I love that I can watch games being played between people better than me. I love that I can play myself on games. This app is pretty much perfect. But I can’t give five stars. The blinking ads at the bottom of the page are severely distracting. And go against the very aesthetic that go promises. To not give me an option to pay for an ad free version of this app in 2022 is incredible to me. Give me an option to give you $1.99 to never see an ad in this app again and I will give you five stars.
The app seems fine, but to play a game you must wait > a minute while some remedial game advertisement attempts to sell you. Come on! I’m playing Go, an ancient, intellectual strategy game, and I have to wait to watch something as inane as Candy Crunch or Royal Match?!?!? At least choose ads for games that require a brain!!!
Excellent app but the computer players are poorly designed. The highest level computer is indistinguishable from the intermediate level, and it is capable of being beaten with some practice.
I haven't procured a victory yet. Not even against the baby. However, I'm newly introduced to the game, and am currently working on vanquishing the genius infant whom has so far dominated me and my poignant attempts at victory. Curtains close please. :D (lol)
Gameplay is awkward with board edges off the screen. No hints come up when hint button pressed. I'm not sure what Japanese rules are but I guess it means you lose no matter what. I'm not interested in going to another site to figure out the game so a simple tutorial would be nice. And the avatars are childish and weird. I don't know how to play this at all and this was not the version to learn.
I’ve learned a lot about go from astonishingly intelligent women. This app’s “easy” difficulty setting is called “pretty girl”. Aside from the misogyny, the app is just kind of meh. I’d recommend avoiding this trash and just downloading GoQuest instead. It has a weird aesthetic, but is far and away the best go app for Apple devices.
There is no way to get rid of the ads. I can’t, I won’t, play games with ads. Put an option on to pay, like, $1.99 to get rid of the ads. I am putting this app on the iCloud shelf. I’ll check periodically to see if you’ve updated the app accordingly.
I didn’t play the game because I couldn’t turn off the music. I kept tapping the settings button but it didn’t work. Could possibly be my phone and not the app.
this app lags and heats up my iPad to a shocking degree given it’s freakin’ Go. There are MOBAs that run far more smoothly on my device than this, which leads me to believe the app is either incredibly poorly made or it’s bloated with less wholesome processes.
Upon getting to the Difficulty settings, “easy” was represented by a picture of a young girl titled “pretty girl”. All the other options had male icons. Interesting choice, game devs. Thanks for insulting and discouraging an entire gender from playing your app. Uninstalled.
Never got to the game - it just kept playing ads. Either this is a complete scam or something is badly wrong. ANNOYING ANNOYING ADS. Christ, when will developers stop doing this. Just sell the game.
Choose your opponent: varying levels of male opponents (master, genius, etc.) and one female—“pretty girl (easy)”. Seriously?! Deleted and am installing one of the countless other options out there.
Great Go app, particularly the ability to see your territory. However, this is offset by the “bots” being all male except for the low-level “Pretty Girl.” Queens Gambit, anyone?
WOMEN ARE NOT DUMBER THAN MEN AND APPEARANCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SKILL SET. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS NEEDS SAID. STOP. ENFORCING. SEXIST. LYING. STEREOTYPES. The fact that “pretty girl” is even a level name? Especially DIRECTLY under “gentleman?” This is literal sexism and agism to add insult to injury. Im reporting this game to the app store. This is appalling. DO NOT GET.
The skill level rankings for this app are unbelievably sexist. It labels the “easy” setting “pretty girl”. Seriously boys, what’s up? This is not only totally unnecessary, but dangerous and damaging. Idiots...
