Like the App. But does not really go to functional Website! Please could you fix it so that the message I am reading is totally on line. I read the article but when I click on a blue link within message it does not go to that link. Nor can I access Store etc. I have had to get out of App and then go to my browser go to your website and find the article to go to the link I am interested in. Most frustrating! Here is my original review: No it is not perfect but I am sure will get better and it is officially FlyLady. There are quite a few knockoff Apps on App Store. ( One I paid $5.00 for. It had Zones etc. but when I realized it was not by FlyLady I deleted and got money back.) I too like that all messages are on one page. I can choose which ones I want to read. So much better than emails as I would get sidetracked. Like the reminders too. One suggestion: ( or is it there and I do not know how to do it?) Is there a way to bookmark a message once you read it? There are times I would like to reread a message that spoke to me. Flying again fan
I was so excited for this app. Then, I read the reviews and rethought. But, I downloaded it. This app does exactly what it is meant to do. It reminds you of the routines. Please don't review it based on what you think it should be doing. Please don't review it badly because it isn't "perfect". If you don't need these reminders, then don't download it. Her nephew has an app with the routines listed and checklists and it's free.... Fly lady gives us so much for free that I don't mind paying a small amount for this. I use both apps. They do different things. I have heard that apps are expensive to design. I don't use Facebook and don't get the reminders from there to do things. I love that this resets each morning. I love that I don't have to go to my email to check messages because I get sidetracked by the other messages. I like things simple and to the point because it makes my life easier. This app does that. It is a reminder app. This way you don't have to keep checking your control journal. Oh, if fly lady does read this... Maybe you could put in some room rescue for five minutes or a quick fling mission game thrown in throughout the day. I would love that. Thank you for this app. Love it!!
I can't believe all the negative reviews. Some people won't be happy until FlyLady comes to their house and sets up shop in their spare room! Seriously? If you are a Fly Baby, then you know that it's progress, not perfection that is important! For me, this app is just right. I love having a check list that I can click every day! I love having a list of messages to read (or not) on a different page. I love how the checklist page is fresh every morning, so I don't need to see what I missed doing yesterday. I love that fresh start every day! I think some folks were hoping for a magic wand that would do everything, but FlyLady has never promised that. The description of this app is accurate. Take it for what it is - a tool to help us Fly. As a southpaw, I often need to use tools that are different from what others use, or use tools differently. Maybe this isn't your tool, but it sure is mine!
This is a great app that send reminder messages to your home screen to do the basics of the Fly Lady method plan throughout your day. If you're not on top of drinking your water, or tackling that decluttering mission in the basement for example, this app is for you. If you're not down to spend the few dollars to have a message on your phone rather than an email (which are free, and can lead me to being side-tracked) I would not look to invest in this. I think this app is worth the small investment, and reaps great rewards in staying focused. Great job, and I like the Pavlov's effect of the chime on my phone.
I need this tool to get back on track. I just bought a year membership but it it not working correctly with my new iPhone 11 and iOS14. If you can’t update it, please take it down. Or I can’t depend on it. I am a SHE and I have difficulty going on the website for everything. Having something on my phone all in one place will guarantee my success.
I love this app. That had to be the first thing I said after reading the reviews. Why? Because the reviews our misleading. First of all, the steps to signing up first for Flylady's subscriptions ensure you get the content you desire and need from the app. Second, they are not difficult. Hi my name is so-and-so and these are the messages I want. Thanks. Simple. Last of all price, well I guess you've never gone gold or pro on a fitness app before and those apps auto-bill you. Flylady will never do that to you. I love Flylady, she has helped me bless my home and bless myself and for that I am grateful. This app is SUPERB!
So, I do like the fact that I can ignore my email and read them all on my phone in one place. I also like the reminder list, but NEED it to refresh daily and be a check off list...something that I can use to keep track of my routines. I think that the basic idea is good, but it needs a lot more for the price. Check off lists for routines. The ability to create and keep track of our own daily routines. The complete detailed cleaning list with a way to check it off. To Do lists etc. It would be great to have this app "mature" and become something truly convenient for us Fly Babies.
I LOVE my new FlyLady Messenger App!!! Those reminders popping up throughout the day & links to longer articles...for IF I have the time to do something & normally would be so paralyzed as to WHAT TO START WITH (& then them disappearing overnight with fresh ones next morning) is like what my SOUL has needed! The FlyLady motto (the gist at least) of “You’re not behind. You don’t need to catch up. Just jump in wherever we are today” is, like, more refreshing to me than an hour of meditation. THANK YOU!!!!!
Excited to get Flylady app as I have been fluttering several years. First of all it is expensive at $30 for 12 months, second of all it is a very involved process to initially set the app up through their website, and third the main page looks sloppy. The main page messages are cumbersome to hit the correct one as they are crammed together, then you have to slide to find the read button, then you are directed to the website. I love Flylady and I am happy to donate from my purchase but do not plan on using this app. as it is currently designed. It needs major revamping. Flybaby, Karen
This app honestly does nothing for me. I expected it to help organization and planning throughout the day with reminders built in and that's not what this is. I also thought I'd be able to add my own "to-do" items to the list and I can't. I would love a refund of my $10 because this was a waste of money. I get more from going to the website daily and searching through the pages than I do from the app that's supposed to have everything conveniently at your fingertips, but isn't. Hopefully in the future it'll get better for others to use.
I bought the app as soon as it became available. I'm loving the whole thing! The reminders help me to stay on task. If I get distracted the notices bring me back. I love that it resets every morning, is on my time zone. I enjoy seeing the items checked off. Love what you do for us and all of the support. I'm sure you will tweak a few things but isn't that what this is all about, learning as we go. Money well spent!
Do not subscribe or pay money for this app. Sure, Flylady & Conpany aren't tech savvy, I get that. This has been obvious to anyone who has tried to navigate their mess of a website or subscribed to their fire hydrant of emails. But I thought surely that was the point of the app...to organize their content in a palatable way. I can overlook poor graphic design, but the app is flat out non-functional. Truly disappointed. They need to stop hiring cheap basement dwelling kids or offshore devs to do their tech stuff and step up if they want to stay relevant.
Not really an app. Just a bookmark for the website. You have to click and go to website to finish reading. Really wanted it to be an actual app to use.
I've been following FlyLady almost since she started. I recently downloaded the FlyLadyPlus app which I really like so I decided this FlyLady Messenger app would have even more useful content (after all, I'm paying for it). I am very disappointed in this app, the messages are all squished together and cut off, and the reminders are also squished and seem a bit random. I sent an email to fly lady and have not received any response. I expect more from FlyLady.
I love the notifications and the idea of this app. But as for the app itself, I’m not happy with most of it... especially for the price. There should be daily checklist for Beginning Baby Steps. (30 days) And then when routines are selected 1 by 1 then they are added to the master list.( Adding and deleting would be ideal). Especially if you could keep record and give daily praise as well as a week of progress and 30 days of mastering the skills. Zones aren’t even listed- which makes no sense at all. It should be an option of some sort. 🤷♀️ It would also be nice to have the option to add a note at the bottom for other things we need to add or to do as part of the app. I hope an update comes soon 🤞🤞🤞
So I adore FlyLady and what she provides, but the app is complete c***. It basically sends you messages that, if you want to read them, jumps you to her webpage. Which is not mobile friendly. Squint at teeny tiny text. You get nothing over going to her website directly besides frustration and a charge. So just look at her free website, instead of paying money to add this app’s aggravation.
This is app is terrible. I expected better from The FlyLady. There is no in app lists for the zones. There just nothing in the app for the amount of money you pay. Everything takes you back to the website. I paid 9.95$ and I can't even get a refund or cancel so they don't recharge me again in 3 months. I e had it for ten mins. This should be a free app for what it has to offer. Very skimpy on content. Disappointed. It's awful.
I have always used FlyLady off and on for 20 years. I thought maybe by 2020 they have jumped on the tech app train. Seems like this just takes all the emails they send and put it in one spot and you have to pay for it. Was hoping for something that gave the missions and zones all in one spot and just check off when done. I would try it but who doesn’t even offer a trial for a paid app???
I signed up for this because I love the FlyLady approach, but I needed reminders that was easier than having to log in on my computer. A phone app sounded ideal! However, the app doesn't show the entire message, so I'm still having to log in on my computer in order to read all the tasks in the flight plan for the day. This app was a waste of my money. (You have to purchase a subscription to use it.)
Most other apps let you create an account on the app. NOT THIS ONE. You have to go to the Flylady website, purchase an app subscription there (I’m fine with paying for an app that WORKS) and then log in somehow with an account that has to be created somewhere? But not on the app! And not in ANY place obvious on the website. It MIGHT be through the emails? But dang, I hope not. The emails drive me nuts. And anyhow, it doesn’t look like that’s the method. So, I guess, if you already have a Flylady account, this won’t be an issue for you. For everyone else? Be cautious. Maybe wait until they’ve figured out how to make an app that DOESN’T Make you go through a bunch of ridiculous hoops?
When I first got it I didn’t realize you had to swipe to the left to read. It’s so easy to use and I love how it goes straight to your website. Easy tips and suggestions. My fave app by far
Although I’m not sure why I did expect more than the usual stuff that is free. This is apparently just another marketing gimmick to get you onto her website to buy her products and pay through the nose for the privilege. I was looking for something like Home Routines which allows a zone plan for maintaining a household but which had more flexibility. Sadly this goes the opposite direction.
I'm happy to support Fly Lady with my preliminary subscription in hopes that this app will receive further development... because right now it's a mess. I like the idea that all of the messages and reminders are in one place, but the format is crowded. Bugs abound. The first few times I opened the app, holding down on each entry brought up a "read" button that would take me to the Fly Lady website page for that entry. That stopped working after a few tries, and deleting the app and reinstalling, restarting my iPhone, logging out and back in has not fixed the problem. I like the reminder checklist. This is a very good idea, but it was released prematurely.
This first version of the Flylady Messenger app is not at all what I expected. Flylady's emails and reminders to drink your water, plan some dinner are great, but once you get the idea behind the system, you can easily set up reminders on your smartphone. I can filter the emails in my inbox and read them/discard them, both of which I do. I'll give it some time.
I finally understand how the app works! Messages: Swipe left on the message, click “read” and it takes you right to that item on the website. Reminders: Double click to check off an item with a big purple checkmark. It’s very simple and helps keep me on track during the day.
I thought that with a paid app I would get more than links to the website articles. I was expecting a mobile version of the site. The articles are written for online, and are practically impossible to read on my phone.
Do not waste your time. This is free to download on the App Store, but in order to use it you have to give $36 per year!! And the app itself is a mess. The website is also a mess and complicated to use. Perhaps fly lady should focus on decluttering her own website and her own app before she tries to sell it to people for such an incredibly high price
I was excited to buy an app from FlyLady, but was very disappointed with what the app actually is. It is basically the same thing as receiving emails. I was looking for an app to incorporate a personal calendar and a meal planner that my whole family could see. I would not of purchased this if I would of known what I was/wasn't getting.
What would I do without FlyLady? This app is just what I needed. Yes, it's not per#%t, but it gets the job done. Highly recommend it to all my friends and family.
I have used FlyLady for years and decided to pay for the app but it almost never works properly, messages are not coming through and sometimes the days are wrong when they do! Definitely not a purchase I will repeat.
Not only do you have to pay a subscription for this—when it basically just brings you to the website for the free content. It is also archaic technology and not intuitive at all. Save your money and just bookmark the website.
I love this app but it stopped sending notifications to my phone out of the blue. I looked into my personal settings and everything was set up to receive them.
I paid for a subscription and downloaded the app. After one week, the app informed me that I did not have credentials and the entire thing went blank. I emailed “orders” and got no reply. I was supposed to be clearing clutter and stress in my life and all this app has done is increase my stress and make me drink more wine. I have asked for a refund. No reply to date.
I *just* downloaded the app. I’ve been waiting for one for awhile so I’m excited about this. My one note so far is that a quick pop-up tutorial would be awesome.
Love Flylady, and had been hoping for a way to get a daily text of the daily mission. This app will send you 20 to 30 messages a day, many of them, including the daily mission, simply link to to webpage. Not what I was hoping for.🙁
I like the idea of an app to help with flylady program... That said, I was swamped with reminders and it caused more stress and frustration. I ended up deleting the app.
I'm so disappointed like the others. I paid for this? It provides nothing. The I download Flylady premium and it's totally different and seems to be legit from the Flylady herself and sooooo much better so what the heck is going on guys!?!?
