Edited Review: Upped the app rating to 3 stars. Noting that there are more features added since my original comment (which is good), but two annoyances and feature oversights persist. 1) Still no Landscape mode for iPad users. Really annoying. 2) They separate the email and password fields onto separate pages. This is really not convenient for modern users who have autofill enabled through their password managers. I screwed up my email address twice trying to authenticate because I couldn’t remember it. Can suffer through it on Desktop, but to keep that up on mobile isn’t UX friendly at all. ————————- Original Review: Ok for accessing basic account info, but that’s about it. Can’t access my credit report data on the app, and there’s no landscape feature for iPad users. Suggestions - get landscape mode on this app and beef up the features so that it more closely aligns with your website. I use apps so that I don’t have to log into websites for the full and complete user experience. Thank you.
Am I the only one who feels as if I’ve been scammed out of my money? I’ve purchased their basic monthly subscription along with a credit report and immediately after which, the pages fail to load. Seems like a scam to me. Those purchases I feel are all at a loss. The contact number is useless. What’s the app worth if one can’t even contact this “company”!? All I’ve gotten besides a dial tone is a busy tone without so much as an email as an alternate. I’ve been locked out of the login because of my failed attempts and I can’t even get a hold of this company to have it unlocked. What’s more, I only downloaded the app because for anything beyond the login within the browser, the pages wouldn’t load. All I wanted to do was protect my identity due to my recent experience of having my identity stolen and utilized for car loan and home mortgage. I was hoping this company could help me in that regard but now I realize that they probably can’t even help themselves! I hope a dev sees this because it’s been 5 months that I’ve been attempting to gain a semblance of progress with no luck. This company is supposed to be top notch what with the service they provide in the healthcare industry. I’m practically begging for help! Please help!
I signed up for the free trial for a background check for an apartment and when I went to cancel a day after, their website kept giving me an error message. I tried a couple days later, still not working. I called over the weekend and was told that department was unavailable on weekends and someone would get back to me, I never got that call. sent an email via their message form and I got a reply and was told I needed to call their customer service line again. I called today and spent 15 minutes on hold, being bounced from line to line as the hold music kept changing and the automated “someone will be with you shortly” message came on. I’m not sure why it took so long as, with only 450 reviews, there cannot be that many people calling all at once. Once I got to speak to a person, she somehow got my information from just my first and last name then asked for an email to send the cancellation confirmation. I asked to her to stay on the line until I received the confirmation email and she hung up, and what a surprise, I have not received the email confirmation.
I have unfortunately been a victim of this company. As soon as I created an IdentityForce account, I’ve suddenly had about 4 different individuals attempting to open credit cards or loans using my information. It’s quite the coincidence isn’t it? This may have been the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Not only was it a waste, it appears as though the money I spent on creating an account is going to cost me even more in the near future, with all these individuals suddenly having access to my information from god knows where… I am not pointing fingers, but I will say it is quite suspicious that the app couldn’t have alerted me about the multiple credit inquires, $15,000 loan applications, etc., yet the app never fails to alert me that I have pulled a few dollars out of an ATM using my own card…. I did not need to pay $100 just to view my own ATM receipts. If I had to give this app a suggestion, it would be perform better background checks on your employees.
I like having the Identity Force service but am not sure I am getting what I paid for exactly when the app doesn’t work correctly about 1/3 of the time. I get alerts for financial data but when I click to open them the screen just goes white and I end up having to close the app. When I reopen it I get a “server error” and “try again later” message. I’m never actually able to see these alerts on the app, I have to sign into the website. It’s an inconvenience and I expected more from the quality work that I know Identity Force does provide. Hope it improves soon.
Did a College Freshman in Computer Science create this?
For being a top of the line identity theft service, and the amount IF charge you would think they’re app would be top of the line?! But it is not! Grey pages with words. App doesn’t work! I keep having to reset my pin when I login because when I’m asked to enter my pin the app says it’s incorrect. I think I can recall the pin I entered after eight tries?!?! Because of this, I can’t set my VPN. I’m supposed to be getting all these great identity saving services, but I can’t really access them because the app, when I can actually be allowed to access it, doesn’t show all of them to me. Really …REALLY hoping this is updated and fixed or I’ll be going back to Norton.
It’s not at all what I expected. You’ll get a lot more for free with Experian service. Tried to cancel it. It won’t let me do it on this app. Tried logging in on the website, but it didn’t accept the password. Tried resetting it. I know I gave the correct answers but it failed. When I called, they asked for my name and phone number and that somebody will call me after 8 am. I don’t know about others, but I gotta work during normal business hours and I can’t use my phone on the job. This is what I get for falling for another one of those pretty scams out there. Probably will have to go through my bank and report credit card fraud or something just to cancel this useless thing!
Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t great before either, but at least when there was an alert, I could see what bank did the inquiry. With the new app, it alerts me that there is a new inquiry, but I can’t seem to find anywhere the source of the inquiry or whatever the alert is for. Not a very useful alert. Oh, and it includes a loooong url that I suppose you’re supposed to copy by hand with a pencil and paper and then manually type into your browser since the url is not hyperlinked and also cannot be selected and copied. Again not useful. Bring back the old app. At least it was minimally functional.
This app basically just lets me know when a sex offender moves into my area and when I spend money over $300. I get more alerts from the credit bureau monitoring services and credit karma regarding things that actually matter than I ever do from this. I cancelled and went with Experian. I like that it’s now possible to lock all three credit reports with the touch of a button through their respective apps. Experian is the only one that costs money and it’s been so helpful that I don’t even mind. Identifyforce was meh.
This app needs a lot of work on bugs. Especially with the new iOS 14. Not sure if maybe that has something to do with it. When I first installed it I set everything up then every time I tried to open it after that the app crashed. I had to uninstall it then reinstall it. Also, when trying to input my bank accounting information (account #s etc) it said error. Then made me input again. Then after about 3-4 attempts it finally said it was saved yet continued to say error “you need to enter a routing #” smh lol! I don’t know if there is a lag or what. One star do not recommend lots of room for improvement. How my supposed to trust you guys for protecting protecting my eternity if you can’t even create a decent app! Unacceptable!!
If you can’t make a good app, can you protect identity data?
Reading the reviews you will see that 3 years ago people complained about the app stating server issues. That is still a problem today. The app often won’t display the new warnings because of server issues. This week it got even better and reset all my warnings to not read. And even if I open them, they maintain an unread status so I can’t tell when a new one comes unless I know the last number of unread warnings as they just keep growing. For what we pay, this is a terrible experience. Makes you wonder if they can protect digital data when they can’t find good programmers to make an app.
I expected more from the app itself, but perhaps they’ve swapped UX designers for info security programmers to make the core product itself solid rather than making the app look slick. I’m still on the fence about the service, which does alert you but it seems the alerts don’t come in as fast as you’d expect. I have alerts set up for when transactions occur over a certain dollar amount. This works, but the alerts are 24 hours after the event (I would expect they are refreshing their data and alerting me much more frequently. They could also benefit from educating their customers a bit. When I hear “dark web” I think it’s a made up marketing terms to strike fear so I’ll buy. If they made me feel more informed I would likely stick around next month and the month after.
My credit score hasn’t been updated for like 3-4 months... There isn’t any way I can find in the app to actually view or update my credit report. The vast majority of the urgent alert emails I receive are just updates about sex offenders registering within some massive radius of my home address but it doesn’t tell you that when it send out the alert so you actually have to log in to find out that, no, your credit is fine some guy that was caught with kiddy porn moved back in with mom 6 miles away ... Well, maybe your credit is fine, but who knows... you can’t actually update your report to confirm that.
Identity Force changed their platform and revised the program. The revised program is not wotking well with my iPhone and iPad. Alerts show up on the screen and the program freezes. I cannot use the app on there devices. When I go to the web and sign up on my computer, the program seems to be working except for the alerts. I am receiving notifications of new alerts on my phone and when I go to the site there are no alerts. These problems have been going on since mid June 2021.
My credit scores haven’t been updated since February. Why? And there doesn’t seem to be any obvious way to refresh to get updated scores. Very frustrating! Why am I paying for this garbage service when I can just get my credit scores for free with many credit card apps? If this is not fixed very soon, I will be canceling. Also, please make the app more user friendly. People are paying their hard earned money for this service after all. The app needs to be redesigned. Management at Identity Force have a lot of work to do to improve this app!
I got the alert, opened the app, clicked on the highlighted link and there was nothing there but a blank page. Closed it, checked back later and it was the same way. I did this repeatedly. Same outcome. I deleted the app and went through the log-in and the same problem occurred. Worse, every time I open the app now, it’s still stuck on the blank page. So, why not give it a total failing grade? This is a new problem. Before this, I loved the app. I’m hoping this low rating will stir someone to fix the app so that I might return and raise the rating.
I called in to pay for the family plan, then they sent me a link for installation of their main program (which I did for two Mac ProBooks). I got a little excited to implement as much functions as I could that IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit can monitor. So much so, that I also downloaded their phone app, which works also pretty good so far. I feel confident and happy using IdentityForce.
I love the monitoring service as I’ve received alerts about me doing things before, so I know that it works. However, every time I try to click on one of the monitoring alerts I just get a pop up notification saying “Server Error” and that I should try again later (USA iPhone 12 iOS 15.1.1). Been seeing it for months now and wish the devs would look into it. It’s almost definitely uncaught 500s somewhere.
Two issues I’ve experienced with this app as of late. I don’t receive badge notifications on the icon any longer. Also, after I read an alert and go back to the main menu then the alert still shows unread. I have to open the alert several times before it gets marked as read. I have checked for the latest download and I have an iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 12.3.1. Please fix this!
I’ve been a subscriber for at least 3-4 years and now I’m shopping for a alternative. Frustrating to get alerts and be unable to get access via the latest upgrade to their app. We get “we are having network difficulties, please try again later” error message again and again. Removed and reloaded app. Same error. Turned phone completely off and back on with no improvement. App and service have changed and at his point, not for the better v
For the past several months, I’ve been getting financial fraud alerts that I’m unable to read. It says “Server Error.” Every time I called customer service, starting months ago, customer service acknowledges the problem but tells me to wait for a few weeks for a fix, and call them again if it still doesn’t allow me to open alerts. So, there’s “financial fraud”, but I can’t open the alerts in the iPhone app AND on the web site to see what financial fraud is occurring. Scary. Today, I went in to Manage Account and cancelled my account.
Later version of dashboard not as good as the 2017 layout AND information. My account in 2017 seemed to provide so much more, and this new App makes it VERY difficult to find information. The app guidance says to go to "My Services" to reset the fraud alert, but there is no "My Services"!!!!! Need to update the guidance to match the app so we can actually get the information out of the app we are paying for. Update September 2018 - Still one star. Touch ID does not work. Won’t even scan finger. Layout still not very intuitive either. Just bring back the 2017 version please.
The service doesn’t alert you as fast as other credit monitoring services do. Alerts are about 24 hours delayed from when an event takes place. In addition, the app is really slooowwww and FaceID has NEVER worked no matter what I try. Still on the fence about staying with Identity Force. Hoping they get better or I’ll jump ship when something better comes along.
You send an email saying you don’t like it and want to cancel. They say oh we are sorry you have to call to cancel. You call to cancel they say oh sorry the Tier 2 people aren’t here, they are the only one’s that can cancel your account. You say: oh ok leave them a message that I want to cancel. They say: Oh they need to verbally hear you say that. You say: This is my verbal. They say: I can’t take that verbal. Someone will call you. So in order to cancel your free trial you need to send an email, call, wait for a call from them. That’s where I’m at right now.
Someone stole my Social and attempted to open four credit cards. I received multiple notices from IdentityForce. They connected me with a third party to help resolve all of the credit issues. After about one month everything was resolved. IdentityForce is worth the membership fee.
I get the alerts instantly and when I open them, I get full details of the alerts. The customer service and agents were so patient and ready to assist with any questions I had. Simply the best service I received and a good value for your money! Thank you IdentityForce.
They responded to my first review and asked me to email Member Services since I've been locked out for a year, previously requested the account be canceled and WAS CHARGED AGAIN! So... I dutifully emailed member services AGAIN and, of course, haven't heard back. I imagine this service must work for some, but being unable to login since day 2 (a year ago!) and never receiving password reset messages or any response from member services and being charged EVERY YEAR is as big a flag as one can imagine.
I signed up for identity force by the recommendation from Slimware. Not only bad reviews, server errors, online timeouts, and slow server problems are the reason for the cancellation, it’s because I went into the commitment to your service blind and trusted you to be efficient and worthy of my most personal data. In turn, I must also now (unfortunately) find an alternative for Slimware, whom recommended you in the first place. Sorry gang, wish I had some good news to share.
The app has such basic and limited information and functionality it’s not really that helpful. Time for a major overhaul! Also, when are you going to make your website simper and easier to use? And provide easier to understand and clearer information about connections and when the login credentials break and/or are reset? I just discovered most of mine were broken and I had no idea. Why would you not tell us? Isn’t that the point of your monitoring???
I literally sleep better at night knowing my info and identity are protected and monitored around the clock. After having someone scam me out of person info of mine, I had no idea what they might try with it. I've seen it happen before personally, and I'll be damned if I let it happen to me. Thanks u guys!
The app does not offer much more than alerts. If you want or need to look at other information on your account it seems you have to use the browser site as the app offers little. Disappointing.
Website program has more features and iPhone app has fewer features but enough to alert you to investigate full website program. After all, when you get too much stuff on even an iPhone 6S Plus or the be iPhone X screen it looks cluttered, small type, and hard to read.
I am in law enforcement and I have worked numerous identity theft cases. I became a victim of identity theft recently I knew I should of went with Life Lock but I went with these guys. I am unable to get onto this platform and I have contacted the customer service who does not have any answers. Going on two days have not heard back from them. Also I can’t get on the website using my laptop. The password and email are correct. Horrible service go with a different company.
I really appreciate that my information is being watched over and I think the alerts are fast and helpful. The latest app update is great. New phone scan included lets me know if anything funky is going on. Love the all clear messages whenever I use it!
One year since I wrote: “Points for doing the upgrade but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work right… I’m having trouble navigating between the screens because the navigation controls are conflicting with the iOS menu bar items” And same problems remain...also I have to click twice on an alert to clear it. I don’t understand why seemingly simple issues can’t be fixed.
I received an email from IdentityForce saying there was an SSN alert and requesting me to log in and check details. I first logged in to the app. There was the alert, but the app hung and never showed any content. I then logged in to IdentityForce website. This time there was no alert at all. Nothing in the webpage under my account including the credit score monitoring I just signed up several days ago. I felt I was scammed.
App no longer recognizes my password. I am forced to change it every time I log in. Dash board no longer easy to see at a glance what’s going on. Now you have to dig into to it to find the info your looking for. And I haven’t gotten an alert of any kind since the first month I purchased the service. The updates on design have really just made the app so tedious.
Not a bad app. Could use a little fine-tuning, but pretty good overall. I do wish the VPN would stay on when the phone is not being viewed. It also has some visual problems when using zoom on the iPhone, words will kind of run together. Other than that it is a good ap.
Developers fixed this issue so I upped the rating to 4 stars. After archiving alerts in the app, the badge notification counter still shows the number of alerts.
I love IdentityForce! I have actually been sleeping better since I signed up with them. Unfortunately, the app needs work... a lot of work! It really doesn’t do anything and they have such a great opportunity to provide a full-fledged powerful app that will give IdentityForce customers another great reason to stay with them. I really hope they are working on some great features for IdentityForce app’s future.
This really is a comprehensive service. They monitor your digital identity along with your financial identity. I appreciate receiving text alerts since I don’t think to login consistently. Great interface. Easy to use. Great price for the protection you receive.
Had a security concern and IF patiently and professionally worked with me. They also made a follow up call the next day to confirm things were still OK. AND, all of the agents I spoke with were right here in the U. S. and spoke very clear English!! WOW!
This app and service don’t seem worth it to me. There’s very little customer education on fraud and theft protocols and what to do if something happens, and also the app rarely works to let me in. “Server error, try again later”. Fix your app, and better-inform your customers of what each in-app or email alert means, and perhaps I won’t be canceling my membership and looking for a new ID theft protection plan soon.
Please don’t waste your money whit them. I signed for year protection, 149,00$ especially to protect my ssc my email and my phone number. But I also have that same protection from my bank , just last year,it was 5 attempts to open accounts whit my ssc number , my phone number I just have to change, and my email was damaged to. This APP never sent any type of alert!!! My bank did everything. I wish I could give 0 stars
I like that I should have the ability to view my alerts on my phone. Except the FaceID doesn’t work regardless how many times I reset it. Once I’m in a message, the app is very slow to respond to exit out of the message. This app used to work well. I’m not sure what changed - it’s a hassle to use it now. Not what I want in an app that is alerting me to financial activity.
Nothing better than IdentityForce to protect your identity. I just open a new account and get notifications from all 3 credit bureaus. Plus other alerts. I used to have Life-lock and the only monitor Transunion.
Credit cards duplicated in vault. Credit cards cannot be removed. Credit report : error message while accessing Credit rating: cannot access Notifications cannot be deleted Contacting The company they suggest delete app and reinstall (like the cntrl-alt-delete) for the old Microsoft. IT DOES NOT WORK. JUST FIX IT.
Unable to use on my iPhone X. Server error followed by immediate crash. The only solution is to remove and reinstall which will make it work 1 time. VPN feature sounded great but I am unable to login in to activate it. There is no excuse for this and I’m done trying. At least I know if my phone is stolen the thief will never be able to access the app. Do better IdentityForce. Lower the monthly fee and quit advertising this completely useless app.
This app need to be improved. I don’t think this app is that user friendly. Every time I tried to log in it said server error which kinda annoying. I have to close the app wait for little bit to reopen it. Inside the design somehow confusing. I really hope they can improve the app more user friendly….
So far, works great! It’s nice to see you get an alert on my credit cards and social media. Once you download the app, you’re able to see more detail on each alert.
