Great app be sure to do initial set up before hand
I had a hard time with the app at first cause my generator was already running and I could not get it to connect. You need to connect the app to the generator within the first 30 seconds after starting the gen. Mine was already started and I could not shut it down as I was using it to power a kiln for jewelry casting and shutting down was not an option. But once the casting was finished and I shut down and restarted generator it connected with ease and seems after that initial set up it connects anytime to the generator even when I open app well past the initial 30 seaconds after start up. So while initially frustrated I am now very happy. Just be sure to do the first setup ASAP so you will be good anytime after that. Only thing that would be nice is if the app could let you know how much gas is left in tank. I did not see where I can monitor that but boy would it be nice if it did mostly if you are in a situation like me an worried that the Honda might run out of gas in the middle of when you don’t want it to 👍
I had trouble connecting the bluetooth for my brand new EU2200i. I reached out to Honda and they were very helpful with troubleshooting the issue. At first when I followed the steps, I would get an unknown generator appearing within the 30 secs pairing window, it asks you to repair again, what you need to do is turn off the generator and then start it up again then proceed with pairing the unknown generator. This restarts the 30 sec clock and you’ll be able to pair successfully within the app.
Once you set it up, it automatically connects with your phone as long as the phone is in range. The maintenance features work. They can be annoying, but they work. 100 hours for oil life? My car oil has a 6,000 mile life. My semi-truck has an oil life of 50,000. The point being, the maintenance reminders are preset, unadjustable, and can be annoying. The rpm display is very useful. It allows you to measure the usage of devices as you turn them off and on; track battery charging, etc. The Bluetooth option to turn the generator off from a distance is extremely useful! But, why in the name of all that is holy isn’t there a timer???? I use this on my semi-truck to reduce idling. It can charge my 4 large truck batteries in 2-4 hours. It easily keeps up with hotel drains: fridge, lights, diesel bunk heater. It does not power the microwave (kind of annoying). I think the problem there is that the generator senses the load and ramps up the rpm(s) until it redlines, then cuts off. It should just go to max rpm(s) and hold. My trucks battery bank, my inverter, and my microwave set at 70% should work (it has worked in previous applications). But, the generator just revs up and cuts back. Very good. Not perfect.
This app is really good. All the info you need for the EU3200i, including a fuel gauge! Except one odd thing: if you change the gauge from “VA” to “amps” the highest number on the gauge is 13. When you draw 12 amps or more the number turns yellow indicating you’re approaching a threshold of some sort. The number turns red if you reach 15. Those colors don’t align with the generators’ ratings. The EU3200i is rated at 21.6 and a maximum of 26.7. The “VA” gauge is accurate at 3200 maximum. It’s annoying that the “amps” gauge doesn’t reflect the actual ratings for the EU3200i. Love the app otherwise!
We recently upgraded from two EU2000’s to the single EU7000 and though it may be pricey, it is a VERY nice generator and well worth it! Using the APP to power on/off, view the maintenance schedule and monitor power works perfect! The only other thing I think would be nice on the App side of things would be to be able to set a generator on/off time or atleast a turn off timer.
After months of using the app, when I needed it most it randomly decided to not boot up (the app). The generator was fine, bluetooth was fine and connected (I am a computer engineer), and my phone was fine. Toggled bluetooth (both soft and hard toggle), rebooted phone, cleared running appa. Updated the app. Nothing worked. Figured I would reinstall the app. AND IT FORGOT ALL MY DATA!!! IN A SERIOUS SITUATION, IT FORCED ME TO GO THROUGH THE LONG ARDUOUS PROCESS OF RE-pairing, and which for me meant uninstalling the generator from it's location in the middle of the night and rain. Clearly you have a serious long-lived bug somewhere that could leave you stranded without connection to your generator.
I’ve owned the EU3200i for about a month and a half. This is the second time starting it. The first time I started it the app worked great!. When I started it this time the meter will not work. I can change it from volts to amps and amps to volts and it changes but the needle on the meter never moves. I see it has been updated since I last used it. BTW the generator is nice.
This little bastard can power the ac unit on a trailer and a microwave at the same time , I love the my generator app it keeps track of all important maintenance intervals for you , completely takes away all guess work , just when I realized I have one of the best generators on the market , Honda real eases the best app for a generator on the market , match made in heaven I’d say
I have an EM 6500 and an EM 5000. The app works great, except that it frequently won’t show power output (still shows running, auto throttle on, etc, so it is connected). It seems to stop showing the usage if I switch between gens or if I use a different app and come back to Honda. I have tried closing the app and restarting, but it does the same thing: shows on/auto throttle status, but nothing in the usage “dial”.
I use my generators for camping and hunting I purchased the companion generator also to parallel the 2 together I have a camper and have no issues with power in the summer when running a/c along with other items with/in the camper as well in winter I absolutely love the app it helps keep myself on a good maintenance program and monitor watt usage
Since the latest update, I can’t connect via Bluetooth therefore I can’t get the hours for the units I would uninstall, but that will delete hundreds of profiles for the generators that I work on could you please release an update that will work again?
This gen set starts every time, no problems after 2 years of use! Ease of movement using the handles! Honda engineered! Great as always! All maintenance is a breeze, again Honda engineered! Would not own anything else! Also have an EU2000 that I have had for 20 years, still runs great, again ease of maintenance!
I have two EU7000 generators and I run them for our mobile business. My newest one is a little over a year old and has 2800 hrs and is running well. My first one was brand new in 2019 and has almost 7,000 hours and still runs incredible.
One of the best generators I’ve ever owned nice and quiet light and gets the job done right this app is been amazing thank you so much wish I could find a companion to go with it. so if there’s anyway you can make that happen I would love to purchase the companion EU 2200to go with this I would be happy 😃
Hey all, first I want to say that the app works great with both of my Eu2200i’s the one thing that would make this even better is if it supported landscape mode. Not a big deal for single generator use. However when you have two running with the parallel cable it wold be great if the app would show both load gages for each generator on one screen. Thank you
Only thing I would change is I wish I could start the generator from the app even after 1/2 hr dead time. Having to go turn the key back feels like it defeats part of the convenience. Otherwise great addition to the Honda generator.
Love it! Tells me what I need to know about my generator amp load, maintenance schedule plus running hours. Paired an older eu2200i companion with a new2200i, and now I have a tool to help me synchronize maintenance. All Honda needs to do now, is provide a conversion kit for the older small models.
I was having trouble pairing 2nd EU2200I and read a lot on Honda’s web site and forums to no avail but after reading Money Maker 2 review below I was able to pair second unit just fine following his system. Thanks for your input!
I have two Honda generators. Very nice but I cannot get the app to scan nor can I manually put in the serial numbers making the app effectively obsolete. Is anybody out there that could help me figure out why this app does not work for me? I have ran into the same problem over a couple of years, deleted the app, just put it back on and I'm still having the same problems. I have an iPhone Pro Max 14.
I almost did not download the app because of the negative reviews, however I had zero issues setting up the app. It has a wealth of good information and functionality.
I cannot get the App to connect to my Generator no matter what I try. I’ve watched every Video available. I asked everyone I know….. nothing. I’ve called Support…… nothing……. Very frustrating…… very disappointing!
It is so nice when I’m falling asleep in my camper to not have to get up and go outside to shut it off. I only wish I could start it in the same manner.
I have 2200 companion so can’t use all of app but like the fact I can turn off generator without going outside. Also like hour meter and maintenance reminder features, overall satisfied.
First off, the newest Honda EU 7000 is AMAZING! The app makes it that much better. You get all the necessary information about the generator in your dry home. All I need to do is put the key in the ignition and put it in the start position.
Little pricey but, worth every dollar. Still have not put it to real emergency situation but based on other owners reviews I feel very confident this gen will come through. Thanks Honda Team!!!
Seriously, it’s divine. This could only have happened under the direction of God, Himself. I especially love seeing the current being drawn as I fire up appliances like A/C, microwave, eBike chargers, water pump, etc. it’s incredible
This EM6500SX generator is the easiest unit I have to operate. It runs my entire 3200sf shop not including the water heater. Great piece of equipment and I love the remote start with my phone in lieu of having to go out in the rain to start it!
The app was easy to pair on iPhone 12. Using it with EU2200i. App is very helpful in monitoring and managing power in my RV. I would like to see some additional functionality: Calculated Fuel Consumption, Tachometer, Timed Shutdown.
We’ve had Honda Generators for YEARS both here in the US and overseas but have never had an app! It’s like like having a personal assistant for starting & stopping and for a maintenance routine! Love it!
The generator has excellent performance and features. This is a sophisticated machine. The app has some great features like visual display of the load. BUT the blue tooth connection quits randomly. Less than 20’ from the generator and the app disconnects. Any help from Honda app dev would be greatly appreciated?
EU 3200 i Although Honda and the dealer found a workable solution, I don’t think keeping tank halfway full when transporting, then if it doesn’t start. Turn to off the pull on start rope 4 times, wait 30 40 seconds and try again is how a “PORTABLE” generator should work.
Parallel units , app assumes only generator working.
I connected my 2 x 2200i units in parallel (only my companion unit has Bluetooth) I wanted to configure my app so that I could see the power of the combined generators. It seems the app assumes only generator working. Is there a fix for this?
Best ever. No regrets on buying this generator. Another hurricane and at peace with this generator. 3 years old and starts from my phone or button press. First time every time. Loren Southwest Louisiana.
EU 2200i Generator. App is connected to my generator, but it’s not showing any RPMs. It worked when I first paired it a few months ago but displays “0” now. Thinking it might be an iOS Bluetooth issue.
Super quiet Super good. Honda is really above all generators! Can’t compare it! Expensive but worth it. Long lasting too counting you do the maintenance! Nice app. No guessing on amount of hours. Amount of amps using!
I have the 2200i and it’s “companion” for an output of 30 blissful amps! Works perfectly with my toy hauler! Totally smokes the piece of &$@$ Onan that the toy hauler came with. I’m yanking it out and putting this pair in it’s place!
EU2200i . App Worked fine when I bought generatora month ago. I lost power today and cannot get app to sync to phone to save my life. I’ve tried restarting it turning phone off deleting and reinstalling the app. Ugh
The app works ok to start and stop the generator, but even being 25 foot away on the other side of a wood wall and it will not work to start or stop it. It also says in the App Store that you can control the eco-throttle. It does not control the eco-throttle.

Very impressive generator for a 2200 watt it runs our concrete vibration tool and charges our 20 volt batteries for our hand tools with no problem whatsoever.
I have tried everything to get this app to work with my new Honda 2200i. I have tried multiple times and will not connect to the app. I have followed the directions perfectly. I start the generator and attempt to pair by phone with the device within the 30 sec time frame.
App worked fine at first, now it displays all the features except the engine RPM. Dealer says it’s too new an item to know the fix, can’t get an answer. Guess I will try to delete and reinstall.
