Lettuce Grow

I’ve never written a review for an app, but this one deserves it. For those that can’t tell the difference between butter lettuce and regular lettuce or anything else that’s green and leafy, this is for you. And beyond the plant identifier, the information and recipes are pretty awesome, too. What truly blew my mind was the link to “send in for review” - I got a response super quick (within minutes) that told me what my plant was, how old it was, AND when I could harvest it. The second review request I sent in was answered equally fast and contained a link to a video! I’d say it’s the best app of its kind, but I think it may be the only one of its kind. So, yeah, it’s the best!

The system is great, I love it. The App is more annoying than useful. I mostly wanted it for the reminders to fill, fertilize, and check my pH. But, the system and the seedlings arrived on a Wednesday. Lettuce Grow should know this, as they sent it and should have tracked. That’s when I set the system up, so that’s when I do the weekly maintenance. However, the reminder I get is every Friday without fail, which means it’s either two days too late, or five days too early. There doesn’t seem to be any way to adjust this date to your preferred day of the week or to turn it off since it’s useless to get reminded on the wrong day. Gave it two stars as App doesn’t crash much and it does remind me of what I ordered, in case I’ve forgotten. I suppose I could also use it to reorder supplies but am more likely to just use the website for that. As far as it’s primary function, it’s useless.

I thought my Lettuce Grow app was broken. I used to be able to review the latest shipment of seedlings. Previous shipments were also available for review. Now the “Latest shipment” is the first shipment ever placed, from 15 weeks ago. It’s one big sideways scrolling list. All shipments combined. It was more useful when broken into the historical orders by date. When I click on the “more info” link below a seedling, the screen fills with a long error message and then the app quits. Also the alerts are useless. One big list that does nothing. It had to be broken. So I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Same problems. Then I realized that the app had updated to a new version 3 days before. I don’t appreciate this update. It is buggy and far less logical than the previous version. The one request I sent in doesn’t seem to be added. When browsing seedlings to add to the shopping cart, if you view the details of a seedling, there is no obvious, easy way to go back one step to the list you were on, so you can continue to browse other seedlings. You have to go all the way back to the “Shop” link and choose seedlings again, then bypass all the annoying bundles, just to get back to the available seedlings list.

This app makes the whole Lettuce Grow experience even better. It’s really helpful to be able to ID baby seedlings as we can’t always tell what’s what when they’re tiny. I love the other features and quick links too - a definite win for this company!

This app is a disaster, if you try to purchase anything through the app, it continually shows videos doesn’t take you to where you would like to go and is basically a buggy mess. It’s been a while too. You think part of the app that actually generates revenue would be more taken care of. And don’t get me started on how the App automatically adds things to your cart without telling you and if you don’t notice before check out, you’ll be stuck purchasing them and having to deal with returns later, very unethical would be an underlining theme for this company.

Pros: I like that it has my seedlings that are shipped on the app. I love the recipe guide at the bottom of each plant page! The plant info page is just top notch all around!!! Cons: the Plant ID is so-so, sometimes you get the right plant, sometimes it tells you your plant is 3 different plants that it clearly is not, sometimes it can’t identify the plant. (I have plant labels, so I’m not worried about it). This is just a super downer when it’s the biggest feature of the app. The customer help pop up is just in the way. If I need help I can go to the website or through the drop down tab for contact. The welcome message is the DEATH OF ME!!!! No matter how many times I get rid of it, it ALWAYS comes back!!! Like I’ve had my planter and this app forever ... STOP WELCOMING ME!

Everything we try and do on this app does not work. My wife signed up and forgot her password. I downloaded this app and requested a reset email for the password. They said it was sent to my inbox. Nothing there. Nothing in the junk folder either. Dealing with their website is no different. It took us all day to order 18 seedlings with the free extension. Took us all day with frustrations. Love the product but their IT folks must have graduated at the bottom of their class.

I used to keep track in my calendar when I planted and when I harvested. Now the app keeps track of that and it’s the best feature!!

This app is just what we needed to make our farmstand growing experience even better! It’s super easy and intuitive to use. For someone like me who can’t discern the difference between a zucchini and a cucumber, it’s fantastic!

SO cool! It’s a game changer for identifying plants! I use it all the time to figure out which plants are which.

I purchased this app because it focused more on edible gardens. I tried the identification app for a plant I sowed from seed that I forgot to place a marker for and could not provide a result. So I went to the plants that I know what they are and was provide wrong results- garlic = bunching onions, bell pepper = Thai basil. This app is designed to sell you the farm stand tower and supplies to go with it. If your interested in the farm stand then this app might be for you, otherwise don’t bother.

I have one pod of spinach growing on my 24 pod lettuce grow. The app has identified 6 different pods as spinach…. One pod was identified as 99% watercress, I do not have any watercress. Ok, so, the identification is a bit clunky even though it only has to be aware of 250 possibilities. What else can I do with this thing? Well, there isn’t anything to set up correct reminders for maintenance. Oh, I can BUY MORE FROM THE SHOP! This area works perfectly well. No issues! Go figure. Love my lettuce grow but I don’t think the app adds any benefit outside of allowing you to spend more money.

This app used to at least work and be semi-navigable. since the update, there are SO MANY BUGS. Ill set up my farmstand with plants etc one day, then the next everything has changed… Errors and crashing all over the place as well. Please invest in making this app more stable.

Love the plant ID feature? Our son got excited and placed the seedlings without supervision. So we anxiously awaited harvest of, well we didn’t know what! Until now🤗. The recipe suggestions are a welcome treat as well. So excited to get in the kitchen tomorrow. Week 5 and we are ready to eat!!!

Part of the reason bought The farmstand was because of this app that could help guide me but pretty much all I ever get is a message that says there is a problem and to try again later. So far this app has been completely useless. Don’t recommend

It’s not time… It’s not a Merigold! It is some kind of an evergreen hedge! I wish it were Thyme. I am not giving my email address out to a company I don’t know. So I can’t send a picture in for analyst. I do know that what I am trying to identify is a common shrub.

App is knock off of web site so that annoying sales rep popup asking to chat interferes with what you are trying to do. Plant recognition tool is psycho. Told me my tomato plant was 4 other different plants. Tried it with 4 other Lettucegrow seedlings and wrong everytime.

The app is always accessing the camera in the background while it’s open, not just when you move to the part of the app to scan the plants. Also it’s just slow.

The ap does not recognize my order so I can’t track anything. I have 24 plants but the ap says I have zero even after adding my order number repeatedly.

So easy to use! And it is accurate on identifying the plants. Great!

Would like to be able to log into my account but every time I do, I get an error message

I already bought the 36 plant farmstand and am currently growing. So I am a current customer. In short, this app is a big disappointment. For those who want to know more, read on... I didn’t label my seedlings as I placed them in the farmstand, because I knew there was a “Plant ID” tool in the app, unfortunately for me this feature has proved inaccurate on every single one of the seedlings I scanned. There is a pop-up/chat thing in the app that interrupts me over and over (and over and over) asking “Hi there 👋 Quick question. Are you looking to grow your own food?” Duh...that’s why I spent $649 on one of your farmstands. Stop asking. I find this to be a major annoyance. Is this app meant to help your PAYING customers? or is it a sales tactic? To combine the two and not differentiate between someone who is merely browsing your app and someone who has already paid you for a farmstand, is foolish. Even the plant ID “feature” only works if seedlings are IN the farmstand, based on your responses to people saying that feature is constantly incorrect, so it’s not like that “tool” is for anyone EXCEPT your farmstand owning customers, so stop with the interrupting pop-up. Just. Stop. When I shop for seedlings on your app, and I click on an individual seedling to get more information, there’s no way to go “back”...My only option to get back is to click the main “shop” button, Which takes me back to the top of the seedlings list, and generates yet another pop-up/chat window asking “Hi there 👋 Quick question. Are you looking to grow your own food?” (Again...stop. Please.) To shop for supplies is hit or miss. The links for the dolly and the 3rd party lights don’t work, I haven’t tried the others. So, I guess it’s just “miss”. I find the app frustrating, annoying and only marginally useful. At least it was free, unlike my farmstand and seedlings.... I’ve only had the farmstand for a few weeks, so the jury is still out. The seedlings took 5 days to arrive from the time they shipped, more than half we’re wilted and I’ve lost now 20% of them in their first 3 weeks...the jury is still out for your seedling supplier, too. To sum it up in one word: Unimpressed

Never written a review before, zero correct plant id’s out of 22, not good!

Everything I pointed to was some of basil or thyme, it called a lilac tree basil.

Like many others have mentioned, the advertisements are really frustrating and make me want to delete the app. Every time I open the app I get a pop-up to sign up for the news letter, buy more plants, push promotions, etc. If someone has downloaded the app they are already customers and they don’t need to be aggressively advertised to. I think my overall experience with the company has been… iffy. There is so much pressure to get “friends” to buy the product. Even when looking to buy the farmstand many of the “reviews” were people trying to get other to use their discount code in hopes they can get discounts. I had hoped I could get away from the slimy marketing once I purchased the product and downloaded the app but you get pestered there too. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to ask friends to buy the farm stand for that reason.

It says you can order seedling and get recipes - don’t see that on the app! 10/11/19
