Easy to use for balance checks, deposits, bill pay, transfers and no bugs to speak of. The app used to frequently ask me to manually log in again, even though I had facial recognition set up. That was so annoying. They fixed that, so I’m pretty happy overall. I didn’t know GNCU was into loan sharking, though. They have a short term loan program with an astoundingly high interest rate. Probably better than the payday loan places but still …
This app has a very clean, easy-to-read interface. The navigation is intuitive as well. I’m always easily able to find what I’m looking for without having to struggle. Some of the functions require logging in to other portals, but that doesn’t detract from the app. The account balances are featured prominently, and you can easily see at a glance how your funds are distributed across your accounts. (I just wish I had more money in mine, lol.) But this app is really nice and easy to use. There are a lot of functions, but it’s not cluttered or busy. Everything is easy to find. Overall, I really enjoy it. It’s made online banking tremendously easier.
-You took away the ability to edit the vender names of payouts on a ledger, and I need you to bring that back. -I also need you to add a checkbox (that can be clicked to change color or add a check mark) at the beginning of each entry to make it easier to do reconciling. Make it so that the checkmarks or color change remains in place, regardless of how many times you log out and in, until you click an erase button. -I would also like the ability to print a portion of the ledger from a certain given date, to a certain given date. In fact, a macro which prints only a selected month’s entries would be GOLDEN! Give me those three abilities, and I’ll give you a five star rating!
I left BofA after many many years of frustrated monthly check book balancing with charges who knows where they came from and could never be explained. Never any resolution. I then tried GNCU and have been there customer now for 8 years + and have never been happier. I can balance my check book to the penny every month. I know every charge if there is any. Getting a loan and with a good rate is so much less work than what I had experience with BofA. I promote GNCU whenever I can Customer service is what they are all about. I trust GNCU completely and will never leave. Thank you GNCU PW of Reno
I love this app and use it to check my balances about once a day. I especially like the new feature that allows you to see your updated credit score, which is so much better than using another site that might even charge you to see your own credit score. If your card is lost or stolen, they also have great customer service! Would definitely recommend for ease of use and its logical design.
Now we’re talking 😊 Not sure why all the bad reviews. Finally have History of Transactions and more! I’ve only started to look around…still need to find settings for things like email notifications for new transactions… Getting Security Notifications though 😉 Fantastic move forward…Thank you! Think I’ll wait a bit on this update though, afraid to spoil a good thing. Come on - Congratulate Them, this is a Massive Improvement!
i love being able to access anytime of day, and do all my banking without having to go to the bank or be at my desk. Also, you can Zelle, make deposits, do transfers, pay loans, pay bills, you literally can do everything! wouldn’t have it any other way. but once in a while i make it into the bank to say hi to everyone. it feels great when they know you by name and have the best service and cheerful smiles every time.
Bank of Americas app is way better, this app doesn’t offer coupons or doesn’t show you your account number or routing numbers. It’s just missing a lot of stuff. Not saying it bad but for a great bank like them to not invest a little more into their software, they should rethink that. Personally I prefer to do it all myself and the app helps with that but with this one you have to go in to get those direct deposit checks or wait a little longer for your direct deposit. Or call to get the information you need.
Prior to this App being implemented, you could see your total checking balance & total pending bill balance on the same Dashboard, but that was taken away when this App was activated. You could also change the content of each downloaded expense & income checking entry to whatever you wanted, now you can’t, those wear two major applications that allowed you to personalize your account which is why I’m not overly impressed with this new App which doesn’t allow you to make any changes!
I use the app daily however two requests 1) I wish I could see our mortgage info in the app since this is an account we have with GNCU 2) I wish we could transfer money from accounts to pay personal line of credit instead of having to go into the loan section of the app. But this second one is minor. I do just wish we could see mortgage balance though
I will give them 4.5 stars mainly cause they’ve made my way of life so much more simple , the app is super convenient! Only downfall is I can’t use my credit score feature cause they can’t verify me thru my nevada issued ID OR Social . I went into the office with very little help . Real bummer considering the main reason I got them was for the credit score feature . Other then that this bank is amazing
I honestly liked the prior banking version better, as I was able to make remarks within the transaction content. This version is more restrictive and less intuitive. The one thing I see that has been consistently problematic for many years; there are NO reconciliation features. As a client, it’s beyond helpful to be able to mark off transactions and balance with my own records. I know other banks have this feature and it really does make a difference to the end user.
I have had the best results and the best service I’ve ever had in my life. And I was with another credit union for 45 years. This credit union in Nevada has exceeded every expectation I ever had. The people could not be nicer, more helpful, more kinder. they are amazing at the Minden office. I would highly recommend this credit union to anyone and everyone if they want the service
I went out of town so they put a hold on my card if there were a way to use the app to say it was me and remove the hold that would have been better cause I had to stay another night in Idaho to be able to call them and have it removed so I could get fuel I appreciate them looking out but if I could have been able to use it since they are closed on the weekends that would have been better
So far the app is much better than the old one.. however navigating around is a bit difficult since you can’t just back out of a screen , you have to use that menu button. It took me a while to figure out how to make a loan payment
I have been kicked out of my account. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to go to the bank. I’ve had to sit on the phone forever to reset my phone for security reasons because I messed up putting in my passwords it does not work and now I’m having problems with the Greater Nevada credit union MasterCard knocking me out every week so I cannot go on and see my balance or pay my bill. Also, my line of extended credit I am dealing with also I am about to go back to paper bills been with you for 20 years and I’m about to leave
I think GNCU had good intentions but this app fell short. Way too much having to navigate back to the Home Screen to start a task. Feels Doesn’t feel like using an app, feels like surfing a website from a phone screen. Having to click multiple times to find anything and the fact that the new software wiped out all of our old info, has been beyond frustrating. Setting up transfers to fellow GNCU members failed as well, since you aren’t using full account numbers to validate info. This could be good but needs a lot of TLC.
Generally a very good app, I appreciate that I can use Touch ID to get in. And the use of credit scores is nice, I had no idea what mine was before this app However, I just went to use the app today and it was completely uninstalled from my phone. Just gone from my Home Screen. I didn’t do this, my husband wouldn’t have, and no one else has access to my phone. What the heck?
There are things that I think are improvement's, but the simplicity of the older app… really makes me miss it. Took forever, the first few times to find the transfer funds link. Same with use bill pay link. Not sure why we have to have multiple buttons, one in each top corner, but there is always room for improvement.
After a month still unable to do a member to member transfer on the app or the website. Even the bank can’t do it. Can’t even set it up. When will this get fixed? Every time I try or the bank tries, we get a message that says “An unknown error has acquired”. I’ll change my review when this gets fixed. Don’t understand why this was even wiped out when I had this set up prior to this update.
I deposited a check via the app, it kept showing it was pending deposit. 2 weeks later I had to drive to the credit union, show them the physical check before they would deposit it. I always keep the checks until they clear & glad I kept this one. Original deposit December 14, finally accepted Jan 2.
The new GNCU app is awful. It doesn’t refresh your balance unless you completely close down the app and re-open it. It doesn’t show you your account number when you’re looking for it. When you go and call the support number and they try and help you with it the screen that they see is not the screen that you see. I’ve had nothing but problems with this bank and this app for the last year now.
The app’s been treating me pretty well. Not many complaints, guess one of the only ones is the constant maintained lately. It was kind of frustrating not being able to use banking when I needed it due to that. But besides that, it’s usually very reliable.
Any time I need any type of assistance, it’s been a pleasurable experience. Courteous helpful answers any questions, sometimes a little wait going into the Los Altos office, but it’s because they’re been helpful to everyone that comes in.
Using the GNCU app on my iPhone is easy and works great. I’ve never had a problem with the app and I’m always able to review my account using my IPhone. It’s makes me happy and I feel safer knowing I can get to my accounts using my iPhone!
I liked the old app better. This one is bad math sometimes and shows me wrong account balances. I noticed it when it subtracted a charge twice. It fixed itself after a few hours, but the possibility of an incorrect NSF makes me less than confident in this new digital bank system.
I would like to connect my business account on the same app so I can make a transfer from my business account to my personal account. I have asked if we can do that and it seems like I get a bit of a runner room.
Fairly solid app, can be difficult to find some features though. I always struggle to remember where to go when I want to lock my debit card if I loose it. Other than that it’s a good app.
The app is not convenient to post payments to your account from external accounts and it was a pain to add an external account in order to make easier transfers. When you make payments to your monthly payment for a car loan most times it kicks you out 10 times before you can get the payment through. I’ve spoke with the staff about this and they agreed it’s not very good. This app gets a 1.
I am able to do all of my banking on my computer and phone, it has been so helpful working out of state for the past 3 months, it really helped me stay organized.
Better than before but still crashes or freezes an insane amount
I make sure to keep the app updated because of this but it’s still frustrating as all heck. I really hope they can get it improved even more. But I do like the changes they made when I can actually get into the app. I’d put a 2.5 but it won’t let me do half’s lol
I have had to schedule three separate in-person appointments and place numerous phone calls to GNCU just to be able to utilize this app. It is not user-friendly whatsoever and I’ve had to pay late fees on my auto loan just due to the inconvenience of this app. It’s impossible to link an external account in less than a handful of months. Just a terrible face to an otherwise decent credit union.
I like the app a lot. Gets better every year. This app has become very refined to where I can’t think of anything else they can do to improve it. Good job!
Tabs are difficult to follow the “programmers logic”, it’s pretty cheap to fix it to be more specific on transactions. I’m still unable to tie my Credit Card to my checking or savings to streamline making payments. So now I have to go into my local branch to get it accomplished.
I think this website should be doing a lot more more on the line of a bank mentality. Your bill pay section was changed and very unworkable and not forgiving. It used to be easier to work with.
Love the new update, all the missing features are in her. The only issue I have is that it keeps asking my to register/trust this device even though I’ve done it several times.
