Lifeprint Printers

(Sorry if I have any grammar issues!) I got my 2 printers for my birthday. I was in LOVE!! But, this app and printers could use some improvement. What I like I love the idea of printing out your photos and being able to make wall collages, store them forever, and use them as gifts. BUT! The app AND printer is very frustrating sometimes. The Printer I do understand that the photos do take a while to print. But 5-8 minutes!? I don’t understand the wait. The printer also runs out of batter so quickly! I’ll have it at 100%, then after I print 1 photo, it’s down to 47% !? The photos also come out a bit wonky. My head gets stretched out, and it looks like I hit my head on a brick and played with it like slime. The printer out of 5 stars, I’d give it a 2. Out of 10, I’d give it 3 1/2. The App The app is hard to manage sometimes. The idea of making an account to print is stupid. Why would somebody need an account to print photos!? The app also glitches out, and I have to reset it. When a printer dies, it takes me 10 minutes to connect to my other one! Having a theme and a ‘main’ printer is stupid in my opinion. Out of 5 stars, 1 1/2 out of 5. Out of 10, 2/10. My Overall Opinion/Review Lifeprint has it’s pros and cons. It is a lovely idea to store memories and make photos albums. But the printer and app is just a pain. Out of 5 stars, I give it a 2. I got this as a Christmas present this year and was really excited at first. However, I’m not crazy about the fact that you have to make an account to print you photos. I’ve had so many issues with the app so far. If I put more than one picture in the queue, it will only print the first one repeatedly, even if I’ve only selected it to print one copy. I often have to resort to taking the rest of the film out of the printer. Not only that, but to delete a picture from my queue, I have to restart the app completely which is often a huge waste of time. It also hasn’t been letting me print hyperphotos at all. I’ll go through the whole process, but then get a notification saying that it can’t process the image, and to try again in a few minutes. As for the quality of the photos, I personally like the somewhat grainy effect it has for the most part, but for other pictures that are supposed to look very vibrant, the dullness is just inconvenient and annoying. Overall, I enjoy having a way of printing out my favorite pictures, but I wish the development team would do a better job on locating and fixing the bugs.

I have a bad memory, I bought this to be able to print phots and put in my journal to help me remember. I love the hyper photo option. I do not use it often so this “but”is a small one: but, I’ve noticed when I try to crop for certain video fragments, it will not let me print it. I have tried turning it off, uninstalling, resetting whole phone AND printer, nothing. Well boo. I’ve had this problem also when trying to add borders, or pictures. But again, no biggie for me, they are nice perks but not a biggie. My BIGGIE is this- sometimes my pictures print out crystal clear with crisp lines and it’s amazing, then other times they print out grainy. At first I was okay with this, new printer, just working out bugs. But it’s been a while now, and it still does it. I take time with my pictures, especially my children. Why does it look so crisp on the phone but so grainy on the picture? Ok that pisses me off. Overall I like it, but can you work out some of these bugs? It’s be greatly appreciated. <3

The first few uses were great. When it’s fully charged it works just as expected, prints out fast and looks nice. Obviously not expecting the best prints but it works. Wasn’t hard to connect to Bluetooth and the app is easy to use. I haven’t had any issues with that. What I did have issues on is the battery of the printer. I’ll charge it overnight and when I turn it on it’s still not working. It’s not my charger because I’ve tested it on other devices. When it does charge up it doesn’t update on the app and it will still say it’s low battery. Very disappointing especially since you can’t use it while it’s charging. Great idea but this whole thing needs a lot of improvement.

Honestly, I loved the whole concept of it and was willing to try it out, but was disappointed with it overall. I think the printer part is okay, not much to expect from a small printer, the pictures may turn out darker and have more contrast than expected, but it’s not too bad. My biggest problem is with the app though. The queue never erases pictures that have already printed so I always have to manually delete it from there. The app doesn’t seem to let you print more than one picture at a time so I always have to exit and close the app before I print another one. In addition, the hyperphoto aspect doesn’t even work. I’ve printed out the same video multiple times, some with the same thumbnail, some with a different thumbnail, but the videos never seem to play. The printer also loses battery easily. Overall, pretty disappointed by it. I think with a few fixes and updates, it would actually be an amazing app.

The printer is not cheap, and for that money the app should work much better. I’ve never written an app review, but this app is just disappointing. I loved the little printer and I was very excited to get it, but the app makes it frustrating and almost impossible to use. Everytime I go to print a picture it prints the first one twice, even if I set it to just one copy. You have to restart the app the get it to print another picture, and even then it still prints the first picture AGAIN. The app also tells you that the printer needs to be charged even if it is plugged in. It does not hold battery for very long, I always have to plug it in when I use it and spend 20 minutes trying to print 2 pictures because of how glitchy the app is. It wastes the picture papers because it always prints double everytime you print a picture. The app creators need to come out with an update because most people are having the same issues.

This is a great concept but the app is just horrible. I printed a photo and shared with my husband so that he can view it via the app and he keeps getting a message saying “you do not have permission to view this hyperphoto” I’ve made the photo public and even made my profile public and it doesn’t work. As for adding/requesting my husband as a follower, that doesn’t even work! The app just sends links for invitation to the app and that link directs you to the website with a 404 error. Lifeprint needs a serious major update of their software. The whole idea of this is useless without an effective app. I was excited at first but now I’m considering returning the printer. Another thing, the printer itself runs out of battery life very quickly, you have to make sure to keep your charging cable handy, AND have an adapter with you as it doesn’t come with one. The last update of the app was 3 months ago... Sorry Lifeprint, you have to do better!

This has got to be one of the worst apps ever. Considering how much you pay for the printer...i wasn’t expecting it to have these issues. I got this product for Christmas last year...only used it a few times since. Never bought a refill for the film that it came with so yeah..barely used it. Every time I turn it on to print pictures, the app always says I have an update. Ok great, I let it update. I turn it back on and reconnect and ANOTHER UPDATE? Okay...third time..another update?? But this time it just stays at 0%..no progress...15 mins elapsed. The app doesn’t even work. If it doesn’t work, can’t even use the product. Don’t waste your money on this item! You can tell by the other reviews people have complained about this issue since January so it just goes to show how they didn’t prioritize fixing it.

I love the convenience, size, and idea behind this little printer but it falls short on delivery. I tried numerous times to print the hyper photos. It has locked up the app now a dozen times! I uninstalled it, twice, tried to do it without making any edits to the photo and still it did not work. The still photos printed just fine. But the feature of being able to scan and see a 15 second clip of the video from a still image is amazing if it worked. Iwill return it customer service can’t shed any light on this after the holiday weekend. It’s a shame, I loved it.

EDIT: With a firmware update it seems to have fixed most of the problems. Not at it printed 2 more copies of that same photo (totally 5 now) Bought this a year ago and it's been in storage (forgot I had it) went to use it today for a project and the app is broken. It freezes when I try to print, when it does print it doesn't clear the queue and move on to the next print (I now have 3 copies of the same print). The developers need to focus on fixing these issues, the paper for this is pricy and I don't want to waste any more...

Just opened my LifePrint printer and selected a few photos to decorate my office. For whatever reason, the printer will only print the first photo in the cue, and then stalls out. If you turn the printer off and back on, it will only print the first photo. If you uninstall the app and redownload it, it will only print the first photo. You cannot edit or delete photos from the cue. Long story short, I have four identical photos and no way to fix the issue. I’ve reached out to the Lifeprint support team, and we’ll see what they have to say. I’m quite unimpressed so far. The app is not functional or easy to use, the print quality is ok, and the FAQ has not been helpful to me. I do like photo sticker thickness and sticking ability, but that’s it so far. Help!

This app doesn’t work when connected to a China cell network or China internet. Once you click the app, it just gets stuck in the blurry grey loading screen, and never continues. They literally sold this in Apple stores in China, you would think someone would have done the due diligence to check that it actually works in China. Fine, I get on VPN and the app can at least work. It’s tells me I need to update firmware, afterwards, machine will turn off by itself. Except when I turn it back on and reconnect, it tells me I need to download firmware again. This cycle endlessly repeats. No way to print photos. Complete waste of money. I just wanted something simple to print photos. Instead I got garbage.

I had this for about 6 months and it worked perfectly fine at first but then after the first couple of photos it just didn’t do what I wanted it to. I tried to print 4 pictures recently and they were all in the queue but after the first picture it printed my screen froze and it didn’t print anything else. I closed out and opened the app again and it printed the same exact photo twice when I didn’t want that. It wouldn’t let me edit any pictures like it says you can. After I edited a picture I’d press the print button but then the screen would freeze and you couldn’t do anything except close out of the app and start over.

I let it charge all night, didn’t even turn it on this morning, and it’s dead UPDATE: This printer only has one minor problem, and it’s the contrast. Other than that, it’s perfect. I was skeptical about this because of the majority of the reviews, but I love it. Idk what was wrong with everyone else’s printers, mine works fine, and the app is actually really easy to use, I definitely recommend buying this, it’s worth it!

I NEVER write reviews for apps but I feel like I need to stand up for this one. A lot of people are complaining about the app but everything works for me! Yes, there are bugs and it freezes sometimes but you HAVE to give these developers some credit. I am a software engineer and this stuff is hard, especially augmented reality. So for my final opinion, the app could use a couple bug fixes but do not let that stop yourself from getting a life printer!

I got the printer as a Christmas gift and I honestly wish they would have just saved their money. The quality of the prints are really bad. They make all the pictures look like a grainy flip phone picture from 2008. The app has so many errors I can’t even keep count. And the whole “picking a frame from a video to print out and then see the video” thing just seems complicated and pointless. If you want to see the video, just watch the video lol. It’s also annoying that you have to sign up for the app just to print a photo. Another password I’ll never remember for an app that just takes up space on my phone. Save your time and money and avoid it.

I was so excited about this product. When I first bought it and downloaded the app it worked (about 3-4 weeks ago). Now? I can’t login to the app making this printer useless. This phone, another phone (that was previously able to connect) and nothing. I can’t login with an email nor through Facebook. Even making a new account doesn’t work. I reached out to customer service. They responded to my problem within hours requesting more info, which I sent. I followed up after week of silence with them asking for it again. Sent again. It’s been over a week and nothing. About to return the printer to find something that actually works.

Received the Lifeprint as a gift and was excited to try it however I am very disappointed with the results. App is HORRIBLE. I had to keep quitting out of the app before printing a new photo. Also, if you don’t delete a photo from the queue right away it prints twice for some reason? Quality of the photos when printed are BAD. I was expecting some difference since that is normal for any photo printer however this was just ugly. The top of each photo had a weird fade as if it ran out of ink and all photos had a blue tint to them for some reason. Grainy and bad quality prints overall. Extremely disappointed and upset I can’t return. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this app. I just received my printer two days ago. The printer I chose was $160 or $140 not including printing paper which is not cheap to me. Prior to purchase there was absolutely no mention that my purchase and ability to print photos or Hyperphotos was contingent upon whether or not the app was overwhelmed or busy!?! In the manual and instructions there zero mention of the apps issues which quite frankly is deceiving to consumers. I hope there is another way to print the photos whiteout using the app otherwise I’ll be returning my printer ASAP. The problems I have listed are not new and have been addressed by other consumers!

I really dislike this app. I edit my photos outside of the app and when I go to print them I have to go through a long series of prompts to edit it again, after the app has reverted my image to the original, removing all my previous edits. It freezes all the time, forcing me to hard close it, losing all my edits, and starting over. I finally got one photo printed and it’s poor quality. I was really hoping this printer would be good but poor printing quality and an infuriating app makes this a major bummer of a purchase.

I got this for Christmas from my grandma. I was looking at reviews for the app. All I saw were 1 stars. “The email didn’t work” “the quality is terrible” etc... but I downloaded it, connected my printer to Bluetooth, registered my email, and created my account. Nothing ever lagged for me. I printed my photo and the quality was fine. So idrk what happened for you guys, it worked fine for me. 🙂🙂🙂

Ive had my printer for quite a while now and loved it. Lately every time I start printing a message will come up saying we are busy try again later. If my wifi is good and i have my pictures then it should have nothing to do with them. Just like with my wireless printer, if the connection good between my computer and the printer, should be no reason it should have anything to do with them. Not sure what’s changed but getting really tired of this all of a sudden.

I honestly don’t write many reviews but using this printer and App are by far the worst and most frustrating experiences I’ve had with tech in a LONG time. My printer is stuck printing the same photo for an hour now with no way to delete the job from its queue. I’ve tried deleting the app, unpairing the Bluetooth and nothing works. The printer was charging all night long but the second I go to print it’s out of battery. The app is clunky and has frozen up on me multiple times. Do not waste your money on this.

I have consistent issues with printing. Pictures don’t clear from the queue after printing so I have to delete them or they print over again any time I open it, which wastes the paper. The app freezes when attempting to turn off hyperphoto to print a still. Those are just a few recent issues, but there have been more. It is unendingly frustrating to have things print when I didn’t want them to or not print when I do and having to spend way too much time trying to work around things to just get a picture to print. Really disappointed.

The printer itself is fine & prints good quality photos for the size & aspect of it. The problem I’m having is with the app. When I go to print a photo, sometimes it doesn’t upload the image, so I’ll have to cancel & close the app and retry. If that still doesn’t work, I have to completely uninstall the app for it to work again. If I exit the app then I have to start all over because it goes back to not printing or just hanging out in the queue and not doing anything. It’s very frustrating!!!

Worked for a little while but I realized that the picture I printed was cropped weird so I went to print it again but now it keeps printing the same picture over and over of something I printed years ago and every time I turn it off and on again or disconnect and reconnect turn off Bluetooth turn on Bluetooth it wont stop and used up an entire sleeve of my paper. I looked up the problem online and one other person had the same issue but nobody cared enough to find a solution. Thanks

I bought this printer for Christmas. Unfortunately the printer is 100% reliant on the app in order to be used and the app is a piece of garbage! Freezes constantly, crashes constantly. It takes me about half an hour to print one print with the constant opening and closing and restarting the app. Photos seem to be OK but the hyperphotos (which is why I bought this printer because any printer will print photos but this is the only one that would print “videos“) are almost impossible to print. The app just cannot handle video clips. At this point I feel like I bought an $80 paperweight.

I only got to use my printer 4 times before the app kept glitching. It freezes, it loses the pictures during uploads, you can’t delete an upload before it’s done. So when the photo is lost and not uploading, it will not print anything else because the imaginary photo that will never upload has to be first. My queue is stuck processing. I like the printer a lot but unfortunately the app needs work.

My sweet husband got this for me for Christmas and I have fought with it unsuccessfully for 5 months to be able to take and then print a picture. The quality is fine. What you would expect from an instant camera. My frustration is that the app NEVER works. Either the photos stay in the queue forever or they print the same photo over and over. Now it keeps telling me I have to update firmware. Over and over. I have restarted, uninstalled, everything I can think of. Nope. I really don’t feel like spending an hour trying to print my “instant” photo.

Such a great idea, but so disappointing. The printer does not keep a charge. Every time I use it I have to charge it up and then it’s still even though the light is green will not print. Extremely frustrating. Also, I have to change the color and brightness of my photographs because if I don’t they’re dark and very bluish. I can sometimes avoid this problem by adding more orange tones And now there’s a new problem: it says, error, can’t fetch media. The frustration is through the roof with this thing.

This os a fabulous app... I just need this to access my google photos because I have all my photos saved on google photos and I have no photos on the regular photo app. I love this I would give it a five star rating but I can’t print the photos I want.😭😭 so please find a way for me to access google photos. Please

The only thing bad about the app is that it will say paper jam. Even if you don’t have a paper jam. The developers said on their website, “There is no way to fix a paper jam, except contacting us.” Which is false, all you have to do is uninstall the app and then redownload the app. Which will get on your nerves, if it happens a lot, but it fixes it!

I love my printer but it would take me hours to just print maybe 20 photos!! I have the same problems as everyone else!! Now I am having another issue where I can’t delete a picture in my queue an fit just keeps printing that over and over. I have deleted the app several times hoping it would take care of it but it won’t. I used to be able to close the app and go back in and then I was able to delete it and now I can’t even do that!!!! I think it is time to look for a new printer with a better app!

I got this for Christmas and was barley able to try it today and I did all of the steps right to set up the printer. It only prints the first picture in my queue and not the rest even when I’ve only selected for one to be printed. And I do not know how to delete Pictures from my queue and can’t find any where to show me how and I did some research on this printer and it cost a pretty penny for it not to work properly. I don’t know how to get this app to work and print the rest of my photos in my queue. I’m highly disappointed.

I absolutely love this not only can you print out photos but using the app you can bring them to life and there’s awesome filters and on the back of the printed out photo if you takeoff the wrap there’s a sticker so you can stick it to whatever you want without nails or glue 100% recommend love it ❤️

Lifeprint is honestly such a great idea and it’s such a shame the app has some many issues, for some reason it prints multiple copies, and i have to exit the app for each picture which seems like much more work than it should be, if the app is improved this deserves 5 stars.

I just downloaded the latest version and I’m loving all the new features in the app! The improved print quality, new photo editing features, and how much faster it’s loading...simply amazing. But, now I want the Harry Potter version of the printer to open all of those features too!

Documentation on how to use “features” is virtually nonexistent and some of them don’t seem to work or are non-responsive. When I hit the print button on certain pictures the app freezes and I have to close and restart. I just downloaded the most recent version and this issue still exists. I feel badly for my daughter who spent a lot of money to gift this to me this past Xmas.

I love this printer and have used it often! But there is a glitch in it where the que will not delete after it’s done. I have downlod the app many times. 😞. Would love this glitch fixed! The printer’s app often needs reloading.

I’ve used the app and printer for several years and LOVED it. I started having issues in December 2021 and have been trying to get a resolution to the situation with no luck ever since. I can print just fine but the image isn’t in my feed and so there is no connection to the video. I’d very much like to see if I can get this fixed so I can continue to use the product. I’ve wasted quite a lot of paper trying to get this fixed.

We had high hopes for this product and its accompanying app, but we were very much disappointed. The print quality from the small printer is just ok. I can understand since it’s a small printer. However, the app leaves much to be desired. Not only would it not play the video from the printed photo, it would not even play the video from the sample photo on the product manual. Lastly, my emails and messages via Twitter went ignored. We returned immediately. Don’t wast your money.

I watched the videos, followed everything. I’ve had this machine for 2-3 years, hopeing the app will update and get better but it doesn’t actual do what it’s supposed to do with hyper photos. If you just want to print photos, just get a Fujifilm Instax or a photo printer. I’ve only managed to get the Hyperphoto to work on 2 of about a couple dozen photos I’ve printed. And I had to use videos taken from this app to get it to work. Not very useful.

I’m having trouble understanding why the app is STILL a disaster after over a year of using and printing. It prints multiple pictures and wastes my picture paper. I found away around it but it’s extremely tedious and it should be that way. The concept is very cool and considering the price of the device they should be able to afford someone to make the improvements on the app and I’m confused as to why there haven’t been any updates to fix any of the issues.

When I bought this thing, I chose paper that was from a list of compatible sizes for this printer. Low and behold, $100 later, it absolutely does not print the smaller sizes. An absolute scam. I used the few bigger sizes the printer came with. Those worked, although half of them came out terribly despite cropping all my photos to their 2:3 specification, it cut off the sides, so you have to manually edit to have a bit of "safe" white border so nothing gets cut off. Of course, the app offers zero editing, and zero preview of what the actual print will look like. So you'll be wasting a ton of this expensive paper with trial and error. Customer support does not exist. I'm stuck with this piece of junk. DO NOT BUY.

The quality of the pictures aren’t that great and every time I want to print a picture I have to close the app and open it again. It also will also print the previous picture again even when canceled or deleted. A lot of my papers get wasted from multiple prints when I only want one copy.

Every time I turn printer on it keeps printing the same picture over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, see how annoying that is. Waste of time and money. I had hi hopes for this but I won’t buy new paper because I all ready have 9 of the same pictures of my cat. I don’t need any more. Thanks for that, I made a photo album and put all the pictures In it now my friends think I’m obsessed with my cat.

App is hard to use. The ability to delete a photo from the queue consistently disappears. I had to restart the app and occasionally my phone in an attempt to be able to delete things from the queue multiple occasions. Because of this, my printer printed EIGHT of the same picture that I tried to print ONE of. Very unhappy. Photos are nice quality, but app is horrible to use.

I received the printer as a gift and it took a long time to charge as well as when I tried to print something the second time it prints the photo I first printed again!! You have gotten many reviews on that and you need to fix it! I believe this is a full waste of money and the developers are terrible so fix this app and maybe you can make some money . Do not purchase this and I will be upset if you don’t fix your problems 😡

I have tried to make a new account upon downloading the app, but I never get past Step 2 of sign up which involves getting a verification email. The app says there’s an error when I try to have the email resent. I then made an account through my Facebook but I couldn’t get past the same step. This time the app won’t let me accept the terms and conditions. I’m very disappointed in what appeared to be a high quality printer hindered by its low quality app.

First time use and got the same queue problem someone else mentioned. The first photo I selected is in queue forever no matter how many time it is printed, and when I upload a new photo it prints the first one in queue for another time. The quality of the picture is horrible, similar to the Polaroid 690 I have which is manufactured 20 years ago, another portable printer I have prints in far better quality.
