Too limited and the Face ID ability is suddenly gone.
The mobile app should have everything the web app does. Especially linked accounts. Also, suddenly, I cannot use Face ID to log in any longer. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still cannot enable it. My recollection is that there was a setting for Face ID in LPL settings that is no longer there. My recollection may be incorrect.
I’ve been using this app for 6 months + now. It does exactly what it’s set to do. Easy to see accounts, holdings, balances, etc. Easy access to documents and any other connected software advisors use. Most of the negative reviews are from an older version of the app. LPL has made major progress on the app and has released plenty of updates since then. The app works just as well if not better than any other broker dealers/advisory app out there. LPL has prioritized development of this app and it shows in the improved interface and connectivity. I expect it to continue to improve.
So when my broker switched from WF to being on his own this app became my means to access my account. I feel snail mail would be better. First, the number of times it has frozen or crashed exceeds anything acceptable these days. Second, the delay is realtime pricing is sometimes more than 24 hours as it was this morning. Third, sometimes Face Recognition login works and sometimes it doesn’t. Maybe this is an Apple thing, IDK. Beyond these problems the organization and presentation of data is just terrible. No reason gains/losses can not be viewed across multiple holdings at the same time rather than having to dig into each stock. I wanted to give it zeros stars but felt it deserved at least one for effort.
I’ve been Account View for awhile now and it works pretty well. I use FaceId and I’ve never had an issue logging in. Negative reviewers need to realize that this app isn’t for a self service investment firm. It is for clients of independent advisors (who use LPL as their custodian). It gives you the ability to check your balances, deposit checks, etc. If you want other more in-depth info, contact your advisor directly and surely he/she will set up a visit.
I’ve used this app for 2 years, while it is reliable and fast, it could be so much more useful. I would like to see in positions, gains (losses) average price, short/long, etc. there is massive white space to display, but instead I have to go each stock and several screens to get to gains/losses. It should be shown in the main screen, Fidelity has it. In fact I may just push to relocate my account to Fidelity so as to have better access.
When it works it’s a good app. However one day I can view my accounts and the next day the screen is black. It never comes back so I have to delete the app then download it again, log in again and then wait to see how long before it goes black again.
The app was added to the App Store while it was still under development. So people were downloading it before it was intended to be used. Pay mind to reviews from earlier in the year, as they were effected by this.
I have been using app successfully for two weeks. Just got message that it needs to be updated and when I clicked okay it said I need permission from my Advisor to access it. 🤬
Blind using voiceover. Last week could access my statements for viewing and downloading; now message saying cannot retrieve at this time, try again later, with your supposed techs saying there’s no problem on their end, when don’t even know if they are using the iPhone app! this is inexcusable. Please fix!
Horribly bad app that constantly needs updates. Numbers don’t reflect accurate information, running any report you have to cycle through every month because you can’t use a drop down for the year, and best of all they gave wayyy to much real estate to depositing more $$$$ tell us what you really care about. Absolute failure of an app.
In the years I have had this app, I have only been able to log in 5% of the time. To reset a PW seldom works and having to connect with an account agent to do so is cumbersome and inconvenient. Today is just another ex of not being able to access my acct despite the recent update. It is so bad, I will be moving my entre account after 20+ years. It is ridiculous!!!!!!!!
My login credentials for Account View are supposed to work on the mobile version too, but they don’t. Tech support says my representative has to fix the issue and he doesn’t know how. So, the mobile app is useless for me. Quite the opposite of my other brokerage accounts. Fidelity has a great mobile app that’s very user friendly and it opens with Face ID.
The title pretty much covers it. 50% of the time when pressing the screen to open the app. I get a black screen, the only remedy is to delete and reinstall the app. This works for, maybe a week or so. Then the problem repeats. This bug has been here for a while, I’ve updated the app a several times in the last months. PKEASE FIX IT.
I love this app. My Face ID works fine. The box with the graph is allli need. Vanguard doesn’t show me where I’ve come from it only project from today forward!😡
App is a kluge. Latest update removed fingerprint login. Often app displays different data than browser website. This is a financial application and the developers and product managers should treat it with the reverence and respect that it deserves. LPL should be embarrassed by the limited functionality, poor usability, and often conflicting data (from website).
Trying app again after a year. Last time terrible 1 star. Some bugs out but still 2 stars. Custom on chart doesn’t work. Defaults to 2 years. Still can’t get to cost basis or lifetime gains/losses Graphics on chart an f. Only consolation is I can see stock holdings and total value today
I use to be able to use biometrics to log on… about 9 months ago it disappeared. I was told to reload the app. So I did again now for the third time… so I am told it is my fault… but guess what their app does not have a request in my apple bio folder… Crappy app, you all are making your reps look stupid….
I’ve been successfully using this app for a while now. Tried to login tonight, it says I need to “upgrade” the app in order to login. But when it takes me to the App Store the typical “Upgrade” icon isn’t there, just the “Open” icon. How can I upgrade the app to the latest version if the icon isn’t there?
Won’t take the password. Tried “forgot password” to reset password and I’ve tried more than a dozen times to create passwords with 8 characters, upper case, lower case, numbers, special character…….. and it won’t accept ANY of them. I have an account on the website, but I’m giving up on the stupid app!!
The app works for 1-3 days and turns into a black screen this issue has Ben noted for the last six months I am surprised to see the comments earlier and this has not been fixed yet
Something is wrong. I have tried resetting my password using all the parameters required yet it keeps saying I am not meeting the criteria. Very frustrating. Worked great up till a few weeks ago. Not cool-should be able to check my account.
You’d think they could develop an app that works. Doesn’t open with face recognition. When I enter login credentials it keeps saying , ‘system unavailable. Please try later.’ But it’s constantly unavailable
Since the new app update I keep on getting stuck in a loop where it tells me there is a new version, but I have already downloaded the new version. I have deleted and reinstalled the app but still is not working.
This has been an absolute mess. Why even have an update notification I’d the app can’t update? Why don’t you take this down and allow us to view our balances under the current app?
I’m having the same problem as everyone else mentioned! Just won’t let me into my account after updating multiple times! What happened to this app? Used to work great!
Get an error telling me to update app, and continues to loop back and do nothing. Would be nice if you sent us info about this change with instructions. Now I can’t get into on account on my app at all.
I downloaded this app so I could check balances regularly. For the past two weeks they have had an announcement that the balances shown are not correct. See title.
Worst app I’ve encountered, ever. It only works intermittently, sometimes not at all. LPL has some deep web site problems, too. Painfully slow, illogical, and generally unusable when time is money.
It says I need to update the app, so I click OK and it brings me to the App Store. Then at the App Store, it says open the app, and it brings me back to the app, and then the app says I need to update the app, and it brings me back to the App Store. Rinse and repeat.
