I believe the previous games for the DS handheld consoles sold for $12, and were no were close to how bad SoM is. The game constantly reloads, the grass seeds are more expensive than the animal feed (I still don’t get that part), you can’t make your own seeds from your own crop, no green houses, very VERY small selection of recipes, and everyone looks like Olive Oil from Popeye. On top of everyone looking wonky, their private stories are poorly written. I’ve been a HM fan since Back to Nature on the PS, I guess a few things I do like is its available on my phone, there’s no in game pay, it’s not FarmVille, and the crop mutation which has me sucked in. So if you’re looking for the best, and I mean the BEST HM experience, I recommend Harvest Moon DS(boy protagonist)/Cute (girl protagonist) with the combination of Back to Nature from the Game Boy Advanced.
I started playing this game about a week ago and loved it. I think it's a great app version format wise. I think a lot of people put too high of an expectation for it to be a replica of the console games but that's not what it is and I think the developers to great designing according to the convenience of an app and it is so fun with all the same features of the console versions in app form. The sad part for me is that not all of the glitches have been fixed and I really hope they are soon because I love the app version and want to continue playing but will have to delete it if I can't play it. I've read other people experiencing different types of glitches as well but for me I am stuck on the loading glitch which won't allow me to get past fall 23 year 1. I go to sleep but it just stays on the black screen with the circle spinning in the middle. I tried saving then sleeping, waiting until 5:00am in the game when the harvest sprite forces you to go to sleep, and exiting all apps and rebooting my phone as CeeCee has told others online but still nothing. Please fix this Natsume I love your games and want to keep playing.
I’ve been in love with the Harvest Moon games since I was a kid and honestly, this is seriously disappointing. What’s the point in having to switch to farming mode just to pull weeds and then back into talking mode to pick up my chickens? It’s not like I’m planning on using my hammer on my chickens or talking to the weeds. I also would like to point out that I gained 4,075 gold pieces from selling my harvest, and when I saved and went back into the game later on, I only had 2,045 gold pieces. Maybe a toggle button in the bottom corner is easier for moving your character than whatever is being used now because I am constantly getting stuck. WHY DONT THE HARVEST SPRITES DO ANYTHING????????????????? I was already upset that there were only three but now I’m upset because my character constantly faints from over exhaustion because there is so much to do and not enough energy. I’m seriously so upset I paid $4.99 for this app when Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was free and absolutely a better reboot than this app. Please please please, I’m begging you. Fix this.
This game makes me really sad, because it has so much potential to be just as amazing as all the other console games. This is NOT under any circumstances as robust as any of the console games. Including the N64 and GBA versions, which is the worst. Here are some questions I have encountered: Do the harvest sprites even do anything? Do certain bachelors help out around the farm? Why can't I upgrade my tools past gold? And why can't I propose to the male witch even with the blue feather at 5 hearts? My character is exhausted trying to farm all that land, besides the fact that it’s impossible time wise to do so. Also, there's no way to make seeds or flour or make more recipes yet, some of the ingredients for sale for food don't even make anything. And SUDDENLY we have these fancy new animals with new recipes, but they havent updated anything else. Oh, btw the cotton sheep wool can’t make a crib. Did they test this?
This game could be so awesome with some additional features. Make it a little more difficult, I got bored in about 3 days because I practically had everything done! Add a couple more people and maybe a couple more options for keeping track of your inventory! Or some more missions that don't complete themselves. This game doesn't have to be so simple. You have a brand with TONS of loyal customers and supporters who would pay anything for a harvest moon game that actually felt a little more real. Nobody would be upset to have an overhaul like that and I know you guys are capable. I appreciate that this is not an app filled with in app purchases though, I just think it could have more depth.
I like this because it’s more like the n64 version I grew up with, but the story line is a lacking, there’s a lot of untapped potential for being a phone game that they could add new features to but don’t. I think a hose and sprinkler system should totally be added to the game and they should bring in the concept of the spouse doing chores like collecting eggs or feeding the animals from storage or whatever. They should add a bigger barn expansion and more animal variants. Also the dog and horse racing from n64 was so fun but it’s not a thing here. Seriously, I wish more creative attention was given to this game because the crop mutation aspect is so fun other things could be like that too.
I have no complaints but am having issues dont want to request a refund yet cuz might be a glitch i saved an went to sleep an then shut down the app when i re opened the app i went an gave one of my cows the baby potion then proceeded to go an go to sleep now it wont make it pass that day an when i try to go in the barn it freezes ill start a new game but if this happens again i well be requesting a refund
Honestly, this is a mobile game, so expect it to fit for your screen. I have been a harvest moon fan forever. My first harvest moon game was with GameCube, another wonderful life. That was MY life. I got a Nintendo switch, light of hope, and even though it’s a short story, still LOVE it but I share it with my boyfriend so I decided to download the mobile version despite the reviews. Honestly, it’s adorable, it’s on MY phone. It gives my boyfriend the chance to play his games and I still love it. A die heart Harvest Moon player will love any HM, so I give this a 5 stars. Nothing will ever beat another wonderful life, but it’s just as good.
I really really love this game because it reminds me of when I was a kid and would play harvest moon on my DS, and while I feel as though there was a lot more that could be done with this app, I do enjoy playing and have spent every free second of my day playing it since I downloaded it. What would make it more fun? More variety! Also I feel upset because I have this massive farm with a ton of land but I can’t receive any help from the harvest sprites like I could in the other game?!? What’s the use in befriending them then? I think if you could do an update where the harvest sprites could help care for the farm that would be great. Also I love my husband but lol it’s so boring having one. It’s not even like I can uphold a random convo with a villager so that’s odd. Also the fact that I can’t build more coops or barns is extremely frustrating. Anyways, so those are my main two complaints: help from harvest sprites and bigger coops and barns...
First, I just want to say that I lovveee Harvest Moon and was over the moon when I saw they had a Seeds of Memory on IOS. I've been playing diligently, but have now reached an impasse. I can't get past Year 1 Fall 29. No matter what I do, go into the barn, chicken coop, visit the town, etc; the game runs for a minute or so and then the screen goes green with the words Assert Screen (screenshot attached). I have tried to restart my device, but that does not help. To troubleshoot, I joined the Natsume online community and posted a forum topic. Was directed to email their support department, wrote them twice (no response) and finally called them. I was told that the issue wasn't large enough to warrant the company researching or resolving it. Awesome.
I was really excited to play this. I love harvest moon! But ten dollars was a bit much, but I thought it'd be worth it, even though seeds of memories and sky tree village were the same game but you slapped a different title onto it. The game got boring way too quickly, and I hated how the characters had no picture of the person you talk to. The only thing I found amusement in was pushing people, and that became more fun than the actual game. I feel somewhat cheated, and ended up deleting it because I needed space and decided to delete all of my unwanted junk on my iPod. I'm disappointed, and I really don't recommend this game.
I was hesitant to buy this game after reading the many reviews about glitches and other issues. However, I decided to take a chance anyway because I love the Harvest Moon games. I’m glad I took the risk! The game has worked almost perfectly for me. I’m on year 2 and I haven’t had any issues that I can think of. I have mainly played the game on my iPad, so maybe that’s why it has worked so well? Anyway, 10/10 would recommend!
I have been following HSM since the first DS version. I love it, but I do think it could use a little change. Like the story line I had to google how that worked since it was explained so little. Also would like more customization to your character. Other than those little things. Definitely love it. When I don't have any of my devices this is perfect. It's actually so similar to the actual games. Compared to the skytree. This is better. Don't really like the layout of the game on the DS.
I downloaded this game about a week before a flight. Super fun & nostalgic from the old GBA days. I travel frequently so I open this app up a lot and get a lot of value out of it. I’m not a gamer by any means or a hardcore harvest moon fan but this game is super fun and def scratches that itch to play a harvest moon title. I think they had a lot of potential with this game but that can all be fixed with updates. :) I’d say give it a shot but don’t read toooo many of these negative reviews. Just enjoy the game. Cheers
This is a fun and enjoyable game for anyone new or used to harvest moon it doesn’t have all the bells and whistle‘s but it has just enough to keep you playing I play for 21 hours before I eventually move on so well worth the money I spent it works effortlessly on my iPhone eight with no issues so for those of you having to issues maybe switch to Apple
I love harvest moon with a passion been playing since gamecube was released… but i dont understand why you all didnt add a level saving factor on the mines… it makes the mining less desirable if i have to start from the first level everytime… i prefer how you did it in harvest moon light of hope where you can start from level 11 or so forth! It would be awesome if you could update this one small factor on this one!
This game is fun, but if you want to keep playing, never take the bobcat home. I've had to start two different times due to this glitch. The day you earn "bobcat's happiness", the cat disappears once inside your house, and the next day will never load. I'm tired of putting time and energy into a game when I ultimately can't progress forward. (I've emailed the development team about this glitch). If you want to continue and play this game, never befriend the bobcat. If you want to win this game, you've reached an impossibility, as the bobcat achievement is needed to win.

I have been waiting for years just waiting for any harvest moon version to be released on handhelds but now you made it on mobile. I do appreciate Natsume. It’s almost like the console games they make of harvest moon which I was really really excited about but for some reason it’s having trouble saving my game and I just spent all day at the mine an was able to get a little more then 20,000 and so I had a little more then 79,000 that I was saving it upgrade my house :( is there any way you can give me back my 20,000 please!!!!
My game died at Spring 17. I think it might be tied to hatching a candy egg--not sure. I wasted 5 hours of game play, which is small compared to some other reviewers. How can Natsume have a fatal bug for months and months and not release a fix? This is not a small company. If the game worked, I'd give it three stars. The artwork is awful. Some of the UI like the collection menu and the recipe menu is infuriatingly bad. I like the touchscreen farming tools, but pretty much everything else is uninspiring or annoying. It gets points for having a Harvest Moon feel, but that's about it.
I have been a huge Harvest Moon fan since back to nature came out in 99. I was super excited for a version to come out for the iPhone!! I see everyone complaining about the game here, but speaking as a very long time playing This game, I couldn’t be happier! Definitely worth the money! Thank you for finally putting my favorite game on the phone!!!
I've been playing Harvest Moon since the original on snes. It's one of my favorite game series. So far for a mobile game this exceeds my expectations. The only thing I would add at this point would be character portraits. Not having portraits of the characters while talking to them really takes away from the immersion of the game. Put this in and you have a winner.
Pros : It bring child hood back with fundamentals of harvest moon, i like how the pricing goes for selling food and produces. Super Interface friendly using smartphones. Cons : Lacks alot other basic features, Such as upgrading your coop is not an option, no sickle to harvest your crops faster, Small town map, no pier for fishing but has rivers to fish on. so far i can't upgrade my stamina as well. Hope this helps guys! I hope they add these features in the future. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.
Awesome game, very similar to the console game but not the same. Many of he features are similar and it’s easy to play. I have yet to have any glitches and -Being a huge fan of harvest moon games- it was worth every penny! I would suggest some minor sprucing up and features to make it more fun but all in all it’s a great game.
this game is awesome! it really gives me harvest moon friends of mineral town vibes which was my favorite game as a kid!!! :) not completely worth 10 dollars, but i do find myself playing every morning by the way, if you find yourself stuck on a black screen make sure all your background apps are closed & restart your phone i haven't ran into any bugs YET.
I originally LOVED this game. I have loved Harvest Moon since I was a little kid. Obviously I was quite excited to find this game. I have invested over 28 hours of my freaking life playing this game... AND NOW IT WONT LOAD PAST FALL 25!?!?! Oh HEEEEELLL NO. I bought my big house. Got married. Just bought the larger barn, etc... well unless this gets fixed (and I mean by like yesterday) I will NEVER pick up this game again. DO NOT BUY IT. YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT.
This game will not let me play past summer 19- when I go to sleep a black loading screen appears and that's it. I've tried restarting multiple times only to have the same glitch or a new one appear (e.g. Trees don't grow back after chopping). I contacted Natsume for help but only ever received one email asking me for more detail- when I sent more detail no one responded to me. Very disappointed as I've loved Harvest Moon for over a decade and was very excited to have an iPhone version to play. ☹️
I've heard of the glitch where the game won't load, and to fix that problem, just always have at least one backup file. Other than that, it is awesome for a mobile game! So much better than many of them! Thanks Natsume!
I love LOVE the harvest moon games! Could spend days playing and still want more. I was so excited that there was a game for iPhone! I was having so much fun playing the game and then the glitches started. I can't get past year 1 fall 23... I have tried to contact Natsume several times and no reply. This game would have 5 ⭐️ from me if I could only play it!

Not sure how apple allows this app to continue to be sold on the App Store. This game doesn’t load past the Fall season, don’t believe me? Google it. I was loving the game, and then bam - it happened to me too. The company that makes this game is not trying to fix any of the bugs, they seem to be SUPER UNRESPONSIVE on all forums that I have read, it’s just so sad that I spent this money. Be a responsible company and fix this game, don’t just keep selling it if it doesn’t work 😡
I've played Harvest Moon for years, it's not exactly like the other ones, but they're all a little different. It's a fun game, it met my expectations, I put 45 hours in before I beat it and I still had some side activities I haven't done.

Despite being from a different developer than most of the HM games, I decided to give this one a try. Honestly feel I wasted $5. For one, the loading is ridiculous. You can't go 1 minute into the game without encountering 5 loading times! The HM/SoS we know and love was changed a lot when Natsume developed it instead of just translated it. The already kiddie idea is way more kiddie now and it just feels like they didn't try to make a game with polish or appeal to older players.
I'm going for year 7 and I still don't get married or have children. I've already done everything and now it's boring and monotonous. There's nothing new to do. Would you like to know what year I got married?
Cute game but once you start to really progress it crashes with no way of continuing and/or moving forward. Don’t waste your money or valuable time. I’m elated that I paid through Apple Pay…it ensures me of a full refund. However…It saddens me to think that whom ever (scammers) is behind the scenes of selling this app is taking advantage of so many people with most being children.
Love Harvest Moon & was happy to download this to my iPhone but it’s been so disappointing. I’ve had the app for 2 weeks and I can’t make it pass year one without it crashing. The screen turns black after you “sleep” and won’t reboot. I’ve started over 4 times now and the game has crashed each time. I never make it to see my child born 😔. I’d like a refund of my $10! This a disappointing waste of time. Don’t buy. Don’t download it.
I've been playing this game for more than two weeks and I'm loving it but I'm getting to a certain point where I've done everything I can to the game There needs to be more added like some concepts from other Harvest Moon games or try new ideas
There is so much to do i probably haven’t discovered everything I love it I would love the house upgrade from 1 to 2 to be less expensive but other than that it’s really good
The game is amazing and I see no issues in it other than leaving out a few events that are in the DS game. The real issue is that I got it on my iPad and have lots of progress. I just got a phone and want to transfer the data, but I don't know how to.
Haven't run into any problems or glitches yet. I play this game every day. It's addicting. I feel like I'm playing the traditional tv video game version. Now if you can just get Luke's Bar to serve drinks I'd be all set.
Theres a loading screen glich that just appeared out of nowhere i have an i ohone 8plus so this game shouldnt have any issues running on my device. There needs to be an update considering I’ve seen others have the same problem. I cant continue in my game anymore until its fixed and its very frustrating.

I was always a big fan of Animal Crossing and The Sims so I decided to try this! It is so much fun! Casual or hardcore play :) now I usually spend a "day" or two in the game for a day or two in real life. Awesomeness! :)

Love this game! However.. some updates would great... Harvest sprites helping in the farm? New crops? A larger coop and barn ect.. house even.. since you can have kids.
This app has been amazing 🙌 Brought back. my most favorite child good game back. The only down fall is how much it cost to upgrade to the biggest house possible Other than that I love this game

I can't get past year 1 summer day 5. I'm on an iPad Pro and it just "thinks" on a black screen and doesn't proceed to the next day. Also my bobcat vanished, but it's food dish never worked anyway. Update: downloaded the update, still locked on the summer day 5 and can't move past it. VERY DISSPPOINTED!
