I must say I wanted to like the app and at times I do but the other times not so much. I’m tired of trying to log into the app to get a “bad request” message 80% of the time. What do that even mean? At first I thought this was a pay week error but I have checks deposited into my account almost daily and this keep happening. This need to be looked into and fixed. I went to my local branch office and they couldn’t help me.
My husband and I have separate and joint accounts through this credit union and when the app changed, it made us jump through hoops to reconnect our accounts. Now, if one of us needs to transfer money to our joint account or to either of our individual accounts, we can only do a max of $500 and have to do a “secret phrase” and type in the phone number to send any money. If we try to send more money the following day, it will say we have exceeded the amount of money that can be sent in a day. Once the money is sent, it takes at LEAST 3 days for it to show the money deducted from the account it was transferred from. This is infuriating and makes it hard to keep track of how much money is ACTUALLY in the account. Which makes it difficult to get our bills taken care of smoothly. Also half the time, the facial recognition doesn’t work and won’t allow us into the app. The new app is a failure and is just making our lives more difficult than it needs to be.
I will admit I don’t visit the branch as often as I did prior to COVID. Every staff member I encounter is pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The education course offered is communicated very well and your encouraged to attend. Although there are times when the results are not in my favor, it is communicated with respect and dignity. I recommend this outstanding financial institution to all who is trying to save, invest and enjoy the same positive experience I have.
Not being a regular game-player or app user, it took me a while to learn each thing that I need to do with this app. But the people on the phone are very helpful and polite, and now that I have learned the basics, I find it very convenient.
I’m disappointed that the development team has refused to fix the “bad request” popup glitch that happens each time I try to log into my account on this app. It keeps me from seeing my account balance immediately, and forces me to stop everything I’m doing to close the app, reopen it, and login in that manner. What is worse is that since the new update, sometimes the bad request popup still happens even after I close and reopen the app. What happened to the Instant balance option? It’s like the dev team only cares about good looks and not actual functionality.
When ever I try to use external transfer or pay a person, it tells me “no account available for a2a” or “p2p”. It doesn’t even let me make an account for this either because when click “ok” it goes blank or direct me back “account.” I tried deleting and redownloading but nothing’s change. I even went to the bank itself and they told it’s some technical issues but till this day I still didn’t get it fixed.
Depositing checks at home, checking on balances, transferring between accounts, these and much more is now convenient and quick from home with this app. This app also lets me keep on top of my finances much better than when I had to come into a branch to do these things. Thank you for it.
This new app is really non functional from time to time. I never ever had any issues with the previous app. However, I’m not quite sure why ESECU can’t get this app working on a continuous basis. Disappointing and frustrating..
I’m so pleased I can still keep Ed Systems as my bank even though I now live in North Dakota. I needed some help at first to set up and use the Ed Systems app on my phone but now I can photo my checks for direct deposit right from home here in the mid west.
The Digital Banking app offers all of my account information at a glance. The mobile deposit feature is seamless and I love the notification that’s sent when the deposit is confirmed. Great app update!
I keep getting this error (bad request) when trying to login to the app on my phone. To get it to work properly, I have to remove the app and then reinstall it. I have called customer service and they were unable to help. This happens frequently. I don’t know what else to do but keep removing it and downloading it back on my phone to get it to work. Extremely frustrating!!!!!!
...transfer money from 3rd account to 2nd or 1st account. It only transfers from main acc to other ESFCU accounts. With old app I could. It also does not let u transfer from your other acc to the main acc vis web. This means that the upgrade is actually a downgrade done on purpose. No instant balance either!
Prefer the old app- this one malfunctions constantly!
I REALLY miss the old app. I never had any trouble logging in or using it in the 7 years I’ve been with the bank. Sure it was simple, but it worked. This new one might work HALF the time, if I’m lucky!!! Literally every other day when I try to log in it will say “bad request” or something along those lines. It’s incredibly frustrating! Either fix this app or bring back the old one, PLEASE.
This message keeps popping up and can’t logon for a few minutes. It gets annoying. Also, I click the “do not show again” button for the pop up ads and they keep coming back…
ESFCU is very trusted banking institution for educators like me. I’ve been a member since I started teaching. The services it offers are very client-friendly with low and affordable interest rates. Thank you staff of ESFCU.
The app is so easy to use, but indicates “bad request” way too often. Sometimes I have to delete and reinstall the app (which doesn’t always work) and it’s a huge hassle. Fixing this minor bug would improve the app greatly.
It would be nice if this bank would use locked cards like the rest of the banks. A lot is happening now a days we need to be able to lock out cards when they’re not in use.
Love the new app!! Great functionality that I’ve been wanting from my Credit Union including transferring money to another person or financial institution. Love it.
Update: App always says “bad request.” Takes quite a few tries before finally logging in. Face ID sometimes work, most often not. I have a couple of accounts, I have to enter each log in and password each time with each account. “Save user name” does not work.
I love ESFCU! I’ve been a member, since I was a teenager and my mother was a teacher in PGCPS. ESFCU has helped me with my finances in so many ways and on so many occasions! Thank you, ESFCU!
First of all i rarely have good expiriences at this bank. But the app seldom works. It always tells me I made a bad request. It won’t even recognize my account number and I won’t be able to sign in that day. I only have my truck loan with this bank and soon as it is paid off I’ll never use them again!
Another update and still hasn’t addressed the bad request issue. I’m not sure why or how you go through as many updates as you have since introducing this app a year ago and still have the same problems. Bad Request seems to be the login response about 50% of the time. And best of all, it always seems to happen when I need to check my balance the most. Come on, get the app fixed already. I’m really considering moving my banking to another institution because of this. You all need to get this resolved.
I am really frustrated with this new digital banking app. It is very unreliable when I need to log into my account, as each time I receive a message saying bad request. This is extremely frustrating, especially since I never had this issue with the old app.
I have five banking apps I use, two credit union and two conventional, and yours. There is no other banking institution that takes as long as yours to certify a mobile deposit. It’s a shame I have to wait four or five DAYS to access my money.
Multiple times a day I get the “bad request” error message. It won’t let me login with Face ID or with my username/password. Once you login the app is fine to use. It’s just very frustrating to get logged into.
The app is so glitchy, I can never log in because every time I try, it tells me “bad request”. On the off chance i CAN get in, all the transactions overlap so i never clearly see what they are. The old app was very rudimentary but at least it worked. Please fix.
The app has been unstable recently. Now every time I enter my password, I am locked out of my account. I deleted the app and started to just login via the web portal.
