Pretty good, but...
Two areas for improvement: (1) Need something on the home page of the website that detects if someone’s using a smartphone and tells them “It’s better in the app.” Hiding the existence of the app under Tools and then under More didn’t work for me. I doubt it works for anyone. (2) Your phone answering bot told me I needed to set up a pin for my phone number under My Data. Searched the app high and low, but couldn’t find My Data—because it isn’t there. Either tell callers to set up the pin on your website using a browser, or add My Data under My Account in the app.

Horrible customer service. I never leave reviews but I had a horrible experience. I was with this company a couple years. Things were fine as a NEW customer. I ended up purchasing 3 contracts. But after several mistakes from the company resulting in losing my domain name that I paid for annually canceled all contracts (which took literal hours on the phone) only for them to continue charging me. When I reminded them that I cancelled because they lost my domain to another company without notifying me then told me I needed to pay them $90 to get it back! I told them I am not interested in paying for someone else’s mistakes so I’d like to terminate all existing contracts. They argued with me. Did not want me to cancel. Argued. To the point I was upset. I did not want their services. But they ended up canceling and gave me a confirmation number. I thought things were over. So now they decide to continue to charge my account while my account is closed, contracts are canceled and I no longer have access to the “invoice page”. I canceled my account yet they still keep charging me. I’m calling my bank and my legal representative next. I do not recommend this company. They do what they can to sell their contracts yet have no clue on how to manage them. How does a company lose a domain name in the middle of a paid in full contract? Do not buy from these guys.

Serious warning about this company
They will sometimes double charge you without sending an invoice and say the reason and say it will be refunded to your account next month ( big lier ). I do not know who to complain to. They block your account and make your information and domain inaccessible without any explanation. Support will not respond to your email or phone in any way if there is a problem with your account. And finally you auction your time and money with this company. You can not back up more than 1 GB of data and more than 100,000 files, and the support section does not back up for you. This means that your information is locked with this company. Gives you an error message when you want to zip data from more than 100,000 files after 5 minutes. Funny isn’t it !!! I’ve lost my data after 3 years and no one responsible and reply to my request of backup.

Good webhosting on the cheap
This is my first crack at doing a website. After a little bit of a learning curve using the editor I think I’ve got a decent little site. The templates look great but all are kinda similar in a lot of ways. You can enter HTML if needed, and there’s a developer mode for advanced users. Extra features tend to be at extra cost; my .99¢/mo site only includes one email address for example. Search engine optimization is another added cost item but seems reasonable for what gets done. I used a third party site to register my domain, so if I need to move the site it should’ve too hard. All told I think there’s pretty good value here. You pretty much can’t lose.

It’s okay, prefer website
The app is alright. But there are so many problems, starting with it often tells me I have limited access to features sometimes because it thinks I’m on a mobile device sometimes and a desktop other times; it also tells me I can’t use certain features because the cookies is disabled, but I have all my cookie permissions allowed; and lastly, if it disconnects at all, it won’t save any progress until I close out and open it back up. I went almost an hour and previewed my page and all of it was gone. But it is nice being able to edit on the go!

Just a thin veneer on top of their web site
And not a particular good veneer at that. For example, when using the app to run the "WebSite Checker", the details pages seem to lose their session id so that the page brought up a basic account administration panel from the web site instead of the correct details page. On their website, the Contact Support option does not work — I click on Login and the page redirects back to itself. Frustrating. I tried the app hoping it would use a different API, and it apparently _does_ process the login, but there's still no online support option available (I'm forced to use a phone call, which I definitely do NOT want).

hosting garbage
"Hosting garbage, the Apache server it has is garbage, it doesn't support Composer installation. To log in, you have to downgrade the PHP version, but I'm not sure it will work because PHP 7.4 should be included in PHP 8.2. Customer service is controlled by pure incompetents who know nothing; ask them about HTML, they don't know; ask them about PHP, they don't know. They will do everything possible to make you pay more, like removing your CDN to charge you more. It's a scam. Also, they might destroy your website's CSS, making your forms stop working, so they can charge you for virus protection. They will do everything in their power to make you pay more for your hosting contract. 000webhost offers much better services and more security for free. So if you don't want to waste your time, stay away from this garbage."

Worst experience ever!
Horrible customer service. 19 reps 10 calls. Disconnects. Hang ups. Rude. Rude. Terrible. Calls sent to overseas call center and they are horrible! You finally get an English speaking and the call gets disconnected. In the middle of live chat it disconnects. Hours into trying to get customer support and 19 people now and all I have done is waste my time on this company and the terrible service. Still on the phone after hours. Still getting nowhere. Hoping this call doesn’t disconnect or they don’t hang up on you! Worst experience ever! The site doesn’t work. It is chaos. Circle. Things don’t go thru. You have to repeat actions over and over because they don’t take. But don’t count on customer service. That is another waste of time repeating actions

Great app but not the easiest to navigate
Great app but not the easiest to navigate and there’s too many steps when it comes to accessing your web mail box. It should just be one click on the drop down menu but you need to click on three separate things to get to your email log in page. My suggestion would be to have all the emails created listed towards the top of the drop down menu so it’s just one easy click to the log in page. Other than that the app is great and runs smoothly.

Wonderful Service In Desperate Need For Update!
The service provided is wonderful. However, there are some serious bugs with this application. It is very difficult to edit and change your website as the website editor does not load properly whether you are using a mobile or a desktop. There is also a serious delay bug in the app. Once you make a selection/press a button, it takes a considerable amount of time for that selection to upload to the screen. Upon the update to these bugs, I would gladly give this application five stars!

I continue to get emails telling me that my email account is going to be canceled. I have assumed it is spam and is not being sent by you. My account is paid up and I use my email daily. If there is something I am missing please advise. Thank you

i registered on ionos to use a specific e-commerce platform.. so far,I've managed to raise my blood pressure and that was about it. I am very apt in web design and service and I donis see round and round and round adding more prop what are you to add more products but never letting you as the website unless you pay for their service. I already paid for your service.I don't need a starterBeginners website builder. I need my files. So that I can do my own programming. It's set up where it talks when she jumped right into analyzing your website and the statistics and I am frustrated because I don't even have the pages writtenyet. So I don't care about the statistics for my presents online because I haven't got to do anything yet.

Bad service
I had this account for almost a year, i was not able to even use my email , i paid for it for 3 years not understanding fully what the purpose of everything being offered to me was actually for, almost a year in WITHOUT using the app or the invisible email i OWE them $80 thats not fair, i need my secured email which the use was not possible the entire time as the app is difficult to navigate and only keeps offering to sell your product . I never used this email to its full potential but these people got almost $60 off my hard earned money, DO NOT USE. She tried hard to help me. The system is confusing and difficult to use. Gotta be a tech guru almost . Smh i WANT MY MONEY BACK

Can’t get straight answers
I Cancle’s one contract and started a new one , paid and all. It’s been 4 days and I have no access to the services I purchased. Every time I call I keep getting told longer periods of wait time between contracts. First it said I could immediately set up my email and build my website. Called and was told it takes 24 hours , called 24 hours later and was told 48 hours, waited 48 hours and called and was told 3 or 4 days . If I can’t access my services by noon today I’ll want a refund and I’ll go somewhere else. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but sometimes it’s the only way to get results. I just wish it didn’t take bad reviews to get results from you guys

Poor customer service
I have been an 1&1, now IONOS, customer for 20 years. Up until recently I was pleased with their service but when they locked my accounts over a $9 bill from an organization I helped 8 years ago but was not responsible for, it was the straw that broke the camels back. I am moving my multiple domains and hosting to another provider as quickly as possible. I even tried to pay the bill just to move on but they could only interact with me via email and I would have had to pay the $9 by wire transfer, costing me much more in bank fees. I have never experienced a company who made it so difficult to do business with ever before.

No more free anything with IONOS
1and1 now IONOS used to be a great site to build websites no other partners… easy , simple no outside payments a lot of free templates, free add payment systems Etc… 10 years I have been with them, now everything changed and everything needs to be by subscription with other companies… more mistakes … everything is paid. By subscription and no good customer service cause the employees are also confused with all these new partnerships wix, Wordpress, joomla. I had work with all of the and I liked IONOS systems NOW ITS GONE” IONOS is not what use to be very disappointing ☹️ to complicated

Not worth the savings; loads of spam calls.
What a great reel you in price. I signed up, lots of windows to navigate. Anyways… come Monday morning the spam calls started and they were relentless, probably 1 every 20 min for the past 3 hours. And then the spam texts started. I called IONOS for help getting it to stop and was told “in reality spam calls are a thing and there is no way to stop them”. Yes I know that …. But at this rate it is unrealistic! I would give zero start if I could. Why would I want to do business with a company that doesn’t respect my privacy nor want to assist in making it stop. It’s disruptive to my business. I will not continue business with IONOS.

Login Security
I appreciate the stability of the app and website interface, much better than before. It is still a little behind the times: the on-device 2FA option is great, but why not implement Passkeys, which are more secure and highly phishing-resistant? And, enabling Apple or Google Pay would be nice, and more preferable to PayPal, which still requires “maintenance” (keeping the card info, expiration date, and changes in CVV updated), which is not necessary with Apple Pay, for example, because the bank updates that info seamlessly on the back-end.

This app has become useless.
This app used to be handy for checking various details of your account. It was very nice if you needed to call support. Unfortunately only a few of the options still work and even those lead to errors before you are actually able to complete a task. Using it to contact support no longer works so until they release an update that restores all of the old functionality you should give a one star review then delete three app. I think it is time for me to find a new vendor anyway. The new plan they transitioned me into isn't even close to the features offered by my old plan.

A lot of these platforms offer pretty much the same product lines, but what I have found that makes Ionos stand out from other providers is the customer service and responsiveness. I appreciate how easy it is to talk to customer and IT services whenever I have an issue or a question.

Horrible customer service
I used them for almost 10 years. My credit card needed updating which I did. They didn’t process the new card I updated. My website was taken down and sent to collections over $41. My sites been down for 4 days after I paid collections. It’s now Memorial Day weekend my busiest week of all and I am getting nothing. Unfortunately the format they send their emails goes to my spam folder. The fact they couldn’t take another payment directly to avoid this was ridiculous. I expect a lot more from a tech company that’s automated.

Frustrated
This app could be great however, I don’t like that you constantly have to send emails for assistance. When you try to edit certain things on your web page it redirects you to a nonexistent page. So I’m not getting anywhere. I pd $80 and I keep going in circles. I’m truly frustrated!😡 MM

Bad customer service
I just joined a few days ago, and I contacted customer support and it just cold. So I chatted with someone and waited a couple minutes no response. Then when I finally said Hello? Guess what the agent said? “Yes.” Just that one word lol. Nope I can only imagine what would happen if I actually needed emergency help. Just overall bad, extremely cold customer service, it felt like she was being bothered by me reaching out for support so she doesn’t have to worry about me troubling her anymore cause I just canceled my domain and switched to google ✌🏽

Their services and pricing are clearly shown (no hidden fees or up-pricing like other very well known companies), their APP is best in class, as their website, simple, easy, straightforward. Its not exactly an app
It just logs you into webmail. I have to log in every time. If you use gmail or the apple mail app this will be disappointing. Sometime simple things like replying and forwarding are impossible because the buttons are hidden. Maybe its an iPhone thing or something but its not a solid app if you need to reply and the button is hidden. Going to switch back to gmail.

I’ve repeatedly tried and at some points was told I successfully cancelled service with Ionos, then not even a week later would receive another bill from them at some point I had a $14 amount sent to a collection agency for some reason and then Received a call from ionos asking if I’m enjoying the service… I would advise at all cost to use some other service I’ve been dealing with them going on a year at this point with no success.

I got a bill December of 2023. When I tried to pay the bill it said my account was no longer active and I wouldn’t log in with my credentials. Today, two months later I got an email from a collections company saying I still haven’t paid. I have no issue paying the bill but if they lock you out of your account then send you to collections within two months that’s a shady company that no one should do business with!!

Horrendous UX
I never ever ever leave reviews.. but as someone who’s been a customer of 1&1 since 2012.. this is just pathetic. Operating this app is equivalent to opening a desktop version of a website on your phone... it scales horrendously, forcing you to scroll around with your fingers to find what you’re looking for on a page. Honestly, this is probably the last straw for me.. if you can’t even make a basic mobile app after all these years, I don’t think there’s much future left in this company.

It is too complicated for nothing!!! When I try to get help, the representatives are too complicated for nothing!!! When I close my account due to continuously getting notifications of system outages for weeks, I get notification of a bill…for a $1.05 on an account with a special promotion!!! What is wrong with this situation?!?! The company called me three different times to deal with a situation that was resolved, which was my leaving. Now I get a bill…WOW!!!

Bad app
Not so into an app that does what it wants. I sent several messages about charges not authorized .i asked them to return my money and cancel my account and here we are again after I cancel they try to take another monthly subscription payment out and never received my money back even though I canceled hours after they took it out. Not a good deal that’s for sure !

Can’t use app.
Whenever I press on the app and log in. It says go to the wed site because of sharing. What’s the purpose of the app if I am gonna be always on the website. App is supposed to be convenient and see notifications and I can work from home on my iPhone device. But I can’t. Please fix this problem. I will let the owner of our company know about this issue. If it’s not change we will go with another that actually works.

Problems with adding a second email, upgrading, etc
Don’t keep asking for a rating when a person is spending hours fumbling through your business trying to make it work. Surely you can program this “rate us” thing to not keep appearing every time a person tries a different approach to solve their problem. Sorry, but just frustrated trying to make your system work... and, yes, I know it is my own ignorance causing the problem, but please quit asking for ratings while I am struggling!

Don’t take black people money
I have a balance of $17 I have a card over that amount so I have to call them to go off just to see my payment go through. Every year it’s the same thing over $20 it’s not that serious so I decided to let them go after 3 years last time I give my credit info they take money out my account in the middle of the year I do not trust giving them my main card info that’s a no go 4me. What’s the point?
There’s absolutely no way for me to add anything— images, new text. I can only edit what’s already existing on the website, with the exception of needing to delete elements. I have to do everything from my desktop computer! There is no point in even having this app! It’s exactly the same on Safari mobile for me. Can’t edit text, it’s useless, and I’m paying way too much a month for this trash. Get with it, 1&1. You used to be great, and now the platform is absolutely terrible.

I am a neophyte with WordPress. And while IONOS Support is concerned primarily with infrastructure, they have held my hand with everything from ensuring I was attached to the right URL, to intra-page blocks/links. IONOS Support is a model that any customer support organization should strive to achieve: Outstanding.

Difficult checking email
I have no complaints other than the fact that I’m always on the road and it’s extremely difficult to check my email from the IONOS app. Your representatives offered to help last year by telling me to run it through Google. The reason I have IONOS is because I don’t want to run my email through Google. I’m almost at the point where I’m going to switch to another company. Thank you Jen Dininny

Pricing increases and email are problematic
I’ve had my account for years (1&1) due to having several established email addresses. The spam filter is subpar. The app is cumbersome and aggravating for checking and managing emails (I spend an hour just digging emails out of the spam folder and marking them as safe). The price increases for basic services are getting out of hand. Not recommended.

Double charges
1and1 has not been my domain or website host since 2014. As long as they have some kind of access to ur bank account and, or, your Paypal account, they will charge you for services that they undoubtedly know are not authentic nor legitimate. They have been charging me an exorbitant amount of money without my knowledge, until recently when I saw my account had repeat charges since 2014 to date.

Was working but not any more
App was working fine when I downloaded it a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden everything is in German and it doesn't recognize my user name & password. Tried deleting the app and down loading it again, but it is still in German. Called the phone support line and they didn't know how to fix it. Ended up deleting the app. Went from a 4star to a 1star. If you fix this, would be happy to use it again!

App is bad. Service ok
Very user unfriendly with things not loading or being visible. Inefficient and confusing. Pressing contract for example generates white page instead of showing ur domains. Back button goes back to loading page. It feels and looks like something that was made in the last century and no one bothered to check for errors and update it.
