Not really consumer grade. Hard to find things. Clunky (e.g., takes way too many steps just to delete a recording, and way too easy to delete a future recording when trying to delete one you’ve already watched). Still better than the terrible on-TV interface, though, so I used it. But since my phone upgraded to iOS 14.8, the Hotwire Fision app won’t run at all. It tries to load, and gets to the main screen, then closes half a second later. App went from weak to broken.
No, I'm not even talking about supporting Apple Pay. I'm talking about the inability to even use the credit card details from a card in my Apple wallet to pay the bill in the app. When you tap on the screen where the credit card field should be, the Apple wallet just doesn't come up. A task achieved by hundreds of thousands of one-person Indie developers, worldwide, in hundreds of thousands of apps in the App Store today. I know it's not a problem with my phone. We are living more than 20 years into the 21st-century and this app doesn't support this. Hey Hotwire, do better.
The new update is missing the myFision ability to review delete and record programming which makes the app essentially worthless. Addendum: developer responded very quickly and advised logging out of my account then logging in. It worked like a charm, thank you. 5 stars now!
What is it with cable companies that they can’t ever do anything right? The fact that one has to do a double back flip with a twist just to reach the remote control is an absolute joke. Is there never anyone with half a brain working for a cable company? Incompetence seems to run in their DNA.
None of my mobile devices work anymore after my HOA made the brilliant decision to switch away from Xfinity. No channels, no mobile app to stream channels to other devices. Completely useless, like I stepped back 10 years in technology
I recorded several programs but can’t watch them on my Fire Tablet or IPhone! There is an option to delete the recording but NO play or watch button. Ridiculous
The app was updated but the TV remote feature was removed for some reason. Please add it back. It is extremely convenient to control the TV from the app.
FIND IS SO SMALL CAN’T BE READ. YET THERE’S PLENTY OF ROOM ON THE PAGE TO MAKE NORMAL SIZE. PS: even with excellent eyesight it can't be read or expanded
Downloaded and installed the app on my iPadPro...all worked. Opened the app and tried to login with my Hotwire credentials. Got a message saying this was for residential use only and another chance to login. What? Mine IS a residential account. Not happy.
I have not been able to save any credit card or debit card credentials on my iPhone X max after paying my bill as there is a message saying not able to save credentials. Is this an on going problem that’s known or is it specific to my phone which I don’t think ii is. Exactly what is the situation with this?
Good start to a new app, however. The quality assurance team missed in the security wording, there are some misspelled words. Also on the remote controls section, there’s no volume control or mute tab. I know with all the different TV’s, the app remote can’t do everything.
Thanks for bringing this app to your already incredible cable and internet service! It has really simplified my access to support and customer service.

Our HOA made the brilliant idea to switch from Xfinity to Fision. Worst decision ever. Can’t watch on your mobile devices anymore. The Fision app recently stopped working to where The app doesn’t even start up anymore. But then again, the selection of channels on mobile were awful anyway. Very limited channels, especially on FisionGo. Very unhappy.
Was working well since downloading app. All of a sudden it just closes on/by itself. Contacted support and they tried a few things to no avail. 🤷🏼♂️Oh well, maybe it will heal itself? LOL
Everytime I try to use the app, I’m informed that I must update. I click on update, and get bounced to the App Store on my iPad. I get the opportunity to see reviews (and write this one). BUT when I click on “open,” I am again informed that I must update, and the cycle starts all over again. This is idiotic!!!!!!!!
They discontinued FisionGo. The TV Everywhere section of this app just links you to each channels individual streaming app. It’s lazy. Spectrums service at least included apps to watch on devices we already have, like Apple TV’s, straight from the spectrum app.
I downloaded the App to use the remote however after download and pairing, the App refused to refresh. I was unable to use remote. I tried to use the Chat help feature. No one was in the queue and I had an estimated 1 min wait time. After 20 minutes I called tech support and they could not help and told me to check back in a couple days. What? Why? Services are not comparable to companies like Xfinity, yet they cost just as much. Suggestions: 1. Before releasing new products, make sure they work. Know that you are going to have technical problems and have people available that know how to fix the issues. 2. Consumers expect high quality services that include user friendly platforms. I expect services to be somewhat universal regardless of the company however unique. IE when you compare Apple to Android. People have there favorites but both are high quality and functionality is similar. Yes, I am stating you are on the right track but need improvement. I feel like I am playing on a N64 even though there are new game systems out there. I want all the NEW whistles and bells out there. I sure am paying for it. 3. Customer service. Your company excels there. Very friendly. No long wait times. Love it. Just wish they could be technically trained enough to help fix the problem. Sorry for the wordy review, but can’t stand reviews that complain and don’t explain why. I hope improvements come and I will change my review. Thank you.
Trying to use the app it spins to refresh the application and then automatically closes. Making this app go from useful to now can’t even use it. Please fix.
Horrible guide implementation. Stop auto query. Let me pick date or channel before querying. Performance is really bad because I have to wait for your app to perform auto query when I first navigate to the guide. Then because I am not interested in today, I pick the date I am interested in and then query again. Let me control when the query is executed. Please fix this immediately.
I have tried to set up my online account for weeks and no matter how many times I have requested the verification to verify my email and complete my account setup, the code is never sent. I’ve called several times about it and no one could help. One agent offered to send a technician to my house because he didn’t know what to do. It just seems poorly managed.
Poor live chat customer service, but excellent response to problems reported in App Store.
As noted in a couple of problem reports here, after the latest update to the Fision app, the ability to control the dvr by the app disappeared. Customer service couldn’t help. They directed me to some remote mobile instructions that were done a long time ago and had nothing to do with the updated app. However, the developer response to the last two issues reported was exactly what was needed. The live chat customer service team should be made aware of this simple fix to log out and log back in. Thanks!
New version 2.1 no longer gives you the DVR option to record programs using the app. Customer service advises the option is no longer available. Very disappointing.
A very common task today is streaming live video and DVR content on an internet provider’s app. Comcast/Xfinity and others have been doing it for years! I asked about this specifically before our community switched to Hotwire for “better service.” - Short answer - it does not! Video streaming or accessing DVR recordings is not functional in this app. When a Hotwire tech tells me he tells his customers not to even download it, well, I guess that says it all.
Brand new App and is crashing when installing , I was able to download the app but when entered the verification code the app is crashing , delete and reinstall didn’t work ! Garbage !
I was so excited to see that Hotwire finally came up with an App for their TV SERVICES. I thought it would be comparable to Comcast’s App that allowed a user to view the TV Channel Guide and stream live TV by selecting a channel. I also foolishly thought that I would be able to stream programs on my DVR. Nothing could be farther from the true functionality of this App. If you are looking to stream anything, this is not the app for you. Hotwire has a loooong way to go to be comparable to Comcast (that I miss dearly). It’s unfortunate for people that live in gated communities that a subpar alternative is forced on all residents based solely on cost. Quality should be a top priority when making these types of decisions.
