I love Evan’s bank good banking people and friendly when you go into bank. Understanding and helped me with a couple of my issues. Only thing I wish was fixed was the face scan for the mobile app hasn’t worked since latest update but everything else is easy to use
Ever hear that sang "if it isn't broke, don't fix it?" That's how I feel about this app being replaced with the old Evans app. Not to mention, the process with this new app was such a headache! I was locked out of my account twice because of the app and lack of communication with Evans and its customers. I've also had to experience a 30 minute phone call just to get unlocked out of my account the first time. Oh and the fact that it still denies your password the first time you log in. But the second try always works. Just so aggravating. I miss the old app. I miss the texts Evans used to send at 9am. Nothing needed to be fixed.
It is very difficult to determine what the balance of your accounts are because so many things you deposit sit as pending. Does pending mean it will get added to your account balance or is it already included in your account balance.? It seems as though cash should be automatically added to your balance but it is not. Direct deposits from payroll should be automatically added but they are not. Sometimes it takes two days or three days…
This app has had repetitive random problems. It has locked me out and customer service is virtually useless. When you get a new phone it can take 3 days to be able to use the app. Challenge questions are not mine but garnered from credit reported sources, some of which are wrong. Customer service response is there’s nothing they can do about it. It’s a good bank but a horrendous app. Very, very frustrating.
I see Evans Bank constantly touting their business performance, but their consumer banking experience is stuck in the early 2000s. The app lags behind almost every other bank in the WNY area and they still do not support Apple Pay. Not to mention that this new app does not work on the iPhone XS Max, which is ridiculous. If you are considering opening an account at Evans Bank and want anything other than ATM and teller service, look elsewhere. I have been a customer with Evans for over 30 years and will be moving my accounts elsewhere based on my experience with their online banking services.
Part of the reason for having a mobile banking app is so I don’t have to go to the bank. About 75% of the time this app isn’t working and I have to go to the bank. If I could give it negative points I would!🤦🏽♂️
Card declines (when we checked we have more than enough money, won't let us use it), won't let us log in to our account ever and we have called mulitple times. They won't let their customers know they are having issues and we have had to call multiple times to find out what is going on. It's embarrassing and not professional. Made us pay a 50 dollars for no good reason when we still had momey on an account. I can go on...it's just terrible.
Was able to use it at first though it has not been working. It was really not what had liked to of happened. Always have mobile apps & this is important.
Evans may have friendly tellers, but their online banking and app are the worst of any bank I’ve seen in my 30 years of banking. Features are very limited and the user interface feels like 1999 (ugly and difficult to navigate). I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to transfer money from another bank – I don’t even think it can be done. There’s a ‘Help’ button, but virtually nothing of use there. Frustrating.
Banking with Evans is fairly good and it’s employees are terrific. This app is not. No access to our mortgage, HELOC, or credit card from the app which is puzzling as that seems fairly straightforward. The bill pay function is awful; practically unusable. The website bill pay is also difficult. The user interface is from 2006.
The app is lacking in features other banks have, but my biggest issue is that face recognition is broken and has been for a very long time. Uploading checks to your account is easy and convenient though.
My mortgage was sold to these dummies so now i have this app. There’s a lot of bad apps out there but this is the BY FAR the worst app I’ve ever used. It makes no sense. You can’t find anything. There are features missing from the app that are on the desktop website... such as “messages”. How can you not have “messages” on your app?! Whoever made this app has no business designing applications. Find a new job dummy!
I have been an Evans customer for many years and I am strongly considering switching banks, mostly due to the app. On any given day, I would say I have maybe a 10% chance of the app working. Sometimes it’s fine, most of the time it’s buggy and I’m not able to access my account information at all. Very disappointing.
I keep getting notifications that this app will not recognize my phone and will not allow me to log in. Customer service, while nice and trying to be helpful can not offer any solutions to fix this problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. One day it works, the next it will not. I miss the old version of this app.
IT is supposed to make things better and safer. Who ever is doing EVANS Bank IT is killing their business. I can never get into my account the first try. This app is so frustrating, I’ll probably close my accounts and go with another bank.
This is the greatest bank I have done business with, my bank in on Delaware, in Buffalo New York, the staff is awesome, especially the branch managers Cameron!
Might actually switch banks just because of the app. Will not let me log in ever, have been to the bank to fix the solution, 2 months later, can’t log in again. When everything is online, a bank can’t afford to have a bad online banking app. On top of it all, it’s pretty unattractive.
Haven’t been able to use the app for months. Using iPhone 8 with updated iOS, the app needs to be updating desperately. Very frustrating not being able to quickly log on and check balances or do mobile deposits, etc.
The app is very inconsistent, frequent errors logging in. I have had issues with mobile deposits being recognized within a reasonable timeframe (3+ days). I am frequently locked out of my account due to errors.
Forces you to use a text message for multi factor authentication but does not support the recent feature in iOS which lets you fill it in automatically from the text. Want to see your interest rate, statements, loan details? Too bad. Those are not features.
I don’t know where to begin except that I can never get logged in! I have to call every time I use this program and the call contact has NO patience! I need a new bank. Call me!
How does the bank not address the 1.6 star rating? I should have looked at this prior to switching our family’s banking to Evans. Would love to know why they can’t figure this out.
I’m new to Evans bank and I have to say in my opinion they are a few years behind with this app. It is very basic and doesn’t offer many features other banks offer today in their apps.
Transactions are pending for too long. Venmo transactions are pending for days as well. ATM deposits are pending for days. Whereas other Banks a cash deposit is an instant transfer.
Frequently buggy, Face ID sign on does not work, requires resetting of password often. These hiccups have caused delay in transactions. Cannot recommend.
Takes forever to log on. Touch ID never works You can’t name your different accounts Can’t transfer to outside banks Layout of the app is just wrong Take a look at the usaa app or chase and literally copy their flow Whoever designed this should be fired.
This app is awful. You cannot view your account information(account number, routing number) with in the app. You can’t sent up a bank transfer within the app, and it also doesn’t offer any king of instant transfer app, such as Zelle. Also this app is a pain the butt to navigate. 0/10 would not recommend.
Some how this “bank,” is publicly traded on the NYSE. A 5-year old child who can barely code, could develop a better app. If I could I would give this app, “Zero” stars!
I downloaded this app because every time I go on line I have to answer 5-10 “security questions” which is a pain in the butt. I went through the process to set it up and the next time I log in I have to answer more security questions. I answer the questions appropriately and it tells me that they can’t verify that it is me and block me from my account. Now I’m blocked for the next 6 days until I have time off so I can waste my time going to the bank to rectify the situation,
