The app is fine for what it is but why isn’t there support to add the Auto ID Cards to the Apple Wallet? If I ever need access to the insurance cards, I don’t want to have to go rooting around in the app to find them when I can just double click on the button on the side and have it pop right up in the Apple Wallet. This is something that every company that has a “card” for their service should include in their app. If all I wanted was the ability to go into a menu list of places to find information, I can do that by going to the regular website using a browser. Come on Erie, let’s get this feature added.
This is fine for a basic app to access my policies. However my primary reason for downloading the app was to get a copy of my insurance card to save on my phone. Unfortunately this developer chooses a PDF format that can’t be saved as a photograph and can’t be added to apple wallet. my old insurance company had the ability to save my insurance cards to my Apple wallet. That allowed me to access them 24/7 without any Internet connections at all. unfortunately I have to log into the app pick the ID card select the vehicle get the ID and view the PDF all within the app. This is incredibly cumbersome. How disappointing in 2022!
I pay my premiums online with a desktop computer since that’s where I save receipts and do bookkeeping, etc, so I really only have this app as a way to access my ID card. It’s insane that it’s about to be 2022 and they still don’t support adding your Insurance ID Card to the Apple Wallet. Like, Office Depot supported that with their shopper rewards card 5 years ago. Erie, you seriously need to get with the times - you’re the only major insurance provider that hasn’t added this feature to their app.
I wanted to pay my Erie premium and tried to paste my 16-digit account #, but your app is broken and I couldn’t do it. If the inability to paste in your app is by design, that is poor design. Then the app defaults to the full keyboard instead of a 10-digit keypad, which has larger keys and you’re less apt to mistype with the big numbers. I wanted to send you a support ticket instead of blasting my displeasure in a public forum but when I tapped App Support from the store it took me to the Erie home page, not app support. Now I’m doubly irritated, but at least my bill is paid. Hope I didn’t use someone else’s acct via typo 🤷🏻♀️.
Can’t export policy info, but it will take my payments
The point in having this app was to pay my bill and export my policy documents. You can guess which part actually works, of course the part that takes your money. You go to your policy declaration, hit the arrow to share, and the app freezes! Fix this app!
Being able to make a payment, having ID cards that you can print/text/email, seeing your coverage Dec pages, checking your claim status, your payment history and future payments are all wonderful! Only thing better would be able to submit a claim with photos thru the app. Please offer that. Also having a live chat option while in the app.
This app is basic and great for fetching information quickly, but it doesn’t adhere to many iOS design standards. Password managers (like LastPass) don’t work. I have a balance but can’t do anything through the app. Back buttons should always allow you to tap on their corresponding text, but they don’t. Billing documents only shows “feature not available.” For this little amount of functionality, I’d rather it just give me the option to add cards to Wallet. Which is something that it really should offer.
Every single time I want to log into this app to look at my bill or anything else, it tells me incorrect password. Then half of them time it says it will send me an email to change my password but it never does. I have to create an online account every time. I am not forgetting my pw. It will allow me to use it once to log in and then it makes me complete an account to get back in. Update since your auto response: I uninstalled and reinstalled your app and still have the same issue. We appreciate the great auto insurance rate (not so much the homeowners) but it is pretty ridiculous how bad you are with technology. I would rather pay higher insurance premium and be able to log into my insurance app then deal with what you offer.
It’s kind of pointless. I mean you can’t even get ID cards. And…can’t even get ID cards logging in directly on the website. Says “feature currently unavailable”. Look I appreciate the no frills insurance with a good low priced premium (I left another big company cause I kept seeing my rates go up and up and up…all seemingly to fund their stupid flo commercials). But come on…I think you can handle making ID cards available.
I read the above review about the white screen. I had the same experience but I waited and waited and waited. It took a long time just in a blank white screen mode (about one minute) before the log in screen comes up. After that it is smooth sailing. Glad to have an app right at your finger tips.
Like others have said, this needs the ability to add a digital proof of insurance to the Wallet. Perhaps modernize the apps interface a bit as well with newer design language. But really the missing feature is the Wallet syncing.
I was having issues with the app not opening and today I reinstalled it and it’s working again. Although I went through all the same steps yesterday and it would not open and all I got was the Erie logo page!
I downloaded this app so I can see when my payment is due. Every time I click on the auto or homeowners button, it tells me billing information not available for policies on account billing. It doesn’t show when the last payment was made either. The only thing I can do is make a payment. It does not let you get reminders of when your payment is due. Not a great app.
At one time I could make payments thru the app even though it said I have “account billing” which in itself is crazy! No matter what type you have you should be able to make payments through the app! Now all it’s saying is “Something went wrong… yada yada”. Is this fixable or do I need to go to the actual website??!
I recently changed to Erie and was excited to see they had an app. Unfortunately the app won’t open on my 14 Pro Max on 17.2. Hopefully this is something they are working on. The app is in fact working as advertised now:)
Sends me a link to verify my account and says it’s expired. Then let’s me log in anyway even though I got an apparently expired link. Logs me out while I’m active in the app and then asks me if I’m still there. And when I try logging via web to get an online version of my insurance card, I discover that after all of this effort, they don’t have the insurance cards, just the policy documents. Bad, really bad.
I do not have auto pay set up. My bill is not due. I made a payment on my upcoming bill, there was still a remaining balance which is still not due as I type this, yet they have taken the rest of what will be due in a couple days without my authorization or having auto pay set up!! Pay me the overdraft fees you just cost me on my EARLY payment that you STOLE!
The initial login screen is badly mis-aligned. You can’t see what you’re typing. Also, it is not in landscape mode on the iPad. After several failed tries I managed to log in by typing the login information “blindly.” Please make the iPad version work in landscape mode. I have an iPad with a keyboard and always use it in landscape mode, somewhat like a laptop computer. Thanks.
I spoke with customer service in January 2022. I was advised that the app “has insurance ID cards” as one of its features. I question that saying that I had just read reviews that said otherwise. The rep assured me that the ID cards were available. That is not true. What a strange app not to have such a basic and important component available!
I’m a new customer of Erie, so I went looking for the app. Obviously I found it. But now I have to go find a computer because the register a new account link is dead. It’s a good thing I have a laptop.
I have “finished setting up my account” 3 times already but every time I go to log in it Denys me access stating the account isn’t finished being set up but it doesn’t prompt me to do anything. Customer service claims I have to finish setting up my security questions which I’ve done multiple times.
On my iPhone, facial recognition works sporadically. I recently had a spinning arrow in a circle that I could only eliminate with a cold restart. On my iPad, I get the “time expired” message with no way to clear it. Touching the Home Screen, as invited, only throws me back to the time message or kicks me out of the app. This is among the most incompetently coded and useless apps that I have ever seen.
App worked fine for about a year but one day when I logged in to make a payment it wouldn’t load my policy. Nothing was showing unlike before so I deleted and redownloaded the app and still nothing. I've had to call my local office to make a payments ever since and that’s kinda annoying.
The last 10 times I have tried to login using Face ID it won’t let me in. I have to shut my iPhone down and restart for it to work. This is really bad and I see reviews from other app users who have been having the same problems.
This is a good start but is missing roadside assistance which is the main reason to have an insurance app on your phone. I should be able to hit a button and be connected directly to roadside assistance. With location services enabled, they would have my location and car information.
I received an email notifying me that the app was available. I was happy to have that option, because my previous insurance company did. How disappointing. I wonder if this indicates the quality of their customer service?
Pros: the design is simple and easy to use. Cons: the app is excruciatingly slow and unresponsive. As someone who works in application development I'm surprised this made it out of QA as acceptable. Every..... single.... tap results in waiting, waiting, waiting while the progress indicator spins away. That really needs to be addressed.
The app is great and works phenomenal. What I liked about Geico & Progressive was being able to add your vehicle ID card to your apple wallet. Please Erie add this feature 🙏🥺
How many times do I have to enter my login data? I only use this a few times a year and it is terribly inconvenient. Remembers nothing, like I’m a new user every time. I know it can be better. Keep trying.
Dark mode, Apple Wallet support, and actually scaling properly to the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be nice. Love my agent and the coverage and service Erie gives but the app is definitely multiple steps down from State Farm’s, for example.
Since the latest update 3 days ago the app stopped working. Absolute CRAP!! Update: I deleted and then reinstalled the app and it is working now. Thanks for your response
I was having trouble with the app not loading or opening at all. I never get to a login screen, it’s just stuck on the logo… so I deleted and redownloaded the app but the behavior is still the same. Something is broken.
iphone app is non responsive meaning that i can’t access anything by touch other than the burger menu which doesn’t have a payment link. None of the other buttons work.
I use apps for all my household accounts and credit cards to check balances and pay bills, so I downloaded this app thinking it would be useful.... wrong! The only available policy to view or pay is a homeowner policy and nothing else! C’mon Erie, get with the times and make this app work for all policies!
I’ve spent 2 weeks with customer service and my agent and still can’t set up an online account. I’m truly frightened for switching to this company. Impossible to review an app you can’t even log into.
Unfortunate to get a 1 star review for your app not working when there’s numerous reviews mentioning it and the instructions you providing (uninstall, update reinstall) not working either. Love Erie Insurance but the tech product side of your company is slacking or under funded.
This app is super slow and lacks basic functionality like saving your id card to your apple wallet. What’s the point even having an app when it’s so slow and you can’t save if card to wallet.
Can’t get past the Erie logo to a sign on screen. I have the latest version and uninstalled and reinstalled app multiple times and nothing changes. I give it a one star only because I can’t give anything lower.
Erie insurance app does not open. Waited over two minutes at the start-up screen, nothing happened. UPDATE: with the latest update, it now throws an immediate error message: “unable to open, please contact your systems administrator”
App does not show up on Home Screen on my iPhone 7 Plus have to open through App Store even then only Erie insurance logo comes up never allows access to features of app. My phone is fully updated.
