Not sure why you folks think seeing “ACH Transfer” over and over is helpful. As others have stated, in the old app it showed on the screen to whom the money was being sent. Now I have to click into every single one. You really need to fix this. Making it look pretty and new only gets you so much if the design is not user friendly.
I started using this “new” app for two days now. I use it mostly to pay bills. As I have multiple credit accounts with some banks (Citi, Chase), I had created nicknames in the previous app for easy recall and payment management. And getting to the scheduled payments for review was a breeze with the previous app. This new app did not transfer the nicknames and does not permit adding them. So for now, I have to check each account number carefully every time I want to schedule a payment. This is annoying. Furthermore I have to click a few more times and have to find another pull down menu to get to the scheduled payment screen which is less obvious. The tiny font used on the new app makes it challenging for some folks with less than perfect eyesight. I wish the people at East West Bank had done better research before forcing customers over to use this “new” and terrible app. We don’t even get to try it first or return to the previous, user-friendly app.
Installed the app, tried to log in, and then found out my account was locked. Called the customer service, they said I might have apps that caused this to happen? What in the world? This is the first time I have heard this. Fix your app please. Otherwise just go back to the old app, this is basically unusable. I’m using two other banks’ mobile apps and none of them locked my accounts when I use the apps on my phone, why are you guys so special, use the excuse of security, but ruin customers experience? Maybe you need to hire someone who actually knows what they are doing? You are basically forcing people to buy new phones at this point. What a trash “upgrade”!
Déjame decirte que yo tengo cuanta East West por AÑOS. Estoy mas que feliz que al fin el app se puede hacer mucho. Pero como dije yo e tenido cuanto con EW por años y mi vista no es la mejor. Sería muy genial si es posible usar el dark mode y también que las letras y números se puedan hacer más BOLd y grande también. Gracias por esta nueva actualización! Let me tell you that I’ve had an account with EW for YEARS. I am more than happy that this app has finally arrived. But like I said I’ve had an account with EW for years and my health isn’t the best anymore. It would really help a lot if the app offers dark mode and a setting maybe where the letters and numbers can be bolder and/or larger as well. Nonetheless thank you for updating the app.
Improving an app = adding new features, not removing them... first thing that happened was my account is locked and I have to call service dept to unlock it which isn’t 24 hours and doesn’t tell you when they are open. Being a developer myself this is the exact example of what not to do in an app. You don’t shove a new app down people’s throats without adequate testing and some period where both apps will work. For the first time I’m considering moving all my accounts back to chase. Just spoke with support appears development and jailbroken devices are now considered malware... This ends my relationship with the bank.
“The amount entered is invalid. Please try again.” I have experienced this happening all the time during the past two weeks. I have to bring the checks to the branch to do the deposit. Except for this everything is fine.
Every time I try to search for a specific date or name of a transaction it always and when i mean always i mean 100% of the time always freezes up by the time I type in the 3rd letter or number. Whats the point of a search transaction bar if it causes the entire app to freeze up? I was thinking maybe its a temporary bug and that they would fix it. Its been about 4 months and this bug is still present and you would think that a bank would actually fix a bug like this by now. Asian bank that harms the asian clients rather than help them.
Although the interface is nice and clean look, but I cannot find the proof that I’ve already submitted mobile deposit. Even it is still pending, at least it could show that the deposit has been received but fund has not yet clear, too bad on this new app, it shows nothing. Also on the mortgage, it shows no details such as the interest rates or any information, unlike the old app. The new app need to do a lot of improvement.
I had a checking account for more than 10 years, and there is no single mistake during 10years and the bank statement gave me the canceled check both front and back after my checks had been cashed for the receipts as an evidence the payments for IRS audit. Both Managers and Tellers Manet are excellent. I am very proud of this bank in Chinese community.
The new app cut the service that I use the most and it disappeared on the new mobile app, sigh. They used to send me notice to my email on all transactions of $1 or over which I think it is most important and useful for me and that is the only service I use on mobile app s asks they cut it, but why they cut that important service? Very Disappointed! Bring that service back to our new mobile app please otherwise I don’t know what purpose to use this app for!
Unlike the old version, the new version takes extra click to see each activity details which is inconvenient and not user friendly. The new version also lacks the function for searching in the activities. There’s a search icon on top right of the activity page but the function is limited because it only works with the following keywords: “inbound/outbound/withdraw/transfer..” not the transaction/activity keyword?
This app needs improve,it's so hard to recognized check,I tried 6 time to take picture of the check today, and it still not recognized. Every time I need retake the picture for both side, can I just retake the side which not clear? And it doesn’t has manual option, you have to hold your phone for a while until it shows manual option. So hard to use, not user friendly.
Was able to get a debit card, see and monitor my transactions and turn my debit card off when not using. My favorite feature turn debit card off when not using. Great app..
I wish I could give them 0 stars. For the love of me, I’ve never had a worst experience with a bank. I opened an account on June 3rd and set up my online profile. A few days go by and I decided to deposit over 2300 in my account, after doing so my account “apparently” is in a closing state. Now they’re holding my money and refuses to let me get it. I’m very frustrated and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to bank here.

After the new app nothing works. Internal transfers take a couple days...doesn't refresh, transfer limit reset back to the min. Had to create a new account in order to make HELOC transfer to checking account. (Never had problems before). This has got to be the worst update ever. Because of all these limitations I will be looking to refinancing with another bank and taking my business else where. Such a shame
Since changed from Metro bank every stage of operation is near perfect mark appreciate their management for extra effort in keeping the customer happy.

This app is a joke. Everything was easy access and working fine before they redid everything. Just made everything worse and customer service is ridiculous as well. Didnt hello resolve anything at all. Account has been locked 3 times. I can log in on the desktop but once I try logging in on the app i’m blocked.
1. Unlike the old version, this new version only shows “inbound/outbound ACH” when you check the account history. It’s very annoying that you have to click each transaction to see who did u pay. 2. It would be more convenience if the sign out button is on the home page, next to the welcome greeting. 3. App freeze constantly.
The new App has a clean and calm look and feel. A refreshing change to me. Download and run of the App are both faster. App operation is stable. Have not experienced any malfunctions.

I am very disappointed why East West Bank still not support mobile pay like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay etc. Why East West Bank? Why? Now a day, a lot of banks support mobile pay already. That is very convenient and contact less specially the COVID-19 period. Please East West Bank come out mobile pay. Please!
Onboarding was a breeze. Easy to use and stable. Reliable customer support with quick turnaround time. Classroom videos provide helpful info! Love the Key Red envelope and Alipay transfer. Digital banking at its best!
Does not work for the iPhone X. I get a white login screen and cannot input my credentials. Please fix ASAP as I use the mobile app for all my banking needs. Another reviewer with the iPhone X has experienced the same issue.
In the iPhone when you see the check image in the translation . No button back to app previous page. You should close app then go back again . So troubled
The old version had a dated interface and mediocre user interface. Somehow this new app is worse. Online bill pay and checking account activities should be intuitive and it is just the opposite.
It doesn’t allow to log in saying that it requires a phone # to verify. I DO have a phone # registered for my account that has been there for about twenty years. I reviewed my settings in my account online and everything is up to date. But it still repeats the same thing. Sigh.
