I’m unable to log into the app. It accepts my user name and password but then tells me “You are not logged in”. Dead end, no option to change password.

Loved the website, app could be better

I’ve been using the website to build my family tree and I love being able to have the app on my phone. I’m giving it 4 stars because the design could be better, it still has the format of ancient iPhone apps.

Use the web page

I cannot find a language change anywhere in the app. The service is well worth going premium, but for any language except for French - use the web page

Don’t waste your time

Desktop version works great, but this app will not let you log with the correct user and password. I do not read French, and that is the only support available. If you are going yo offer this, why can’t someone at HQ do quality assurance BEFORE they waste your time?

Fixed?

When I opened the app I put in my user and password and suddenly it let me in? And this time the main screen was not in French. Still a little laggy though and not as promising as ads and friends have told me.

Disappointed

I can log into the website with no problem and it is in English but when I use the app, my login for the website will not work and when I try to create a tree, it is only in French. Can these issues be fixed?

Unable to Login

Same problem as reported by others. I log in on this app and the app tells me on not logged. I log in using a Windows 11 laptop and I get logged in using the same user name and password.

You can view the website in English but there’s no language option in the app that I could find.

Good idea, poorly executed

The software is free. Thumb up. The app is difficult to use and crashes often. Thumb down.

Why no English language?

One star because I couldn’t even tell you if it works or not because the language is in French and there’s no way to change it. I’m deleting this app.

The app lacks so many of the appealing and useful features of the desktop website.

They no longer support this and in March of 2019 they said it was removed from the store but obviously it has not been.

Better as a tree reader than a truly interactive tool.

If you are a Geneanet user, then I am quite sure you will find this free application handy. It simply allow you to download your tree to your iphone so that you can refer to it without needing access to your computer or even to the internet. Anyone who can gain access to your online data can do the same thing, so it is handy for sharing. You can have the cel phone download an update version anytime you need an update. The download is quick because it doesn't include pictures or related archived documents. And because the data kives in the phone's memory, access, occe downloaded, is instantaneous. So if you need to know your cousin's wedding anniversary, or your mother-in-law's birthday, there it is, instantly at your fingertips! Search features enable you to quickly get to quickly locate any name. On the other hand, If you desire to WORK on the tree, the application also gives you online access (and your privileges will depend on what iD you use. Those who don't like this application probably find this aspect of it unsatisfactory. Also, the application as a whole can use improvements, in particular more options to back out and cancel steps one has taken by mistake.

Disappointing

I've had a geneanet account for year and had hopes for this app. Very frustrating and hard to use. To creat a tree it takes you to the web but then requires Flash, on an iOS device! It says you can import a Gedcom but give error messages, in French. I gave up and deleted it. Really NO STARS!

With latest update, app locks up

With the new adware in yesterday's release, if you don't go to the website, the app locks up and doesn't open. The software was pretty cool, but now....

Worthless

Accepts your username and password but then says You Are Not Logged In. Based on another review this has been happening for a couple of years. Don't waste your time with this useless app.

Copies old info from free sites, then make you pay

Went to their website for more info and found they copied info that I listed on my tree at myheritage.com. and therefore made free for others to use. Then this copycat service makes others pay for info they could have gotten for free on myheritage.com. Even worse, they are listing incorrect old info that I corrected months ago. In short you are wasting your money & are purchasing outdated and potentially incorrect information.

What a let down!!

Don't let Free fool you. Once I downloaded was excited to search through but you have to join a monthly membership with a fee for it to give you any information. Very confusing to use. HORRIBLE! Doesn't deserve the one star.
