The app worked fine until it updated and now to login I open the app input my information that’s correct and get locked out of my account for 10 minutes (that is actually permanent) until I get online open the website and set up all over again if it’s working or call customer service who English is so broken I don’t understand what they’re saying and vice versa apparently the US government is contracting outside of the US to do their dirty work of screwing the citizens on that note I continue to have fraudulent charges made unknowingly how that happened when it happens across the ocean in a different state over 35,000 miles from where I’m at with no real way to address that issue either the last dispute took over seven months i’m pretty sure the people with broken English used my information that I had to give them to open my account as fraudulent charges only happen before I opened my account for myself again when I switch cards to try to stop this I have to pay for that too I cannot transfer money to any other account over $50 that’s not helpfu
This app is one of the most useful and easy to use, I’ve had the pleasure of using . It’s very precise and has actually helped me out of a jam or two , which I find myself running into unfortunately, as I am somewhat of a forgetful individual. It’s usefulness amd ease of operation, have made it a definite five star keeper , I’m my personal opinion . It wouldBehoove you, to try it! Jett
My mother had a DirectExpress card. Somebody hacked the card and took her money. They replaced the money, but they marked the account as a high risk. She was admitted to a nursing home and needed to access her card information because she had an expired card. She called direct express and they would not talk to her. We have tried every avenue to resolve this issue. There is currently at approximately $2500 on her DirectExpress card that we are unable to access and that they will not return. We have had to open a bank account in my mothers name and change your Social Security direct deposit to that bank account to prevent direct express from keeping any more of her money. This company is horrible and should be ashamed at the way they do business. They take advantage of elderly people. This has been ongoing for over two years. Shame on you direct express.
I received the letter at my current address, where I live from the company, stating that I would be receiving a new card within 45 business days. The card never showed up so I called the company to ask when I would be receiving the car. They told me that the card was sent to my old address where I lived seven years ago, she then told me that she could send me the card to my current address with Xpress shipping for $13 and I told her no I’m not paying $13 you sent it to the wrong address hence your fault. And why did I receive a letter to my current address stating I would get a new card then they send the card to an old address. Long story short, they charged me $13 anyways and sent the card express shipping and are refusing to give me a refund.
Yes, this card works when it wants & NOT when I want it to work. Today I am unable to even check if my phone bill was paid but the card will not even open. So now and AGAIN I must call DX to see why my card won't load. No update nothing. What is wrong NOW? Call center here I come. I will say they have a terrific customer service center. Very knowledgeable & a delight to deal with. Once in a while, you do have to hang on but not too long. But today the card I have had for 2 years just refuses to work or even open.
Very frustrating and suddenly the transfer service from card to bank account that was advertised has disappeared and can’t be used. Called customer service and representative didn’t know why this happening and said try it again next week. I have for several weeks and it doesn’t work. Left written requests for help and only got messages to call the customer service line, which was useless. Just give me a direct deposit, as the card makes it very hard to obtain your own funds.
It’s working just fine. I would however like to be able to transfer funds from the card into my BofA checking account for bills I’ve always paid from there online.
Forced to use new app that never works. Worked find till “new improved” app was forced on everyone and haven’t been able to log in once!!!!! Have to go to library get on computer and make new account every single month. I’m too old for this kind of hassle and getting out is often a painful and horrible hassle but do they care and fix things? NO! Once again can’t log in so once again bills will wait until I can get to town to set up the 5th new account.
It never fails...eventually the app actually does fail! Right now, it won't open to show me my balance. I even deleted it and downloaded again and it still won't open. I turned my phone off and turned it back on and the app still won't open!
How does Apple constantly allow these fake reviews especially with banking. I haven’t been able to get into my account for over two months now and I see all these complaints on here with their high 4.6 rating it’s ridiculous this is Social Security checks being sent to all types of people that are constantly complaining about this company. Apple do your job please.
Try and talk to a person lol don’t hit the wrong key when you do call because you will have to start all over. I’ve spent the last 2 hours trying to add my bank account only to not be able to transfer funds because the computer says i entered an invalid amount. I tried $200 to $2.00 n nothing worked grrrr her goes another hour of my life as I try and call again.
I love the app, and at one point I was able to transfer funds to my person bank account, which was awesome! For some reason that option is gone now which is extremely disappointing. Other then that though it’s great.
I'd say that at least 80% of the time, the Direct Express app will not open on my iPhone. Even if I go to the App Store and try and open it from there, it doesn't work. I can't tell you how many times I've had to completely delete the app, reload it, and start all over. This has been a problem for years.
I have been trying to login all day to my account and not even login area show up on my phone screen. Need to do some improvement on app for it to function or be more accessible
I can’t communicate with the customer service people. The language is so broken. Plus chargers I don’t make every other day. I can’t log into my account don’t know why ?? Keep trying no success!!
Worse customer service ever, ordered a new card and it has been over 15 days and still no card yet they can’t transfer my funds to another account???? Like are you serious when we have bills to pay and no way of paying for them without my card 😡
Do not use this app, and if you have a means of obtaining your benefits via a different account to have then deposited into, use that instead of Direct Express AT ALL. I can’t access my monthly benefits to pay my rent currently because someone canceled my card, ordered a replacement, and had it delivered to an address I have never lived at in another city. They say they safety, and security, is their top priority, but I’m sitting at a call log of 50 attempts currently to get through to someone so that hopefully this can be resolved and my family isn’t evicted right before Christmas. DO NOT USE
They are bragging about how easy it is to use the app, but it never opens and everyone says the same thing, but they refuse to fix it. I am looking for another vendor to handle my monthly deposits from the government since this app won’t even open so I can check my balance.
I can’t get it to even leave the front page. My card starts with 5332 so I have to use the other app but I pull it up and it just has the picture and I can’t get it to leave. I’m thinking about canceling my account because this happens just too often.
I have tried for months to get thru to a live person at Direct Express with no luck! I’m very upset and really don’t know what to do. Can not access my account through the app. Login on to the internet shows error and will not connect to DX Express server. It is not a problem on my end it’s a problem with DX. Please fix the problem. I’m sure others are having the same error message.
When I open the app I expect to be able to accomplish an important task today. To be met with “Update now” message when I’m not on a WiFi network is 1) disrespectful of people who don’t have unlimited data plans, and 2) disrespectful of the user’s time who wants to accomplish what he/she planned to do *then* with the app. To force an update may be good for the developer or the management of the card but it’s not considering the user’s needs. Please remove the insistence for an immediate update when the app is launched. Reminders are a much more productive and respectful means to accomplish this.
Every time I try to log in via my fingerprint or manually with my user name and password, the app tells me to wait. And then it closes. EVERY TIME! So frustrating. When I contacted app support over a month ago they finally replied saying “sorry you lost your card.” Like um. That’s not what I said. Thanks for nothing.
Since the update came out for cards beginning with 53 this one has since stopped working for cards beginning with 51 ( which this app is for) it pushes us to use the other and it doesn’t work for 51 cards. Now what do we do…. Fix it ASAP.
Have been unable to card to bank account transfer for 3 weeks now. They are aware of the issue but have no fix for the problem. App and online both. Therefore, I am unable to access money electronically, unless I want to go to Walmart for a withdraw!!
Every time I something changed it’s a hassle! Need to change your address! 4 or 5 calls and e-mails later it might get done! Need to find out about your stimulus check? Hassle ! Need to transfer money? Big hassle ! I I could change it to something else I would! ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER!
Every month I call to check if my money has been deposit and it won’t let me check they just hang up on me. I can’t wait to change to my other account.
Downloaded the app and signed in trying to use facial recognition and it wouldn’t work after several attempts. I forget my password a lot and I need to use it and it disappointing that it doesn’t work . App Needs improvement!
I tried to sign up for this app and they said it was for cardholders that started with these specific numbers. I really didn’t want to have to keep using my old phone to check my balances but I guess I have no choice, huh.
This is the worst app I’ve ever downloaded this company is getting paid for doing absolutely nothing to help the unfortunate people that have this bank card I recommend using a real bank
I would like to receive text messages and balances after every purchase or transaction. I also would like to see my statements for any month in the same year.
Do not use this app. It is yet another grift brought to you by your corrupt government in order to allow their donors to steal from the segment of the population that they loathe the most; poor people and those who of us who are disabled and in need of assistance.
As a new user trying to make payments I find using this app very difficult. right now I’m waiting for you to open and then I will need to call for help
