I love that I can deposit checks anytime I want and they show up immediately. The access to that money then seems to be immediate also. This is a great convenience. Unfortunately the mobile site is still closed over the weekend. transactions neither go out or come in. This trivial inconvenience, partially the responsibility of the other party probably, does not take away from the great conveniences of knowing exactly what your money is doing at all times. I agree with one other reviewer. For credit, the balance should not be what more is available to borrow. The balance is what is still owed. At the top it shows next payment due date but doesn’t show how much the payment is or what the real balance is. Using your logic, my vehicle loan balance should show $0! I can get used to the new format but the balance on credit needs to be fixed. One additional point: I share accounts with my children where I can use the app to transfer money to their accounts. The old app showed the nicknames on the accounts. The new app only shows the account numbers which is a pain since i can’t tell them apart without looking them up. It’s only a matter of time until I transfer money to the wrong account.
I like the new app a lot. I also think that it’s an improvement over the previous app, however there is one thing that I would like addressed- When transferring money to a loan or credit card, please have the amount due listed in the payment dialogue box. Otherwise the app user has to remember the exact amount. Personally I like the new ability to modify the transaction type (travel, student loans, description) etc. These new features are AWESOME!
The Honda site is the best online banking site I have used. Easy to navigate, clear, and every transaction you need to make is right at your fingertips. This site is hands down more user friendly than any other banking sites that I have used. The budgeting section helps you easily label and quickly identifying your expenses. You can also see all your accounts as soon as you open the app. Thank you Honda Federal Credit Union.
Overall the app is ok, however when you transfer funds from an account to make a credit card payment it doesn’t show you the total balance due on the transfer screen so you have to memorize the value down to the penny on your credit card(s) then go into funds transfer, type in what you remembered and hope it’s right so you don’t get hit with interest on a transaction that you could have been off on by a dollar. When the app was first updated I was assured this was being addressed…….it’s been two years.
I love the app, but I’ve been trying and trying to link bank accounts to no success. I get logged in with the other banks credentials but when I select an option to verify, it never sends and email or text to the chosen option. Or, it tells me login failed. I know the information is correct because I use that other account daily. When attempting to link it with the other account I’m told the account is registered as inactive because my Honda account has been flagged as a threat. Not sure why all of this is happening, but it should be looked into.
Never works as advertised. Down all the time for maintenance. No surprise. I think our payroll system is totally broken and will never be right. Everyone is owed money that they’ll neither see. Bring back ADP!! The bar is set extremely low for anything that is bank and or payroll related at Honda. And the funny part is there’s no one to take your concerns to because no one cares. Very worrying sad times indeed for HAM & EGA associates. I know this message is falling upon death ears so I will just stop there. Please stop wasting our time with these pointless reviews that no one ever reads. Chase Bank is so far, above and beyond this joke you call HFCU. Have a great day.
The Honda FCU app has the most options and ease of use of any banking app that I have, and I have plenty. Nothing is hidden and they have regular updates to provide more useful tools or better security. I especially like their easy to use mobile deposit feature. Others seem to have problems with the graphics or make me take multiple pics and retry over and over again. This app is the best.
Can’t see when or how much is due on my credit card! Could care less how much available I have to spend! Balance owed is my only concern an have to jump through hoops to see total amount owed! Old app was simple, user friendly, to the point and much easier to view with larger font! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star in my opinion! Have no need for any of the added features an makes it incredibly difficult having to navigate around the app to get to what I do need! Not to be overdramatic here but seriously makes me want to leave the credit union an transfer my money back to my old bank and will probably do so if this horrible app doesn’t get fixed soon!
As a credit union/banking institution HFCU is outstanding. Amazing customer service and a welcoming feeling when you walk in. The app however leaves a lot to be desired. When opening the app for the first time I thought I had been teleported back to 2012 and was trying to figure out how to use a touchscreen. The app is just awful. It’s clunky, slow, not intuitive, and visually boring. There are several functionalities I assumed were a given in any banking app by now, but using this one has shown me how wrong I am. I will continue to use this app because I am thrilled with the institution as a whole, however I will not try to convince anyone the app is even just ok, because it’s not.
Great app with many positive features. Only one criticism and one wish. The alerts on spending when set up need to be more real time, I should be able to set it up to receive a text every time any transaction happens in real time. My chase app does that and it’s awesome. The wish is to have the ability to send money through Zelle. I hear it is being tested, and I hope it comes very soon.
The app is very easy to understand. Easy to navigate through the selection of banking options. The easiest of all my bank apps. The only drawback is takes time (10 minutes or more) to update balances when you move money around. But if I log off and back in then I see the updates. Otherwise I love this app.
Can no longer see the balance on credit cards in the payment screen. The send date for bill pay is incorrect. Has you select the desired delivery date, but then the transaction scheduled has the chosen date as the send date, whereas the website does this correctly. Edit: the developer obviously does not care despite the comments left on reviews. My exact two complaints are echoed in reviews going back two years with the developer responding with the usual “we’re looking into it.” Translation- “we don’t care, go away.”
I like the fact you can transfer money through different accounts ex. Savings-checking-bill account etc. I just wish I could deposit money from a non Honda Federal account such as my chase account via my debit for when I need to add more and not have to go to the bank physically to do so. It would just be so much more convenient... Still, not a bad banking app though!
This is the least user friendly banking app I’ve ever used. You cannot link accounts from other banks to transfer money through the app. It will let you link them just to see transaction history, which is absolutely pointless. I would rather use a well made, user friendly app from the other bank to see my transactions. The only point of linking them would be to transfer money between them which you cannot do. The only use for this entire app is being able to deposit checks which no one even uses anymore.
A while back I shared some feedback on missing features here. Today I got an email letting me know improvements were made. The credit card payment experience is vastly improved. This app, with this upgrade, makes it easy to manage money and accounts. Thanks, Developers!
The app is good enough for me to use since it’s a secondary bank account that I don’t use often. Wish it was easier to find account information and toggle between things. But it runs well and you can transfer money between accounts well enough. Wish the features were more updated.
I LOVE my credit union!! Wouldn’t change anything! Everybody is friendly and so knowledgeable, yet do not make me feel bad because of all the questions I ask. All are so helpful with any questions/ problems I may have. Using the web page is also easy and very helpful. Would recommend HFCU to anyone lucky enough to be a member.
The old app did everything it needed to. The fonts are now ridiculously small. I have to go to a minimum of three screens to see my credit card balance. Who cares what their available balance is other than people with a spending problem? Why can’t it display both like the old one? Even when you go to pay it, it won’t display the pay off amount. The only positive I can find is that changing your address is better than the previous janky process, but how often do you do that? Please go back to the drawing board.
They tried to put everything that you can do in the browser based system, into the mobile app. The result is a consistent experience, but at the expense of ease-of-use for the mobile app. Eventually I will find the 6 or so tasks that I do in the app, and will ignore the rest. Trying to be everything to everyone has produced a mobile app that, in my opinion, is difficult for all.
What this institution could do for their customers.
If I could give a zero rating I would. Interface between app and customer service is abysmal. “Maintenance” outages and constant back and forth between credit union sources of “information” leaves the customer without a sense of inclusion. The point of a credit union is to ensure a sense of “family.” When referring to my money this credit union and app does no such thing. Do better. The point is to make us feel included and part of the “family” when have we lost this!?
I wish in the transfer funds page it would show you the balance of the accounts you are moving money between. Like pulling from checking “available balance” to pay off credit card “amount on card”
I paid two bills and it asked what day to pay them on so I chose the first available option which was the 4th (today is the 2nd). When it came up at the end it is actually paying out on the 8th. This is much worse than before as it’s almost a week later. Also it doesn’t give confirmation numbers that I could see and I accidentally touched the amount box of a bill I wasn’t paying and the only way to move forward was to back out and start over again. Hoping these are bugs that will be fixed.
When last update came came out I had to always change password because it would not stay in system they it had something to do with IOS but once bugs were fixed it’s been great
I like having information at my fingertips. Get frustrated a little when updates / changes are made as I have to relearn things. BUT - adding new features and me trying them have worked. Added Zell and linked to other banks for loan awareness.
In all the years I have had my checking and savings accounts with Honda Credit Union, I have never had a problem. I am grateful for the assistance you have provided whenever I have had a question or problem. Thank you very much for your continued support.
I wanted to make an electronic payment. After searching all over the app, I could not find an option to wire the money. Finally I found an option that I could use. I set up the invoice information as a bill. I entered the amount that I wanted to pay, the account number, etc. And then it tells me that it can mail a check on Monday. This is not 1988! Give me an option to make an electronic payment.
Come on HFCU, I can’t see how much I owe on my credit card. I also don’t care how much more I can spend. It’s a banking app that I have to do mental math to derermine how much I owe? Many other people commented on this. Please fix it. Why even update the app? All you’ve given me is more hassle. Nothing else gained. So tiring honestly. Where is pay also? HFCU is so behind on everything. It’s hard to stay honesty. I’ve moved to a new bank and am close to closing my account here. Anyway, please fix the app so there’s some reason to stay.
Works great only thing that could be improved is accesss to the bank account and routing number should be easily accessible under info for when you are out and about and you can quickly pull it up
Continual incremental improvements to their mobile banking app which prompted me to write this review. The “Pay Loan/credit card” option under Money Movement was a welcome addition. Looking forward to more improvements. Thanks for everything you do, Honda FCU!
Works well and I like seeing my accounts and moving money easily. Also bill pay is very convenient and free. I would like to be able to see the names of those account owners that I am moving money to so I won’t choose the wrong one. Also the image capture on the deposit is not automatic so it’s not as easy as it could be.
I really like how easy it is to use the Honda banking app. My only takeaway from the app is it looks dated. The app appearance needs and update, which also includes when you’re in the app. The textures seem blurred. Especially on logos and others. Other than this I love the app.
While it is convenient to have an app available, this “update” required me to download a new one instead of it overwriting the previous version. It also asked me to change password, re-register everything which was not convenient. The old one was working perfectly fine and a bit more visually intuitive. Just sharing my initial experience.
My wife and I have most of our business with Honda FCU, and your digital banking app makes it easy to stay in touch and gather information quickly! Once we get a P to P solution, we’re set! Keep moving forward…!
Honda FCU is so limited. The online system is not user friendly nor are there enough options to perform standard banking transactions. Also, the system is always being worked on and is unavailable. Luckily the customer service center and reps are fast and helpful. We get to speak to a live person from the USA!
HFCU app makes life easier. You can go in and check your account, make payments, and transfer money with ease. Such an easy way to track your spending and keep up on your transactions.
The last Honda app was much more user-friendly. I have a hard time setting up the budgeting option for my checking account to budget where my money is going. I also do not like that when I make a credit card payment it doesn’t show the payoff or the payment amount. I have to go to my statement to get this information which is cumbersome.
Love this app & love this bank!!!!! Super friendly service and super user friendly app!!!! Love the way you feel like a person when you go in the branch……not just “another customer “.
Love the updated HFCU app. Such an improvement. Only thing I would like to see is the options to communicate with customer service support via the app. Still have to call the branch to address any questions regardless of how significant.
Have to do to many things to view all of the information I want to see compared to how the old version you could log in on the website where it showed everything on one single screen. It’s made things a lot more difficult for me and I absolutely hate it. Can we at least have the option to log in the normal way again? I want the old version back. Way too complicated now and confusing. ☹️
I love the simplicity, flexibility & ease of use of the current HFCU website it has allowed me to continue using the credit union as my primary financial instructor even though I have moved two & a half hours away.
The previous app was very straight forward, easy to navigate and easy to use. I don’t understand the need to redesign something that was user friendly, into something that looks jumbled and cluttered. I see no benefit from the redesign but inconvenience instead. What’s up with the mix of tiny and giant fonts and lots of blank white spaces? Had to give 1 star because Zero stars was not an option.
I have mobile banking apps from Bank if America, Chase and HFCU and the others are easier to use and better organized. Open accounts at other banks and see for yourself
Old app was straight and to the point this app just adds annoyances. For example, old app would tell me EXACTLY what was owed and when on my credit card this new app just shows me my pending total, not what is actually due when. The old app was color coded much better and had larger font this new app with smaller font and with little colors causes everything to be blended together. Other little things, it’s annoying trying to transfer funds between one account to the other and not being able to see how much is in either account at the time of transfer, the account name and account number take up so much room in the selection box that the total of money in your account is off screen and you can’t see it.
The one area for improvement is the bill pay function. I can not get it to send a payment on the next business day. There is a delay of at least three days or more.
Wish it required a confirmation before transferring funds.
The app works well for the most part. My only complaint is when you transfer funds it doesn’t ask you to confirm, it just transfers as soon as you press ok.
