Unhappy
I am new with Guardian Home Security and after signing on with Giardian, a couple months into the contract two areas of my home showed that they were not functioning properly. I called for service and I have had to wait over 5 weeks for someone to come and look at the problem. The reason for the delay that was given to me was - Covid. If that is true then don’t take on new clients if you cannot service them. I would like to talk to someone about this delay.

Awful Customer Support. Awful equipment
Our keypad failed to clear a fire alarm with both sets of codes. Tech support failed to call us to confirm emergency before sending FD. We didn’t have our phones with us to disarm the system via the app. Every alarm in the house was going off for 15-20mins until we (ourselves) could clear the alarm with the app. They couldn’t do it remotely while on the phone, and the panel was still registering a fire with sound alarm. We couldn’t clear the panel. After 1hr + on the phone with tech support reentering sequences of codes we said enough and asked for a tech to come out. They then wanted to charge US to have a tech respond to service/replace the panel…a full week later! Terrible…after much chagrin and complaint, they were willing to waive the service fee. Awful customer service and business model. We were considering canceling right there and now but Guardian would charge us $800 early cancellation fee. Yup! Typical tech contract scheme with poor customer support and ownership. I decided to use the app disarm ‘at home’ feature and sure enough…it cleared the panel. No thanks to support or the panel instructions. Horrible. Avoid this service. Don’t reactivate or renew and enjoy your useless home décor.

I would give zero stars if I could
This app is no help. My stupid doorbell camera went on the fritz about 4 months ago and nothing seems to fix it! It is constantly shutting down and says it is loosing connectivity. What good is having the camera if it only work intermittently?!?!?! It says how to fix it, but you have to be home to do it?! I got this system because I work 48 hours straight, very disappointing. I’m not going to pay almost $100 for someone to come out again, THAT IS RIDICULOUS! I’m ready to switch to Ring or another company. I tried to go to customer service on the app and send an email, due to being at work, and I get a mailer demon email stating the email address is not able to go through so then I click on the service ticket in the app and I get an error message and get kicked out of the customer service area. What a joke. On top of that, the thermostat settings don’t work. I did a set temperature for both the week and weekends and no matter what I set it at it constantly changes itself to 80-83 degrees! Those aren’t even temperatures I have set in the app so I have no clue where it is coming from.

Not worth the money
I’d like to know why it doesn’t record entire moments, it’ll cut off if it actually saves the footage… kind of pointless if someone were to be committing a crime…. Also, majority of the time it doesn’t even save the video…. Again kind of pointless. We had Ring previously and are seriously considering going back. We got this because we built a home and it was offered. An example of what’s making us considering going back my driveway picked up a vehicle IN MY DRIVEWAY…. Didn’t save it… my doorbell camera picked the man up on my porch looking through my windows…. That saved but only recorded what is allowed… didn’t know if he did anything… didn’t record him leaving pulling out NOTHING! so I had to call the police department to make sure he left and report it…. Ring would’ve captured the entire event.

App crashes
The app crashes and frequently doesn’t communicate with remote devices. This past Monday I stood in the garage for 15 minutes trying to disarm the system. I kept getting a message that the app couldn’t communicate with the server. I had no choice but to just go in. I wasn’t going to spend all afternoon in the garage. So I enter my house setting off the alarm. I immediately disarmed the system. Unfortunately, it wasn’t communicating with the monitoring station. 12 minutes later the police show up (I’m glad they checked). Then at the 15 minute mark Guardian calls. While on the call, the rep says the disarm signal just came across. Wow. There should be a back up. Customers shouldn’t be left high and dry when the app goes down.

Beware if use Guardian
Guardian represents contract transfers as the result of moves. However, they put people in a new contract for extended period without telling them they didn’t do the transfer of initial contract. Then they won’t honor what there staff tell you without multiple phone calls and having to speak with a supervisor. The supervisors did finally help, but it was unnecessary to waste time and money on this type of nonsense. Now trying to post review and app won’t let me, without having me repeat posting step multiple times. Go figure, if give one star you can’t post, but if you change stars to 4 or 5 it let’s you post

The “improved” app took away the the “contact us” link
Prior to the app “improvement”, there was a contact us button that provided a direct link to the telephone number of the Guardian call center. Now, the “support“ button on the app only takes you to take you to a frequently asked questions page. There is no phone number for the company anywhere in the app. This is not expedient in any emergency situation, nor is it good customer service. I should not have to look for Guardian’s phone number outside of the app if I need to call them, particularly if there is an emergency happening in real time.

The doorbell video
This hardly works. When someone is at the door, I cannot see who is it or even talk because the app will scroll then shoe retry or troubleshoot. We have talked with a representative and gotten technical support. I’m convinced it’s the company’s system and a malfunction. My family and friend with the Ring never have these issues. It’s time to find a quality product. Very disappointed!

BUG in update—denies access to text alerts
Usually the app alerts me to all movement outside. It still does that but since last update, there is a lag saved it’s not as reliable in capturing video and alerting. Most frustrating is that now when i click on the link in texts to see what was captured, half the time I now get a “You don’t have permission” to view content. This never happened before and is a BUG that needs to be fixed. What’s the point of an alert if I can’t see the picture captured from video? It’s sporadic so clearly a bug and not my settings. Please fix!

Horrible
There is no way to access your home if you are locked out and the signal is down for the phone app. I had no idea the phone app wasn’t working. So when I was locked out I thought I could just log in to the app and open the garage. But obviously no one thought of this issue and have no way for the resident to get into the home. There should have been a coded box on the outside for access in this situation. I really wish I had gone with vivint but gaurdian trucked us into thinking we had to use them. Completely u satisfied and changing companies as soon as I can without the bs penalty they charge. Do not get this system as it is obsolete. Out of date and simply basic and horrible in today’s tech savy world. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Bad bad bad
There is a problem with the products they use my doorbell is at 137 degrees I called support and was on hold for one hour and nineteen minutes before I hung up and set my alarm off so they would call me. Then they said we have over 2000 support calls at the moment. 2000!!!!! Calls!!!!! That is another sign there is a problem with the system. The support said I have 15 min left in queue but that was what I was told an hour and nineteen minutes ago. He then said he would have someone call and said goodnight. What do I do feel unsafe in my home with the alarm on or off? I will be canceling and going to a different system that I can feel safe with.

Needs one important feature to be perfect
The app is simple and easy to use, no learning curve whatsoever. I do like to suggest one feature to be implemented: to arm and disarm by timer, like a programmable thermostat. There are people in my family who don't have access or don't know how to use the wall control panel, but they get up really early in the morning and like to go out and exercise. I wish I could progam the app to disarm at say 6am, without me having to wake up and do it myself.

Guardian protection services
I wish I could enjoy this system, but there is always a malfunction. Having security for my family and I is a big deal, especially since the military sends me out of town very often. I have had the system for about a month now and I am not enjoying it. For reason malfunctions keep popping up. I cannot trouble shoot the malfunction unless a tech comes out to my house. Fortunately I still have warranty so I am not being charged for all the tech visits, but what about when my warranty goes out? The money is going to start adding up and it just isn’t worth it. I do not recommend guardian protection services.

Notification issues
Door bell alert notification activate every time I open and close the door, every time someone walks by. I have worked with multiple service support people to get the system configured to alert ONLY when someone pushers the door bell and have had no success. Alert notifications can only be changed if you own a computer. You can not change notification settings in the IOS application. Just sad! Overall happy with the system but... oh my phone battery is running out due to the number of notifications TTYL

App Delays and Doesn’t Tell You
We’ve had this app for about two years. We pay $200 a month for high quality internet and cable. Somehow, since we’ve had this system it constantly delays notices, and doesn’t arm as prompt as you would hope in an emergency. We’ve notified Guardian several times and they bring a tech out to end up not figuring out the issue, or it becomes a temporary fix. Now it makes sense why they have you under contract. We would NOT recommend their security system or cameras.

False alarms
Panel triggers false alarms that sins at the fire department when only just trying to test the detectors. Despite Guardian calling and speaking with a representative to not send out the fire department, they send them out anyway. This is no good since I will eventually be fined. Hannah seems to have no way of putting the system into test mode.

Non reliable, not worth it
This thing gives me a trauma! Always gaves me a false alarm ! Every time i armed stay it, its always say glass breaks door or family room door breaks! I have to call the 911 cause we are scared but its all false alarm,, and then, when we go out to armed away, its say family room motion detected and how can we always say its false or true alarm, if we are away from the house and how can we call 911 if we are not sure anymore? The 911 already threatened me that if i call them in the third time and its false alarm, they will arrest me so i have to cut there service they are useless

Dissapointed
So my husband contacted this company to let them know that the doorbell wasn’t recording when someone would ring the doorbell and asked could someone come out to take a look at the system, so instead of coming like they stated to us “oh we come out for any problems just call us we’re local in your area” ...please a bunch of crap!! So they stated to my husband you’re only allowed 400 clips per year..ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!! DO you know how many times a day we enter and leave our house a day, a month let alone a year. All I can say is RIDICULOUS!! Do better GUARDIAN AND GUARD YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

Could be better
My doorbell camera always thinks my holiday decorations are a “person” I wish there was a way to delete video files in batches rather than one at a time. The wind blows the decorations and it literally triggers the camera every minute. Also I would love to be able to set my outdoor lights to turn on and off at a certain time, rather than having to remember to turn them on & off.

Limitations
While Guardian is a security company, this app lacks technology features that are available with other less advanced services like ATT. . Your panel and app should add the following features: ability to schedule the alarm to automatically arm and/or disarm at a set time each day, week or month.

Delayed event triggers
App sends a banner notification that something has trigger the alert (ie a person or vehicle on property) and then when you click that banner it just takes you to the current live video. Clicking the saved video doesn’t reveal whatever triggered the alert until >20 minutes later. So not only does it send banner notifications minutes after the event, you then can’t review the event for up to 20 minutes.

App inferior to cheaper alarm systems
This app used by guardian is far inferior to those of much cheaper alarm systems. Much cheaper alarm systems like Ring allow you to schedule automatically turning alarm on and off at certain times of the day. Guardian requires you to pay for this service above and beyond the monitoring capability. In fact the cheaper systems allow you to do that even if you do not pay for monitoring. Considering moving to the much cheaper systems that quite frankly have more capability.

Need more options
For the most part this app and service get the job done. Aside from having a fraudulent 3rd party install my system the service is meat and potatoes. The one thing I do wish you could do on the app is have the capability to turn the chime on and off. I get home late from work on most nights and it wakes my elderly grandfather up. If I could just turn it off before I walk in the door that would save him the trouble. But like I said meat and potatoes. Gets the job done.

Small recommendation
I am enjoying the system thus far and wanted to make a small recommendation. Is it possible to add a turning (animated) fan to signal that the fan is activated? I ask bc I can never tell when the system goes on if it is the fan or the heat. Also, confusion when multiple devices log in on app.

Good Security System
Guardian is a good system. I’m still learning all the ins and outs, but it’s fun to be able to use the cameras and see what’s going on outside. I wish I had gotten a few more cameras. I need to review more videos. Don’t trip the alarm or you will have noise.

Terrible terrible service
I had these people for two years and everything was fine . Now in the past month I have had bad service. They said its due too the 5g update going on in my area. They want me to pay for someone to come out and try to fix it when it’s there issue not mine. Do not use these people go elsewhere. I will be glad when my contract is up. .no stars should be given but I had to give a 1 star to post it.

The alarm does what it’s supposed to when it supposed to. Your reactions to our errors are immediate. We like the mobile app that we can alarm as we are leaving in the car and disarm it when we’re coming in the driveway. Thank you for what you delivered to us.

Timing out
When using app to arm system, it takes forever. Needs an update. As I leave, I wait in my car for my phone to think about arming the system. I don’t have time for this. Sometimes it doesn’t arm the system at all, just times out stating it’s disarmed. Well that’s a pain and not secure when you’ve already left. I would love the convenience of this app if it worked.

Not happy with the doorbell camera
I have called multiple times and they are not able to fix the loading time it take for my to pull up who is at my door?! By the time I see the door camera the person is gone or in my house!!! No mater where I am in my house or out in about, it’s bad! I see my friends and family’s and their are perfect! Why?

Constant issues
When the app is working well, it is great! Too bad it doesn’t work well very often. It doesn’t communicate with my door locks. When speaking through the camera on doorbell, it will randomly kick me off. It also doesn’t communicate well with the thermostat. What a pain dealing with Guardian is!

Works most of the time
Occasionally have a little delay but that could be my own Internet. Recently we had a significant outage for several hours with no notification that the app was down. That was very unsettling. But generally the app has worked well most of the time.

System Never Works When You Need It
Alarm system is very bad when it comes to realizability. Don’t depend on the system working when you need to see a live video or a recording. Most times my reworded clips don’t show up for a day. I have 400 MBPS wifi plus extenders. Very disappointed and way too much $$$ for nothing. Tech staff is excellent but they serve a very poor service provider. Once my term is up I’m leaving them!!!!!

Horrible upgrade
Used app for 18 months never had a problem. They upgraded (more like downgraded) recently. Now I have to log-in every other day. Face recognition no longer works. A short passcode works for 2 days. It’s a hassle. I can’t imagine if I had an emergency and I had to waste precious time entering my user name and password. As soon as my contract expires, I’m switching away from this security system.

Connection to doorbell camera is spotty at best
Don’t count on being able to reliably connect to the front doorbell camera. Id say 30-40% of the time I get a connection issue message, or just a constant “thinking” spiral, even with 600Mbps internet in the house where all other devices seem to work perfectly.

Login issue
Stop signing me out. I select “Keep me logged in” every single time and yet I still get logged out. Then I have to guess the password that I didnt even create to the point where it stops me because I’ve done too many attempts. It shouldn’t even be getting to that point. Why even have a “Keep me logged in” feature when it’s very clearly useless.

Your Command Could Not Be Verified
This app crashes constantly. Try to turn on the alarm and you receive a your command could not be verified message. Not useful when trying to let someone into the house. The app wasn’t like this in the past, this now occurs multiple times a month.

Have to Use Two Apps
The mobile app which is quite easy to use does not have an option to manage system automation. One is forced to go online and log into a different site and make way through numerous steps to change any schedule or automation. Such as light schedules. Very cumbersome.

Thieves
Stay away from this company! They Bind you into contract for years! Really wish I would have know what I was getting into at the time. I’ve been paying the monthly bill for about two years now without having to use the alarm once. The reason I’ve had to pay the monthly installments is because the cost of the early termination fee is outrageous. If I could describe the company in one word it would be CROOKS

App Does Not Work
With the most recent update app does not open properly from notification and you have to literally close the whole down app of opened from notification to review again. App was fine prior to update. They added some rusty bells and musty whistles and now it doesn’t work. Very annoying considering the cost of system.

RUN from this company Guardian!!!
Worst service, connection (must re-set continually, cheapest cameras (2004 technology at best)I will be holding the home warranty company and Guardian liable/responsible for the crappy se. I’ve given them every opportunity to make a right and they refuse. I already have an attorney working on taking legal action against Guardian, after giving them multiple opportunities to make it right. Sad!

Camera has never worked
I am very disappointed with this app. Someone will ring my doorbell and the app will not tell me for minutes to hours later. I never can see who is at my door as it is too delayed and won’t connect quickly. It never saves the video so I can check later. If you want them to fix it you have to pay for them to come out. Not worth it!

Piece of junk app
This app crashes, freezes and does not connect to my cameras more often than it connects. What a waste of extra money to pay for something that doesn’t work. The answer from Guardian is to simply uninstall the app and reinstall. I’ve done this 3rd now over the past several months. Ridiculous!

Update isn’t functional on Apple Watch!
I’ve always considered this a 5 Star app — until this update. Now when I open the app on my Apple Watch all I see is a blank screen so I can’t use it at all! Wish there way a way to get the old version back as it worked just fine. But for now, I’d give it no stars if I could because that’s exactly how much functionality it has on Apple Watch.

Avoid at all costs!
Guardian issued an update that made my less than 2 year old Vintage security installed cameras obsolete! Took 4 customer service calls to get a straight answer and the bottom line is I’m locked in a 5 year contract and will have to pay several hundred dollars for their “New” cameras to be installed that are compatible with the firmware update.
