly I don’t see myself buying the cards since I don’t see myself hunting done a community whom actually play this likely located nowhere near where I live. Please listen to us

Honestly the game has potential but it is very poorly executed. The screen doesn't size properly to higher resolutions so if you're using a newer phone you will probably have trouble seeing. On a similar note, it's impossible to read what a card does before playing it, because there is no preview and again the screen is so small that text is very difficult to read without a zoom feature. Another annoying feature is that the tutorial enemies seem to be set to extreme difficulty. I had a pretty hard time taking down the first one, it took me a couple tries. It made me feel like I was being punished too harshly for not knowing the game mechanics and meta right away (remember this is the TUTORIAL i'm talking about). If you play this game you better expect to deal with lots of loss and demotivations because they won't go easy on you just because you're a new player.

This game was a great idea to build more hype for the card game, but they need to bite the bullet and make a full version. Even if that just means full decks, thats fine. But playing match after match with half decks will get you nowhere. Hopefully, after learning the rules most players will try to find an alternative online. Otherwise, this app is wasted. A full app is needed, now. This game is dying in the west because of lack of access to cards, and this is an easy work around. Let people build decks, unlock cards, and play each other online. Its simple.

4 stars because I love Digimon and this game is really fun start. People gave it 1 star because they didn’t read, hold the card you want to see and you will get full screen details of the card. I will rate this 5 stars if you add more recent decks to this game, I would love to DNA digivolve. Or have it where you can edit your deck and play more of your style but I understand why this is set up the way it is and I love it 🤘I will show my friends this game and hopefully they get into it as well!

It’s nice in that it leaves you wanting more. Very basic and only 3 very hard matches. It’s purely RNG if you start with a good hand. Took me a few tries to beat the A.I. it was still fun. Last one was hard and I got lucky that I decked them out. If a full online game does happen please fix the increasing or decreasing the DP of a digimon. It’s boring waiting for your trainer’s effects to resolve on each of your and your opponents individual digimon. One at a time. Overall, love the new digimon tcg. What a comeback.

Finished all the half decks and I really enjoyed the time I spent learning the rules and seeing how unique this system is in the card game world. It for sure borrows some elements from larger games such as yu-gi-oh but the security deck concept is interesting and the gamble of rushing out a higher level Digimon to out maneuver your opponent adds a lot of unique play styles. All in all this got me super excited for a new Physical TCG game that will hopefully catch on and get popular around the world and not just in Japan. TG

I really enjoyed playing the app and I’ve never played the actual game before so it taught me how to play but. I was kind of disappointed when it was only four tutorials and that’s it. I was hoping for the tutorials to unlock like the full game so you can play with other people and collect cards in I was hoping it was gonna do something like that but just a app to teach you how to play the game and that’s it I give you props I love the game I just wish there was more.

Good app, and the card game seems like it’ll be fun. I suggest making it clearer you have to click your DIGIMON and drag the arrow to attack the enemy’s security. Also, please make use of the full screen. I have a regular latest gen iPad, and there is unused space on the top and bottom, making the playing field smaller than it should be. The text on the cards is hard to read as a result. Otherwise , it works well and I’m excited for the real card game to come out!

This app is a great way to learn the Digimon TCG’s rules! I’ve really enjoyed learning the game, and it’s clear that this’ll be a fun game to play. However, there’s a lot of wasted potential in this app that I hope can be corrected. First of all, there’s no deck builder, or even a complete deck. All you have is half of each starter deck, which is fine for learning the game, but this could SERIOUSLY get more reach if it was a full simulator for the game. Secondly, the UI can be a little dizzying to navigate sometimes in gameplay. Particularly, selecting a card from your hand gets almost impossible at hand sizes larger than 5, which is a big ask in a game with no hand limit. This is a great start, and with the game so popular in Japan already, I’m hoping Bandai capitalized on that and keeps investing in this game, maybe by expanding what this app can do!

The first couple tutorials were great. Explained the game and how to play it. First battle game is hard. And for some reason the ai changes the rules so I lose every time. They will always come up with combos to get 3 and 4 attacks per character and defeat my security like then attack my personally with same card. When I do the same thing it never lets me hit the player and I still have attacks left. Twice now without cards being played the ai attacks dealing an attack. Then it’s second Digimon attacks with a single attack. Once it hit a x3 pops up and it deals two more attacks defeating me. Some of my digimon when untapped and ready for battle are not allowed to battle for some reason. Nothing on them says they can’t attack. Always happens when ai has a single counter left. The ai always magically gets the best of everything out of thin air.

I love this it taught me well but I would like it to well be something like duel links where it’s well just the Digimon card game but online not just a tutorial also if you can please can you make a DarkDramon dim card it’s my favorite Digimon of course many people make requests and you probably won’t do this but if your gonna make another dim card for the Digimon vital bracelet please make it a DarkDramon dim card overall this tutorial is great

i love this tutorial but it wont let me go further with garuramon :( anytime i feel like im going to beat the greymon deck the game just crashes on me. ive been getting better and better but i cant beat greymon before the game crashes and i think it might have to do with all the card draw triggers? could this be why we dont have a full online system? Please help i would love to be able to beat the 2nd AI without my game crashing .

This tutorial tells you how to play and if you didn’t already figure it out there are three card matches you can play though I wish they made this card game for a app to play online or a story mode I also think we need more digimon games because rearize is the only other game I would especially like for a digimon hero’s 2 to come out or just republish the first one thank you for reading.

I understand that this is just a tutorial app, and for that it is great. But where it falls short is in its potential. I understand that this is supposed to be a way to learn and get into the physical game. The problem with that is the pandemic caused a big hiccup with the roll out of this game. I haven’t been able to find anywhere near me selling the cards and even if I do I can’t imagine anyone else in my area being lucky enough to have purchased them too. Than the likely hood of meeting up with said person to play with. This easily could have been an actual game to go alongside the physical game.

This tutorial is really nice at teaching the basics/getting people into the game. I’ve given it to several friends and they’ve been able to pick it up quickly! I hope the success/interest of this app will also appeal to the developers to make an official digitial version of the game as well!

I personally have been a huge fan of Digimon since I was a child and I am extremely excited for the TCG and if we get the OCG then I would be ecstatic. Please make this a reality soon! Try to make it so that the cards you can get are up to date within the previous year of the game at least.

please make a mobile game, you have the structure of a game to do something, I personally think a lot of people would praise you for doing this, It’s a great game, and I’d think it would get even better if we had a proper mobile game in place.

Tutorial app is ok but not enough to fully understand the mechanic. It would be really nice if the will be online version like Pokemon TCG or Magic the Gathering. Mobile versions always double the cash for developers especially if there will be real tournaments and not just webcam version.

Bro y’all need to update this into a full game with more card and deck variety and give us the option to battle people online. Like the other reviewer said card availability is scarce in the west and a full blown mobile game could really bolster interest and give people an accessible entry into the game.

I love the simulator and the detailed instructions for playing. But, this is just a tease to what it could really become! It has a huge potential for competing with other games like Teppen, Master Duel, and Hearthstone. The team should release a complete game.

Hello, I’ve been researching on how to play this game & I definitely agree with a lot of player in the community that I wish this card game will have more ads invested into it especially since it’s new. Hopefully this card game works out as it looks enjoyable.

This app explains the basics of how to play and also has a really tutorial system. I’m impressed considering that the actual card game is physical and not digital. I can’t wait to buy the real cards and play with friends it’s so fun! This is honestly a really fun card game I haven’t enjoyed cards this much since Yugioh

This app is not good for learning the game. Talk to fans or watch fan made videos. The preprogrammed battles are stacked against the player making it very difficult to learn by practicing and experimenting. There are only two very brief actual tutorials and they completely skip how to build a deck or how to set up the field to start with! You'd be better off reading the rule cards that sometimes turn up in boosters even than playing this. It will reduce your understanding overall.

I find myself playing the app over and over even though I know it’s only 3 decks. It should let you scan your cards into the app or update the app for a full version. I love DIGIMON been a fan since I was a baby. Keep it coming!

The first two tutorials did a fine job to teach some of the basics, but the cards are impossible to read while playing, can’t really be seen when trying to identify them in your hand if they aren’t the top cards, and when you unlock play with the half decks the level of play is no where near beginner friendly or conducive to building the confidence for someone to want to spend money on the impending physical product outside Japan.

This really taught me how to play the game very well and has me beyond excited for the physical tcg to release! Would love it if they used this engine to build a full online tcg experience in the way Pokemon has codes in their physical card packs. Happy to see Digimon going strong after all these years!

This game is so good! We really need a full game ASAP! Here in the west it’s hard to find cards and even harder to find people to play with. An online alternative would be great especially if it followed the free to play format if other games like hearthstone and yugioh

This is probably the most fun card game ive ever played. And thats coming from a long time yugioh and magic player. The tutorial works so well, so i would LOVE to be able to play this with my friends.

Bandai needs to make an official video game for the TCG it would make learning the game easier because this tutorial sets up basic gameplay and that’s all . Hopefully one day they’ll read this and make a game 😀

I have never once paid for an app or in-app purchase. I would buy a complete version of this game. Super fun, easy to understand, and full of nostalgic monsters. Please make it a full game.

Really love that they've updated the app to include the newest starter decks and the ACE mechanic. Very fun to play with the full 50 card decks instead of half-decks like in the previous version of the game. I hope they add more decks in the future as well!

Please please PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR FANS!! Please we want a multiplayer app/client to play this card game. It will help me to get my friends into the game and play more often since I can’t play in person. PLEASE make an app an listen to your fans!!

As far as teaching the very basic rules, it does what it is supposed to, but it only has 3 training matches, all easy, with no reason to touch it again after you’ve done that. I also ran into issues with cards I should have been able to play that it wouldn’t let me cast.

The first two tutorials are amazing at explaining the game. BUT what people won’t tell you is that the game is hugely RNG based. Your hand might get slammed with 3x of the same card and 1 random card. While as the AI can pull combos out there arsenal and literally digievolve first turn and will get +1 or +2 memory because of there cards. It’s just another Hearthstone with digimon copied and pasted. You basically get a beginner deck and are thrown straight into facing pro decks. Trash and pass.

The Digimon card game is waaaaay better then pokemon card game. It’s more in depth and you need to think 2 steps ahead. It makes you think. Can’t wait to play the game when it comes out. Tho I would love if they made a full fledged game on consoles.

I like the app very easy to learn how to play but I am still eagerly awaiting for the full release of a card game simulator app why is it taking so long for one to be made would love to start playing it

Everything is great, but it needs the ability to collect cards, customize folders/decks, & have unlimited playability against CPU; With more options to allow choosing of ones folder/deck & opponents folder/deck.

This is a great way to learn but this really should be a full game. It’s hard to find people to play with irl and this was pretty well made. A few tweaks and it would be the perfect base for a full game

PLEASE expand this to the full game and put it on the Switch too. You've got a winner, but card games are all online now.

Just make a full game, you will absolutely get collectors to buy the cards irl, but others need to know how fun it is!!! A tutorial isn’t enough for that.

It would be nice to allow the player to check what their cards do during the match instead of the text boxes that show up for a second and a half.

Man I hope they make an app like this where you can register your decks from the cards I’ve collected.

Please just make an actual online TCG this is so fun but digimon tcgs irl are pretty hard to catch with my work. An online equivalent would be nice.

Im still learning to play on the tutorial, but it would be awesome of you guys made a full on card game on the mobile app. I know i would play it

This tutorial is great for what it is, but it would be awesome to see it become a real game with multiplayer

Might as well make it a full on game because this will probably be better on mobile then the actaul tcg been waiting on that bt6 release but all the scalpers got that market all messed up

Just make this the full game. Your profits will rocket on a international digital platform.
