Hopeless: The Dark Caves

Only issue I’ve come across is everytime I watch a video to continue after I’ve gone down , the ad takes too long and I end up dying . Even if the ad is short , I still end up dying instead of continuing. I used to play this years ago ….

I’ve played hopeless for years now. With a new phone and my progress deleted, I took a break for a while. When I came back to the app store to download this game again, I was greeted my some sort of cash grab. This game used to be amazing. Since when was this game a single button and in vertical mode? It used to be where you stand in the center and shoot wherever you tapped, defeating actually scary monsters, and when buddies came they gave you more firepower. There used to be only 5 or so guns and upgrades that really helped the gameplay. There were instances of actual suicide from being too scared within the game, which really moved me as a player, but now you just lose the game when you shoot a buddy. I won’t be playing this version of the game, and I’m sure that many other people will agree. The 1.0 versions were much better, and I hope they will come back, even if it has to be a new app called “Hopeless Classic” or something like that. I hope this petty cash grab of an app that looks like it was made by Voodoo or Ketchapp was worth losing your best game and one of the greatest games on the AppStore.

I remember playing when I was in middle school, I would have so much fun. Now it’s just sad. The old version was honestly amazing, you got to chose where u shot and u didn’t always have ONE LIFE, if you shot another blob, your blob would start to lost sanity until it could no longer fight, now you shot a blob and you die. You don’t to chose where you shoot anymore, a blob is literally running at you while a demon is right behind it, u cant shot the demon because your cross hair is fixed on the blob. You have to wait till the blob gets to you until you can shoot the demon. You have to be ready to just tab the button to shoot the demon, 20x more difficult and doesn’t give 2nd chance if you make one accident, and a lot less fun. we need it back how it used to be.

The original version was much better. I haven't played in awhile and redownload to try it out again but was very disappointed in the update mechanics. The blobs not joining your group when you save them, the vertical orientation, the lack of free aim, the lack of different blobs that join your party, etc all just kill the game without them. Not sure what the reason for the update was because it looks like nobody likes it. *FYI* for anybody who had the previous version, if you look through the apps you've previously downloaded (in "purchased") you can find the old version of hopeless and it still works. They seemed to have taken it off the normal app store though, and this app is a different version from the ground up

The older version was so much better. Who would make a shooter game without the option to aim. The older version was fun because you could aim and the satisfaction of having allies to help you whenever they came was great. It was almost like a test of reflexes and now it’s a lame and restricted shooter game for children that can’t handle the pressure. I loved it whenever the light expanded when teammates joined you in endless mode. I loved it when there was the suffocating atmosphere of not knowing who or what was going to run of of the darkness. There used to be an actual feeling of hopelessness in this game but now...you turned it into a cheesy shooter game for wimps. Whoever’s idea it was for this update, I hope your ideas aren’t contagious. Please fix what used to be a great game and time killer ☝️😐

What happened to the version where you tapped to kill the monsters like tap where they are not just the bottom of the screen. I remember that the last time I played granted it was awhile ago but I’m pretty positive it was this version of the game. I truly miss it and I tried the space one and it’s just like what I remember but not quite the same since it’s a different setting and such. Super fun game definitely one of my favorite along with the rest of the series. Just wondering if that changed at some point.

Everything about the old version was way better than right now in the old version you were able to shoot wherever you saw them coming from and whenever you had a friend with you the light would get bigger the friends that joined you would help and shoot them not like right now where they come to you for points and if you shoot them you die before you shot them your character would start to get pale and if you shot to many friends that character would kill itself please bring back the old version it was so much better please

As most people may know, this game USED to be about controlling 1 or more "blobs" while they attempt to survive multiple scenarios. The fun came from the tension building and fear of losing the game, this would lead to the player having an itchy trigger finger. When fending off hordes of monsters the player would instinctively shoot their fellow blobs. Blobs who kill too many other blobs will commit suicide. This was a lot of fun. Now however the game has so little difficulty and dark themes that it is just another mobile game. However, I would not rate zero stars if I could because it is at least playable.

You guys really messed up a decent game, I miss being able to tap anywhere on the screen not the stupid button on the bottom of the screen to kill the monsters and if I accidentally kill a blob then I lose that’s dumb, take it back to the “kill circle” where blobs get together to make a group and you can shoot in any direction and if you kill a blob then oh well, it ain’t game over. Take it back to when it was the good Hopeless.

The older version was better when u had to tap the monster they would did and if u kill blobs u wouldn’t die like in the new version when u kill them u just die and the game crashes for no reason and alway has to refresh the game multiple times before playing bring back older version and fix crashes

Blobs in the older version of hopeless would join your team and now there just there for a small amount of coins or just screw you over

I played this a year or so ago. It was a really great game, with tons of mechanics and I could even play with friends. Nowadays there is just one shoot button with no option to choose where. And the monsters are pink. Maybe if you could make a separate version that was the original, that would be great. The old version gave more suspense, and there were goals, and the little blobs you saved actually HELPED you. Thanks if you are reading this.

I love this game! It’s amazing and a great game to play if you stressed out but the only thing that’s the problem unlike in hopeless 2 the guns are the same strength and please fix the boss where it’s slow like the other big guys and it takes two shots to kill him sorry I forgot his name but I CANT GET PAST HIM ITS IMPOSSIBLE!!!

I re-download this game after many years because I remember it being so fun from my childhood but sadly I find it is has been completely changed from the original game. Before is was a survival game where you gather yellow people and shoot away monsters until eventually the monsters eat all the survivors but now you can’t aim and it’s a level system that makes it seem more like a rip off game.

I miss the original version, it feels like you put much more work into that version than this one, I liked that you could get more blobs to help you out and that you put a lot of effort into the graphics and everything just looked so much better. I liked that you could get the blobs to drop in so you could play for longer and just loved all of the mechanics. No it’s kind of garbage, I can’t play it anymore when I knew how good it was before.

I love the game but can you please bring back the original animation and where you could get multiple blobs. I liked the old version better and was hoping y’all could bring the old version back.

I miss the version where when you saved your friends they would join in fighting the monsters instead of just disappearing

The mechanics they changed of what it used to be has made this game no longer fun to play. I don’t know why they are these changes but one tap games like these are not fun. This is worth about 15 minutes of minimal fun while the previous mechanics and gameplay was worth hours of fun. I hope they see the reviews and change it back to its former glory.

I will legit pay for the older version , if this was new it probably be ok but compared to the older one this is trash in the nicest way possible but I was so happy when I remembered about this game and found it and than it was completely changed, really disappointed was really looking forward to this old game

Like I remember playing this game where you can shoot wherever you want and you have buddies that come and give you more firepower and like bro I like the old version then this crappy new one so plz creators of the game plz add a mode called classic where we can play the kid way how it use to be like always because to be honest removing that classic mode ruined this game

So i used to play this game a while ago. In that version you had to tap ON the monsters to shoot them and you could eventually have a whole squad of little blobs helping you out to shoot the monsters. Now its a simple tap tap tap on one button to shoot and the old version was SOOO much better. Please fix this game

I saw this game when It popped up as an add and i thought oh that looks fun so I decided to get it and I was right it’s super fun and the main character is adorable 100% recommend And it’s completely appropriate

Currently the game is incompatible with IOS 12 and therefore is unplayable due to excessive crashing. Usually between 30 seconds to two minutes before the game crashes. If you could fix this issue it would be greatly appreciated

I recalled playing this game years ago and enjoying it greatly and recently found it again, only to find the gameplay and art style has been butchered and it’s been turned into a scheme to milk micro transactions from players. Don’t download it, don’t play it until they fix it.

What happened to the old version when you had to tap on the monsters that were coming out of the darkness and your buddy’s would give you more light if you wouldn’t shot them. TBH I enjoyed the old version when there was like let me guess 4-5 guns in the game. But I’m not that happy with this version of hopeless.

I love this game because you gotta shoot monsters get new guns collet coins get new guns and defeat boss fights and move on to other waves

I hate this new version. You can’t control who the target is and it’s way too easy. Also, there’s no endless mode. Why? That was my favorite part!! Go back to the original please!! Or at least make the original downloadable again. This new version is absolute garbage!!

So, today I downloaded the app and honestly the old version was better. I mean the style is ok I like the new blobs, but now the game is too easy the other version was challenging and I enjoyed it a lot, so I would love it if you guys made it like it used to be.

This game used to be amazing. You could aim where you wanted, and you could have multiple people. Now this game is just another “collect all the stuff” game as you just tap in one spot saving money until you get all the guns. The original game even had replayability after you 100% it.

This game was so fun before it was changed please return the old version so I can in joy it again it would be the best day of my life please change it back like the space one it like that and I’ve played it for 5 years straight it was so fun 😭😭😭👎🏻👍🤩

I don’t know why they changed the game so much since last time I played. The game was perfect and had nothing wrong with it. My guess is the developers wanted their community to download their newer games.

The monsters are close and I kill the blobs on accident and I have to restart the whole thing over again.

I love the graphics of this game. Purchased the add-free pack (2.99), but the impression ad is still there. Very distracting! So ad-free is what? How to completely remove the stupid ads??

I can’t make it past the first level because the other blobs so if a monster is close to you you have to wait for the blob to get to you

Worst idea to make it where if you shoot your buddy you die, just kills the flow of the entire game tbh. And I like the vertical change but it should have been the same Controls as the old hopeless games to where you can free aim vertically.

I like the game and I remember playing a little bit ago. But now I can’t decide where to shoot, if you could remake the original on a separate app or something.

I think the new system of the game is so much worse. Like most older games there are a ton of ads and such and I’m fine with that because it’s life, but not along with a worse game.

What is this knock-off? The original game was one of the best IOS games I’ve ever played. This feels like when your parents got that off-brand cereal because it was cheaper.

My game keeps crashing you know how to fix it

Animations constantly freeze for no reason, and after paying 3 dollars for no ads, I continually got several pop-up videos and banners.
