A New Twist on an Old Classic
This New Twist on an Old Classic, brings a breath of fresh air to the Final Fantasy Mobile Games Lineup. From the familiar stories and cast to the new ways to play. This game will have you building a team of your favorite FFVII to play through story content or farm raids, events and dungeons. Much like other Hero Collection games from Square. You can summon (Draw) new versions and skins of the memorable cast to level and upgrade, and take into battle. You can pick from the systems Auto Assigned party or Tailor your party to what you like and best fits the situation. Updated traffics and cut scenes from the FFVII remake blend well to give you a look into the story of the world as well as new stories and some not so known. But most of all we can now have a party with Zack Aerith and Cloud! As a Free to Play gamer there is plenty of opportunity to earn Blue Gems Shards that are used to summon (Draw) heros and weapon upgrades through completeing content, daily quests and missions and joining randome raid parties. So jump in and see what The World of Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis has to offer.

Good and F2P
I’ve played this game since day 1 and despite being able to auto almost everything except high power content, it has been very enjoyable and very F2P. The game is all pve and you aren’t competing with other players. You don’t have to summon on most banners because old gear are all still very viable. The banner rates have been pretty fair for me so far. The Chocobo stamp board is the pity system and it’s better than other gacha games I’ve played because you can get the banner weapon and costume guaranteed and can hit pity faster with the chance of getting more than 1 stamp from summoning. I only have 2 big complaints with this game. The first one is that the stamina cap should be a lot higher and have a faster recharge time. You’ll burn through stamina very quickly because of the x9 stamina usage, meaning you’ll only be able to do 1-2 runs and if you don’t have stamina boosters or don’t wanna spend crystals for stamina then that’s it your pretty much done playing. The second thing is that currently costumes are gone forever when their banner is gone. There’s a lot of old costumes that I wished I had but I can no longer get and newer players can never get them. Just slowly add a few older costumes at a time into the costume exchange shop, all the costumes currently in that shop are bad and it will make buying the costume exchange tickets actually worth getting.

Good, but issues
I am a regular gacha player, and have put hours into several Square Enix based Gachas. Ever Crisis is fun, but there are a few glaring issues. At my current place in story mode, it’s detrimental to manually play. The AI is so advanced, and plays perfectly, that you’re punished for not using auto play. For example, I came across a quest that was recommended 3,300 power, and I was at 5,000. I couldn’t beat it. I put it on auto mode, and it cleared the quest easily. The interface is a pain. You can’t collect quest rewards from the mission tab. You “collect them” and they’re sent to your mailbox, where you actually collect them. It’s similar to FFBE WoTV, and I always felt it was an unnecessary step. My final complaint comes from the monetization. So far, I haven’t felt the need to spend money. The issue is how often you’re bothered with buying something. There is a gold highlight tab on certain menus, to let you know if there is a quest complete, or you have new items. To get the gold highlight to go away, you click on it, and it’s gone. On the MTX menus, you can’t make the gold highlight go away. It stays there flashing, trying to entice you to spend. That’s the only reason I can think of, that the gold highlight doesn’t go away. Square, you’re better than that juvenile predatory stuff. I’m willing to give this game a few weeks/updates, but it’s not really exciting me. I know others are loving it, but I’m not hooked.

Disappointing, but understandable…
I was hoping for at least the entire storyline of the original favorite, but none of the three are completed. In fact, all three are barely started into the secrets of the three storyline. Slightly disappointed in the way materia and summoning is also handled; haphazardly redone from the original to only go up in level with materials that must be either hunted down or purchased with nothing about experience of use. Of course this could have been incredibly complicated if it was done the old way since there are also tons of various weapons each character can use and they changed that as well, having the weapons playing as two “main” weapons, one ahead of the other, as well as two “sub” weapons that could be anyone’s. There are also outfits to be won or purchased. All of this is confusing and takes away from the stories. On top of all of that, the stories have been broken up into parts. There is very little in the way of exploration. I don’t expect to be able to go into Cloud’s world and travel all over the place as I did the first time at all. While all of this is highly disappointing, for what it is, it is also understandable given what they were trying to do. And I will still play it. At least until they finish it.

Lots of features getting worse
Great game but it’s definitely pay to play as you progress. The features draws, even the ones you pay for are so much worse than ticket draws. Featured draws supposedly have a higher chance for 4 and 5 star weapons but the passed 11 draws only gave me an x1 block and all 3 star weapons and none of them are the weapons I selected that I need. Ticket draws always give me at least 2 4 star and 1 5 star but I never actually get that from paid draws. It’s not worth it at all to pay for draws. The soldier pass that’s supposed to give you 4x rewards from battles only actually gives you the 4x every 5 battles not every battle like you pay for. Trying to provide feedback never works either it won’t allow me to copy the email to actually send to support and report anything. Every time I increase characters in levels my actual damage done goes down even if I increase my attack level. I don’t know what you guys are doing to the stats in this game but it’s not what you advertise. Otherwise it’s good to get started and maybe play occasionally. Provide what you advertise and I’ll actually put money into it again because the game is just getting worse to the point I don’t really wanna play anymore. Update 10 minutes later. I just did a 4 star guaranteed draw and every weapon was 3 stars. Honestly please don’t waste your money it won’t help you in any way.

A mixed bag
This was a lot more disappointing than expected. The main games are watered down abridged versions with a new coat of paint. The new visuals look great including the new chibi models which animate beautifully and actually mirror the cosmetics you unlock. The arranged versions of old music is nice but the way the story is presented is very jarring. Scenes just end with no smooth transition. Combat is very simple and but good enough for mobile. It seems to open up much later. I HATE the UI. Atrocious presentation with menus under more menus. The navigation is abysmal. It just looks like a cluttered mess. There’s also way too much loading for certain repeat cutscenes just for the gacha pulls. It doesn’t even feel satisfying when you Draw. Moving from screen to screen is not seamless or intuitive. Why? When games like Genshin Impact and Honkai exist, how is this still possible? There’s also a lot of technical issues with the app that other reviews have mentioned. Because of this, I won’t even spend a single dime on this game. Not worth the risk. This is going to be a pure F2P for me. The main draw for me to keep playing are the cosmetics. They’re fun to collect.

Perfection
One complaint i have is when you enhance materia it only shows if the materia is equipped or not it doesn’t say who it is equipped to. I have multiple load outs with the same type of materia on different characters but you can’t see which character is actively holding the materia unless you jump into edit party so I’ve been having to switch back n forth just to see which character is actively holding the materia I’m enhancing. There’s gotta be a more streamlined way like how about instead of an ‘E’ icon above the materia when we are enhancing like a little character icon or something better to see who is actively holding the materia you are enhancing. Unless I’m just not seeing something I should see that’s my one complaint so far with the game and I finished both ff7 and crisis core stories and well on my way through the first soldier story so I think I gotta pretty good grasp on what I’m doing. Game is near perfection if not perfect but if I were to complain that’s the only issue with me.

Very Disappointing
As a long time FF7 fan, I waited with great anticipation for this game. I was super excited straight from the announcement. I was a little peeved that it was a gatcha game at first but I still continued to play and enjoy it but as time went by, more and more issues arose. It’s nearly impossible to get 5 star materia infact it’s ridiculously rare, the draws are predatory, and it also became very clear that only certain characters got weapons and outfits, while others were either constantly neglected (like Barret and Red XII) but even with the characters that did receive gear, some got way better designs. Characters like Aerith and Zack got way better designs than any of the other characters. Cloud, Tifa and others got low quality lazy designs. Aerith got two princess dresses and more pulls than almost any other character, and the duel heroine that she shares equal importance with, Tifa was given a raggedy top for her first outfit, with holes in her top. Then was completely neglected for a Nibelheim themed event, in favor for Aerith who had no ties to that location as wasn’t even in the story event. It shows a fundamental disregard for the story and characters and as a fan of both, I don’t appreciate it. Therefore I will be deleting this app and no longer spending any money on it.

This is my favorite game
I’ve always gotten prompt help if I’ve had an issue. Customer service and the tech team are a dream to work with for any problem I’ve had. It’s exactly what I would expect from a company that genuinely loves their games and their fans. I am experiencing an issue with the game freezing often despite the free space on my phone but that could just be because my phone is old (it’s an iPhone 11) and I can’t replace it until next March’s work bonus. I know before I complained about too many stamina potions, but since you added the option to use up to 9x the amount of stamina, now there is not enough. I take back my words from before with my sincere apologies. Had I know this was in the works I would have kept my mouth shut. Plus consider giving out more stamina potions. Everything else is perfect. I adore this game (except Jenova on the ship, I can’t beat her 😭).

Its alright
I don’t usually play mobile games or “gacha” games whatever that means so that probably colors my review a bit. I find myself playing every few days or so when I have some time to kill and it seems like every time I login, I need to either update the app before playing or I need to download content. In either case by the time the game is ready to played I don’t have much time to play it. All the pop ups and rewards, special unlocks, purchases- they are quite annoying, perhaps the gacha part. I just want to play through the story. Which by the way, it feels like while they seem to be hitting the big story beats they are dragging out inconsequential moments that are good for short 3-5 minute battles or missions. For what it’s worth the graphics are awesome in the battles- the levels and characters are pretty closely recreated to original- just wish there was more level exploration rather than so many “fight this guy”. The battles are significantly dumbed down for original so they arn’t quite as fun. Overall 3/5, will continue to play but not an ideal way to catch up on the games FF7 story IMO

Fun game but longevity is questionable
Gameplay is fun. However the whole game being a gatcha (they even reward gatcha tickets) expect the standard gameplay loops. Battle passes. Paid boosts to earn more quicker, multiple daily check ins, and generous freebies but currently doesn’t feel like they are releasing things with a roadmap in mind but quarter by quarter. There’s a lot of story to tell, characters to release, and materia to gain but after twenty years will they be able to drip feed the same stories and keep us engaged for the type of gatcha model this is built around? Time will tell. Right now the pacing is right about 2-3 years. Compensation both in how they distribute and how the decide to offer it is wildly varied. Sometimes they will lock you out of your account all weekend with a one sentence apology. The other side is you will spend $300 on a typo banner and get all your crystals back for double pulls. Isn’t very equitable. This and the way competitive events are modeled, I can’t give this five stars no matter how much fun and nostalgia this gives.

This is what the FFVII universe should be.
OK, so let's get this out-of-the-way real quick. The mechanics are just weird, even for a gacha game. Unnecessarily grindy, no manual targeting , and no autopilot between missions. Gotta get those fixed to keep the troops happy. The gacha isn't exactly the most forgiving thing, as you need to make a bunch of pulls to even come close to getting new outfits for your characters. But for all its faults, this game is exactly what the FF VII universe would have looked like if we had the proper technology at the time to experience the full story. So, even if this game fails as so many others have in recent years, and it will, the best thing to do would be to make this a complete game that folks can pay for. It's already been tried: Collection of SaGa, the FFX box set, and maybe a few others I can't think of at the moment. it boils down to that if you don't have the time or the money to invest in the 3-D remake pieces, this could well be your best shot at experiencing a classic RPG that is as relatable today as it was more than 25 years ago. The issues it addresses are still big even here in the 2020s. But most importantly, there's enough material in here to replace the buggy original still being sold on mobile. Call it FF7 2D Remaster. If you enjoy playing with your favorite characters, any way you want, please support this game and make it happen.

Literal phone saver.
Last night when I got home, my wife was starting a load of laundry and offered to get the clothes I was wearing. I always take a shower after work so I thought why not. I took my keys, wallet, and ear buds out of my pockets before stripping down and handing her the clothes. After my shower I reached for my phone to check a work email. It wasn’t on the bathroom counter? That’s strange. I specifically remember not taking it out of my pants pocket so I could have it in the bathroom for after my shower. Oh no. Panic. My wife tried apologizing because she usually checks the pockets of everything a second time before putting it in the washer. “Why are you sorry?” I asked. “You watched me take stuff out of my pockets. Obviously you thought I got everything. I’m the one who left it in there.” So now I’m digging, arms deep in water, through wet clothes trying to find a likely exploded iPhone. My fingers make contact. I pull it out, dry it off, and turn it off for a few minutes. She calls the Apple Store. They tell me that likely it’ll turn back on, but to charge it so it’ll heat up and evaporate any residual water. I immediately know what to do. I launch Ever Crisis, put the settings to Ultra, and play for an hour. The phone got so hot, I could have cooked an egg on it. 5/5 For saving my phone. Bonus points for Final Fantasy 7 nostalgia. 10/10 would do again.

This is the truth
Loyal to ff7 remake and crisis core, in terms of most dialogue and cutscenes. Beautiful graphics. The gauge filling up battle system is great. The game is new, so I understand SOME of the lack of content. I need to know where this game is going to go, and if they don’t do it right then I will feel like I wasted what money I did spend on this. We need new characters, more fleshed out stories on all FF7s, and if they don’t make kid sephiroth playable they are FOLDING. The weapons are cool, but the aggressive selling of “limited time packs” it forces early on makes you wonder if the game is trying to hurt you. After the stories it’s hard to find stuff to do, we need that replay value up. More characters, more weapons, more costumes. Costumes have to be the coolest thing but consider adding good bonuses to all of them so I don’t have to choose between looking good and better gear.

This game brings back memories
I played final fantasy vii back when it was released on the ps1, and it was one of my favorite games at the time. This game has the same feel as the original with a bit of a modern touch to it. One small issue that I have with the game though are small moments during gameplay where the game will start to lag. Not only does that slow down game, but it also breaks the audio too. Anytime the game lags, the audio either breaks up or stops completely. When it stops, I have to press home then go back to the app. Sometimes this fixes it, but most time it doesn’t. These new models in game look really nice, but as an optimization suggestion, maybe consider adding an option to swap out the game assets for the classic PlayStation 1 ffvii assets. Having less polygons on the characters and a smooth environment that doesn’t require much 3d rendering could probably enhance performance for lower end iPhones. (Also, I miss the classic look as well.🙃)

Skill is Less Important than Cash
When this game works, it’s among the best Gacha games I’ve played. Not as open and authentic a gameplay experience as something like Genshin, but absolutely the kind of game that has clear care and craft put into it. However, it has the same problem as a game like the recent NBA 2K24: it’s not about how much you play, or how well you play. It’s about how much you spend. I’ve built a little team of people topping 95,000 power (all floating near level 46-47). They have gear above their level, they’ve got nice shirts (except Zack—no shirt for Zack). But, sometimes I’ll go into a battle with a boss that’s power level 55,000 and get absolutely crushed. Doesn’t matter which settings I use (manual, auto) and it doesn’t matter how attentive I am. The boss will wind up an attack that does 8,000 HP of damage on one turn and leave me with no hope. The goal seems to be: frustrate the player into spending money and making their character EVEN stronger—but since I don’t understand the metrics for “strong” and they’re applied unevenly (I’ve won a couple of 65-70k power battles with an S rank) it’s just not worth the money to guess and hope. Again, when this works, it’s a real love letter to the franchise. I almost want to see something like this for other entries in the series. But, I’m also always one day away from uninstalling, because the pay-to-win underpinnings feel so antithetical to what I love about Final Fantasy and JRPGs in general.

Could be improved
It is a good game over all, if you have played into the game a bit you will feel that way too. It’s has some complicated features and is very limiting on resources which can be a pain. Currently my main team is lingering around 90k power and some of the max missions are 198kish and I just don’t see it. Where do you get the power and why are you not making it more obtainable. Gacha games don’t need to punish you into spending to get stronger they can do fine making you grind for hours to get there. Biggest problem I see is that stops after day one. It is either spend or your stuck. I can beat all the dailies in less then 10 minutes there is nothing else keeping me on the game because I can’t do anything unless I can get stronger or spend a ton of cash, which I won’t do. I like the game but I have 200 psn games you want people to stick around give them reasons too.

Nostalgia Bait
This game has the graphics and music that I wanted on an updated FF7 experience. Not the full remake, but something close to what I experienced when I was a kid. They’ve more or less done that here, all with the intention of using it to ram as much gacha garbage down my throat as possible. The “gameplay” exists as tiny little excerpts between menu navigation, where you’re assaulted with pop-up notifications declaring time-limited store items and countless other opportunities to spend money. Parts of the game have been ripped out in favor of rushing you back to the menus. You don’t loot items organically from gameplay, anymore. You get them from loot boxes in the menu. You don’t build a party in game. You unlock party slots and characters and you assemble your team in the main menu. You don’t have to play the game. You can turn on auto-battle. You can fast forward. Original cutscenes are gone, making each gameplay segment that much shorter so that you can race back to the store. Ugly, ugly greed on full, proud display.

PvP will glitch your game.
I was honestly in love with this game and I was playing non stop and finally feeling confident in my team being g a paying player. Tonight though I was playing pvp when the game glitched with no option to leave the lobby. Myself and 2 others were stuck in the lobby. Even resetting the ap didn’t work so I went online to see the advice was to reinstall but of course it wasn’t clear that you had to link your account so I lost my save data and I’m devastated. If I could get a refund on the money I spent I’m willing to play again and change my review but this set me back emotionally and financially. Please let me in ow if you can at least see the investment I made into your game that ultimately had an error.

Great game with room for improvement - should expand to other games in the series!!
This is a great way to experience the story of FF7 and its companion games. I don’t mind spending on bonuses packs but the value of boosters is just plain terrible - they last only 1 week and hardly give you an upper hand. Things I’d like to see - Streamline crafting! It’s a little complicated. Too many flashy menus. It feels bad to upgrade in between battles as it requires too many screens that have flashy effects. Improve the value of your p2w items and I’d give this 5 stars. Make in game friends matter through alliances it just something to make it worth my while to accept all the requests. And at the end of the day…Rebrand and expand Ever Crisis to other games in the series once the FF7 story content is exhausted and y’all have fixed the issues. Also figure out how to port this to consoles one day.

NICE CONCEPT, BUT A GRINDING NIGHTMARE
I loved the idea at first. All of the Final Fantasy VII universe meeting in one place. I’ve played since day 1. It started out fun because there were storylines to the events, but now it is just becoming a time devouring grinding nightmare. The current FFIX crossover event doesn’t really offer much of a storyline at all. Just grind grind grind eat all your time. Haha! I would suggest adding an idle-collecting method to run along events for those who want to get special items but don’t have the time to grind for hours. I’m afraid if there isn’t any other types of things to do, like maybe an arena or Chocobo racing, this game is going to get old fast. I’m almost ready to stop playing. Not necessarily a pay-to-play, but draws usually end before you get enough crystals to get enough stamps to get special items like costumes. So I would suggest only getting free draws and holding onto your crystals until you see a costume you really really like.

Good Game But Too Many Features and Grind If No Money
Graphics and animations look great, even on old iPad. Battle system is too much in hurry with no wait time, react in couple secs and switch to next character to command best moves. Stuck at chapter 4-1 without next part available, either bug or intentionally force u to play a few hours everyday. In fact many free bonuses need u come back often. Customization of weapons and characters is best thing in game, but too many areas of features requiring u keep to track of what r best choices and when and what, so makes progress too confusing and some missions just not beatable without being really strong. Overall this kind of mobile RPG game forces u to either pay money to buy many packs to ease playing or spend so many hours grinding and checking, which I don’t have. I rather pay one time cost like 20 for completed mobile game.

Yesterday was my last day
I’ve been a FFVII super fan since I was a kid. I’ve waited for remake for years. And when I heard that there would be a mobile version of a number of games that would be a fun take, I waited eagerly. What I got was a gacha game with endless grindy events you play over and over and over and over for weeks for some little irrelevant side story. Honestly the game is simple. I haven’t had to buy anything. The devs have showered premium currency and so many stamina bottles I don’t think it’s possible to run out. But the game is NOT fun. The materia system is stupid. The equipment and power system is bad. They entice you to spend by putting in outfits and weapons and photos and reward progress but that’s NOT what Final Fantasy VII ever was and as a fan I’m insulted that’s what this game turned out to be. I’m so disappointed. I hope someone has fun with the game. But I’m not. So I’m done. I’ll get Rebirth when it comes out. Or play the classic on steam. But this isn’t it.

Great game for a gacha one
It’s a great game despite it being a gacha one. Not toooo crazy of a grind to get through the game and if you just wanna skip all that well good news because the game loves reminding you all the time that you can, simply “buy” using your credit card. 😂 ***TO THE DEVS*** I think something extremely simple that would really help the game earn more revenue is giving the option to buy music tracks that you can set to play as the main screen background music. As someone who never pays a cent in gacha games (or any games really), I would definitely buy a track to replace the main screen music because it gets tiresome after playing the game so much lol sometimes I end up just playing on mute.

FF7: Ever Crashes
I love FF7, this game, and have spent a good amount of time on it. While I love you can play the various stories this game offers, my overall issue that I have dealt with since launch is the constant crashing. I’m using an iPad 9th generation and I’ve lowered the graphic settings thinking that would help and some cases it did, but would still occasionally crash. Now with the latest update, I cannot progress from the first battle in Chapter 7 after beating the Turks. I love this game but I don’t know if it is just me, but the constant crashing and now preventing me from progressing is a little bit frustrating. Update: Was able to progress after the Turks battle, but the app would occasionally crash. Annoying, but game is still playable and still enjoyable.

Pulled an all nighter
I didn’t expect I’d spend as much time as I did with this but I did. If you’re a fan of FF7 this game is a pretty nice delight to get into. I wouldn’t say its pay to win at all (so far) and there’s a pass but mostly it’s extra rewards and a wallpaper for your Home Screen in game. Otherwise the game is a lot of fun and nostalgia-filled but also new at the same time using remake graphics for battles and more mobile friendly interface for battles but still keeping mostly true to the original. I really enjoy the revamped overlook world as well too. What can I say? You should play it, also the characters aren’t gacha it’s just their gear, which to me is a nice change for once.

Non stop crashing, no matter what
I have no doubt that I would enjoy enough elements of this game to get past the GACHA format; if I could actually play it. The game crashes so often and takes so long to load that it literally makes the experience insufferable and I can’t even get past the portion that extends the game. I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded it twice already and haven’t experienced any notable improvement. I’ve cleared space on the device I play it on (iPad) and limited use of the device to this game and audiobooks; I also make sure nothing runs in the background. It’s so deflating I’ve given up on the game and don’t even try anymore, this being before I’ve gotten to experience the new elements of the story. I think it unacceptable the game was several months late, had an anticipated high download expectancy, and yet still has the amount of issues it does. Such a shame for what could’ve been a good project.

great game !! worried about service duration though
this game is awesome! ff7 mobile games have always been very fun and well made in my opinion. I enjoy the battles, they provide a good challenge and the game isn’t solely P2W; you can definitely get through it as a F2P player. it does require copious amounts of grinding, but that’s a given for a game like this. I don’t have anything bad to say about the gameplay as of now, and the game is still new, so things will change. there’s only one thing i’m concerned about- I played the first soldier and saw how quickly its service was removed, and I do worry that the same thing will happen to EC. thinking positively, I really look forward to before crisis becoming localized!

I love this game!❤️‍🔥
I’ve been a big fan of FF7!! I played the original game and I have to tell you, this game makes me love FF7 more!!! It brought back the exciting passion I had for this game when I was a kid! You have to download this game, it comes with three stories and they give you options to respond!!! The fighting is similar to turn based!! The menu is everything! It reminds me of CCFF7 when you select mission. Not to mention the ultra quality and they may seem like the blocks from the og game but they have noticeable gestures and movements!!!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥You can also find chests but when you draw for the gachas theres a fight scene with Cloud, Oh my god I fell in love!! This game is Amazing! I can’t wait to unlock Sephiroth’s tale!!! ❤️‍🔥

A Great rendition on classic titles!!
I pre-ordered or whatever you call on it on here and I was not disappointed, as a long time Final Fantasy fan this couldn’t be any more fun the abridge work on the the titles is well done and gets the story across well! The cutscene cinematics are just insane!🙌🏻 Was concerned with what the gacha elements were gonna be like but they are very tasteful and very fruitful and isn’t designed to only reap rewards only to those who drop a bunch of money and the whole system isn’t over bearing! The UI is fantastic very simple to understand and use! Overall they knocked it out of the park and is a fantastic experience for long time fans and first timers!❤️🙌🏻

Want to love it - TLDR; Stop making FF a mobile experience
Honestly this would be 4 or even 5 if this wasn’t a mobile game. I wish square would just stop trying to make mobile happen. I get that there are gacha weirdos that need to hear things go bling bling so they can get their casino experience fix, but it is such a turn off. It’s genuinely difficult for me to invest myself into this game. I have to remind myself it’s even on my phone, and I’ve personally played every mainline title, spin-off, and even loose cross over spin offs. I love Final Fantasy. I was raised on it. But man - just port this thing to the switch. Even if you have to use gacha mechanics, just having this on a console would allow people like me to enjoy it so much more. Final Fantasy deserves more than being iPhone toilet-time games.

Love the game but I hope they make certain changes
I’m a huge ff7 fan so im loving the game, I love the story and what there doing with it. The fighting system is cool, they don’t make it where you can rush leveling. This is a big grinding game as it’s a gacha game so be prepared to farm farm farm, But I would love if they change some stupid things. Im not that happy with the materia system. They need to make a way that we can change the sub stats because when you create a 4 star material and get crappy sub stats then the materia is garbage. They need give more materials when doing the enhancement quest, it cost alot of stamina for little material. There’s so much farming in the game that requires alot of stamina. I would like if they made the quests less stamina. Other then that, I love it.

Cash Grab crap
What can I say I’m sick of all these gotchya games. Just makes a real game. It’s clear this game was meant to make you spend money to get gear. Sure all these games start out fun enough but I’ve played enough of them to know that I always end up stuck or grinding with far too little progress unless I’m willing to make in game purchases. It’s downright predatory. Shame on Square Enix for supporting this kind of crap. It doesn’t matter how good the graphics are it’s just like the rest of the gatchya games out there. I for one have no desire to relive the past games over and over again without anything substantially new. All I can say is I had high hopes only to discover this was just a cash grab game used to make money while providing little to no real game play. I couldn’t even play past the first few missions without getting bored. Don’t bother downloading this game. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

honest review from playing since release:
pros: •the graphics and gameplay are smooth and beautiful. i haven’t had any problems with crashing or lags. •there’s a new story to follow along, but i’m really enjoying the summer event. the costumes are so cute and i love that you can change skins. i hope upcoming events will be just as interesting. •i don’t usually like gatcha games, but i haven’t spent any money and i’m still being able to progress and enjoy the game cons: •so much grinding. instead of 3x the rewards, there should just be an auto complete once you’ve finished a quest. •the storylines feel almost exact as it’s remake versions. i’m also wondering how the game will progress once you finish the storylines from the main game. it would be nice if it diverted from the originals and the remakes, just to keep it interesting. •also, i’m not sure why there’s dialogue options… it doesn’t feel like it really matters in the storylines. but it would be fun if it did matter. in the middle: while it gets confusing because there’s A LOT going on, the taskbar on the home screen helps you keep in track with what to do next.

Massive potential massive lack of content.
Let me start by saying the game is pretty amazing. It’s 3 stories from 3 different FF7 games. You have the stories of FF7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, and FF7 Forest soldier. It’s loyal to the stories and even uses the cutscenes directly from the games. The combat is ATB based similar to FF13 with a gatcha element for gear. The biggest issue with the game though is the lack of content. Because they want this game to tie into FF7 Remake there is a hard cutoff for that story pretty early on and we won’t get more till Rebirth comes out. Crisis Core you only have the very first mission of the game, and First Soldier well there wasn’t a huge story for that to begin with because it was a battle royal game. Combine that with only 9 playable characters and none are villains the game fells hallow after a few hours.

Well worth the wait
I played the original VII on PlayStation and loved how long it took to get through the game. Endless hours of grinding exp, materia, limit breaks, getting all the characters, the side stories, all of it. Truly something to get for the “long game.” This is, save some rather disappointing cutscenes that are comparatively less impressive than the PlayStation of old, byte for byte an impressive, well thought out, and worthwhile game for every FF enthusiast. The feel of VII’s clunky yet adored polygon characters has been maintained with modern updates, and the turn-based combat is still there, just with a twist. There is literally nothing to complain about.

What a Game
0/10 trash tier. I cannot believe they cut out the most amazing bits about Wall Street! No gym squatting, no Honey Bee, no annoying that Materia Shopkeeper, all gone! Jokes aside, the story is heavily abridged which is okay I guess but newcomers would miss out all those side fun stuff. I wish they had it in the game but make it available at the side. Let the people decide whether or not they want to see it. Then again this is probably a tactic like: you want to know more, play the main game. I’ve read other reviews with people saying the combat is watered down or bad. This is how the original game was with some additions to the system. I like how fully customizable you can get just like old FFVII. I can turn characters into Magic, Physical, or Support types; while there are some limitations per character, it’s there. Transmog is already in the game too. Devs know players, like me, love that Buster Sword. I hope they add my favorite female character Cissnei from Crisis Core. Cheers FFVII fans for more fun to be had.

On one hand the game looks and sounds beautiful. Managing the ATB gauge feels fun and faithful to the IPs mechanics. The one flaw is the amount of fomo they are trying to push is just plain manipulative. We’ve all seen get this now packs but within your first hour you’ll be greeted w a get this now 12 hrs pack. Then as you continue to progress you’ll be greeted with those get this now within 12 hour packs left and right. The game also feels like it doesn’t have much content and I’m not sure how they’ll expand that? I know there is only so much story that they can add since they chose only FF7 and not FF in general however maybe they can focus on new innovative gameplay modes ? Idk imma keep and eye on this one but so far it’s half cash grab / half game.

Had great potential but fails
I wanted to like this game so badly. The story lines are great though slowly starting which you will run out of things to do very quick. The thing that will hold everyone back is the equipment/draw system which will bleed your enthusiasm immediately. If you don’t spend money you will hardly progress at all which makes the game very boring and repetitive. There’s very few ways to get free equipment/weapons in this game and generally are not very good which come from events or summon fights which is a total grind fest. If you have a fair amount of disposable income to spend this may be for you but if you can not spend like the whales do, don’t bother downloading or playing. And I’ve been a fan of this franchise for 25 years which is depressing.

Ever Crisis is amazing
This game has lot to offer in terms of gameplay and lots of engagement with each party members “skill tree”, summons, etc. The game has stories from original 7, crisis core, and a new story “The First Soldier” featuring a new team. While going through the game upgrading characters, weapons, chocobos, and materia you are rewarded nicely with items to help your account grow and become stronger to take on more challenging events. Music is phenomenal btw. I can’t wait for Vincent, and a Advent Children collab with this game. If you like FF7 story this is definitely your game to play. Highly recommmend.

Solid gacha game with a lot of bugs
It’s a fun game, solid time waster with a decent retelling of classic stories. So far it has been very generous with gacha mechanics and I have gotten every weapon I have wanted so far and still have a lot of resources. The devs seem to listen to their players and make changes, which is commendable. Unfortunately the game is plagued with many bugs and errors; sometimes game-breaking for some people who are not able to log in. I also don’t like how the hardest content is usually only available during the limited time events, and then goes away forever. I hope going forward these issues are worked out.

Could be Better
This is a money grab game Everyone is aware of this Problem is with this game is that it promises the complete final fantasy 7 experience which crosses several games Currently, there is only 3 stories available and it’s not even the entire story as we will have to wait for a while until they up date with the latest update. When they update comes? Who knows as the team is currently invested in side events that have nothing really to do with the story. Grinding is tiring You can be level 50 with power over 90,000 but can’t handle defeating enemies that are 60,000 to 75,000 It takes too long to level up everyone The game crashes quite often it seems And I’m on a iPhone 15 pro Where it says “an error has occurred please return to title screen” and this will go on and on until you get tired of the notice and quit the game altogether The idea is to push you to purchase these loots to advance quicker, which has been a trend for a very long time and I’m sorry for anyone who falls victim into spending more than $10 on these. there is no real reward when the entire game isn’t really available.

Bait & Switch for Paid Users and Poor Customer Support
First of all, I’m a paying player who has made several purchases. Regretfully, I’m giving the game a 1-star rating due to a bad experience I had with purchasing the Boost Pass and Soldier Pass within their app. These passes were supposed to give certain rewards, but they didn't deliver as advertised. When I reached out to customer support to discuss this issue, I received a generic response that acknowledged there might be a problem. However, they didn't address my specific concerns or offer a refund, even though the passes weren’t working as they should. The refusal to provide a refund, even with a recognition that it wasn’t working as advertised, felt like the big publisher, Square, is scamming average users. This experience showed me that the customer support lacks the willingness to provide clear answers and make things right when they admit that there's a problem. The situation has left me feeling disappointed with both the product and the customer support. I would advise potential buyers to be cautious as the product may not deliver as promised, and getting help from customer support may be a challenge once they have your money.

Not What I Was Expecting
While FFVII has always been my favorite game, I was expecting a frame-to-frame remake of the original from this title. Instead this is just an extremely abbreviated version highlighting only bits and pieces of the story across multiple titles. While graphically impressive, substance is lacking in the combat and there is virtually no exploration whatsoever. The item and menu system technicalities are extremely convoluted and confusing as well. Most chapters have dialogue-only scenes, while others chapters consist of a short and single linear path with regular battles occurring while en route to a boss fight. Being a longtime FFVII fan, this was a disappointing title. I was unfortunately misunderstood that this was going to be a top to bottom, frame by frame remake of the original.

Auto Battling…
I don’t like auto battle. It dilutes the value of my experience and I’m left feeling as if I didn’t earn what I have. I understand it’s convenient but it shouldn’t be so reliable that it clears content faster and better than I can. This is a good game, and I know I’m right about these things and my predictions always land. Wait until the honey moon phase is over. The team managing this game will be laid off because it will shut down in 2 years after the predatory cash shop tactics become easier to notice. FF7 is an amazing title. This game has potential if they dumb down the auto battle. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but right now its a glorified movie on replay. The real battle is having access to a phone charger. Not playing the game.

love the game, but...
amazing story line and engaginging gameplay. Lots of ways to improve characters and grow to fight new stronger foes. my main problem is just tech issues. they fix one issue like one mode glitching and sending you to the title screen, and only a day later I cant login. been 12 hours now, wifi/ data both strong signal, cleared game cache, rebooted phone, and finally deleted and reinstalled the app... same issue cant get past the title screen. why do this to us on a saturday lol. If IT and devs were better staffed and focused on swiftly preventing and fixing these issues it would be an easy 5/5 game!

FF7EC Review and needs.
The game is good the problem is that I have bought the season pass for two season and still have not gotten my wallpaper or gear exchange. I got cheated twice. You promised those two items upon purchase and I have not received them. So I won’t be duped into buying that crap again until the problem is fixed. Plus no matter how much I grind the game is slow moving, and I can’t fight bosses past 60,000 power. And I’m over 97,000 power. I should have no issues. More and more this game is becoming unfun. Unless you have a lot of money, you’re going no where with this game.

Great game, held back by greed
The game itself is actually quite impressive and enjoyable. I have no bad things to really say about the core game itself. The problem isn’t even the business model, it’s how aggressive it is. The perfect demonstration is displayed the moment you log in. The moment you log in you literally cannot get to the Main Menu without having to close DOZENS of login bonuses and ads for their premium engagement. When it takes me longer to close all their ads than it does to actually load the game, it’s remarkably irritating. Mobile games are typically designed to be played in short sessions. When that session is 90% taken up by, “SPEND MONEY!!!” it makes me never want to even open the game.

Looks good but…
Too many updates. The app is updating a least every other day. Sometimes I even get kicked out of the game so it can update. Right now, while I’m writing this review, I’m supposed to be updating the game. Unfortunately, the update is broken so I can’t even download it, so the game can’t be played. So far I played enough of the original 7 so that Cloud meets Aerith, but now I’m forced to play Crisis Core, I’m locked out of VII. I won’t be able to get back to it until I play more if Crisis Core, and then I AM FORCED TO PLAY FIRST SOLDIER. Also, I’m not far into CC and it’s very obvious I’m going to be forced to start shelling out Gil, I mean dollars to get much further. Free to play is dead. Two starts solely for the nostalgia and a good “alternate remake”
