Customer support
I LOVE my KDS! However KDS had an update and my tablets were not connecting all of a sudden over a busy lunch hour. I quickly found text support in the app and shot them a text. I got a quick response from a knowledgable and friendly tech who walked my through several steps to get back up and running in a very short time! Step by step instructions that even a non-techy could understand! I highly recommend KDS to anyone running a kitchen!

Great when it works but works 50% of the time if that
Was recommended this from previous owners, decided to stick with it. Started great then orders started not to show up, or pop back up after hours later. I’d restart my whole system, make sure update version/ if there was any updates from bugs and contact them. Good customer service until I was told I needed a higher subscription then I needed, I figured out later I didn’t need it. I was told they are working on the problems and each week it be the same thing but during my busy season I didn’t have the time to try a new system. I talked to them saying I am over this and I’d like to cancel and refund for the last couple months and they said wait until I close (I am seasonal) and when I contacted them they said since I paid annually I couldn’t. So I paid for something that half worked and they tone changed in customer service, not will to help but would give me a credit for a different subscription. Why would I use that when the system didn’t work and I wasn’t happy with it. Not impressed or happy, do not recommend.

Great product and support
We are a high volume cafe and restaurant and have relied on Fresh KDS for several years. We have multiple SquarePOS registers & terminals and two KDS printer screens and they work great together. When we’ve had technical issues in the past, the Fresh KDS team has quickly identified a solution and walked us through it professionally and promptly.

Great app!
I’m a small business owner and just started using fresh KDS. It’s worked well with Square. When I did have problems I reached out to their help line and they were quick to respond! They helped resolve my issues quickly and with patience.

Dishonest Pricing; Intermittently Fails
I want to love fresh KDS as we rely on it heavily for our business. Unfortunately, the service goes down relatively frequently which can cause major problems Also, they recently charged me more than $100 to reflect a recent price raise. This was done four months into my annual subscription. Price raises are fine, but you can’t charge them until the renewal date. To their credit, they refunded the charges, but I highly doubt they refunded everyone else.

The app has come along big time
in case you’re reading old reviews of the app they’ve made some awesome changes recently and the reliability has come a long way. They’re adding features like being able to bump tickets to a expo person which is a huge help to managing large order volumes, there’s more customization etc. they’ve obviously taken a ton of user feedback and kept building. bravo

Headaches
(Was) Great until there was a problem. In the middle of a rush when you need assistance, there is no immediate customer service. Send an email and get a response the next day or so. Catastrophic to my kitchen and staff scrambling to figure out orders that were lost. And, when this thing isn’t communicating with the register there is no warning until a customer comes looking for their order. Horrible. In addition KDS did an “ update” which discontinued the old bold font. Now its difficult to read the screen, we’ve made multiple mistakes as a result. Oh and this update, doubled their monthly subscription price. Just poor business practices all the way around. Currently seeking another system ASAP

Good when it works
This is what you need to know, 1- amazing when it works 2- back end design, settings, speed it’s horrible, makes you feel like one of those cheap apps, for me that doesn’t effect me very much as I care about functionality 3- customer support is horrible, when you need them in the middle of a rush and your system is down they respond two days later ! 4- a lot of improvements needed and every software listens to customers and update, they don’t, simple things like save password that every single software on earth has it, they don’t and whenever you’re trying to fix their daily issue by logging outa d logging it then you have to manually enter your password. When you have a big rush and trying to reset 3 iPads it’s a lot, also this means your have to give all your employees those passwords . 5-screen communication disconnects out of no where and for no reason so expect this happens almost every other day. 6- contact customer support for non urgent stuff and they will do nothing about it. One star for its amazing use when it’s working

Zero support
I used this app with square before COVID, and it worked. After COVID I went to reactivate it and by mistake I activated two step verification. They are using odd one with google, not text. So I could not sign in. Three weeks later this issue is not resolved, numerous email, and chat. I had the email of the developer, so I contact him as well. He said support will resolved it instantly, another week pass, and nothing happen. They clearly don’t need the money. When support did not help I checked and Square now have quit few other KDS options. Going to sign with bumpkds much better value 6 display for $20 vs $40

Good for a bit, terrible after update
I see they removed my previous review of the 3 stars I gave so now they lose a star. In the beginning it worked great, until it didn’t. The app crashed every 30 mins and I sent an email and they said it was overloaded. Probably lost about 15+ tickets. Given, this app is the only thing on my WiFi. We don’t connect to the WiFi nor do our employees. I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought, maybe we are just super busy and bad WiFi. I upgraded my WiFi, and then the next day on a slower Sunday evening, app is still crashing with tickets being missing. How troubling when you aren’t even busy and food is getting out in 30 mins or more. I was embarrassed as a business owner trying to explain the system crashed AGAIN. Customers even notice how often it crashes. If the app didn’t crash so bad, everyone would love it.

New update is subpar
10 second lag when checking off completed tickets, which then catches up and checks off incompleted tickets. The new recall screen is garbage. Before you could see the actual order when you press recall. Now you only see the initials of items that were ordered. You then have to click again to see the details you actually want to see. Come on guys….

Horrible customer service
Just in case sth crashes get yourself another KDS handy to transition right away, otherwise you will be stuck with your kitchen displays without a system in place.

Major flaw
Everything works great, except the app crashes every time I try to open the settings. Can’t tweak settings or view reports or anything like that until this bug is fixed.
