App doesn’t function, period. TRADOC clearly has no idea what they’re doing. When is Release 3 coming out? Zero info and zero capabilities. I really want to like this app (if solely for the ability to submit a leave request from anywhere), but I can’t wait for some old dinosaur commander to refuse to use this (or expect us to still do a “hard copy” for their review). I hope the Army drags them kicking and screaming into the 21st century, but I doubt it, much like I doubt Release 3 will be here in time for Christmas (it’s only about a year behind schedule at this point)
When I saw that the app had finally fixed the DS Logon error so you could access IPPS-A on this app I was hopeful. No such luck. This thing is exactly what it say it is…a launch platform where you are simply taken to the IPPS-A website. And what’s worse, when you go to the PAID section to check your leave, you are taken to the windows version of it which is absolutely useless on your phone unless you zoom in to see it! What is the reason you guys can’t just make a working app? Wait, let me guess…it’s too hard with security features and data will be stored somewhere else, blah, blah, blah. I fail to believe that the Army can’t at least hire a contractor to make an app that is secure to go to on on your smart device instead of being taken to the actual website. Do better Army!
Hi. Love being able to complete a leave form on the app on my phone but needs to be easier to log onto. My Apple iPhone doesn’t like the security and doesn’t want to let me through. I have to try multiple time. Also you should be able to print from the leave forms an actual form with form number, signatures, etc. I needed to provide a copy of my leave form to a travel office at the airport and it was very hard to find something with my name to present. I look forward to future improvements and features! Thank you for all your hard work.
Of course it’s another failed app from the army. Basically have to have a ds login which is okay by me, but what’s the point of the app if it just send you to the website anyways ? Doesn't really make much sense maybe one day the army will get with the program. Until then they will watch you kick and scream until your ETS date and beyond.
App needs more support. Installation instructions are easy to follow but after the profile is installed the login page refuses to load. Eventually, “Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.” App needs to be integrated into a true application with builtin widgets as if it was the website itself. Get rid of downloading profiles and certificates. Add support for PKI on the IOS platform without the use of a 3rd party application. Include builtin support for common token readers. Yes, this means you must go to Apple and have them help just like we did with Microsoft.
Only really allows you to submit for leave. Doesn’t let you see your STP. Doesn’t let SMs see their PPWs. Doesn’t allow for a lot of self service actions you’re able to do on a computer. Also have to go round and round just to login. The last update said the trust certificate issue was fixed but not on my iPhone apparently cuz I still have to click through the warning pages like 8 times then hit refresh just to get it to load. If nothing changes with the next update I’m definitely uninstalling the app
IPPS-A is NOT an app, but rather launches from a webpage. Features, such as the STP, are not fully visible, and additional options that would have LOVs/drop-down menus do not have visible selections. If there is continuous support for this mobile platform, the developers should devise methods to make ALL features readily available; especially since there are features to ensure SMs are properly identifying themselves. All I can say is this, take it back to the drawing board and make this an actual app that launches within itself instead of launching a webpage.
I’m not usually compelled to write reviews, but the Army needs all the harsh criticism it can get, so hopefully senior leaders and civilian workers can figure their lives out. The idea of the app is about the only good thing that comes from the app. It’s a launch platform that takes you to a webpage. Of course since it’s a government website, you’re promoted with an “unsecured website” message. Safari and Google will not let you proceed even if you accept the risk. This app is utterly useless.
This app would literally make everyone’s lives a million times easier if it worked properly. Great idea, poor execution. Haven’t seen an update since ‘Nam. It’s hard to believe with all the funding in the world they can’t figure out how to create a fully functioning app. Hope it’s fixed soon.
Can we not waste millions of dollars sunsetting systems every other year and replacing them with stuff we know is inferior? Garbage product. Garbage system. Let’s just do what every other big tech leader does and pick something good, stuck with it and improve it instead of having 4 different systems that all do the same thing but are somehow supposed to replace one another
How did you guys not test this out and work out the issues before putting it out to the masses? This is just like the DFAC of apps, looks decent on the outside but horrible on the inside. Bad enough you direct us to the site that can’t even be trusted by my phone to even log in🙄 do better guys…toss this on the pile of another reason for low retention
I’ve done all things required to start an account on the mobile app. However, the certificate we downloaded clearly isn’t the certificate needed for me to even access the login page, so I can’t even get it to that point to login, that’s after downloading, installing, and trusting the certificate provided to us.
Been having the same issue now for a couple of months. The two factor authentication fails every time. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and nothing works. Something that’s supposed to make our lives easier and I can’t even log in.
I’ve tried both DS and CAC login on my phone and both options result in immediate website crash after logging in. I can get into most other army websites no problem, just not ippsa. The same happens when using any browser app as well
The app worked a few months ago, but it has stopped since then. This time, I tried removing the DoD certificate profile from my phone and deleted the app to see if that would fix the issue, but now there is a 404 error when I try to download the certificate.
leave it to the Army to create THE WORST app known to man.. it would be a great app if it actually was an app. it literally just takes you to the website but even then it doesn’t function at all. Just use the site at this point. I’ll have a strawberry lemonade with light ice. I’m not really hungry.
I thought this would enable me to access ipps A, the app requires you to download certificates that don’t load. The only thing that works is the main page. I don’t know why I though this may work.
Why everything the Army has is really bad? Lowest bidder gets the contract? I was only using this app because the few things that actually works was looking at your promotions points sheet but now is gone. Thx for nothing.
The self service logon is broken. After following the steps for the new user account the logon page will not even attempt to load. I’m not sure how it got worse but yes this app is not worth using if you can’t logon
Why every time I try to log in, it tells me to close the page because this app may be impersonating the actual IPPS-A app (which I thought this was the app) and it’s trying to steal my personal and financial information?
Tried using DS Logon and the app takes you to a webpage that will not allow you to go to the page and log in. For the headache, I’ll use a regular browser.
Install on an IPAD was easy. Instructions were a bit vague but easy to figure out. Once installed the app does not access IPPS-A. It just times out or crashes.
This is a complete failure from the word “go”. No wonder near peer competition is a threat. We can’t even do admin right. No one better mention this as a success on their OER/NCOER. The Army made it, so you know it’s junk.
This game is in the poorest of taste as there is a paywall for buying and entry. This video game encompasses nothing but PAY TO WIN. This will take away from ammo that could be used on ranges. I hate you all .
An ape has better UX/UI design skills. How many tax dollars were misused for this garbage? Is the government so incompetent that this is the best people they can hire?
worst app in the history of apps. there’s no real reason for this app. waste of tax dollars, doesn’t really work. goes straight to the internet anyways.
The Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Launch Platform will provide soldiers with a user-friendly way to access the DMDC My Access Center through DS Logon. The core feature will be a push button that will direct the user to the DS Logon sign-on
