I appreciate the JFG mobile app. I use the iOS version. It’s very much like the desktop in functionality. One enhancement would be for the check deposit feature to snap the photo when it senses the proper position of the check. Similar to scanning in the notes feature. Overall it’s a solid app and does what it needs to. 👍🏾
I think they should look at other banking apps and then tweak this one quite a bit. My US bank app will send me push notifications every time something happens with my account (i.e: a purchase is made, your account is overdrawn, money was deposited, money was withdrawn, you only have “x” amount left in your account), this app for Johnson bank does not do that (or I have yet to discover how to do that if it does ((meaning it’s not user friendly) and I’m pretty tech savvy). If this app had that it would be 100x more than what it is. The layout of the app itself is also a bit confusing sometimes. I think they have quite a ways to go and I hope they start doing something about it soon cause it’s been a major inconvenience for me and has me contemplating on switching back to US bank for everything.
Sometimes the app doesn’t seem too intuitive in it’s organization, but it always works flawlessly and has enabled us to move 260 miles away from our former residence and not have to worry about changing financial institutions. We’ve been Johnson Bank customers for decades and were always pleased with our local banker staff. It wouldn’t have been the worst thing to have to change, but it’s nice to be able to continue working with a Wisconsin institution, and, in a sense, still support our friends.
Before the big update to this app, I rarely had to enter my password, as it’s supposed to remember it for use with FaceID. Since the big update, it never remembers my password, so FaceID can never be used. This makes it a pain to log in, as my bank password is complex. This makes the app almost useless for me, because I used to use it to check on things quickly. Now, why wouldn’t I just log onto the website if it’s going to make me go through the full login process every time anyway. I waited awhile to see if they’d fix it, but months later it’s still not fixed.
This app objectively worse than the previous one, and the myjfg service as a whole is a dumpster fire. Even the initial deployment the app was run by monkeys, as all online banking services were basically shut down for a full day to roll out this garbage. The service constantly fails to load and synchronize account information on a regular basis. Have fun being forced to be late on paying bills because the app decided that your account had no information in it that day. Enjoy not being able to deposit checks because that feature didn’t want to load. Marvel at long load screens and error messages. If you want bad ideas, then this is the thing for you.
An app should be easier to use and more succinct than the website but this is just a squeezed in version of the website. You have to open each transaction to actually know who it came from because there are a bunch of meaningless words in front of the name of the company or business. The transfer button is a lot more clunky than the previous version of the app. And then it also showed incorrect numbers in my bank account, I had to sign in online to verify and confirm what was really in my account. The sign-in functions are the only easy thing about using the app.
Looks way better than the old app. There were a few errors when they launched it (which is totally expected with a launch of a new product with any company) but customer support was always on top of it, aware of the situation and any fixes. They got me in right away and were helpful and friendly. Johnson bank is the best!
Since they took away cardless for ATM I am not liking it. I would like that back felt more secure when I used it. Also don’t care for how it alerts you when you use your cards. Used to get alerts right away now it’s back to where it was when they first did this. Makes no sense as to why it should take two days or so for the alerts and then they combine the total $$$ instead of individually alerting you to what was charged. Going backwards people instead of forward So that’s why it’s a 2. Get better service with Chase so May go back to them.
great tool, schedule transfers and bill pay super easy, and if you have an issue the IT department help right away. I have used when traveling and no complaints regarding updates and accurate information, will recommend to any customer from Johnson Bank!
So the app on a large computer doesn’t list all payees instead it faults to a scroll bar that is hard to use and payees are decided into groups. A very poor decision I have noted that the app on any device no longer allows you to see account balances with future transactions like the old system did. That was a great planning tool and needs to be restored. Tom
It would be great. If the deposit check feature worked. Especially since the bank in my area closed and I have to drive a long distance now to deposit my checks. Update after deleting and re-downloading the app the deposit check feature works.
Yes, it runs better than your past app but miss hit with My Finance Manager component. Problems you can’t add transactions including check numbers, everything shows pending until it is cleared, you can’t add other investment information , you can’t print subcategories and you can’t reconcile on the My Finance Manager part of the app. How can a bank get rid of direct access when you don’t offer a good finance app I feel as thought I went back to the 90’s.
I absolutely love the ease of being able to complete things on the app that previously was browser only! It makes my customer experience that much better! I also love the addition of MyFinanceManager and how it’s helped me keep track of how much unnecessary money I was spending! Thanks JFG!!
I love it. The only thing I wish we had was a lock option on your card sort of how late credit cards give you that option to lock your card over the app so that unknown purchases aren’t me without your consent
This app has been easy to use, but even better there are many features. Before you call the customer service, look further into the app, there is probably a way to get your answer.
Bill paynis clunky- you can’t quickly see who you’ve paid and when without several screens later…. Nobody used that part of the app before sending it over to the market
This is one of the most complicated online services I have ever used. Unfortunately it’s not just the app. Transactions needs very specific account types and you need to go two or three levels into menus in order to find payment information and make payments. Not only that but there are multiple menu selections depending on the payment type. It’s been frustrating enough that our HELOC has become the worst financial payment to make.
The new app is not a big improvement in my mind. I use online banking, there are now 3 steps involved to pay a bill now, before I believe there was one. Also once I’ve paid a bill I could print out my confirmations, with this new version that’s not possible, I believe that’s a big negative. Give me the old app it was easier.
All the info available to keep track of my accounts is available. I know day to day what my balances are. With one tap I can look at the history and account detail.
The new format took a little getting use to, but is easier to use now. I’m still finding my way around on some things, however. As a whole I enjoy the change.
JFG is by far the most user-friendly and comprehensive banking app I’ve ever used. I’ve had to suffer through other apps because of partners who banked elsewhere. So thankful for the simplicity of the AP and the great customer support.
The new app more reliably uses facial recognition than the older app. So far, I am finding it easy to use and I use the app more frequently for more transactions than signing in through my computer.
Takes more scrolling and interaction to get to things
I have to open the SCJ transaction to see who/what the transaction was for. Each account takes up more screen space so I have to scroll more to find accounts. Functionality is good, just takes more interactions than before to get to what to see or do.
I like how I can easily see what bills I have paid. I used to have to log on to the website via a computer to see if I forgot to pay a bill. Now I can see it right in the app.
I always wonder why companies change their apps usually an upgrade means a lot of frustration but this is a very user-friendly app and I really like it.
I like the app….easy to navigate, but sometimes the bill pay does not work. Not sure if it is my problem/error, or what, but generally good when it works properly.
This app has made life easier. Depositing a check electronically instead of going to the bank. Love that! Keeping track of all bank accounts and mortgage all on one. Very convenient
I like that this app opens with Face ID on both iPhone & iPad, plus on Mac Safari the password choice pops up. Once in I get everything I need. Very convenient since I live 1500 miles away from the nearest Johnson Bank branch.
This is the most consistent and responsive banking app K have used. I am able to easily navigate to what I need to use and it’s clear where to find links to tasks .
This app has everything I’m looking for and has improved over time. I primarily use it for mobile deposits which are super user friendly. Their support is great and responsive as well. Great app!
Johnson Financial has and continues to provide useful value added services and sound financial advice. The bank app is very easy to use and I like the credit services with simulator. Very helpful.
The app (and online) only allow an additional ‘regular’ payments for a mortgage payment. Not only principle only. Principle only payments must be made in person with cash. Not convenient at all. I did ask IT for help (they said I was one of the only few with the issue) but that was weeks ago and never heard back.
Absolutely Love Johnson Bank Online Banking, User Friendly, Easy to Use. Everyone at the Bank is well educated on any issues that I may have with online banking. Thank You
The Johnson Bank app is so simple to use. I use the Face ID which I love for easy access. Immediate access to all of your available, funds, loan payments, etc. It’s one of my favorite apps.
Relocating past bank statements is difficult. Only the most recent statement appears, and I can’t seem to find where I can list the last three or four statements. Generally, speaking, the convenience of online banking is great; 5 stars. My only problem is with statements.
