My previous review (below) is amended. The programmers got rid of the glitch and added more puzzles. I really get caught when they use clues with two meanings (makes me think!) like wound which could be an injury or a coil. Good job! I also have not seen the ad I disliked recently. Thanks! I have several of David Hoyt’s games and really like them. The Jumble Crossword game has a few problems. The first one is that you do not always get the clues for the word to put into the grid. At least half the time I have to go back and re-pick the puzzle in order to get the clue word. It is a bother but easily done. Today I got the initial “bonus” word at the beginning but the app did not accept it. I reversed the two letter i’s and the app still didn’t accept it. I skipped the bonus word and it gave me the exact word I had put in several times. The last problem is a personal choice and just an exception. There is one game ad that features a war game with destroying tanks etc. I think the violence is in poor taste for this day and age. I thank Mr Hoyt for his other games. They are great! The programmers do a great job on them. Jumble Crossword does not meet the bar they set.
I play all of David Hoyt’s games in addition to several others. This one is my favorite. I love everything about it, from the extra challenges to earn coins, to the sound effects, to the daily bonus word, to the challenge question after each puzzle is solved, to the different difficulty levels, and on and on. It’s very addictive. My only complaint is I run out of puzzles and have to start over to satisfy my addiction. When new puzzles are added, I’m in heaven. BEST GAME EVER! Update: Needs puzzles added more often.
Now (June/July 2024) the app will suddenly cause Safari to launch opening some scam site that says your device is being scanned for viruses. This game has been a lot of fun to play but has caused serious issues that should not happen period. This latest critical issue is the end of my use of it, and I recommend it be removed from the App Store. Previous review: Previously there was some kind of drum beat or music that started playing when the app was launched. I assume it was part of some ad even though no no ad was playing. This required the phone to be set to silent. That issue disappeared after a few months but now there is some kind of clicking noise once the app is launched. At first I thought it was coming from my tv. Again I have to silence my phone. It’s possibly part of an ad as well but no ad is playing. The game is nice but the developers do not monitor what the app does. If they were managing this better it would be a 5 star app. As it is it’s an annoying 3 star one.
Am I the only user for whom the app frequently freezes? The app also frequently cuts off my streaming audio. Am I the only user who has a podcast or ballgame on when I’m unjumbling? Having said that, the premise of the game is fun and engaging, even if the app thinks the main city of a state is its “capital.”. I have every intention of spending $2 to remove the ads—once the freezing ceases—but I gotta confess I’ll reallllly miss the ad for the spot remover with the lady who thought the spots were “freakles.” So please lemme know if you’re having issues with the app freezing and/or cutting off your streaming audio!
Jumble Crossword is just as fun as Just Jumble, but it's different enough that you can play both games back-to-back without feeling like you're playing the same game. Also, the app experience is much smoother than the original Jumble Crossword from years ago. There are a ton of pop-ups (usually for coins and challenges), but no long, obtrusive ads. Download this app if you like word games; you won't be disappointed.
I've been playing their games for years now. I love them and I grew up doing the jumbles with my mom in the newspaper. So much nostalgia! My mom and I are both word puzzle fanatics. I highly recommend this game and to try all the others they have made. They keep my mind sharp and I love a good word challenge. Keep updating and adding more puzzles. You guys are the best! Thank you for all you do!
I paid twice now for the correct final answer to category M, which is Liverpool. The puzzle identified Liverpool as the answer both times and filled it in automatically, but won’t accept it as the answer. Won’t accept it either if I type it in. The rest of the letter categories work ok. I’ve been waiting for months for this to fix so I guess the developer doesn’t read his reviews. I really like the puzzles but don’t care much for the final question, but that’s personal preference.
For starters, there is no cloud sync. So, playing on one device does not sync it with other devices. Results on one device are not tallied on another. If you play the game on multiple devices expect to play the same puzzles again and again. A lot of the word clues are repetitive. Nor are the clues interesting, like the NYT cRosswords. In fact, most clues are merely synonyms for the answer. The hardest levels are not that difficult, and there are an insufficient number of puzzles. However, for a couple of bucks, it’s a good way to waste some time.
Each day you have to unscramble a simple word and you get points for it. You can use these points to buy hints. Each game gives you points. Different levels and lots of fun. This is my all-time favorite game. I get to choose the difficulty and I get to relax and get lost in the game. If you like to be challenged and you want to use your brain on a different type of game, then this is the game for you!
The Giant Jumble Crossword game is challenging and fun for all knowledge levels "J-E" . It's not too hard but not too easy, it's just enough! I especially like the variety of layers of puzzles within each puzzle/game. I have finished all levels and have started over again at "J" and have accumulated almost 500,000 coins. If you like challenges, and if you like puzzles, you must try these.
I’m addicted to Jumble Crosswords! I don’t know how it happened but it has! And now I’m running out of puzzles! I only play two a day hoping I can put off a time when l’ve run out! Please update as soon as possible! It’s the humanitarian kind of thing to do! Also, much thanks for all the good times this has brought me!
I play a lot of brain games but this is the best crossword puzzle game I’ve found. Expands your knowledge of words. I find a lot of things to look up. Sometimes I get distracted when I learn something I didn’t know and end up on google learning about something I didn’t know was a thing. I love this game!
Word Jumble was always my favorite in the print newspapers, so I was happy to find this app. I like the different levels and I’m already in the hard level. And the final answer is usually educational or historical or trivia. And the companion app called Just Jumble which is like the old newspaper one with only the final jumble!
I love these puzzles, but what do I do with all the thousands of points I racked up? Are they transferable to any other of the other games? When is the new J2 coming out? These are real challenging, stimulating my brain! I have followed your puzzles for years in the newspaper, and now on here. Please keep working on them and we I’ll keep doing them! Ruth

As a life-long Scrabble Enthusiast, this game (as well as the original JUMBLE Game) are a bid thumbs up for me. It's great exercise for the brain, and entertaining, too. I highly recommend it to everyone who shares a similar love for words and word games, that stimulate the mind, while providing wholesome, educational entertainment. -JP
I’ve been playing for a few weeks and find this game entertaining and challenging. It gives my eyes and brain a workout. Like exercise, staying with hit will pay off. As you workout your brain, sharpen your skills and ability to solve the puzzles.
I’ve loved Jumbles and crosswords for a long time so to have them combined is a lot of fun! There’s no cute comic or play on words but the Jumbles themselves are a fun tease. They’re hard enough to make you think, but easy enough that you can work it out in a reasonable period of time. Best of the word puzzles.
The game is a perfect length, with several levels of challenge. Not too many purchases. LOVE that you can opt out of ads for a reasonable price. THAT’s an important reason to consider it! There are other games by these developers that I enjoy as much, too!

I’ve enjoyed the Jumble games via newspapers and printed books for over 10 years. This crossword game just adds one more to my list. The clues are sometimes challenging and usually vocabulary building worthy. If you like Jumble games, you’ll like this.
This game is so much fun because it is challenging and you have a lot of opportunities to earn points. Then you get to solve a bonus question after each puzzle. You really learn a lot.
I have been doing Jumbles for about 20 years. This seemed interesting and not too hard the first few days. But yesterday I could not solve any word without taking 300 points from my accumulated score to eliminate the ‘extra’ letters that were in the initial jumbled mix. It continued today. With just the letters that are in the answer it is difficult enough. It is just not fun as it is now designed. Good bye!
Every time this lady comes on screen after hitting watch ad for 250 points you watch ad, get booted out of game no points back to app page on iPad. Unfair!!!! Otherwise greatest game ever.🌈
Game is fun but because it doesn’t tell you what challenges are in process that span multiple games, it’s hard to track them so you don’t unintentionally lose one. The other issue is that some clues are really strange. I understand adding challenge but some were really off target. Also saw one or two misspellings.
Just started playing this game and I like it, I have always liked Jumbles but have not done crosswords because they were too much of a challenge for me. This is great because it is still jumbles. It is a challenge but I need it so will keep playing. Thanks for all the puzzles you create. Jan
Great game, I hope you continue to update the puzzles with new ones. If you have played them all you can always reset them and do them again, but new puzzles would be welcomed.
If more than 5 stars were available you get more. I was so excited to find this game in the App store. Jumble has been my favorite puzzle for decades and Jumble Crossword just ups the game (pun intended). Oh, and something else, my little dog is named Daisy, too.
The Jumbo puzzle is fairly easy, but fun and I like all the extra coins. Other games take forever to earn extra coins and then it takes forever to solve but not Jumbo puzzle. I will try i the David apps.

I Love the concept. I think some of the word clues can be a bit confusing. I will still play and enjoy it. I would like to see the clues for the final answer light up when you get the first or second word/name correct if it is a 2 word answer. Thanks
Final Clue two word answers, for example, Harrison Ford, will only allow the first part of the answer to be filled in first. So, if you correctly guess the Ford part, Ford doesn’t fill into the correct lower position. Dave’s other Puzzle apps do.
Previous review: Enjoy the game. Some puzzles are challenging but overall not too bad. New review: Going to delete now… The app opens Safari without permission…easy way for scammers and viruses to infiltrate. I can understand if it were after a game and an ad popped up but this occurs when I shuffle the letters in the middle of a puzzle. Not a good way to treat customers.
I enjoy playing this puzzle on a daily basis. For the past month it has been crashing on me at least three times a week. Daily Puzzles will not download. I have a strong internet connection. Please fix it.
Great game but uninstalled it because I am sick of the royal match commercials. Ever other game the commercial played three times over and over. Match three games have run their course they are completely computer controlled and no fun. You obviously need the money much more than you need people to play your game
I love this app! I play it everyday and it’s always different. I enjoy the references to culture, history, and world facts too :) plus the interface is easy to use and fun. Highly recommend!

I have enjoying his app for a couple months. But for the last couple days the screen is completely black when I open the app. I restarted my phone to see if that would help, but no luck. Please help me with this error. It’s a 5/5 star when it’s working.
Have always loved Jumble - in newspapers & in the app. If possible, Crossword Jumble is even more enjoyable- clever clues to help you unscramble the answer plus a fun bit of trivia at the end. Challenging without any frustration- love it!
...I played quite a bit on my iPad but those games did not carry over to my iPhone. So now I’m playing the same games again. I wish there was a way to save them, like the regular Jumble app. But I LOVE all of David’s games...and seeing his dog in World Traveler! So cute! :)

Since the last update I have noticed that the puzzle grid is smaller and it’s much more difficult to play on my iPhone SE. I don’t see any way to change the size. Am I crazy?
I really like the layout. I normally never do cross word puzzles but this is different because you don’t need to be a cross word nerd to play it successfully.
I had played this game for several years, but had to delete it yesterday because of the hijack within the app that another user also noted that causes Safari to automatically launch to a scam site—until this issue is rectified, I will not use this app again.
