Hoop Land

I really enjoy this as, unlike many other sports games, it is a very good recreation of the rules and way the game is played, along with the administration that goes along with it. One thing i would like to see (that will prolly come with the my player update) would be the players being actual people. Right now the happyness thing is not in play at all. I think it would be fun to see players get fined or get into scandals and stuff like that. This could all also effect your other players performances and your fan support which would add another element when deciding to keep or trade/cut a player. Maybe they aren’t the best but the other option is not very popular or is currently in a scandal. Idk i think it would be fun

As a super fan of HLT, the wait for HL seemed like forever but was well worth it. The attention and effort paid to the minutia of little physics details makes for a game that surpasses what one would reasonably expect for an 8-bit basketball game. Having read other reviews, I must say that I’ve been fortunate enough to not encounter any of the bugs others claim to experience. There are some aspects of the franchise mode that are still missing, but I’m either aware or just placing my well deserved faith in Koality’s further development of the game to add them down the line. We know trades will be added soon, which is pretty much requisite for a full fledged league mode. Absolutely NEED and hope for the addition of a simple HOF line in HLT if not something statistically more elaborate. A big specific for me with switching my legacy league over to HL would be the transfer and inclusion of our HOF from HL, which would include individual accomplishments already on the resume of current and soon to be retiring players. For example, I have a player from my legacy league soon to retire, but on the cusp of setting a new record with his 7th championship. I really hope those sorts of statistical details can be incorporated and not lost. My only complaint really, would be that the CPU offense is very basic quite often with little to no ball movement and no attempt to make obvious passes to open teammates. Otherwise… excellent so far and can’t wait for more!

I really love this game. It is a better version of retro bowl. And I have played it for over 70 hours now and I have a few things that NEED to be changed. There needs to be an easier way to intentionally foul in this game. It is the most frustrating thing ever being down 1 or 2 and theoretically still having a chance but then not being able to foul because the controls are so difficult. There should be a button in the bottom left whenever you would want to foul and all you have to do is click that button. There also needs to be more help in stopping fast breaks since many times someone just runs down the court while the defender is behind them and they have an easy slam. There is also a problem when the opponent(CPU) gets an inbound on there side of the court where they always have a really easy lob to slam. Finally there needs to be a boost for defensive rebounding. Why is the CPU ever grabbing nearly as many offensive boards than the defense.

I would like to start by saying I love this game it’s super fun and I love the depth it has. My first idea add an in season tournament and a black top mode. Blacktop mode would be like the one in 2k. It’s super fun and adding this would make the game even better. My other idea is a little bit of a stretch but I would love it so much if you did this. I think it would be cool if you made like a sports world game. It would work where you could play prizefights, hockey, hoop land, a baseball and football game all on the same platform. This would be awesome. I have heard from a lot of people that they love hoop land so much they think if there was a baseball and football version of it they would love it. Again I know the sports world idea is a bit of a stretch but I definitely think a lot of people would buy premium version of a game like that. Thanks for reading😀

This is genuinely the best bball game out rn and I definitely recommend to all gamers. First game is gonna be hard but after that you should be warmed up enough to turn up the difficulty and beat every team. Speaking of difficulty, I feel like there should be one more difficulty option added to the game. I just dropped 81 points with one player in the 6 minute game length and the AI cant stop my 3’s. Also fix layups somehow cuz im lowkey tired of whiffing them more often than 3’s. If i’m doing layups wrong please respond🤞🏽. Update: Game really fun but i still need that extra difficulty + make it easier on the AI to get passed the half court line because if i wanted to i could just get the ball with an easy 8 second violation everytime and it ruins the experience a little

When on franchise mode and I want to play college mode I press play and it goes to the pro league. That is the only bug that bothers me because I really want to play college mode on franchise btw it’s a really great game but I recommend reading the reviews first. Also another bug about this game is that when I am warming up before a game in shoot around mode when my one of my teammates airball so bad it goes behind the goal it glitches behind there so when it goes behind there my teammate runs in place on the front of the goal trying to get the ball from the back of the goal so while they do that I try to get the ball but I can’t because there is something that blocks me from going behind the goal. Other than that this game is a 5 star

I’m not asking for it be similar to something like 2k but I would be great if players were more involved when playing defense and if a player blocks a shot it should go backwards instead of there being a chance for the shot to go in another thing is there are small amount of bugs such as players doing the same crossover and for it to be slightly more realistic just because a player is hot doesn’t mean they should be able to make any shot(specifically pg) you can easily go at least 10/10 even on all star and vise versa for when a player is cold they should eventually make a shot and not have to be wide open so they can finally make a shot

This game is awesome! I’ve been playing it for almost 4 months and it’s really well made. There is only one thing I keep running into and I don’t know if it’s a problem on my part or a bug. I’m playing with Oklahoma and every single game my coach calls all of our timeouts before the 3rd quarter even gets 1 minute in! It’s super annoying especially in the late game when the score is close and I just don’t have a single timeout, so I’m asking if this is just me or if there’s some way to stop it or if my coach is just not great. But other than that I haven’t ran into any big bugs myself and this is one of my favorite games! Especially with all the new updates you guys keep doing!

This game will definitely go down as one of the best sports mobile game ever made in the future. The potential of this game is high but as of right now the game feels like a beta. If you’re someone that likes basketball you should definitely download and support this game and join the discord community. I would give this game roughly 2-3 more years to be fully completed with koality adding things that will make you enjoy the game more but be patient. Koality is a one man team and it’s incredible that he’s made this game on his own. If you played his old basketball game then you would know this game is an huge upgrade so please support this dev because this game is special.

Big fan of the game, I play quite a bit but there are a couple things that make me upset, one is near constant crashes whenever I simulate. Just about every other sim my game closes me out of it, I’m not sure if that’s just a me problem or if that happens to other people, or maybe it’s caused by my custom leagues. That is a serious problem I run into every single time I sim. Also another is how poorly the simulation allocates minutes, it’s terrible and something I’d like to see improved in future updates. Let me be the first say however the gameplay is great it’s just simulating is currently a nightmare and needs to be improved badly

I absolutely love this game, I’m a huge fan of all koality games especially prizefighters 2 I came here to rate this game 5 stars and to see if could make a small suggestion. Can you please put “playoffs”, “finals” and “play in tournament” on the courts during the playoffs I feel like this would be a small yet fun addition to make the playoffs courts a little more unique then the regular season ones maybe you guys could even make the crowd wear matching colors like in real basketball playoff games but that detail is optional I really just want the lettering on the courts and I honestly feel like this would be a quick and easy addition so please consider .

Huge fan you know how it go one easy quick lil update just add like in hoop league tactics when you start a season players all time scoring stats show, but in hoop land you create the all time scoring list the first game you play or simulate. Maybe add a option for fresh new created stats when you start up a season or give the option if you have the nba roster n wanna see like lebrons 40,000 points and now i can pass that. Ik you get the concept of what im saying by now but yes just a quick update adding that it you could even if it just creates random all time scoring or assist leaders like hoop league tactics thats perfectly fine

I like the game and all but there is 3 problems that I’m facing with this games needs to bring more hype to the crowd when the home team make a bucket and also maybe 🤔 litte more hype for the away team and also you know the brodcast that talks while the game is going? Yea you guys should more talking behind the brodcast instead of it being boring and just playing with music and the crowd doing litte hype and there is one more problem I’m facing with why don’t you guys put fake names and dumb names to the players? Like who would name the player Guy Chug? So could you guys please make the hoop land more like a realistic NBA game thanks 🙏

Locality has made an amazing game once again that is really in depth and is better then something that the likes of EA or 2K would put out there are an endless number of feature that all are really well done I do have 1 suggestion and maybe that’s something like a rivalry meter that would increase the more you play a team in the playoffs or the more teams win championships like how everyone hates the Yankees maybe this would lead to high rivalry games having more fouls a all time score board between the two teams or special news stories when one wins just a suggestion thank you for the amazing game

I know the game is a good game and I’ve been waiting for the season update for a long time. However, the update is very disappointing only because of all the bugs that came with this update. When I get fouled the game just stops working completely and when I restart the game the other team gets ball back without my free throws. There’s also this weird shooting glitch where for one player on the game instead of holding it and letting it go on the green, I have to tap on the green. Free agents and trading is even worse. I can’t even use the player I signed because of the bugs and overall the game needs a lot of tinkering. I still rate it 3 stars because once the bugs are fixed I this game will be a great basketball game.

This genuinely is the best game for basketball and even sports fans who want an NBA 2k type game on their phone. There’s even no ads the only in-app purchase is premium which is the only premium version of a mobile game I have ever even considered getting. This game includes a franchise mode in which you can take control of a team and rebuild from the ground up. My only complaint is that CPU teams usually never lose their star player so usually the best players stay on a team until they retire. But otherwise it is a great game no other game can compete with right now.

this game is exactly what I’ve been looking for in terms of a basketball simulator. if you buy the premium for only $5, you can customize and download user created rosters, including uniforms, arenas, and names of actual NBA teams and players! I’ve started a campaign with the modern OKC Thunder and a fantasy draft with all-time players! you can even simulate full 82-game seasons or play them out on your own! this is a very underrated and secretly massive game that I would recommend to anyone who likes either games like retro bowl, or even games like the Football Manager series, or EA sports games like 2K and Madden.

I am not the one who usually writes reviews on every single game I play, But this game got my attention. This game is SO GOOD! The amount of detail and hard work put in this game is amazing!!! I love how they put all the players and teams and took time to make everything amazing! And each update makes the game better! Adding HOF, Team Rankings, and adding Commissioner mode. And soon they are adding Coaching Staff and front office upgrades and are making a Career mode! (For Premium users like me) I love that they keep adding stuff to this game and their is NO ADS OR MICRO TRANSACTIONS! Keep making this game good Koality.

First off I’d like to say that I love the new 1.0 update and it adds so much more customization and features to an already good game. The only problem is that a lot of bugs come with this update including that when I try to sim a season (82 games) with an imported roster, the game will randomly crash and it gets quite annoying after a few times. The amount of customization in this game is wild, even being able to choose numbers. I immediately bought premium once it came out, overall, this is easily the best basketball game on the App Store.

It keeps crashing everytime I try to play and y’all didn’t fix the bug yet but there is a lot of bugs in your game that needs fixing idk why yall didn’t check for bugs before dropping this update with seasons and all that good stuff but the game is fun to play just the defense needs to get better too cause I think it’s unfair when u play on a higher game difficulty you can move the slightest and they’ll still get a bucket but I love the game and can’t wait for player mode to be introduced and more updates

The game is the perfect pixel basketball game and I love playing it especially at work and love that I can play offline my only complaint is season mode not having trades and I also have a bug where the players I sign don’t end up on my team in free agency so I lose coins and when I create or edit a player they stats or potential doesn’t carry over and also please let us be able to see player rating before we sign or just view on our team other than the game perfect

I dont think i ever imagined finding a game just as perfect for the sport as retro bowl for football. HLT did that. And then Hoop Land changed everything for the better. The same art style, but taking the more "simplified realism" seen in other recent Koliaty projects to the next level. More varible gameplay, teams feel like there are huge diffrences about them, everything in this game just feels....right. Thank you Koliaty. Whether this is the final game we see out of you, or just the beggining of a long legacy to come, keep on trucking!

So like the title says I have a few problems. So yk how you can add logos right well I can only give like 6 or 7 teams logos and then it kicks me out of the game and if I don’t save before hand it’ll be gone even if auto save is on but no other problems other than that but I would like yall make a football one because i honestly think from previous games of yours I’ve played. I’ll play it a lot and keep up whatchu doin I like the retro games yall make a lot

GREAT GAME. You can import your own leagues so it can be like the NBA, NCAA, or WNBA. I also love that you can customize your players and their attributes. The gameplay is smooth and it’s easy to control your players. My only issues are that when I play season mode, whether it’s commissioner or franchise, after the finals it says “the college season is still going on, would you like to simulate the rest?” and when I press yes, it stays on the same simulating screen forever. So I am limited to only one season every time and the game won’t progress any further.

Certain players when you play career mode ask for WAY too much money and it absolutely boggles my mind, a guys is a 3 1/2 star maxed out is asking me for a 4 year 80 million dollar contact, while theres more than 1 team that has 4 5 stars with completely insane contracts with a filled out team that would put me at over the limit of 500M, thats one thing yu need to fix, other than that solid game, its fun to play and put teams together its a solid game its just thats the only thing that made me delete it

Please add minutes up to a real nba game and not just up to 24, along with an option for the real NBA rosters with ratings according to how they are in real life, and i’d also like all star selections, with other awards like first and second team all nba, other than that pretty close to perfect MOST IMPORTANT: PLEASE ADD HOF SOON!! also make a team HOF and a league HOF, i want to choose who belongs in my teams HOF and whose numbers are retired just like real life! thank you! I want this update so bad because my players keep retiring and i can’t see them again… need a team and league HOF!

I played this game for a while and after like 3 days i experienced bugs like i would get a three in the key violation when im half court. Also when i shoot, it will show a green line indicating that the shot was perfect and the shot will go in. When i shoot, sometimes that green line never shows up and i have to guess where it is. Another thing about the game is these calls for fouls... I would block the opponent and it will be a foul. I will slightly touch the ball handler when they shoot, yes thats right, i dont jump, i dont press a single button, i just stand there and its a shooting foul on my player. Honestly just uninstall the game cause its not fun.

After playing the game for a while the gameplay gets kind of boring considering you have the same 6-7 plays on every team.i feel like the game would be way better if you could set up you own unique plays and when they pass or shoot the ball. Sometimes when I run a play the ball handler will shoot the most atrocious shot known to man before people can even get set up for the play. so I would love if you could add a play maker for the game. And also nerf Poland stronk for the love of everything.

This update fixed a lot of things. But now the game freezes during a stoppage in play when specifically before the substitution graphic will come up. This can be fixed by pausing and clicking reply or another option. But another freeze happens when I attempt to sub player out myself. The back arrow button, doesn’t take the screen back. It doesn’t do anything and I am unable to get back to the game

I don’t write a lot of reviews and only to the games I purchase and play in there entirety this game is so great from the gameplay to the depth of the franchise mode. I have also played the ice hocky league game and both are very good and something I’ve been looking for in a sports gm game. I hope maybe one day you guys could make a football and baseball version at this quality would be amazing. Keep up the good work and thank you for the game.

Hi Devs i think you should add a team history button when you try to edit a team’s lineup and all that. When u click it, it pops a 1st button that says win loss record and in there if than has 2 buttons where its their regular season win loss recore, playoff record, and playoff appearances. The next button is their championships and the year of the title and last button is their retired jerseys and Team HOF

I never leave reviews but this is basically the perfect mobile sports game. No ads, no micro-transactions. Also, it’s super fun! I like that I can pay once and support the game but it’s not an obligation. There’s a lot of little details like stats, scouting, trades, the draft. Sure there could be more, but for being a free game and still in the early stages of development, it’s very well done. Highly recommend if you enjoy franchise mode or basketball in general.

This isn’t even an “I’m too good” post but I’ve tried everything, highest difficulty on everything, resetting the players to make a new league, constantly starting with the worst team and you still have to try to lose. The only way I’ve found it enjoyable is simming the first three quarters and then being down and trying to come back. I follow on Twitter and am excited for the updates but please let me lose.

The players are more wide than they are tall, but DEFENSE IS COMPLETELY NON EXISTENT?? The buttons are the same as on offense?!? Obv u can’t pass on defense, so that button is useless and the only thing u can do is jump, switch and some lil poking motion I guess it’s for stealing the ball, but it never works, free throws are RIDICULOUSLY hard and but if u can’t play defense and ur just hoping not to foul and the cpu misses, it’s pointless on that end of the floor and that’s half of the game…the camera needs to be more from the side than hovering over the court bc it’s impossible to read a missed shot

In one of the recent updates it said that jersey numbers would be able to be retired, but so far in my seasons it has not happened. I had a guy in one of my saves who dominated the league and entered the hall of fame yet his number wasn’t retired by the team. I don’t know if this is because i was the commissioner of the league but its just something i realized. I dont know if i have to be the gm to retire numbers or not.

Trades - this should just be in the game anyways College basketball - would be very fun Ability to change settings after you start a season - I started a season and finished it on two minute half’s and I really wish I could go into the settings and expand the time per game Due to the new update loads of bugs have been fixed so thx for that

I absolutely LOVE this game, although I find it annoying that unless you load a custom draft class every year you just get the same players over and over again? Every other league/career simulation game I’ve played has this feature. Again, I LOVE this game and have spent a good amount of time on it. I just wish it’s not the same new players year after year, gets awfully boring seeing the same guys and becomes predictable.

I love hoop land it’s great I play it all the time I love it so much! I do have one request and it has nothing to do with hoop land. I wish you made a football version of hoop land. Everything about hoop land is great the trading the stats the coaching the game play as a whole is just great. Because hoop land is so great it almost ruined retro bowl for me and now I wish you could make a game like hoopland but in a football form. Thanks for reading!

I’ve been playing this game for awhile, and I love it. It’s amazing but there are a few bugs. When you try to import a league with a link it doesn’t work. Sometimes when you’re playing a game, leave the app, and if it restarts, when you go back into that game, you can’t pass the ball unless you call a timeout or go out of bounds. Other than that the game is great and I haven’t stopped playing it!

Great game, everything is perfect except for injuries. Problem is that players get injured so much. Every season as a franchise owner Anthony edwards fractures his skull and is out for 40 games, even happens twice in a season sometimes. Very unrealistic and frustrating when you have such a good team however 3/5 starters are all injured majority of the season. Game is great otherwise but the injures happen so much and should be toned down alot.

First off, the gameplay is good and I have lots of fun when playing the good, but there are some things that don't make sense. For one example, you can't change difficulty or the quarter length when already making your save. It should be something that could be changed mid-season without having to make a new save. I hope in the future, sooner than later, that the problem will be fixed because it makes the game feel really limited.

I like the game, but this new update has changed the shooting I believe. I say that it has changed because previously the green bar when shooting would change depending on player and shot selection, but due to the new update the bar doesn’t change size, and worst of all even if you are able to get it right in the middle of the green there is no guarantee that you will make the shot. Good game, but I do not like this aspect of it, because it takes away the fun and immersion.

This game is fantastic and I love it but there is one MAJOR thing that needs to be updated. I have big thumbs and it would help a lot if you could let the player change the size of the action buttons and arrange the buttons. Sometimes I miss hitting jump when I can clearly block a shot because i am tapping too high. The buttons are smaller than they should be.

The game is really fun and has some great mechanics to it. What I’ve noticed is that it freezes randomly sometimes and I have to leave and restart the app. It did it in the championship when I was winning so I had to leave, and it gave the win to the losing team costing me the championship. It’s very annoying and frustrating so please fix it. I feel discouraged to play the game because a championship was stolen from me. Would be a five.

I find this game fun and challenging. It takes a bit of practice to get the controls down. The only thing game play wise that really bugs me is the free throw shooting. It’s like almost impossible to make free throws. I’ve attempted about 20 or so and I haven’t been able to make one yet! Not sure if I’m just bad or doing something wrong, but the speed of the ball in the free throw mechanics just moves way too fast. Quite frustrating!

The new update that put coaches and everything in made it to where any type of team I have even if I somehow manage to get all 5 stars thought my whole roster if I sim a season my team will just be the worst in the league over and over even if I well round my team they still come in last place

I love hoops lands but sometimes i get bored of playing it. I would like too see a football game it should be very cool and great because you have all the details and stuff like that. It would look very good. The 2d graphics and visuals would be mind blowing and I think it would be a great game. I believe this company have hope and in the future or soon you guys can make a football game.

Great Game. I love the Hoop League Tactics, the first game that came out. But this one is more realistic and way more fun. The customization is great. With all the hairs you have options from, I wish they had more beards. If the shoes had more editing options that would be great. Please add tattoos to a next update. That would improve the game so much. I play this game the most on my phone. So much fun and exciting.

This game is a great rendering of what 2k would be if it was in pixel form. I love this game and I am addicted to it, so great job Koality Game. But, one request. How about you add a myplayer / type mode where you control one player, and you get to be like a star on the come up where you can have a agent, make deals, and rise to the top. Just a little food for thought, as I personally would love to see it. Great game fellas, and keep it up!

The game is amazing, I really do love it, but there is one thing. If the AI was down 3 with 5 seconds left, they don’t shoot threes unless they can’t get in the paint, instead they’ll shoot twos and ultimately lose the game. They also tend to pass up wide open threes for contested layups. The only thing I want to be different is the AI to understand the situation that they’re in and be smarter about it.
