I love taking my dog to Dogtopia, but after requesting boarding or spa services and getting approval notifications, it is always annoying to open the app to not see them in the upcoming appointments section. I see the drop down menu to view the different categories of services but why not have a default of All categories or not have a category drop down at all and show all upcoming appointments by date. If I schedule something in advance and forget I did it, I have to open the app and then select the specific category to see what I’ve done. When I was a first time user of the app, I just figured the app was broken and just didn’t show my appointments. Now I know I have to take the added step to choose from the drop down to see boarding or spa appointments. I wonder how many others didn’t recognize that there was a drop down that needed to be changed to see their appointments?
If you have your phone in dark mode, it is really hard to use the app as a lot of the backgrounds that are meant to be white turn black. Would be better to have a dedicated dark mode or just don’t change those colors based on user settings. Don’t want to have to turn off dark mode just for this to be useable!
App shouldn’t be offered as a perk if it isn’t going to perform.
This could easily be a 5 star review, although the app would have to actually perform in order to do that. My local Dogtopia has approved my first account, and after two weeks of “account pending” on the app dashboard I asked them about it again. They approved it, again, and still nothing. I created an entirely new account, which was approved in front of me at my local Dogtopia, and I still have an account pending notification on my dashboard. This makes the app entirely useless. It is obviously an error through the app, since I have been approved through my local store 4 times now. Don’t offer an app as a perk if it is simply going to be rendered an icon on a home screen with no use. When this gets fixed I would gladly edit my review.
Love the Dogtopia app minus one flaw. I can’t add my second dog no matter how many different times and ways that I try and I’m beyond tech savvy so it’s not that I’m app illiterate. The “add profile” option completely doesn’t work. I fill out all the required information, my dog has already done the meet and greet because it’s been months that I’ve tried to add my second pup after the store told me they don’t have to do anything on their end and it’s all me, and absolutely can’t get the app to accept my second profile. I can’t be the only person with two dogs that wants to book Services through the app, right?
Both the app and the website are atrocious. Could not schedule meet and greet, locations don’t appear in drop down (link/arrow did nothing), can not request appointment - choose your pet link is apparently text on the screen and not a real link. It’s June 26th and I have an “upcoming” appointment for June 24th (two days ago), says info is incomplete when I completed it in person, webcam access link gives me error message. First time registration gave me an error message…even though it registered but then password didn’t work, had to “reset” password to the same thing I set it to (I didn’t fat finger it, I very meticulously entered it twice). Would give zero stars if I could.
I never usually leave reviews but after seeing negative 1 star reviews I felt like I needed to. The app is extremely easy to use and I love that I am able to quickly request multiple daycare days at the same time. I am also able to book spa appointments/boarding visits on the app. It is very user friendly and simple to use.
We absolutely love the staff and experience at our location. However, this app simply doesn't work. All of the features from scheduling to adding family members either throw an error or do nothing. Dogtopia also made the decision to block login on the mobile version of their website but even after logging into their website on a laptop there are no features to do anything. The only difference is the Sign In link vanishes. You can't even log out. They do not seem to test their tech.
We like Dogtopia for the staff and the video option, but the feed keeps freezing and is hard to connect to most of the time. It takes multiple tries to finally connect and we only get a few seconds before it stops, and we have to start all over again.
I bring my dog here each week and would love a feature that once I book an appointment, it would allow me to add to calendar. also, when booking Daycare , it would be great if they would be a feature that would allow you to add a spa appointment at the same time versus separately.
The app doesn’t allow you to nail down true pricing for anything. You will schedule an appointment for boarding, receive approval, and get the shock of your life when you pick up your dog and see how much it costs. The app also doesn’t automatically inform owners about the fine print of services. This company/franchise locations are purposely vague and use language that is open to interpretation (in their favor) if challenged. Don’t get the app, don’t use this company. Neither one is transparent.
Clearly lots of work has been done on this app and it has come a long way. I find that it works amazingly well and love that you can easily check the cams and see the dogs playing. Thanks for all the improvements/enhancements!
This app does the very basics, and I appreciate the ability to quickly book appointments thru the app and view the webcam. Some features that would make this so much more useful: 1) friendlier and more intuitive UI: a) the black icons on black background make it very hard to see things like an arrow for drop down menu, or the “X” to close the window after booking an appointment b) Buttons, rather than a drop down to view other service appointments (ie. daycare, boarding, grooming), aside from the one you’re on. 2) ability to see the balance of passes on my account 3) payment transaction history
Does the bare minimum. It would be nice to be able to view pass balance, stay history, etc. Also, after booking a stay the confirmation pop-up does not give an option to close the pop-up and you have to kill the app to create another booking.
I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times to no avail. The app freezes…the little dots keep flashing and I get nowhere. If there are any updates or fixes..it’s been made worse. I use to use the app all the time, now I have to go to the web to connect and request dates. I am unable to view my dog on the camera, unable to see past appointments, and pending is all that pops up. Often times it freezes on pending. Help!
The latest version totally screwed up an app that was working great. I can no longer share this app with my husband. I cannot enter a valid phone number because no dashes allowed. I’ve deleted and re-added the app several times to no avail. Please put this back to where it was! This app is terrible, completely useless. Keep having to delete and re-add, won’t accept my login. Works for a couple days then doesn’t work at all. Please fix this! Dogtopia website is pretty useless too.
No issues with the app or making appointments. I can view my pup on the cameras. Maybe it’s my location in Shrewsbury NJ but Dogtopia and the app are both great! Been using app and going there for 2 years since opening day.
I get stuck in appointment mode and can’t get back to Home Screen. Black background mixed with very faint charcoal (or non existent) links to navigate between functions is frustrating. Needs more testing on site navigation to improve.
Dogtopia is a great place to take my pup to get him some exercise and socialization. The app however is deeply flawed. While making an appointment is easy, watching the WebCams is a nightmare. Every time I open a WebCam it plays for a couple seconds and freezes making it frustrating and hard to watch. 99% of the time I end up watching on my browser
Although I know my location in Jacksonville fla takes great care of my dogs. I have as yet been unable to access the webcam to view my dogs. I have tried repeatedly to gain entrance to the site and there is no help forthcoming from the folks who run the website. I am deeply annoyed not to say disappointed since one of the perks I was told to expect was to be able to view my pets. FIX THE WEBCAM SITUATION. Thank you
The main reason I picked Dogtopia was so I can watch my dog on video. Unfortunately, you’re streaming support doesn’t provide video to play for longer than a few seconds. You guys either need to improve your partnership with nest or switch to hosting your own streams, because for the cost of care we should be able to watch the videos and not have them freeze every three seconds.
I never write reviews but for this app I must. If I could give it zero starts I would. It is filled with bugs and it almost seems as if it was designed by someone in kindergarten. I’ve had to reset my password multiple times and I’m still not able to log in…yet I can access the website fine. If wasn’t for the well run franchises, I would be done with Dogtopia solely because of this application. HORRIBLE!
I signed up got DogTopia membership and boarded my 9 yr old Curly for the first time based in the promise that Dogtopia !marvelous App would permit video observation of our “daughter” when we left her there for a ten day maiden voyage recently. Boo Hiss, the manager was never able to complete the link My husband, separated from his little girl while sequestered in a nearby rehab facility was quite disappointed.—the whole experience was a big, fat, zero.
App sometimes work but many times doesn’t. It freezes or puts you into an infinite loop. I like Dogtopia and so does my dog. I don’t like this app and the fact that it’s developer doesn’t seem to be concerned about fixing it. Guess I will have to rely on old fashioned calling to get some info. I am frustrated that I cannot access the cams to see how my puppy is doing. Fix it and I’ll write a better review.
Dogtopia advertises the ability to watch your pup(s) on webcam. This would be a cool feature, if it worked. Not sure what the issue is as it doesn’t work on the app or the website. Dogtopia is out of our way compared to other daycare places. It’s a simple feature that wins our business if it works, and loses it to other comparable daycare places since since it doesn’t work.
My wife adds me to family account. I received the invite email, created account and logged in, but the family account just not working - I can’t see the dog profile, or my wife’s account, or current appointment. On my wife’s phone, it says the invitation status is pending. Update: sign out & sign in again doesn’t help, close & reopen app doesn’t help either
We send our Golden Retriever Phoebe to Uptown Phoenix and are beyond happy with the staff and facilities. Strongly recommend this location and this staff looking for someone to love their pooch while they have to be away at work or other.

After my previous review stating an update was desperately needed, one was released. Have no checked the cams since the update but everything else so far has been improved.
I have to reset my iPhone 3 out of 4 times for the app to load. If I don’t do that, only an orange screen shows. SO annoying! Plus you need a better reservation system, canceling dates rarely works and you should offer an edit option for existing reservations.
I haven’t been able to request daycare appointments via the mobile app for months. No one can seem to figure it out. I now have to call or send and email to make an appointment, which is inconvenient when my dog goes once a week.
I can not figure out how to add a location to my app. I use several locations and would like to switch between them easily. I can not seem to delete a past location either & add a new one.
I love the camera idea. That’s it. A great idea, they are always frozen. We usually check the cameras before we bring her. If the cameras are not working or stay frozen we keep her home. Like to see dogs and the most important, who is we working. We really like Dogtopia but this rating is about the app.

I love Dogtopia, love the people and how well they care for my fur babies, but this app is a disaster. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app *at least* 8 times, changed passwords, reset my phone, on and on and on, and have YET to be able to use it for ANYTHING. I hate that I can’t let my Dogtopia know I’m coming for pick up, especially during this pandemic. And watch my pups on camera? Pffft. So, so, sooooo frustrating.
The app is simply awful. I can never log in through the app and always have to use the web browser. It constantly gives me an error stating there is an issue with the account and to contact them. I call, they reset my account, I set up a new password and then repeat the entire process.
The app leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t understand why billing can’t be included in the app. I hate asking the front desk how many days I have left on my package. Also, there is a version upgrade but I can’t figure out for the life of me how to get it.
I like that I can schedule everything on the app and the camera function is good. I wish I could see how many days I have left on my plan instead of having to call.
The app just shows a graphic when you open it. After tapping and swiping all over the screen, a menu finally opened. You can only tap, “Find Location” and “Sign Out.” Except signing out does nothing because I never signed in. Completely broken.
Dogtopia the stay is awesome but the app is difficult and annoying to use. But I highly recommend this Dog Stay to anyone who has a dog. And I love how their are no cats!
I’ve been trying to get this app to load for days now and nothing. I keep getting a still orange screen or a blank white screen after signing in. I have removed and added it back many times. It’s frustrating that I can view my fur baby. Please fix ASAP
I love Dogtopia! I have a problem with the app. I would like to see my payment history and how many passes I left. I would love if you offered a late pickup for those of traveling into town.
It’s impossible to sign in, view videos or even change your dog’s profile picture. Nothing works. It’s so frustrating. If you want to see your pup on video you’ll have to look somewhere else.
This review is just for the app (not Dogtopia, that’s 10 stars). My appointment never shows on the app after approved. Very frustrating. Can never view webcams, alway freezing. Can’t go 2 seconds without it cutting out.
This app is unusable. I have had to request access from the Dogtopia provider 8 times In 1 week. It is unreliable to watch the doggie cam and unusable for scheduling due to having ‘log in issues’ with every use.
Everytime I open this app, it’s just a white screen. To fix this, you have to open and close the app multiple times and if the Gods are gracious and luck is on your side, you may see the app working. When it works - It’s good, if it works.
The latest software update this week is faulty, and as a result, all appointment details have been removed from users’ accounts (even despite logging out and logging back in). Please fix ASAP.
I have tried to login to the app for over a week. It never gets past the login and sometimes goes to a white screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times. There seems to be no active link to app support so no way to get resolved.
This used to work fine but the latest update breaks the logged in account and does not allow you to reset passwords, create profile, acknowledge newly created profile. Poor quality control.
