This app is amazing, but sometimes it doesn’t really work that well, sometimes when I try to extract an RAR. file, I get an ERROR message saying “invalid format”, even though I extracted RAR. files before and I never got that message. Why is it doing this? I don’t know. Still its a great app, I just wish I knew how not to get the “ERROR invalid format” message, so 4 out of 5 is what I’ll give this app.
Great application, recommeded to all mac users for easy extraction. The only thing i dont like is apple telling me that it doesn’t recongnize the developer and sometimes gives the extraction a walk around process to fully work. other than that its great. Downloaded a ZIP file that was 6.7 gb and opened very smoothly, some people were complaining they could open files or corrupted files with winrar , i would have flash backs thinking of it but this is great.
While some of these reviews that aren’t five star hold truth, this extractor is great for pulling most of the files I’ve messed with, as well as dealing with those of you use to the Windows Platform and WinRAR, or other extractors. Basic summary, if you’re looking for an extractor that isn’t a hastle, and doesn’t cause trouble, then this will be a great fit for you. Hope this review helps, Peace Out.
this is one of those must have little programs that cost very little and helps with archived files that you get and need to open up. There are fancier more expensive programs that do the job and have more features, but for very basic needs to extract this is the one to get!
I have always hated the task of finding a good file extractor online. They were a total hassle because of the ads and junkyare that came with them. Not only is this file extractor free ’ it does what it’s supposed to do and it does it very well. I recommend this to everyone who needs a good file extractor. Please keep up the good work!
If you’re in need of a file that needs some extracting such as a zip or rar file, you can count on Extractor to get the job done. It has been my go-to application for that purpose and it never fails. I’m only speaking as a casual user who uses it for simple everyday extracting purposes. It’s perfect for me and hopefully every other casual user.
I occasionaly need to extract .rar folders sent to me Extactor is easy to use and I have no issues opening the folders and the enclosed files. Thanks for making a no nonsense App thats easy to use.

I had some troubler on my mac with other extractors and Archive utilies with permissions. This application asked me once and has worked ever since. Beautuful!
As someone who switched from Windows and was used to WinRAR, I was missing having a software that will replace WinRAR on my Mac. Extractor came to the rescuse and has been amazing since day #1. Kudos.
OneDrive zipped archives would not open with Apple Archive Utility. The archive opened first time with this Extractor App. There are advertisements on first opening the app.
Trying to open one ZIP file it kept popping up ads, then asks for permissions to access the computer, then instead of showing the contents of the archive it pops up a chooser window that doesn’t allow me to choose any file/folder/archive.
I hade a 33GB zip file from 2013 that did not extract with the built in apple software. I tried RAR Extractor RAR Unarchiver, Unzio One, ans Unzip-RAR Zip, non worked. This software did.
I am not sure how these writting such good favorite can unzip a file by this app because like the one I encounted "Invalid Format" error once unarchiving a zip file. Not waist your time like me to download and install this app at your lovely Mac.
