Update
They need to update and put some money into the app and how it functions. I will spend money, and it takes a couple of days for the app to update. The balance of my account fluctuates on some dates it shows a true balance, on some days it shows a higher balance. The time it takes for a check to clear is crazy. It’s been over a week and I’m still waiting for my account to show that my bills have been paid. On weekends, forget about knowing if your balance is accurate. When I tried contacting the tech people, the drop box and who I was sending it to doesn’t work. Overall I love valley bank, the people that work there and how they operate, but I’m extremely disappointed in the app and online performances.

Needed Features
Some features that need to be added in order to keep up with the advancement of technology. First of adding a feature that sends notifications when a purchase, withdrawal, transfer or deposit would help tremendously. Texting and phones calls are not the most reliable anymore. I am not saying remove that feature because some people still need it today. Have the options be with switches in settings. It would be best to make notifications easy to access and switch. Also be having notifications when used with purchases would help with fraud and stolen cards if the owner of the account is notified. Allow the notifications to be customized per the four types of notifications. Remove the three lines as a navigation bar. Have a smaller on located on the bottom of the screen. This just looks cleaner and more organized. Make the app look more visually appealing. For a home page I would have a list of accounts each with a deposit, transfer and pay bill symbol with it. Add an arch over the amount/money that is glacier banks green. Have it turn red when an account is getting low on funding when a user has spent to much. This covers the basics but I would recommend to look at other banks and credit card companies to learn what appeals to their users. By improving the app this will help the company. I really enjoy helping local Montana business so please reach out I would gladly help.

4+ years wasted
You’d think as old as this app is, that they’d be able to maintain a simple, functioning, online banking app. I say maintain because initially, this app worked just fine for me. No crashes, no lockouts, and no error messages telling me I have no access to my accounts. However, with each update, the app seems to deteriorate more and more. The most recent one, which occurred 3 months ago, was the straw that broke the camels back. For the past 3 months I’ve had to call GB almost WEEKLY to reset my online banking so I can regain access to my accounts. Besides these constant lockouts, I’ve also dealt with incorrect balances, and the app crashing quite often. FaceID doesn’t seem to completely work either. I’m amazed that this app used to run exceptionally 4 years ago. Overall, don’t bother with this app. You’re better off going to an ATM or the bank itself. Glacier Bank, maybe it’s time to find a new dev team for your app because, as you can see based on these reviews, this app stinks!!

Terribly unintuitive
I got a new phone and loaded all my info for phone per the cloud. The only app that didn’t not load my Face ID of other info is the Glacier app. This bank is slacking in system updates, SIM cards are going away. HELLO Glacier!!! Time to catch up!!! It’s terrible I can’t access my account, would be nice to have access. Need to pay some bills. Plus as you can see the reviews are unbelievably low. Time to start thinking about the bigger banks. At least they are ahead of the curve. Plus anyone who holds people’s money should be opened 7 days a week. All banks slack with just a 5 day work schedule. I beat the first bank that is open 7 days a week crushes its competitors. So, now it’s time to read their stamped apology response to this review. Unpersonable as usual, businesses these days are lazy. This statement was made to benefit the bank, but they won’t listen. Why give them our money if the bank does work for us? sincerely, sick of the times.

Bad enough to make me consider switching banks
This app has so many flaws and it’s so horrendous I am seriously considering switching banks just to get away from this and the developers obviously don’t care, I don’t even usually leave reviews or comment but just seeing the overwhelming amount of negative reviews for this app made me feel obligated to express that this app is not for anyone who takes their finances seriously. There’s no notifications, payments take forever to show, I’ve had payments show then I’ll close the app and it will go right back to saying I never spent anything and that can be seriously harmful to someone who doesn’t pay attention to every penny they spend. It can tell you you have more money than you truly do and that’s the main reason I not only am considering but likely will switch banks, I have an amazing bank with great people and even they know how horrible this app is, DEVS DO SOMETHING!

This app needs serious maintenance
When I first started using this app in 2017, it ran flawlessly but it clearly hasn’t been updated or maintained at all since then. It is absolutely rife with bugs, locks me out of my own account because it can’t remember my password for more than two weeks, and worst of all it won’t communicate by sending reset codes to my mobile or email. I know I’m not the only Glacier Bank customer considering closing my account and giving my business to another bank entirely because of this god awful, corrupted software. Also, their customer service reps are so useless and disinterested that it might be easier to automate the entire system by pressing keys. This app reflects poorly on Glacier Bank as an operation and shows how little of their budget is directed toward customer interface and overall makes me uneasy with the idea that they manage my money.

PLEASE PUT SOME WORK IN TO FIX THIS APP
I’ve been using this app for years and it has never worked correctly. Sometimes after business hours it will say I have more money than I actually do. Incorrect balance glitches. Constant error messages saying it is having trouble accessing my accounts. Blank screens with no login option that don’t go away even if you uninstall and reinstall/update/restart phone, etc. I need the app for mobile deposits and if the app doesn’t work I can’t use a very important tool at this bank. I will be switching banks if I don’t see this issue fixed ASAP. I’ve already reported the issue multiple times over the years to customer service and in person, and nobody has any answers for me except telling me that it’s “odd” that I’m experiencing this. Clearly I’m not the only one.

Useless, makes me want to switch banks
This app is absolutely terrible. I sometimes can’t even log in, and other times all of my charges show as 0.00 or are converted and shown as other random currencies. Forget even trying to do a transfer. I eventually gave up and just used the mobile site to do everything, but now Glacier bank doesn’t do transfers when you use safari on an iPhone. I’ve had a savings account with Glacier for years and never had any problems, but now that I actually want to spend my money in a checking account I seem to be blocked at every turn. I will be switching banks shortly because this should be an easy fix and yet nothing has changed over the last year. I am incredibly frustrated, and I truly don’t understand why Glacier Bank cannot fix this app!

Faulty App
The app isn’t bad when it’s working. Very simple, limited functions but all I really need it for is checking balances and making transfers. The mobile deposit function seems to take forever to put money in your account, even though you’ll get an approval email almost immediately. Bills I have paid can take days to show in my account, even during the business week/hours. Recently, my app has been preventing me from logging in, saying “user blocked” or “invalid password.” I can log in on a browser, however. I’m worried about actually locking my account as many reviews say the app will do this for no reason.

Put more work into this app
I’ve been resetting my phone and opening and closing this app cause it won’t load, all I want to do is check my running amount, I’ve checked my internet and everything and nothing has changed. This app is absolute trash and is becoming a waste of my time all I want to do is see if I have money to pay for the things I need to pay for. This is completely stupid that Im sitting here wasting my time trying to see my money that I work for, and it just sits and loads for minutes on end?!?! How hard is it to make sure that your app works properly? Look at your reviews the majority of them are all 1 stars maybe take that into consideration that you need to make MANY improvements on your trash app.

Great people, horrible online banking.
I rated this 3 stars about a year ago, but the app is getting worse instead of better. It does not work at night for whatever reason. And rarely works during business hours. And yes, my app is up to date and so is my operating system, I have an iPhone X so it is far from outdated. I am actually an app developer, so maybe I am pickier than most. But Mountain West Bank is in the Stone Age when it comes to online banking and technology. I’ve been banking with them for about 10 years now and have never had any issues. They seem to be a great bank and the people are always pleasant to deal with. But their app gets a 1 Star. The lack of keeping up with technology is why I’m going to soon close my account here and use my ICCU accounts for all of my banking.

Touch ID No Longer Works
Loved this app until just recently when the Touch ID quit working. It randomly disappeared and I have tried repeatedly to set it back up only to have it disappear again after navigating away from the successful setup confirmation. I called the support line and was told it must be my phone because there have been no changes to the app or any other reports of problems from other users; however, Touch ID works on all my other financial apps. Was advised to delete the app and reinstall. Did so and a new switch appears on the login screen to set up Touch ID (this was not there before). I have set up the Touch ID multiple times only to encounter the exact problems as before. Disappointed this great feature no longer works on the app.

Great App! But only when it works... :(
Maybe this is the only way to contact app support for this app... when I tried to touch the “contact support” link, it took me to a page to find a local banking branch. I tried to use it this morning because I needed to transfer some funds. The app login screen came up, but from there it was frozen. I could not enter my login info. It might as well have been a non-interactive photo. This is about the third time I’ve run into this problem since I’ve put this app on my device, which was only about a month ago or so. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! When I need it, I NEED IT!

Non usable app
This app has blocked me from logging in multiple times saying I don’t have the right password and sometimes my user name. Then it locks my account randomly. I have to call customer service to get everything reset. I also can’t use most of the functions the app shows! Statements are inaccessible and give an error pop up every time I try. I can’t even do a transfer from checking to savings account as it says it keeps experiencing errors! I haven’t even tried to do Bill pay but I’m sure that doesn’t work either. How can I trust my accounts are safe when I can’t even use their simple banking program? Ridiculous! If I had another option for a bank in my area I would go there instead but I don’t.

Is this app from 2004?
Just switched over to this bank and it’s been rough to say the least. The bank is great, the app is absolutely archaic. I’m pretty confused as to why the developers know how bad their app is (how can you ignore all of these horrible reviews?) but they won’t update it to 2023 standards… feels like something I was using in 2004. Clunky, slow, ugly interface and not user friendly at all, limited options to do things yourself within the app, I mean the list goes on and on. They really could take a note on mobile banking from literally ANY other major banking corp (Bank of America, Bank of the West, Key Bank, Wells Fargo etc etc….) come on guys…you’re a bank…put some money into this app.

Helpful Developer Fixes Problem
My 4 star review is now a 5! Glacier Bank addressed my only issue with the app by quickly implementing a fix for the Touch ID problem I had previously. Before the April 18 update, Touch ID would not allow me to log back in after logging out. I would have to set it up every time I entered the app only to have it fail to remember I had completed setup next time I logged in. Now it works like a charm every time! Thanks to Glacier Bank for being so helpful and designing a simple and useful app.

app is a disaster
i try to use my thumbprint and it says its invalid, then i use the password that the bank gave me and it says its invalid so then i call the number on the app and get my password reset and usually every other app or online thing i have used that needs a password says what credentials the password needs to be valid. ie,( password must contain 1 capital letter and 1 number ) but this app doesn’t tell you. (this would be a GREAT update for you guys to put in).so i try to make a password like 12 times and none of them are valid because i have no clue what is needed for a password to be valid. now that everything is fixed the thumbprint option to log in has magically disappeared.

Bill pay non functional
I have been banking with Glacier family of banks since 2011. I have 6 different accounts with them. The mobile app has never been as robust as the other financial institutions I deal with, but I usually got my business done. Since January 1, 2020, I have been unable to pay any bills using “bill pay”. Either on my iPhone or using my laptop. I have contacted Glacier Bank 4 times on this problem and have not had any response from them and the problem persists to this day! I am ready to pull my money out and go with another bank that has up to date software and a support staff that is both competent and professional enough to communicate with customers when there are problems.

Someone needs to fix
I downloaded the app, and was able to log in. After I checked my info logged out. Later I went to show my wife but was not able to log back in. Went to my bank and had the password reset, logged in all was good. Set up bio scan on iPhone worked for about an hour then went to log in and all info was forgotten. Still unable to log in. It’s scary to me to think that my bank has such a broken app security wise and you would think higher ups would want good customer experience for those people who invest their money into this bank. The reviews for this app have reflected this for some time now and I challenge the developers to do the right thing and fix this.

Mobile check deposit is HORRENDOUS
The app is fine EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN REASON I HAVE IT- to do mobile check deposits. It gets stuck as it switches from portrait to landscape (the only way it will do mobile deposit is in landscape) and you can’t see the whole screen when in landscape, so you’re trying to S-T-R-E-T-C-H the screen so you can push the submit button, which barely shows. So you’re pulling screen up while simultaneously trying to click submit. It rarely works. Now today every time I tried to take a pic of the check I’m depositing, the screen just goes BLACK when I angle phone down to take a picture of the check on my desk, and doesn’t show the camera view until phone is VERTICAL!? Absolutely the worst app ever.

Suspending card and activation
Recently the app has updated which was fine. I enjoyed the app a lot before the update and it was easy to use. Now that there was an update however when I went to activate my card so I can access my funds I realized it wouldn’t work. I tried over and over but even when it said “successfully activated it was not, it would say suspended on the other screen. I’m not sure how to resolve this, I think that you need to update and fix this it must be a bug.

App functionality worsening
We have been using this app for many years, and in recent weeks we have noticed that there are more and more rejections of deposits for incorrect amounts that are perfectly correct, and it does not matter what we do to try to correct the image, or the fact that the amount in the image is crystal clear and often even printed digitally, not even by hand. The app seems to be unable to accurately distinguish dollar amounts anymore.

This app is garbage
I gave it one star only because it won’t let me give zero. This app is absolute garbage, between mobile deposits not working (the only reason i use the app in the first place), to the app automatically reseting your password, to now apparently the app crashing every-time i try to open it (it doesn’t even make it to the login/password interface!!). I cannot stress this enough, this app is absolute trash. In an era when basic technology like a bank app is the bare minimum to provide your costumers, this makes me incredibly disappointed in Glacier Bank. My wife and I even discussed moving our money out of Glacier for that reason.

No Face ID!
I can finally get Face ID to work on my iPhone XS I had to completely uninstall and them reinstall the latest release and then I was able to get Face ID to work. I figured this out on my own. The person at the phone number that Support gave me said that Face ID was not supported. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. Support needs to give us a phone number to call that has a support tech instead of a Bank clerk. Anyway thanks for fixing this APP it is working great now.

Unacceptable holes in functionality
The app doesn’t show totals in pending payments. You either have to add them up yourself or log into full site. When setting up a new payee there is no option to use the ones they have set up for you, if you don’t want to type everything in by hand you must go to the website. And the web site makes you lower your security settings to work in Safari. I switched to this bank because of bill pay frustration with my previous bank. Seriously considering switching back based on this experience.

This app and bank used to be good. Then they changed things early 2022. Suddenly they started shuffling around the date of when things come out of accounts which causes overdrafts, not waiting the 24 hours to charge overdraft fees, and repeated messing up to the point I can’t help but see it as intentional. There has been too many things to count. My family went years without overdraft fees, this past year overdraft fees have cost my family thousands of dollars. There are serious flaws if not moral corruption. I cannot recommend this in the slightest.

They need to do something different. The app is trash and so Is some of the banks. The app for my new bank is so good! They will send me notifications on when my account is low and when I have over drafted. The bank I use through this app is terrible. Didn’t close out my account when I asked them to and then charged me over draft fees for a whole month without my knowledge. Neither the bank or the app alerted me of this and now $200 later hopefully my account will finally be closed. I would personally say to use another banking system because this one obviously doesn’t care about you.

Terrible app
Constant issues, and will occasionally kick me out of the app for whatever reason, and when I try to have my password reset, I never get the texts or emails. If I could give this app 0 stars, i would. PLEASE put some money into the app so the user interface is better, because anything is better than this. Meanwhile they are stupidly spending money on renovating their bank in Kalispell, but haven’t put any thought into making the app better. And of course they care so little about their costumers that they never look at their reviews.

Pathetic excuse for an app
This app is so far behind it never updates on time I just had a family member send me some money and it’s still not showing up in my account this is the first issue I’ve had with it but it’s one too many also no Face ID that I could find I have to type in my password every time also they do not update frequent enough most apps update at least twice a month we’re lucky if this one updates once a month needs an update badly and in desperate need of some new features these developers must not know what they are doing because they can’t keep up

Terrible
This app invalidates your password periodically to the point where the app is useless. Three times in the last few months I’ve had to reset my password despite my extensive efforts to be sure I wasn’t just mistyping or forgetting it. In fact, by the third time I saved it in my phone passwords, wrote it on paper, and texted it to myself from another phone. But, without fail, three weeks later the password wouldn’t work. To make matters worse, each time I called the “help service” employee gave me an entirely different answer. This app must is poorly maintained, don’t waste your energy.

I would give 0 stars if possible.
This app is extremely frustrating. It doesn’t have all the necessary capabilities and every time I attempt to use it there is an issue. It rarely lets me use the functions outside of business hours and as of right now my husband can’t even use the app as it claims his password is incorrect but won’t allow him to change it either, so he cannot even get into the app or online. Very annoying. We are considering changing banks over this as almost all our banking is remote.

Needs fixed
Update: Issue still not fixed. I would change banks just to avoid further frustration. It’s so annoying how I can’t even use my online banking without having to change my password once a week. It’s very inconvenient. I constantly need to call the bank and reset my password. The app locks me out of my account. It says I have an incorrect password and it locks me out. My password/credentials are correct. It’s very frustrating.

Terrible!
Wow you’d think that a bank would want to keep a competitive edge and have a great functioning app. Nope! Most of the time the app doesn’t even load, just says “loading” and the check deposit functionality rarely works. Also, you can’t even see what password you typed in, super frustrating. App developer- Please don’t just respond to this review with a blanket response if you’re sorry and will forward on to customer service like you did for all the other reviews. Just fix and update the freaking app!

Worthless
My wife and I have had numerous problems logging in. So far we have had to reset our password twice. There will not be a third time. Face ID doesn’t work even if the login credentials work. We are about ready to close our accounts since it is impossible for me to remote deposit checks while I’m at work out of state. We’re not getting anywhere with customer service, and by the vast majority of reviews here it is obvious that Glacier Bank contracted with the cheapest app developers they could find. Well, they got precisely what they paid for- absolute crap.

Update
You guys seriously need to update your app. Apps are used for everything nowadays, especially more so since the corona virus. This app allows you to do nothing. The set up is old, it looks outdated, and from all the negative reviews I read, I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. Love the bank and how personal the people are at the locations, but for such a large branch of banks in multiple states, you would think you guys would be on top of the game when it comes to your banking app.

I don’t even know why I bother checking my account balance. It’s never accurate. If I spend say $50, it’ll show up as a $50 withdraw from my account. Then, a whole like week later (after I’ve long forgotten about spending $50 on food) my account will put that $50 back in and make it look like my balance is higher than before, and so I’ll go out and buy food or something, then the next day it’ll suddenly pull the $50 back out and BOOM I’m over-drafted by $6, and BOOM $100 overdraft fee. I’ve been screwed over by this so many times, I HATE this bank and this app

A giant leap backwards
I enjoyed the previous version. It would let me see the names of the people I used my debit card with. I have not had any issues with logging in or using the app. It's just frustrating that I have to now go to my desktop computer to see who a transaction was with. Thanks for the update. It now shows me what I want.

I've had nothing but a good experience with this app. When you get it, you need to tap on different items to find the different capabilities. Once I did that, I was running smoothly through the various functions. It could be a little faster-updating deposits and checks coming back.

Horrible Functionality
Bank, Please listen to the reviews here. Your app is very sub par. It has about a 50% chance of not logging in at all. If your client gets through that hurdle, there is a chance that the Face ID or save my information doesn’t work. After that the number of functions within the site are significantly lacking from all other banking apps I use. This has personally effected me on multiple occasions. I am seriously considering moving my personal and work accounts else where.

These bank apps are evolving to be the main, if not exclusive way people interact with their banks. The fact that another bank had an awesome app is one of the main reasons we switched all but one seldom used account. This is why Glacier should perhaps consider hiring a new developer. I don’t think you grasp the seriousness of having a 2.3 star app in this day and age! This app is you!! I was hoping the last update would finally fix the ridiculousness of being instantly logged back in with facial recognition upon logging out. Sadly, no. Of course all the people at the actual bank are always fabulous to work with! But the problem is, we hardly ever have need to physically go in to Glacier, (Mountain West) or our new bank, anymore.

Great but needs a little work
I love the app! I can check my balance and make transfers which works really great. I haven’t had any problems with log in and Face ID works good so far but when it comes to depositing checks every time I try to make a deposit and submit it, I get a notice saying (You must endorse your check: “Mobile Deposit Glacier Bank”) I hope this can be fixed.

Used to be great
Why the sudden requirement that I write Mobile Deposit on the back of checks? 3/4 checks I’ve tried to deposit recently won’t recognize that I’ve written it and thereby deny my deposit. It worked great before the change, with almost a 100% success rate on deposits. This is a huge deal to me, as I hate wasting my time driving downtown to deposit checks when I could be using my time more productively for my small business. Very seriously considering taking my business elsewhere over this frustrating change.

Unreliable
There is no point to this app if it’s constantly “experiencing problems” and crashes every time I need to make a basic transfer. It’s so much of an inconvenience to not access info about my accounts when away from a desktop that I’m probably just going to use a different bank. 5 years of putting up with this app’s sub par interface (and the online banking website, for that matter). It’s seldom updated and apparently just incompatible with a basic iPhone.

Still has bugs
For several years now I’ve noticed the mobile app does not show all transactions made. I still have to log in on a computer to find missing transactions. For example a deposit made on June 29th will not show in the mobile app, but it will show up when you log in using a computer and going through the Glacier Bank website. I’ve reported it many times, but no one seems to care enough to fix it...so balancing the checkbook is quite frustrating every month.

This app just doesn’t work.
I downloaded this app about 7 months ago and it worked fine-for awhile. I got tired of trying and called the bank and they couldn’t figure it out either. Spontaneously it started working again a few months ago but only for a couple of weeks and then stopped again. It just won’t open. I don’t recommend this app for anyone. If I could give this app a “no stars rating” it would be more appropriate. So. Disappointed.

This app is awful! To get to the pending transactions you have to scroll all the way down past day upon days of past transactions and while you scroll down it keeps updating and bumping where your at in the list! Don’t even get me started on how frustrating it can be to transfer between accounts! Instead of telling everyone to stop in the local branch and complain to people who cannot fix the problem- maybe the app developers could actually work on these issues

I love this bank, the people are nice and trustworthy and I cannot say enough good things about the human aspect of this bank. The app though, is rather terrible. Nightly between roughly 8pm PST and 1am PST my balance becomes wildly inaccurate. Sometimes increasing by as much as $150. Why have an app if it is not trustworthy and your balance is likely wrong? I love the bank- but they need to throw this app in the garbage and start from scratch to develop a new one.

Horrible app
This is by far one of the worst apps i have downloaded very unprofessional. I spoke to management several times in a row month after month this app has had my account over drawn in the negatives more then twice!!!! Management then tells me do i keep track of my money with a check book or receipts?! No... thats why we trusted our bank with this app. Like I said very unprofessional . I highly suggest not downloading this app unless you want to be swindled out of your money

App is so bad I’m switching banks!
95% of the time I try to use the app I just get a spinning circle or a notification saying there is trouble displaying my account, or that the system is offline. In this day and age online banking is a huge part of having a bank,and unfortunately this is the worst online banking app I have ever used. I keep hoping it will get better, but with every update it is worse! Time to higher a new company to design/ manage your app Glacier bank. As for me, I can’t take it anymore, I will be switching banks.

Honestly switch banks
I have been using this bank since 2017 and have never had any good experiences with this app. I am signed out at least 3 times a month and having moved to Spokane there is only one branch located near me. While the bank itself is okay I wish they would switch to an app that worked better. Made me change banks just to have a mobile app that allowed me to see my balances accurately and transfer funds in a more concise way.
