Great app that functions well. Had some issues linking external accounts but a call to customer service resolved the problem. They are very nice and the account is packed full of shockingly valuable features that honestly put this bank up there with Chase or Citi, if not better!
I’m coming from CapitalOne which has a very well-rounded app experience. One thing I love about it was that I could see my compounded interest at the end of every day, I could also see my APY, whereas, on Laurel Road, you cannot view your current APY nor do you have any idea of the interest amount you’ll be paid unless you calculate it yourself at the end of every day. When I click on my checking or savings account, sometimes the screen just remains white (as if it’s loading), however, it is not loading, you need to click on the screen anywhere, then it will finish loading. Also, CapitalOne doesn’t currently enforce a limit of how much you can withdraw from your savings per month, and with Laurel Road, I’m capped at 7, I believe. I move money around a lot so I do hope this isn’t an issue. In the end, I switched because of the higher APY, and the bank does just what I want it to, I just wish the app were a bit more polished.
I got this bank for having great rates, no fees on most things that matter, and sign-up bonus. But my experience since getting this bank had made me regret choosing to go with a bank that has no reputation. They took around a week (sluggish by today’s standard) to get my debit card to me just for the card to not work half the time. At most retailers, I have to ask them to manually enter the card details or end up having to ask somebody else to purchase it for me and I could send them money on Venmo. With many other cards I’ve had across different iPhones, it takes seconds to verify my card for Apple Pay - Laurel Road makes you call. After 45 minutes on the phone with support, I left without a verification and a nearly useless debit card. Still waiting for them to get back to me. Maybe this bank could be better in the future. The entire app looks like something developed in 2009. Support is hardly offered. May be better off going with a big bank than having to deal with this.
Laurel Road has seemed to lose my last two direct deposit paychecks. After multiple phone calls with them and my HR talking to them as well, the issue is still not resolved and I have not received the paychecks. Laurel Road still says they do not see it after my HR calling them directly and confirming correct routing and bank account info. Some key features are missing on the app such as just an area where we could find the number for customer support for the banking and loans. Had to search that out myself. Processing of transactions and transfers in general seem very slow with this bank. Will edit again if anything gets resolved.
The app itself is great , however at times it takes forever to load on startup. Another thing is at times it doesn’t even load up at all and is blank. It’s actually extremely frustrating because when i feel the need to check my bank account, i cannot at times. I also only primarily use my phone to check all ny bank accounts. Please fix this bug, it seems to be a problem that never stops regardless of new updates. Edit(September 2024): ITS STILL GLITCHING. FIX THE APP. I’m considering a different bank at this point. Not having the app work on the go is too inconvenient for me.
I applied for a Laurell Road High Yield Savings Account and transferred over $200 to test it out. The $200 came out of my checking account but never showed up in my Laurel Road savings account. I thought maybe I needed to wait a bit longer for it to show up, so I didn’t make a complaint right away. The following morning, I got an email saying they weren’t able to open up a savings account for me at the time. Like what?? I transfer over $200 and I no longer have a savings account with you guys?!! This place is definitely a scam. It’s a good thing I did that $200 test before depositing my entire savings account into it!!
I have only been with Laurel Road for two months and I have already accumulated more interest than I have made over 30 years. I am impressed. Join you will be impressed as well!💯✅
I am surprised with how long posting of updated balances takes. The available balance is usually days behind, leading to all sorts of confusion and frustration. The delays in transfers to other banks is also days longer than for other banks. This is the least convenient online banking experience I have had. I would stop using this app today and for good if it didn’t provide such a reduction in my interest rate.
I have been using laurel road for about 2 months. It’s easy to sign up and easy to get started saving. I love that I’m growing my savings. I am also glad that it takes a couple days to transfer my money back to me because then it is a deterrent to keep me from spending it.
I am unable to access my Keybank app once I set up my Laurel Road app and vice versa. Once I redownlod either the Keybank app or the Laurel Road app, the other app does not work. Not sure if because they belong to the same bank, but if possible, can we fix it so both apps can work simultaneously.
I don’t usually leave reviews but these guys have been getting under my skin the last couple of months. I’ve been with them for about 11 months now every time I deposit a check into my account they instantly put a 20 day hold on for no reason and flag at as possibly fraudulent for 11 months straight I’ve been going through this I genuinely hate this bank and hope the absolute worse for them wish I can give 0*
The App is ok. Doesn’t seem very user friendly and seems slow. Transfers are terrible. The customer has no idea the date funds will be available and the transfer happens very slow. There seems to be little investment in this App and it can’t compete with Amex or BoA. If it wasn’t for their slightly higher interest rate on the savings account, I would absolutely not tolerate.
Why does the screen go blank when I try to use the app? I have no access to my information and have to turn off my phone and restart it when this happens.
The app looks nice, is intuitive, and has many good user features, however it gives me a blank white screen constantly. It doesn’t crash, per se, it’ll just never load the screen and then I have to close the app and restart it. Definitely has potential, but it’s unable at times in the current state.
This app allows me to view every aspect of my Laurel Road accounts as well as pay bills and send money via Zelle. Everything is in the app and it simplifies my life!
Over $1000 disappeared from my account, I called them, they said they’d look into it and get back to me in less than 48 hours. It has been WEEKS and I haven’t heard back. At this point I don’t think I’ll be getting my money back but I am surely not going to continue to bank with them since I was robbed by LaurelRoad DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY!!!!
Update 8/16: still broken. So much for “bug fixes”. I see other reviewers saying the same thing. And no, re-installing doesn’t help. Literally just shows a blank error on a blank screen.. never works after logging in. Forced to use website instead.
Not as clean and easy to use as other banks apps I have. Interest rate is not displayed anywhere. Would prefer to just see my account info and rate on the main page and not a bunch of offers etc
I am so upset they restricted my account and then say it’s going to be good but then still have a restriction on the account . I try to call and they say it will be u restricted by a date but then it still is . This makes me want to leave this bank .
App crashes or won’t open constantly. I can never get access and customer service hours are terrible. It’s made me not want to use them for any services.
Can't login since last update 2 weeks ago, have to go through browser. Same email and password combo works on browser. The app is awful even when I can sign in, though.
It allows me to go through my login, but after I agree to the conditions it logs me out every time. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no good. I haven’t been able to access the app at all.
I enter my log in information and I am asked to approve the terms and conditions. I hit “accept” and it logs me out immediately? Tried a dozen times, same result.
I just downloaded the app to monitor my finances. I can’t really say anything good about the app yet because every time I log in, it signs me out involuntarily. Basically I never get to the dashboard upon entering my credentials.
The app works very poorly. Making you log in on web while already on the app to do multiple things. My local credit union has a better app experience. Laurel road abruptly CLOSED my account with no notice. They said they mailed me a check for a considerable balance. At present, I am wondering what’s going to happen to my money. Have zero explanation for why my account was abruptly closed. STAY AWAY.
