Login issues.
I have been getting error issues while trying to log in. I have it set up for facial recognition and it still gives me issues. None of my other apps do. So now I don’t wanna “we ‘re sorry to hear your having issues logging in”. Replies to this. I’ve looked at the history on here & have found this has been an ongoing issue for YEARS. So I’m gonna make this as clear as possible. If you guys don’t have this fixed within a month or 2. I’m getting an attorney and suing you cause I can’t make my payments & I can’t update vital info. So get it done!!! Update, app still hasn’t been fixed but now I think I understand why it’s so that they can force people to have to go with automatic withdrawal to pay on the insurance. They have now done two months in a row without my authorization to withdraw the money from my account. Which now has been overdrawn and an overdraft fee will be charged. I think I have enough right now to file a lawsuit. Will update as this goes on.

Terrible customer service!!!
I recently had USAA screw me over! It was their mistake and they didn't want to fix it! I found this direct insurance and this agent named Thomas helped me! I wanted to put an old 81 Ford pick up on there and my daughters newer car that is financed. Gave him all the info and told me what I needed to put down what my monthly rates were! I was so happy when I found out that the rates were gonna be really low! Made made my down payment! Well I have been waiting for the usual insurance packet in the mail with insurance cards. I decided just to register on the app so I could pull them up and send her a screenshot and realized her car wasn't even on the insurance! So, my daughter's been driving her car around for weeks uninsured! I am so mad! I'm paying $250 a month on an old Ford pick up that I'm currently driving because my van broke down! I have a clean, driving record with no tickets or anything! Turns out that they added my daughter on as a driver! They weren't gonna add her on then why did they add her on as a driver? I asked them to pull the call because I agent messed up big! I recommended him to everybody because I thought I got such awesome rates! I definitely do not recommend going to this insurance, which is actually part of Allstate! I am a very unhappy person because now I have to shop around for another insurance! I really don't have the time now that I'm watching my grandbabies all day! Extremely irritated!!!

DESPERATELY needs optimization
It works, but barley. I am able to log in without a problem, view my bill, and carry out other basic functions. The only problem is that it’s not optimized for a smooth experience, the logo is cut off from the top of the screen, animations are slow, and loading times are rather long. Considering many people switched from Esurance to Direct Auto, it is time for a SERIOUS upgrade to the app. Edit: Additionally, when I log into the app, I do not stay logged in, and FaceID isn’t working either. I also cannot access any settings on the app, when I tap on “settings” in the “more” tab, a message appears saying there are no items.

Fraud
Do NOT get insurance through here! Called and added son and his car to plan, been paying premium, son got into accident and they claim they never added son! Just his car!! We called 2 times prior for him to insure himself, but found it was cheaper to add him to policy. Nope! They took the money, call etc but didn’t do their job or maybe that was the plan… not sure. So, thankfully calls are recorded, been two weeks sitting in storage that Direct is saying they won’t cover. Thankfully, we hired a federal attorney to cover his accident (due to it being railroads fault) and now have started the process to include Direct Auto Insurance for insurance fraud as well. Phone records DO NOT LIE. So why in the world would they want to cost themselves thousands of more dollars and possibly be shut down due to fraud? They say it could take days for them to pull phone records, but it now has been weeks! Luckily, my attorney has already requested mine, so they can take all the time they want. Beware of this company!!!

App don’t work and website don’t either

Invasion of privacy and refusal to respond
They sent me a random piece of mail two days before a date saying they will cancel my insurance if I do not provide them “specific information”. The letter did not explain what information it was. I emailed them and called them. They left me on hold twice for over 45 minutes, and refused to respond to my emails. They then cancelled my insurance (on a car that I LEASE so I need insurance on my car) and then responded to my email five days after the cancelling date asking for private information of other people. Asking for peoples social security numbers and personal information long after they cancelled my insurance and refused to respond to my calls and emails.

Major issues
I went ahead and used them for full coverage made a large first payment. Never received my paper only online. Then went ahead and added renters insurance paid 6 months upfront and they can’t find anything about it besides my bank statement. I paid 2 months after my first initial payment and instead of receiving the paper copy I received a late notice claiming my insurance was about to get cancelled! Now I’ve received about 2 of those letters and still no paperwork as requested months ago! I’m also in limbo about my renters insurance policy so needless to say I’m not very happy or satisfied with this service.

Scared of being scammed
Signed up by phone gave my bank account information the app said that my policy was paid for 6 months in full but no activity in my bank account. Fast forward almost two weeks and now the app says that my policy has lapsed? Entered my card info on the app paid for the policy and also the late fees which made my bill about 100 dollars more than when I signed up. Now that I’ve paid the app just crashes and I can’t see if my policy has been renewed. Would rate 0 stars if I could for app interface and bugs. Poor communication from a company that you should trust.

Rated a 1 because there is no 0
This company scams their customers. They will increase your rate with no warning. I signed an agreement for $880 a year. 10 days before my next installment was due and with no warning they changed my premium to $1,297. Their website is unusable. I called the local office where the person who answered could only read my policy to me off of her screen and offered no help at all. When I asked why my premium was increased by over $400, she replied “Cause they raised it”. That’s it. No explanation other than the company raised it. Stay away from this shady company and their trash app.

Payments
I use the app each month to make payments and I don’t have any problems or issues. It is more convenient than the website. I am amending my rating. I usually wait till the due date and it does always seem to show me an error message when I attempt to make a payment on the due date. Very annoying!

I have been having trouble logging in for a while now, even though my password is saved it still tells me wrong password, & when I try to use forgot password it says the information is not correct, I know my birthday & last name also got my paperwork out to make sure I had all the right number’s, so what am I doing wrong P.S, I deleted the app , then reinstalled & that we, problem solved

Unorganized
Sometimes I pay 2 times a month, random renewal fees, insurance just increased even tho I’ve never gotten a ticket or damaged any cars. Customer service line hangs up instead of answering because the call center reps are lazy and Direct Auto has zero form of communication to get anything resolved. I’m switching after the end of this month to ANY other provider. Good thing I haven’t been in a crash because I guarantee this company would laugh in my face and do nothing. Useless waste of money. I award you 0 stars.

Login Issues
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I haven’t been able to login to my account via facial recognition for over a week. I’m just trying to pay my insurance off and they make it so complicated. I would just call them and pay over the phone but last time I tried that the payment “didn’t go through” which was hilarious because it was taking out of my account but somehow they never got it which resulted in a near cancellation and plenty of late fees!

ABOUT DIRECT INSURANCE!!!! See what this company does for those who use Direct insurance. For example, you go to someone's house in the family and park your car there for a while. Then your insurance increases by fifty percent. So, won't I be able to take care of my child at my sick son's house? I couldn't tell you how many times we contacted Trlefon. And now they have sent a cancellation invoice, CARCAR CROWS. Please think ten times before making a deal with this company Is stealing a crime? Yes, they put criminal people's money in their pockets.

Decent Insurance but App is Useless
Every time I would do a Roadside Assistance request they’d come but there would be a huge window open in the app that couldn’t be closed or swiped away and it would stay there months after I did the RA was complete. The app would forget my password and force me to login via Internet or Phone Call. The Face ID works When it Feels Like it. And you get locked out if the App decides to not remember your password. Decent insurance service but horrible app

Can’t update App
It’s telling me I have to update the app to sign in even though it’s already updated to the latest version and keeps throwing me in a loop hole. My bill is due in one day, how am I suppose to pay you guys? Safe auto app was a lot better never had a problem with it. This one is a struggle, please make it simple.

By far the worst app ever!
I’ve only had the app for 3 months and it’s terrible. I’m always getting locked out the app. And when I’m finally in the app, I could not change my phone number or address after several attempts. I wasn’t able to set up auto pay after countless attempts. I end up having to call to take care of all those things. This app needs to be better in so many ways.

I had safe auto for many years without issues. Direct auto took over and the app and service is terrible. I signed up for auto pay and every month I get cancellation notices and can’t log on to see what’s going on. A month ago I talked again with customer service and thought it was fixed, and today I get a letter from the state saying my insurance has been cancelled.

Worst app in existence
I hope you don’t need to actually use the app for anything. Like paying a bill or viewing a policy or anything at all because you can’t even sign in on the app. Error messages, app freezes, facial recognition absolutely does not work at all, nothing on this app is operable and it’s the worst app I’ve ever used. That’s why it has a 2 star rating and that is actually high.

Nothing works
On the website, you login into the my account, you get an error message. You go to the app and login and all your information is correct and you get an error message. So, the website does not work and the app does not work; so my question is what does work?? You can’t view any of your own information for your policy. Absolutely ridiculous.

I don’t like the app that tells you that you were speeding on distracted and your in the passenger in someone else car , so some how I can’t get the app back up and I could only imagine what it’s rating me now I really don’t see the point of it how can I get it off all together

Bugs and loading
When using the app on wifi it’s really slow and takes a long time to load even while on wifi and if im not connected it’s virtually unusable

SCAM SCAM
This company will raise your rate without telling you. Then when you call will transfer you to so many different people to “fix the issue” then will not. Tried to cancel multiple times. Nothing. Then the after days of calling and being on hold for hours they let me cancel it but have to pay for the next month.

Tired of this app and now need a lawyer
Need to get a lawyer so I can sue this company for my money back. App refuses to log in, facial recognition refuses to work period and now I have a ticket for not having insurance even though I do BECAUSE OF YOUR FAULTY APP. If anyone reads this, go with a different company even if it costs more. It’s cheaper and better for your mental health in the long run.

Login issue
I can’t login to make a payments and it’s quite frustrating because I have to update info pertaining to my policy which I need to access the app for. Fix this immediately, it’s literally always an issue with this company and I honestly don’t know how I was switched from safe auto to this.

Run like heck…
They will not cancel you… If you cancel, make sure you call three different times to make sure policy is cancelled… They will also try to screw you over… Don’t listen to them when they tell you that changing insurances is bad for your credit… They just want to raise prices on you,..

I just had an update on the Direct app. so I updated it and as always (for the past 9 months) ,gives me a difficult time getting into the app. I don’t get aggravated very quickly but this app. really gets on my nerves sad to say.

Useless app
Update: Developers lying, you can only get current active period id cards not the next one you already paid for. Paid for renewal but no way to get new id cards. All the other car insurance companies gives option to see or download current and renewed cards.

It worked for about 20 seconds
It crashed after 20 seconds and I haven’t been able to get it to work, even if I reset my phone. Sad part is I’ve seen high schoolers make better app than this.

Just rubbish
This app is borderline unusable. It only shows my policy that expired in Feb 2022, but refuses to update to my current policy. When selecting the “get help” text (also, “find a store” is same problem), nothing happens. There is no way for the system to update, so no point in using a broken app.

Unhappy
The app isn’t allowing me to sign into it at all. It keeps saying an error has occurred. Definitely need things like this fixed so people can see their policies and make payments. It’s ridiculous for a insurance company not to have better access to a good working app.
