Fantastic
I’m a teacher and I use this all time in my professional and personal life. I scan all my worksheets for school, so I have a blank digital copy, and then I can display it on the smartboard - write class notes and examples and save as a new file that gets posted on my digital classroom so any absent students have access to what we did together in class. For home use, I scan all my bills and such that I think I may want for future reference (in the organized digital files), so I can shred the paper versions. So handy to have access to various paperwork I might need anywhere I go with my phone. Also, I scan my child’s artwork and any papers they want to “keep.” Even though we do keep a few masterpieces, having a digital copy has made my child less resistant to tossing the originals. This is a user friendly app. I’ve have it for a few years and they keep upgrading it to make it a very useful tool.

Not sure why the 4.8 rating!
Between the non-stop ads and the developer’s relentless pursuit of premium subscriptions, I couldn’t get anything done. I’m no tech genius, but that’s why we have apps to help, right? I also understand the need for revenue. However, if you offer it for free, then let us use it. I didn’t ask you to give me something free, you offered it. I had 9 documents to scan and convert to a PDF format to send as an email on my iPad. I tried to keep them in one folder, but after 4 or 5 pages, it wouldn’t let me continue without upgrading. I then did them one at a time and individually converted them to PDF format. Again, it stopped me after 5. While attempting all this, I had to go through two ads after every three clicks navigating the app. The pages that I was able to convert were sent to my iPages app. When I went to there to view the pages, all the scanned pages were faded gray and unable to be opened. Also, be advised, the free 3 day trial requires you to cancel 24 hours previous to the expiration. So, that’s really a 2 day free trial. Read the fine print. I’ve deleted the scanned pages and the app as well. Reviews looked good, but the app didn’t come close to expectations.

Shady Subscription Practices
I needed to quickly scan a single sheet of paper. The app showed the option to enable a trial of their subscription services, which i deselected. when i continued it enabled a subscription anyways. i do not think that the payment screen showed up, because i also received a call at the same time, but when i went back to the app, everything seemed fine. i DID NOT double click the power button and allow face ID to scan my face. this may be partially the fault of apple, but either way, i did not want to pay $10/m and i would not have continued if i knew that was what i was getting. i cancelled my subscription in my settings, but for some reason i cannot get my money back. i only even noticed a subscription because apple emailed me. this is gross business practice. there is a transparent X in the top left of the screen that allows you to not subscribe, but the toggle to enable the free trail looks like you’re selecting no subscription. i understand why developers need subscriptions, that’s not the issue. the issue is them making it look as though you’re not subscribing even though you are. either way, if i see the charge come through i will dispute it.

Great App So Far
For a smartphone app that scans, I’m thrilled. I scanned an assignment straight from my phone to my email and submitted it with no problems. You can change the contrast as well as other color and white balance settings. You can also send as a JPG, which is helpful as that is a very versatile file format. I just needed the PDF. If you are on the go, this app will be great! Of course, it takes a minute to get everything situated with what you scan (ex. You may have to align the blue dots over the edges, as it doesn’t always line up exactly with the page). However, that is minor and is actually helpful on account of using a camera instead of a dedicated scanning mechanism. With that being said, if you need a high quality scan that has a high dpi, for sure use a regular copier, as this scanner entirely will rely on your phones camera sensor. In any case, great app and I thank God for it!

Disappointing cloned by the developer and publisher.
This app is a copy of the original app, the original was a one time fee to used all of this app features. They only delisted the original to shove in a subscription option, this violates Apple ToS to force already purchased access to repurchase access to the same software. The key distinction between this and the old app; is the color of the icon “power” the original is orange, this on is green. A subtle change in detail to misled and misdirect the end user to thinking this is the original iteration. Don’t encourage this practice, do not use this app, and if you had already been misled, update and revise your review. I am disappointed and absolutely appalled in the change in direction into another subscription, why do I need to pay for a subscription for already paid the ONE-time purchase for this service, then to only pay for access for the same software, feature, license, and service. You claim the millions of downloads but failed to mention that those millions of download derives from the delisted and single-purchase iterations, and not this iteration. File a report and complain to Apple.

Evil Business Practices BEWARE.
UNREAL. The app offers an option to download and scan up to 10 docs for free until subscription, then when you enter into the first screen it gives an option to elect NOT to do the free trial, which i selected, and then yet when the very next screen loads it enacts a monthly trial membership that now the app developers are repeatedly on this thread claiming to NOT BE LIABLE FOR which I'm sure is a true legal loophole of business that they can get away with but SHAME on them for taking people's money and acting like it's not their problem. You can only cancel the subscription through your app subscriptions and the app developers specify that they need 1 days notice to cancel a subscription renewal, yet the "free trial's" subscription renewal is listed as today, the same day I started the free trial. Does this make sense to everyone reading yet? There's no free trial. There's never a point of ability for the user to cancel at any point in time before being charged. This is essentially a pay app that is misleading users into downloading and enacting as if it is a free app. Common and evil business these days. Beware. I just want my $10 back.

Beware of fine print!!!!
When you download the app, it says it has a 3-free-day trial. You might think, cool I’ll have 3 FULL days until I cancel it before it renews. Well fine print in my email confirmation just confirmed you only have ONE full day and then you are CHARGED for a renewal (1-month subscription at $9.99). I thought it was strange I was charged, so I did an investigation. They say in the fine print you “won’t be charged for the 3-day trial”— but technically you are if you don’t cancel within 24 hours. Who cancels a subscription BEFORE their FREE TRIAL ENDS? That makes no sense, and if so, then it is MISLEADING. I emailed developer through iTunes app and they just responded with “how to unsubscribe” and didn’t read my email or look at my screenshots, to see that I had already unsubscribed and then deleted the application. How does it make any sense to promote a free 3-day trial, say you won’t charge for it, but then say you have to cancel it within 24 hours to avoid renewal??? CHANGE THE RENEWAL DATE TO WHEN THE 3-day trial ENDS, because either way you look at it you’re trying to trick the users into renewing. I downloaded the app on Aug 23, cancelled sometime on the 25th, was still charged. Thanks for nothing!!!

Feeling cheated
I’ve had this app for years. Because I found it useful, I did pay a one-time upgrade fee several years ago. I loved that I could shift files easily to my Google drive or email files quickly such as when I refinanced my mortgage. I recently updated a number of apps, including this one. I tried to open it this afternoon but it kept crashing, so I deleted and redownloaded the app. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that not only were all my previous scans deleted but so was evidence of my previous upgrade! Suddenly I’m being asked for a monthly (or yearly) membership fee?!? A one time payment of $5 or $6 to make my phone into a portable scanner almost as reliable as my HP All-in-One made sense. Paying $50 per year for the same service does NOT. I only had to pay for the printer once; a membership for this app will cost more than a scanner/printer in little more than a year. I don’t see that the membership offers me any more functionality than I had before and it certainly costs far more. This seems like a money-grab, not a genuine effort to improve service. I’m feeling cheated and wishing I hadn’t bothered to update the app a few days ago.

Best Scanning App that I’ve used so far
I used a couple other scanner apps, mainly the ones that show up when you search for “scanner app” and none of them are as good as this one. The other ones require you to either manually locate the borders, which is quite annoying if your paper is curved or anything, or the auto border comes with a compromise on the quality, where it just seems like a picture that sometimes even shows the background. This one, however, has no such problems and scans with auto bordering remarkably fast with quality that seems indistinguishable from what a printer scanner would produce. The ads might be annoying however, I have no comment on that since I’m using the premium version, but I would still be willing to face some ads for quality that seems unmatched in comparison with the other sub par scanning apps available. Overall 10/10 for me :)

Works wonky sometimes, wants to recharge me for the app too!
I paid $10, two years ago, to purchase this app after the free trial version was over. Now, reinstalling the app on my phone after getting a new phone, the app asks me if I want to go "Pro," and pay either $3.99 per week or something else per month, etc. Why do I not have full access to any of the features such as "E-mail to myself, Save to Google Drive, etc." So you guys just took my $10, let me use the app for a while, and now want to charge me a subscription on a WEEKLY basis? You're joking...then why would I recommend this app to anyone else because you can use Microsoft One Cloud drive or something and make PDF's as well, and there are alternative sources to make FREE PDF's as well, rather than using this app... Additionally, sometimes when trying to take a photo of the document, the AUTO border detection feature freaks out and is shaky and can't focus on the edges and takes pictures prematurely, cutting off edges of the intended document. Lame...again, what did I pay $10 for?? Not impressed with this app at all. Disappointed to say the least :( PLEASE FIX YOUR APP and stop trying to double charge me!

Don’t count on this app to count
Saw an ad for this app where it is used to count similar objects. I was excited since I occasionally have to do just that. I tried testing it four times. First test was 3 slices of American cheese on a counter top. The app’s answer 10. Second test were 6 cylindrical shaped dog treats (similar to pipes like in the ad). I took the picture looking end on just like the pipe example in the ad. The result -8. To be fair there were items in the background that had a similar color but no where near the same shape. Tests 3 and 4 were counting books on shelves. The first time I got close enough to get 3 shelves. There were 64 books on the shelves. The app counted 36. I could see undercounting if all the books looked the same, like encyclopedias, but these books are different colors and widths. The fourth test was a different book shelf with 5 shelves. The app counted 40 books. There are 27 books on the top shelf itself. There are 106 books. I didn’t check out the app for other features. These may work flawlessly, but for the counting capabilities don’t count on me to purchase until it works better.

Does its job 👍
Never thought a scanning app would simplify my life and relieve so much pain. I want my documents to be organized and kept in one place. It had been bearable until my family moved abroad and our document folder tripled in size. We decided to digitize all documents we have and that was a huge thing to do. We started scanning it with our regular scanner. Pretty soon I realized that it was taking too much time. I tried to search for scanning apps and I'm really glad that I found iScanner. All my docs are now neatly organized in folders and all family members have access to them thanks to the cloud feature. We have to deal with so many institutions, banks, schools, etc and send them our docs, fill our numerous forms. The app keeps me sane. I automatically fill out forms, sign the docs and share them. A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Worked wonderfully until today.
I enjoy this app. Works exactly as promised. Has a bit of a learning curve. Free version has limitations but that’s to be expected. Today, the app force closes after taking a photo from within the app. I rebooted my iPad and checked for software updates and free memory. Nothing unusual but app still doesn’t work. 5 stars but lowering to 4 stars because of today’s glitch. I will not delete and reinstall the app because other reviewers have said that will not solve the problem and my previously scanned files will disappear. Will wait to see if the developer releases an update now thatApple has updated iOS several times since install. I do not think I hsve reached a “limit”of scanned documents using the free version. I would pay the monthly/annual subscription so I could scan multiple documents at once and use other paid features, but not while the app is not working.

Incredibly helpful / BEWARE of length they save docs
Love this app, yet lost incredibly important documents without any forewarning as to storage terms or chance at losing docs I thought I’d stored in safe reliable app./ or warned that it would be discarded after any period. Years of documentation carefully added to this app, only to lose some of my most important documents. Be sure to transfer any and all documents ASAP to a trustworthy app, or directly onto a hard drive or flash drive. Emails with attachments when attempting to store to scanner app will only appear as text/coding that renders useless in accessing the attachment, even when you click on attachment then try to save direct to scanner. On occasion you can screenshot instead multiple pics then transfer to scanner, way more time consuming, since you’ll need to immediately save the then transferred screenshots, to your files or a flash drive in order to avoid loss of records.

Reminder pop up
The scanner and the possibility of choosing from albums pictures is very good, also the pictures scanned are top notch. The only problem is that the developer let you use the app with some restrictions, and every time you touch the screen a reminder to buy the pro pops up which is annoying, also for some reason choosing from email to save into you album cause some problems with the email not recognized, at least in the free version you can not print or save the second page, in order to print or save the second document you have to delete the first one. In order to do this you have to click on the no thanks pop up purchase reminder, then choose the first document you want to delete. As soon as you delete the document another pop up reminder and the no thanks click to proceed is needed again. Do I mention pop up reminder? Two stars for the app functionality, taking in account the delete of the first page to print the second one and the email issues, with out mentioning the annoying pop up reminder.

Where’s my stuff??
I paid for iScanner probably 6-7 years ago and, although I don’t use it all the time, I have a lot of important documents in there that I refer back to now and then. And it’s been a wonderful app, I’ve really loved it. Today I logged in to retrieve a certificate to prove a class was taken and the app said there’s a new and improved app I need to use, click here to link the account and upload everything to the cloud, etc. So before I uploaded everything to the cloud or paid to increase my cloud storage, I wanted to go through my things and see if there’s things I can delete to see if I really even need more storage. So I clicked Link Later because I was kind of in a hurry and just wanted to go to my old stuff before I messed with downloading the new app and everything. Now all my stuff is gone and it says there’s no purchase to restore. When I tried to log in it made me create a password as if it’s a brand new account! Where’s my stuff?

Buyer Beware - Sneaky Weekly Auto Renewl
The app itself works okay. Nothing spectacular, but gets the job done as far as a PDF scanner goes. Having said that, I am a pretty detailed person, and usually don’t “subscribe” to services on accident. Matter of fact, I’m not sure I ever have mistakenly subscribed to a service I didn’t want. As other reviewers have suggested, the button placement combined with Face ID make it VERY easy to agree to a “weekly” subscription for $3.99 per week. I never check my personal email, and randomly I went in and saw a purchase for $8.XX. I started looking into it further - I have been billed weekly since I downloaded the app on Sept 5th for $3.99 per week until today, when I finally cancelled it on Jan 24th. Near $80 in total that I didn’t knowingly authorize. Very, very sneaky. Shame on me for not checking my bank account or emails. But, shame on these developers for the “sneaky” button placement and ease of access to a subscription based model of income. Buyer beware - this service is nowhere near worth $3.99 per week, even if you are aware of it or not. This developer should be banned from the app store for the sneaky trick they pulled.

DONT GET THIS APP
I used this for a while and realized that at some point they started charging me $3.99/week, and I only use it occasionally. I would never recommend this to anyone. I am currently trying to figure out how to entirely uninstall it. DO NOT GET THIS APP. Also - to the App Developer... you need to take a business ethics class. Just because you note something somewhere does not make it ok to charge people so much for something. I used this app a handful of times back in August and have now paid you $100. And I get that you’re saying it’s all legal, between the App Store auto subscription and you providing the information that it is a free trial that will change to a subscription. But how can you possibly justify charging $208/year on a weekly subscription? Shane on you. You may not be legally at risk on this, but you should be ashamed. You can’t control how the App Store works, but you control your prices. You should me ashamed of extorting so many people and trying to justify with that scripted legal response. It was a well functioning app, but maybe fix the major billing complaints instead of just giving us one of these —> 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Outstanding
I’ve been an iPhone user for about 10 years, and this is my first ever written review on an app. Don’t get me wrong, there are hundreds of great apps in the App Store, but the Scanner App is a utility that, I feel, deserves some recognition for truly getting it right. I only installed the app a few months ago (previously used Adobe Scan), and I immediately fell in love with it. These guys have literally thought of everything, from the high-level “categorical” scan options, down to the fine grained details seen with the auto-magnifier view when cropping the edge of your document. This app does exactly what it should do, without feeling overcrowded with unnecessary features that should be left to your document/photo editing app anyways. Thank you for making life just a little bit more convenient, it is appreciated!

Click Bait
The first approach on the app store clearly states that the app its free and also that it includes “in-app purchases”. To clarify this statement, allow me to properly state the following… the app is free for three days and you might fall into the “three day” free trial automatically. Paying then on a daily basis. The add/download system is designed to totalize the many downloads that have been made- suggesting many existing users. Let me clarify that I have not used the app and will not use it. Specifically because I reject the click bait system that so many apps are using nowadays… like this one does. Still, I just fell into the trap of an app stating that I downloaded it, even if I found out later that it was a click bait designed system.

Awesome scanner
So this app is awesome. It gives you plenty of options and crops the documents almost perfectly every time. I use it to scan homework for school. You just need to make sure there is a good background contrast for it to work well which is understandable. I’ve only run into an issue once where it didn’t scan properly and I do use it a lot. The only major issue I have with it is if you don’t have premium you it will sometimes pop up with an in app purchase to scan your fingerprint and buy it. I almost accidentally purchased it the first time it did that but I caught it. Without premium you can only scan 3 documents before you have to delete them. You can save them to your pictures then delete them and continue scanning. Premium is definitely worth it though especially if you do a lot of scanning. It’s about 5 dollars for 1 month, 9 dollars for 3 months or 12 dollars for a year.

Charges
This app is a great scanner app: it auto detects borders, creates readable images, and exports them in any format you might wan. However, the free version only lets you scan one page. My biggest complaint with this app is that they are very sneaky about getting you to pay their subscription fee. I understand how apps work; I am pretty good at this point at turning down the “pro” versions of apps when I don’t want to pay for them. With the scanner app, I attempted to do the “free trial” of their pro services so that I could scan a multi-page document. I did his when I first downloaded the app, but they charged me $10. I submitted a complaint because I did not need the full app; I felt like I had been tricked; and I wanted my money back. But that’s not a thing that apps generally do, so I obviously didn’t get a refund. I canceled my subscription and deleted the app out of frustration. I recently re-downloaded it because i needed to scan something, and—silly me—totally forgot that this was the same app that duped me before. Thus, the exact same thing happened. I used the free version until I wanted to scan a multi-page document. Clicked on that “free trial” button. And boom, got a $10 charge. This app now has gotten $20 out of me. I think $10/month is too steep for this app, especially considering how infrequently people need to scan things. I must admit that although it has great functions, I am very disappointed.

Used to be good
I really liked this app, and felt smug last year when everyone was trying to figure out how to upload school work when we went on lockdown. I’d gotten the paid version and used this to upload work for my own students for years, easily dropping stuff into Google docs, classroom, emails, etc. But lately—for months and months now—when I try to scan anything, it WILL NOT LOAD. I have to close the app and try again every time. Incredibly frustrating, especially when I need to upload 20 assignments. Each time I try, close, wait as the app takes forever to open, try again. It takes FOREVER. It’ll just spin and say loading but it never does, I have to shut it down and start over. Same kind of thing happens other times, the photo album won’t load at all, etc. I’m not excited to see that they’ve moved to a subscription model now. I’m glad I never tried deleting and reinstalling I guess. I cannot recommend anyone this app.

Ridiculous reoccurring storage fee
After installing the iScan app I can no longer scan barcodes. This app causes more problems than it solves. Somehow I missed the the disclosure notification that there’s an ongoing weekly subscription fee for cloud storage I don’t want or need. Had I seen any notification of a weekly subscription fee for cloud storage associated with this App I wouldn’t have installed it . Apple makes it ridiculously difficult if not cumbersome to quickly identify what services, subscriptions, or products you’re being charged. When you discover that you’ve been duped into paying for a subscription service you don’t want or need, be sure to address the problem directly with Apple Support, if you can reach them, or risk being locked out of your account and subsequently threatened to have your iCloud account and Apple User ID permanently disabled for disputing charges on your credit card account for services you didn’t use, didn’t know you had subscribed to, and didn’t want in the first place.

Best free scanner app!
Just downloaded this app thinking the free version would only let me scan the document as in many other free scanning apps. Wrong! I’ve been able to scan, adjust the color in many different ways and formats, sign the document ( with size adjustments and replacement), and have the options to send to an email, fax it, save to photo roll, send to document folder, and I believe one or 2 more options of moving the document all on the free version and that’s just what I’ve come across in the last 3 min. I can’t wait to download the full version! I’ve been recommended other scanning apps in the past and this one surpasses them by far! I will now be recommending this app to all the people who referred other apps along with new people! Thank you!

Unwanted Ads
This has officially become my favorite app... very easy to use and it’s been perfect for remote learning. I’m able to store my kids assignments in one place that’s easy to get to and I can upload their work/email to their teachers. However, I recently updated my phone and all of a sudden there are ads popping up in the middle of me taking pictures of a document or trying to email a document and this NEVER happened before and I’m paying monthly for the scanner pro.... usually when you are paying that helps avoid any unwanted ads and like I said I never had this issue before. I don’t know what the heck is going on but please find a way to stop this ish because I don’t want to download no word puzzle games etc. if I want to do that I already know how to go to the App Store I don’t need an ad to direct me there. Thanks!! From your happy customer with a frown (yes a frown stop the ads).

Unexpectedly handy
I want to leave this review for those who travel a lot as it might be not the most obvious way to use a scanning app, but it's amazing. I downloaded it when I was writing my thesis. At that time it helped me a lot with scanning docs and stuff. As a received my diploma I honestly forgot about it. I remembered about it when I have to quickly send a copy of my docs to a travel agent. Wow! I found out that it can scan passports and ID-cards automatically detecting the borders and the format of the scan. The agent asked me to fill out a couple of forms and I did it using the app. That was such a relief as I managed to book everything. Consider using the app for organizing docs when travelling. Super convenient!

Few issues
I drive truck and use this to scan in my paperwork. I’ve already scanned up to 60 pages. For the most part it’s super easy to use. Color or black and white, with other variations which is great. Can email or text, .pdf and some other options so that’s all great. The one thing that can be irritating is WHAT is scans. Sometimes the whole page exactly how you’d like it most times a partial page. Slanted, half the page, a small corner, and no matter what I do I can’t get it to recognize the whole page. So I spend sometime editing all 60 pages or most of them anyway. I also use for my crafts when I want certain images copied for printing. Works great for that! Same scan and edit issues but I’ve been getting by. I’ll continue to use, just wish it was more accurate.

Easy and affordable
I like the scanner app because I can’t always get out to go & scan documents. I like the convenience. The monthly price is affordable. I do want to let any that are reading this review know that you have the option to select manual if your paperwork isn’t aligning properly. You will understand if you use the app. The app has some other features for texting and changing the documents etc. You can create a simple PDF & other options for sending the documents via email or your choice of delivery. I used this for sensitive documents regarding my health care. Give it a try and if you don’t like you can always cancel with no penalties.

How Did I Live Without This?
I've tried various scanning apps in the past and I’ve hated them all. They were either cumbersome to use, and/or didn’t give finely tuned renderings of what was being scanned. I’m so pleased with iScan results, that there aren’t enough words to describe how much the app has changed my life. My only complaint, as it were, with iScan is that it’s not syncing/updating between my devices. I’m sure it must be a settings failure on my part but I’m unable to find how to fix it. However, it hasn’t stopped me from getting all the results I need and want from the product, just a bit more slowly on a few tasks. I’m so difficult to please. This app pleases me.

Great app to scan in time sheets
Started working from home and realized I needed to formally scan a paper timesheet to upload to my payroll clerk. First looked at a scanner printer combo that was over $300 for the cheaper model. But was not portable with me or my occupation. Was told about this scanning app and instantly was sold. I also use it just as must to simple upload other documents to have them transferred to a PDF format. The monthly cost is nothing compared to buying a device that is over $500 just to only have half the capability of this app. That pathetic device could pay for 50 months of advanced service. I’m a skeptical but I was won over by this one right away

Made buying a home a breeze
This app is amazing. It made home buying so much easier. I collected all the documents I would need for me and my husband to purchase a home. I scanned all of them with the app into a folder. No matter where I was when a document was requested I had access to it. Our lender kept asking what I was doing. I was able to have the documents back within a few minutes if getting off the phone. We were able to close in record time. Quick tip: This may be obvious, but I f you need statements from an account you can take a screenshot and than put it into the Scanner app. This allows you to send them immediately. It worked great with paystubs and bank statements.

Absolute LIARS, misleading “free”trial
When I downloaded the app, I was met with a pop up that told me to I had to sign up for a free trial in order to use the app. I signed up for the free trial, but was charged over four dollars the minute I signed up! Apparently, when I signed up for the “free” trial they decided to charge me the minute I did! So, I immediately sent a message to the customer service asking for them to resolve the issue, and refund me, but I was instead met with a generic email that told me they couldn’t “control” refunds. They then handed me off to Apple and I filled out my report, clicked the button, and immediately was met with an automated response that proclaimed “item not eligible for refund”. Be warned, the free trial that required to use the app immediately charges you the weekly subscription fee of over four dollars! And that four dollars only gives you a week’s worth of use! I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and the absolute SCAM I have encountered. BEWARE OF SCAM!!!

The Best App Ever
Ok, I paid $20 for one year plan because I got 83% discounts. The regular price was $9.99 per month which I think is very ridiculous. I would never pay that much to scan documents when there are lots of app that does scanning for free. Or I would use my cameras. if the price is $20 per year, I wouldn’t mind having this app even if I only use it occasionally. A penny above this price point , is a turn off for me. That being said, the feature I love about this app after using it only for one hour, is that it can scan each character and create a new and clean text document. This is great to scan books and read them on the go.

New update is bad!!!
Contacted support after original review letting them know that completely broke the efficiency of the app. Received canned responses on how they assumed their app worked. Obviously they pushed the update without testing. Here are the list of things that I personally have noticed that should be fixed: Saving scans and editing: When scanning a document if you don’t change the edits the document will be saved as the original photo scan, not what the app shows in the editing screen. Workaround: every time I scan something I have to play with the contrast or brightness to make the image save as the smoothed out pdf. Dropbox upload: When uploading to dropbox I now have to “Share” with an email address. This should not be a required field and should be optional. I understand the convenience of being able to share the document, but not the requirement. This is also a security risk because users could share with emails they don’t intend to just to get through the required process. Workaround: made up a nonsense email address that requires 2 extra clicks for every document I upload. This adds up because I can only upload one document to dropbox at a time. (See below). Dropbox upload of multiple files: When I try to upload more than one file to dropbox it only uploads the “first file” selected and no others.

SMARTEST APP EVER CREATED
I can not tell you how much I love this app. I have been using it for years and have always made sure to have it on my phone. It makes it look so much more professional and with the automatic border finder it’s the easiest app. Just hold your phone over what you want “scanned” and if you’re “scanning” multiple documents it will put them all in a file giving you 3 options of how you want it saved whether pdf-jpeg etc. If you own a business this thing will save you so much time! And if you don’t, well we all end up having to send over paperwork to someone at some point and you may as well make it look PROFESSIONAL. If I could give this app 10 stars I would. Freaking obsessed

Incorrectly Charged
I saw the three-day free trial advertisement and decided it wouldn’t hurt to try it. Upon subscribing I immediately received a bill from Apple services explaining that i had been charged $10. I was shocked, of course, because I had only activated the subscription minutes before, and because I had already cancelled the renewal of the subscription. I did some research to see if there was a cause for this, and a lot of credible sources said that this only occurs if you have applied for the subscription prior. Before downloading it on that day, I had never come in contact with this app. I’m sure it’s a great app, but I do not have need for it, nor have I used it since downloading. I tried finding a way to contact Apple about this, but it just ended up becoming frustrating. All I ask for is to be connected with one of your associates who could possibly give me a refund for my purchase, which I did not intend to make. Please get back to me.

This is my go to when I need a PDF
Absolutely, the iScanner app is a standout choice for anyone looking to create PDFs efficiently. Its user-friendly interface makes scanning documents a breeze, whether you're digitizing receipts, books, or official papers. The app's ability to produce high-quality PDFs from pictures captured with your smartphone is impressive. Additionally, its array of editing tools allows you to enhance and customize your scans before saving or sharing them. With its reliable performance and robust feature set, iScanner truly simplifies the task of managing documents digitally. For those in need of a quick, easy-to-use PDF creation tool, iScanner is definitely a top recommendation!

Scanner app I recently downloaded on my iPhone
I was looking for an app for my iPhone that would enable me to scan documents, save them to my phone, and send them to others as an email, a text, and I believe other delivery options. I am a retired attorney living in Southwest Florida. In my opinion, this app is amazing!! So much simpler than feeding documents into your scanner or even sending them to a third-party by facsimile. You just hold the phone over the paper you want to scan, and once it detects the borders, it takes a picture of (I.e., scans) the document for you. You can scan additional pages, group them as a single document, and title that doc when you save it to your smart phone!!

Cursive is a lost art at this app
I handwrote pages in blue liquid ink on pale buff paper with no noise or obstructions. Cursive, like I learned in school, and relatively large font—maybe 16 or 18 point or larger. I took an image of it in good LED light with my iPhone camera and fed it into this app. I got back garbled trash—new words I never wrote, full of characters only the Shift key could access. I see your advert promotes the ability to copy and paste a signature. What do you offer? What else can you do? My money is headed for your account and I would like an assurance of successful application to my task of converting cursive on an image of a page to readable text with a much cleaner effect. Can I access documents handwritten in anything other than block letters?

Scared me away
I just downloaded this but the amount of horrible reviews, coupled with the disappointing responses by the owner, had me delete the app before I even opened it. Be careful using something where everyone complains about being automatically charged and all the company can say is “we offer free and paid subscriptions.” Personally, I’m not using this app until someone can explain why all these people seem to be getting charged automatically, especially after deliberately not trying to be charged. Its time Apple looked into their business practices - they should not be allowed to advertise their app because it’s the only reason why it comes up first. No way this app comes up anywhere near the top of they don’t pay for the advertising. It’s like they’re just skirting the system and this needs to be fixed by Apple so apps like this don’t continue to scam people.

Useful in a variety of ways!
I’ve had the scanner app on my phone for over a year I think. It has come in handy so many times. I’ve used it for so many things - from scanning & sending a copy of medical & ID cards to help an elderly relative to scanning & filing old family recipes. I like that it allows me to create PDFs and other file formats. I appreciate the ability to edit things I’ve scanned (including “erasing” fingers & thumbs that I inadvertently captured recent in a scan). I’m sure it can do even more amazing things - I haven’t had the opportunity to fully explore the app’s capabilities. But what I have seen and used - I am very pleased with.

Not easy to redeem lifetime subscription
Customer service provided me immediate support with my issue. Now hoping for the best using the app. After reading several reviews I decided to take advantage of the current deal on lifetime subscription. I made the purchase through PayPal and tried following the instructions provided but kept getting looped back into the option of purchasing the app again. Afraid of buying it again I didn’t proceed further. I have setup my stack account and when the pop opens it starts free trial at the top. I spent well over an hour trying to figure out the app which is less than acceptable. Now I’ll find out how responsive the customer service at assisting me.

Question
Not a review.. yet, but a question. No doubt I just missed this, but can you help me? I am on my iPhone, I have already scanned the doc and it is available to me on my computer or on a thumb drive, I am just trying to turn it into a pdf and print it because it mucks with layou, making the type huge, causing tables to fall apart from the nice formatting. Blah blah blah. I will print, and send back hoping they will accept it … but 🤷‍♀️ p.s. I will also try opening and saving w my surface computer in the ‘morning’ (already way morning). We shall see! Just wanted to let you know of my woes, and hoping you will give me a 30 sec fix on my phone 😀 Thanks!!!

Fantastic!
I’ve used PDF Expert on iOS and Mac for close to 10 years I think. It was great and I always upgraded to the latest version without even thinking about it. Recently though they changed to an annual subscription. For $80 a year! I paid it once because I had no other options. Now I do! I replaced PDF Expert with iScanner three months ago after just paying the crazy price for the other a month earlier. First the free version and then in days the paid version. So many additional features that I use all the time! The count feature alone was worth the money to me! Well done iScanner folks!

Hate this app
Works great when it does but very unreliable. I take classes online and have found this to be the one of the only ones that i can send a pdf straight to google drive (which is my preference). Sometimes this app works seamlessly and i love it. However, there are many instances where the app glitches out when i am trying to convert photos to pdfs and I get stuck on the “importing” screen and I have to close out the app completely and reopen it. Each time I reopen it and try to convert the pdf it progresses by 20% sometimes by 14% which forces me to keep opening and closing out the app multiple times. This happened to me on an exam once and I had to contact my professor to verify the integrity of my answers. I paid for the 1 year subscription but I’ve had this issue happen to me more often than not. Would totally give the app 5 stars if it worked.

WORST EVER
They hound you for a subscription and offered me a free trial with a paid sub after the trial ended. I signed up for what I believed to be a free trial but I ended up finding another app that is of much better quality and does not force you into a subscription. So I ended up cancelling what I believed to be a free trial within 5-10 minutes of starting the trial because I no longer wished to use the app. Now, today I’m being billed for what was supposed to be a free trial and Apple won’t guarantee me a full refund because of it. Would give 0 stars if I could and I will be reporting them for their fraudulent practices they use to get money out of people. UPDATE- after my review they are sudent flooded with nothing but 5-star reviews and now I’m on the hook to pay for what was offered as FREE. I promise there are MUCH BETTER apps out there that won’t lie and deceive you like these devs had. I’m reporting to the BBB.

Read my review
Iscanner from the outside doesn't seem much better than any other scanner out there but it's not like that at all. However, there is an IF and only IF you use it like how the developers designed it to be used for. Yes, I'm being vague regarding it but my n Review was not to make the decision for anybody who are undecided about the app. Therefore, one thing I'm certain about though is like that I enjoy using it but it is not my only scanning app since there are other that got something that I need that iscanner haven't incorporated it yet. Iscanner is one of the apps that play a role on my team. You decide. But as always, havw fun. 8]

What a thief. Give me my $44 back!!!!!!!!!!!
This app is such a swindler! I downloaded this app on Nov 1st 2018 because it was for free. However while I was using it, I accidently touched subscribe button which was just a pop up window during scanning! It was meant to make the users accidently touch the subscribe button like me. It is just popping up without any context and notice. So, I accidently paid $3.99 at that time for the first time. I even couldn't read what the 3.99 for because it was an ACCIDENT. I wanted to find unsubscribe menu but there is no menu in this app! I felt something was going wrong. I eventually found an email address at the bottom and sent an email saying I want to unsubscribe. But they sent me an auto reply saying that they can't do anything. So I deleted this app expecting if I delete it it will be automatically unsubscribed. However what I found today was What I subscribed(even without noticing) was a weekly plan which charge me $3.99 weekly. It was paid even I deleted this app and sent email saying I want to unsubscribe it. Till yesterday it was charged for 11 times!!! Are you kidding me? Almost $44?? I can buy a printer and a scanner with $44!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me my money back!!!!! I will take action whatever I can to get the money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you who published this app!!!!

Charging me monthly for my YEARLY subscription
DO NOT BUY THIS APP. They will change your subscription with no notice and begin charging you monthly for the yearly price, and then say that they can’t issue refunds. I’ve subscribed to this app for over three years. In May, I got an email reminder stating: “Starting Jun 22, 2021, your subscription automatically renews for $9.99/year.” No problem. On June 11, same email. I was then charged in June, as I should have been. Then I was charged in July. I didn’t notice it until today, as we were on vacation when it went through and had bought a couple of other apps through the App Store. I was charged again today. I checked and my yearly subscription was changed to monthly, without my approval and and directly contradicting the emails I received prior to my renewal. This is dishonest, and I am not at all pleased.
