Great app and closet; meh customer service/operations
I love love love the concept and I always find something worthwhile and fun to closet and/or buy. I think the value for cost is great, and the app is easy and intuitive. Their customer service is mediocre - if you email, they’re responsive. But they’re not proactive about reaching out with updates, changes, and leave you to do a lot of guess work. I think they need to invest in customer experience and operations l to accelerate when boxes are sent (this wasn’t as much of a bottleneck when I joined, but in past 3 months really feeling delays in sending, processing and shipping garments). 2/3 of my priority items have been sitting there since February.

Generous customer service
I have been with them for about 5 years and even though sometimes I struggle to find a piece of clothing I appreciate their forgiving and generous customer service, so I stay. I have lost items and ruined things during my 5 years and they always let it go (maybe one item every 1 or 2 years). I also don’t always return things in a super timely manner and it is never an issue. I have never been charged for these mistakes. Clothes are almost always in great condition. One reason is because they select items that can handle a lot of laundering, thus not a lot of cotton or delicate items. App works well. I love the honest reviews. Because they have been around longer than many other similar services they have a large collection of used clothes you can buy cheap. I have gotten incredible deals on Gwynnie Bee outlet- my favorite deal was a Johnny Was dress in good condition for $25 (they run about $200). Also, I lost a lot of weight and went from a size 26 to a size 12 (and then back up to a 14). It was wonderful to be able to easily change the sizes in my closet as my weight changed. I wish they had more casual items now that we are in quarantine but I can’t imagine leaving after all these years. I doubt I could find another service I trusted as much as I trust Gwynnie Bee.

A Closet Upgrade!
I never worry about having the right outfit anymore. I used to hate shopping so would end up with clothes that did not suit me. Being plus size 24 / 3x I have totally loved Gwyennie Bee. I tried several other at home try on subscriptions. This was the one for me! I hope they don’t change their service for plus size because I have loved the style they have brought to my life! I now have brands I like and “go to” items that I know will look good on me. This is something that takes time and feels like I have my own stylist bringing me things to my home! I sometime feel a little guilty but then I realize I have saved a lot of money too. The items that are on sale are very low, sometimes $5 or $10 for nice high cost brands. Because I know they will fit if they are my brand, I can get an extra pair of jeans, for $10, instead of $90 and they will look great! I will stay with this service because of the confidence it has brought to my life. I no longer worry (ever!) how I look. I have become used to being complimented on my clothes and how I look in them because I feel GOOD!

They’ve maxed out their service
I loved Gwynnie Bee a year ago, but I think they’ve grown to a point where prioritizing your closet doesn’t matter much and even with 38 items in my closet (the minimum for my subscription is 6), they were still not able to find 2 garments out of 38 to ship in a timely manner. I’ve had things that were poorly laundered, and an item in the last month with 2 holes and a rip in it. Service recovery is good, but I don’t think it makes up for the lost time on your subscription. They leave things hanging out in my closet that they know are no longer available in my size, they are just spread too thin over too large a customer base and it’s no longer a very good service. I don’t want to be forced to closet things I have no interest in wearing because it is more convenient to them. It’s an expensive subscription and for the money, you should be able to get things that you actually want to wear. The app works well although the shopping feature does bring you back to the starting point of the search every time you get done looking at an item’s details. I won’t be with Gwynnie Bee much longer.

Update: Reviews Fixed
Finally, the reviews have been fixed and are no longer cut off when a picture is included. The app is 4 stars- they have made significant improvements and I like being able to notify the company that I’m sending an item and scan the barcode. I also like the different clothing categories (work dresses, casual, 9-5 etc.) and ability to filter by brand, type of item, etc. 4, not 5 stars because: Procesing time is still a little slower than when I first joined and sometimes the items are hit or miss quality. Thankfully I have started to figure out which brands I can count on so I don’t hesitate to add those to my closet. With the expansion to straight sizes, im curious if plus offerings will suffer. Mainly will I see an item I’d like to closet only to see that my size isn’t offered? Hopefully not but I’ll keep an open mind for now.

Pretty darn good to me!
I have thoroughly appreciated this service. I started using it online and found the app later. The app itself is super efficient and well structured- easy to navigate and easy to manage my account- just as much as when I use it online. The thing about the service itself (not the app) that is a bummer sometimes is, as many reviewers wrote, establishing a list of priorities doesn’t seem to matter oftentimes when items are sent out. I have a large list to choose from and it will sometimes be weeks that go by before I receive an item out of that list. Otherwise I haven’t ever received a dirty or ripped garment, they arrive in a super timely manner and one time when I didn’t receive my item in timely manner they gave me an additional garment for a month for free. Overall this service is genius. The app is top notch!

Long time lover
It is true as some of the reviews state that sometimes a favorite stays on so long the season changes. The thing is though dad there is a whole new collection that comes out about every three days. I have been with this company since almost the beginning and I love it. I am a teacher and counselor and everyone always loves my clothes and they come in the best condition. The thing to keep in mind is that it is a rental company so nobody needs to be upset if they don’t get what they want because there’s about 20 other things that can replace it. It is fast and efficient. I do wish there was a way to put that a certain type of outfit was needed for a special occasion like a Christmas party night I always have beautiful things to wear.

Rating the app or the subscription?
The app is great. Loads fairly quickly and does what it’s intended to do. As for the categories - they work. Suggestions for improvements: a way to search for specific items or brands. The filter when shopping clearances items is limited to one size. I’d like to pick a range of sizes. As for the subscriptions: turn-around is significantly slower than it was a couple years ago. Also, concerned that many sizes are not available though they are listed to closet. Why is it shown to closet if a full spectrum of sizes is not available. These items need to move to the “purchase” area. GB can use some improvements to stay the best clothing subscription around.

I LOVE GB!
I’ve been a customer for a little over 5 years now and I have had a fantastic experience since day 1. The first box I ever got was disappointing and I emailed the team and let them know the issues. They sent a new box, extended my free trial by a week and were extremely apologetic. Service has been top notch ever since, and I rave about this to everyone I know. It’s one of the small joys of my life to get a GB box and it makes me so happy. I am a huge proponent of when you look good you feel good, and for me GB has helped me to look good and feel better often. Thank you GB!! 💕

I wish I had read the reviews
I signed up for this service based solely on the recommendation of one of their spokeswomen. I downloaded the app, submitted my credit card information and browsed the clothes in my size (16 and XL). I really didn’t see any styles I loved and wanted to try; so, I can’t review the actual clothing. However, I want to say the cancellation was not as difficult as some reviewers have claimed. I realize many of those complaints were older reviews and the company has probably responded to their reviews by making the process easier. However, I had no problem with cancelling my subscription within the app.

Shattered Dreams
The trial period was great. As soon as I said I was returning something, they shipped another. The clothes I received were almost always from my priority list first and every thing was of a new to like new quality. Fast forward to my first paid month. Shipping is suddenly much slower, I have received zero priority items, and I have had to send items back without wearing them because they looked like thrift store rejects. I am currently waiting until the first week of June to cancel. They don’t let you cancel and have it effective on your next bill date...but there is no proration or refund for a partial month. It’s a marketing ploy, hoping people forget to cancel and then when they get charged just letting it go for another month and so on. That and their policy of being able to add or change service online but forcing you to call in to an agent to cancel. Don’t worry GB. I have ten reminders set to call your retention agent...I mean customer service agent 🙄...and cancel this sham well before my next charge date! Take my advice...don’t waste your paycheck on this after the trial period.

No reviews on app
The app only shows maybe 2-3 reviews for each item when the website shows far more. Also, items just won’t show up on the app, but will show as available on the desktop version. Beyond issues with the app, the clothes have gotten steadily more matronly and it takes me forever to find anything that is even just ok enough to want to rent. So many dresses are giving off a “high school chorus concert” kind of vibe (one odd color, modest, polyester, midi, fit and flare dress). It’s a struggle to find anything remotely interesting or of decent quality.

Inconsistent
Very inconsistent with the pricing of items. There was an item I rented and it was under $40 for a few days and I decided to buy it, but then the price jumped to almost $70. The dress had been worn already by quite a few people, it really isn’t worth paying that much for a garment that’s full retail value was around $100. I could easily get that garment elsewhere for a discount where im not paying around $70 a month for 2 items out at a time. This is definitely one of the more expensive clothing rental services and I don’t think it’s worth it.

Needs Faster Shipping
I love the service but the processing time is just too slow. It takes 3-4 days minimum for them to ship something new after I log a return, longer if there is a weekend. They need major push in operations.

Odor in underarm of dress
I am in my free trial period. In my first shipment, nothing looked worth wearing so I sent them back immediately. The items looked totally different live than in the pictures. In my second shipment, the dress I got had a foul odor in the underarms as if the last person that wore it forgot to wear deodorant and it was not cleaned correctly when they returned it. This is a very bad first impression and I will not continue with this subscription. I only gave it two stars because customer service is pleasant and the whole general idea of being able to “rent” clothes is cool.

Works great for me!
I have been using the service for almost two years. I like 90% of what I get. I purchase some favorites but I send most of it back b/c I can’t wait to get new stuff in. It keeps my wardrobe fresh and makes me feel better about my large size. I closet many things often and I’ve had great luck. I highly recommend the service.

Non-sensical System
If you have several garments out, then send them back but 1 (because you forgot it), they will CONTINUALLY bill your card (you know ... the one with the paperless statement that is on auto-payment at your bank) with NO END DATE. I never expected that I needed to double-check on this, but the charges never stop!! So the total you’re paying BLOWS past the cost of the piece MANY times over. I can’t be the first person this has happened to. I don’t understand why there’s nothing in place to end billing after a purchase price has been met

Essential in my life
I get a compliment nearly everyday from strangers and friends about how great my clothes are. They’re in season, in style and fit perfectly. This gives me confidence at work and in my personal life. Beyond all that GB is easy. My laundry time is limited to towels, bras and panties which gave me back Saturday mornings to work out! I could not live without Gwynnie Bee.

Don’t recommend
The app is ok, but the service is quite poor. I have been trying to make it work for about a year now and plan to end the service. I agree with the folks who say they just don’t send the clothing you pick and want... priorities don’t matter and you have to keep the closet a certain size... so I end up mostly with clothes that I just send right back and never wear. The clothes are pretty low quality (although occasionally you will get a gem - buy it!) and the service in getting the next batch is quite slow.

I LOVE this app! I’ve used a few other subscription services but haven’t had the best experiences. This app lets you shop tons of options! I’ve bought 3 great dresses so far and I am always so excited to get my next box. Absolutely can’t write enough wonderful things about this app.

7 ideas to improve a great site
I love this service but a few areas of improvement. 1) The search feature should bring you back to the starting point after you look at an items details. 2) When choosing the items in Gwynnie Bee Shop you should be able to read the reviews. 3) There should be an alert when items are going to be retired from your closet to the shop. 4) Please bring back new subscriptions to people in the U.S. territories and possessions. 5) Sell the shoes the models wear. 6) Is there a way to rent shoes? 7) Can the shop sell swimwear? This service has changed my life for the better. Keep up the great work!

Million dollar look
I'm a professional who works in an office and thanks to this app I go to work looking like a million bucks. The outfits are great and the designers are names that I never knew serviced plus sizes. It's like having an endless walk in closet. Been a member 4 years and I have no complaints.

App and website are trash…..
I’ve tried for over 2 weeks to update my billing info just so that I can be charged. I’ve used the app and a browser on my phone .. and nothing works. Ive even tried my desktop and iPad. Again, nothing works. Wasting time, and I leave for a trip in 7 days.. and this is why I downloaded it to begin with.

App glitches! Please fix
I have an iPhone and I noticed that this app will consistently glitch and shut down. It happens at various points throughout use. There is also a very long wait time between notifying the company of a return and receiving a replacement item. The companies customer base may be too large for appropriate service.

Love it, works for me!
I simply love Gwynnie Bee. I’ve been a member for over a year now. I’ve lost three dress sizes since I first joined. It has been wonderful not to have to buy all new cloths. I’m now spoil with now having to wear the same dress twice. This is one of the best decision I’ve ever made.

Won’t let you cancel!!!
Gwynnie bee is horrible!!!!! They will not let you cancel and make it so difficult to attempt to do so by requiring you to call and then they say you never returned your last item and try to send you to collections for that item and the months that you have not used the service. They are dishonesq and horrible to work with, I will be posting everywhere to talk about it.

Glitch with “My Closet” in app
Overall pleased with the app. I’ve been with the subscription service since 2015. Just recently, I have not been able to see the “My Closet” tab in my app. I click on it and the app shuts down. Please fix! The only way I can access is via the website.

Pretentious
This app is unmwelcoming and pretentious. They only want the fashionista. The first question: which of these designers best fits your size and body type? There is no option to get help or view examples. There was only one designer I knew and only by name. I deleted the app. It made me uncomfortable from the first screen. To the developers: did you ever consider the woman just trying to get some nice clothing for the first time in her life?

Hello, I signed up for this “free” trial. (which wasn’t free) ok, I understand. Then I chose clothing to put in the closet that I liked and I thought would be perfect for me. I received 3 shipments. All shipments contained clothing I would never wear. Must less choose. I cancelled today as I have now been scammed out of $150 for clothing I did not wear, did not like and did not choose. Do not sign up for this service.

Formatting issues
Clothing reviews are cut off by pictures. This has been a problem for a long time and still hasn’t been fixed. The most recent update has a bug, so I can’t even see the shipping number or track my incoming package. Not too impressed.

DON’T SIGN UP!!!
I signed up a free trial, and they charged me 75 dollars, despite at the checkout saying it would be 0 dollars, and a disclaimer at the bottom saying I wouldn’t get charged until after the free trial is over. I triple checked this, as I only had 80 dollars in my account at the time, and didn’t want to get charged. DON’T USE THIS SERVICE, and DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!!

Won't open unless on wifi
It's very frustrating since a couple updates ago I can't use the app unless I'm on wifi. Completely irritating and not helpful!! I have to go to website and work on closer from there. Also, reviews are cut off.

iphone only, horrible interface
There were only a handful of brands to compare my sizing too. You have to enter payment information to use the app. The initial set up is buggy. I enter my name and there is a big purple get started button that does nothing. I thing the password field is overlaid on top of the button!

Great Service and good app but can't cancel subscription easily!
I love Gwynnie Bee as a service and the app is pretty good. I'd hoped when I saw the shipping barcode scanner in the latest update that they'd also improved and made it easier to cancel one's subscription or put it on hold, but NOPE! Warning...it's not easy to cancel this service once you subscribe. The only way to cancel is by phoning them. That's really bad business and some people have had issues with erroneous charges when trying to cancel. They really need to make it easy to cancel one's membership just like every other subscription service does. One should be able to cancel through the app or via Apple ID. Because of that and the fact they raised their prices, I can only give them 3 stars.

Cut off
The reviews are cut off in the app. Any reviews with photos are not legible in the upper half. Also, the search function is not very good. This would be a five star app otherwise.

Used to LOVE GB
This was a great app / service but now they mostly feature clothes for work (business attire) vs casual or lounge wear. Giving the service one more month and then I’m going to cancel. Please update your looks GB!!

Good but needs tweaks!
I'm really glad this app exists now! So much easier to use GB on the go. I only have three little problems so far: 1. Browsing dresses is awkward and confusing with all the swiping and collections and stuff. 2. The scrolling down is a little wonky and clumsy. 3. My biggest complaint: I'm only 21, my eyes are good, and even for me the text is TINY. Like, REALLY TINY. I work on my phone, not an iPad or anything, and I feel like this app was designed with bigger screens in mind. I have to squint to see anything!

Convenient, but a few issues
I love this app for convenience, but there are some problems. For some reasons longer reviewed often get cut off and there's no way to finish reading them. Also, it's not super intuitive. But it's more convenient than choosing items online, so that's handy!

Pretty but buggy
The interface is pleasant and the photos are good. It doesn't match up cleanly with your account setting. Especially the reviewing structure. When I tried to write a review it didn't let me alter my sizing info and used the name on my account rather than the display name. The buttons to get into the account settings don't work. The reviews don't include data on the reviewers, like what you can see on the website. Will stick to opening it in my web browser for now

My closet
After the new update with the addition of the beta version of recently returns where you can purchase, it seems the app is having issues loading my closet. I can't see what clothes have I there or what is on its way. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Love the clean design
I found that it was easy to navigate and loved all the pictures. Other apps just throw a picture of the clothing up but it was nice to see the outfits on other people. Defs recommend.

Currently when something is in the closet, that item must be deleted and added back with a different size. Can we add the ability to resize from the closet without having to remove and re-add items?
