I thought this was a E-ZPass MA app. According to E-ZPass MA there is no affiliation and I should delete and erase all my information. It works till I updated my payment details on the app and then received a letter from E-ZPass MA saying I need to update my payment because what they have on file isn’t working! That’s when I called and I started putting the pieces together and really looking into the app fine print. Found customer service phone number and guess what? A recording saying we are unavailable at this time.. blah blah blah!!! … It does work but I don’t want to take the chance on one day it doesn’t and have no way to contact a live person..
I swear I checked earlier this year for an app and the outcome resulted in a frown. I was on the website earlier today and IDK what made me think to check the App Store about but I’m VERY GLAD I did! This app (which is not associated with EZ Pass or MassDOT) has done a fantastic job with designing a clean, easy to navigate and concise with your information. Do you know how much easier it is to add/remove a vehicle (especially a rental) on the fly? This app not only let’s you check your account but you can also update some information that reflects on your actual account and whatever you cannot add/update, you are redirected to visit the website. The state should know about this app and invest into it! I’m truly excited. Perhaps in another release or revision... TouchID? Thank you!
Used this to register a rental car. Worked the first time. I think it must be bugged, because now when I log in my own car that I registered is gone. I tried to register a car with NY plates and it says that I need to pick a license plate type but it does not have any license plate types for me to select. Not very a useful or reliable app.
The amount of money you have in the app always shows up as red, which always makes me think I’m forty bucks in the hole until I get to a PC and check the site online. This is terrible UI and absolutely useless for anyone who’s colorblind. Ideally the amount of money you have would be black, and a negative sign would be applied if you are in the hole. Other than that the app is extremely bare bones but does its job. Meh about the service fee, I get that payment processors need to take their cut and it’s more of a convenience fee for me than anything.
This app is a fake! The state of Massachusetts EZ pass does not acknowledge this app. The money you put on your account does not go to your MA transponder. They money goes into the cloud somewhere. When asking Mass EX pass they say it’s a 3rd party company and they take no responsibility for the mo eat that was put in the account and you are still responsible for all payments. Your money why is lost! This is a fake app! Please do not get stuck in the same spa it I am thousands down the drain on this app and now I still owe all e pass fees along with major fines now. Massachusetts, please shut down this app and help the people of the state get there money back!
I guess you get what you pay for and it’s quite a parent that this company cannot afford real IT people to create a decent app. The amount of money that you have on file should not be in Red. If it is positive it makes me think I am in the negative. This is such a convoluted app and should be redone by proper people who know what they are doing. This just might be one of the worst apps ever!! They don’t know how to use a proper plus sign or a minor sign. Someone still in school in their first year probably designed this app. Absolutely awful.
This app is not associated with the MA DOT, which I was told in person by a rep in their office. I got billed a huge amount and letter of non-payment, but I’d been paying into this app for over a year. Meaning they accepted tons of payment, even the location tolls mostly looked consistent. So, I paid them tons of money, they had my location data, and my financial info. It’s a scam.
This app is broken, has been for a long time. There is no way to select a plate type when adding a new vehicle and thus no way to add a new vehicle. Told them about it and they have done nothing…. So stupid!!!
When looking at recent activity, or searching for a given window of activity, if there are more than 4 results, I can’t scroll down to see more...it’s a static window. Scrolling doesn’t appear to be an option. That said, thanks for making a relatively easy-to-use app for this...the mobile site was far being adequate.
This app is as bad as living within Massachusetts itself. The official website is trash and so is the app. Massachusetts just loves taxing us for nonsense 🤦🏾♂️
So, at 1:35 AM on the 26th you try to add a rental car. ‘Start date may not be in the past’. Ok. That’s the time it autopopulated, but we can change it. Of course we will likely hit the first toll in ten minutes... Oops. Only option is 2:00 AM (30 minute intervals because apparently time is too difficult for computers). Nope - same error. Oh. We are in a different time zone - perhaps that’s the problem. Set to 3 AM, 4 AM... Finally get it to work at 7 AM (perhaps the app uses GMT without indicating that?). Ready to head out of the parking lot. One final review - start date is now set to 5/6/2021; almost two years in the future. Well, yes, that isn’t in the past, but it is also completely impractical. Ended up taking non-toll roads. When you have an app for adding date and time sensitive items it would be a good idea for it to be precise, clear and functional. Had I not checked there’s a good possibility I would have driven through and not realized the toll wasn’t collected until weeks later when the rental company billed me. Please address - Adding time on minute or five minute intervals - Clearly indicating time zone - Ensuring that the date and time are accurate; adding a rental two years in the future should be validated by the software - better, the software shouldn’t set it in the first place contrary to the user setting - Allow for retroactive times with clear messaging that any tolls already incurred will not be processed, assuming that’s the case. Dumb, but trying to balance things. - Present a confirmation screen that is committed. I have the screenshots of the set screen and the edit screen - they aren’t the same.
Picked a rental car at BOS. Added to the app with starting time 16:22. Got charged for earlier tolls because according to massDOT my rental time started at 12:22. Listed end time as 13:00, five days later, and was told that the end time was 9:00. I live on the east coast so there’s no a time zone difference. Now I’m being charged with 3 tolls and they’re denying my dispute
Do not use if need for convenience in rental car situation. Went to add vehicle and supposedly went through but never picked up car so have to pay MORE through rental agency for tolls. Also not secure if using credit card. Use if really need to know balance.
App does not display correctly on iPhone 6. They also HIDE the fact they charge 10 percent fee. Scam. Deleted the app. I give one star. Would give less if had the option.
There’s a service charge for using this app to add funds. It should be free just like the website. I’ll just keep using the site. No reason to pay extra in an app.
These people have been charging my card every time it drops below $10.00 but EZdrive Ma have never gotten a penny from them. So i got an invoice now from EZ drive owing them $46.20 after a month and a half of supposedly making payments . Fake !!!
