Beautiful!
I only wish it had the “teacher” in the Brown Bear book that my preschoolers are familiar with, to better compliment that book. It is one all my students know and love. The illustrations are beautiful, and the different musical sounds for each animal, as well as the interactive feature where touch changes the color of animal to match the story, is wonderful.
My grandson loves the book, and this app is a great extension for him to play with. We love recording our own animal sounds, and sometimes record us saying the names of the animals, instead. At first the sound wasn’t working, but I emailed support, and someone responded promptly, the next day, with the exact suggestion I needed to make the sound work (by turning off the mute switch!).
The illustrations are fabulous, fun coloring the animals. Music much quieter (yes, I can turn it down) and the great story words would greatly aid the story!
Have tried deleting and reinstalling a few times but the issue persists… no sound effects or music when bear is walking. Can hear it when I’m in settings but when I X out still nothing. Says my device must be muted but other apps work with sound. Mic in enabled for app. Too bad cuz my son loves the book and loved this app before the sound quit
Brown Bear is my son’s favorite book at the moment. He loves this app and says the animals as they are coming up. I do wish there was more you can do with them, but as of now he’s satisfied with me hitting replay 10+ times in a row 😂
The colors match the animals like in the book, however it’s a rip off that literally they have the bear find each animal to make the “parade” and that’s it. My son was also asking what’s next because once you complete the parade in a minute worth of time, there is nothing else. Not worth the $4 and wish I wouldn’t have purchased it.
My son loves this app, but for some reason the sound does not work. I have tried everything and I am very tech savvy. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it. Please help!
My toddler really loves this app. We have had it for a while but within the past two days or so the sound doesn't work. Tried to rectify it under the menu but to no avail. Help!
I love when they make sounds I like the purple cat ,cause it’s my favorite Eric Carle stories are so cool even the hungry caterpillar I love the music in this app send story toys apps are so cool
I bought the app and my little one was excited to hear the story, but it doesn't do anything. There's no sound or story, all we can do is touch the screen and watch the beat walk around. I don't know what I'm supposed to do.
My two year old granddaughter has adored this app for the past year. It is a perfect introduction to an iPad with a self limiting story. There is a built in completion to it so at the end of the adventure she says and waves goodbye to all the animals. She knows who comes next and takes great delight recently in sending the bear back into his cave (at the beginning) giggling all the way. I recorded the animal voices before I showed it to her and she doesn't yet know she can record them herself. The music is pleasant and rhythmic and the art work does great justice to the original in the Brown Bear book. We recently discovered "Easter eggs" hiding in many of the plant clusters. Tap them once or twice and see what springs out of many of them. And keep your eye out for a tiny version of the Very Hungry Caterpillar! All in all a delightful and charming app for very young children. 5 stars!
I was a little skeptical based on some of the 1 star reviews for this app but after buying it I don't regret it. Now don't be fooled by the video. This does not read the book Brown Bear it only steels the characters likeness and takes you on a simple parade through the app with pleasant sounds. That narrator from the video is not apart of the app. This app is great, super interactive a beautiful atmosphere with pleasant audio interactions. It leverages the gyroscope to make you feel like you are apart of the parade. You tap on the screen to lead the bear around and find new animals. The way it encourages interaction is genius. I am an iOS developer, not for this company, but would be proud to have my name on anything like this. My kid cries when I tell him his has to stop playing it, it's that good. Then at the end you sit in a circle and can record sounds for each animal making it your own personal parade. That is pretty much it. Their are some hidden gems throughout, basically everything can me interacted with, but that is about it. I could see it getting pretty boring after a bit but I have more then one kid and I will get my $1.99 USD worth of entertainment out of it. Would still suggest for anyone looking for wholesome kid games that inspire discovery.
This app is adorable and the graphics are wonderful. The game is too short, however, for the price. The whole thing can be done in about 5 minutes and then your only option is to do the exact same thing again. My daughter enjoyed it the first time but now she's bored and I wasted $3 for 15 minutes of enjoyment. When the description mentioned "coloring the animals" I assumed the child got to pick the colors but in fact you just tap the animal and it automatically colors it a pre-designated color. There just isn't enough to do. I expect some add-ons in the future.
I was really looking forward to sharing this app with my granddaughter, who loves the book. However, there is no story, no sound, nothing other than the very attractive graphics. Music notes appear above the animals, but there is no music. It appears there is some way to add sound, but there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO instructions on how to use the app to add sounds or music.
My 1 year old loves the book Brown Bear Brown Bear. We occasionally use this when we don't have the book and she loves it. It's saved us on airplane flights and waiting in lines. It's interactive enough for her to actually play with it. She loves the butterfly game too. She loves knocking down the fruit from the trees and seeing the caterpillar play with the toys and sail on the raft to see the rubber duckies and the fish.
So it's pretty nice imagery, but that's about it. There's no narrator reading the story out loud. There's no animal sounds already in place. There's not really much you can do but walk around and coloring in all the animals and repeat. It's not worth the money. I thought it was going to be an interactive story that my daughter can interact with but it's not really anything close to that. Hopefully updates in the future make this app worth the money.
I thought there would be a story or something on this app. All it is is a bear walking around and then coloring in the animals you pass by clicking on them 2-3 times. It's not even close to worth the money. My little one was board in about 2 seconds
Great - you added a cave to the game but still haven't fixed having sounds and music actually work. Not in silent mode, volume all the way up and still radio silence. Get it together...
I love reading this story to my grandson, and thought this would be a nice addition. Boy was I wrong. It is a waste of money. He's bored after 10 mins and wants to know what's next? I hope this app will make some improvements.
This was the one time I bought an app without reading the reviews and that was a huge mistake. This app should have been free. It is not interactive and it is an utter joke.
