1) The controller itself is on par with the popular console controllers. 2) The cool thing about the controller and this app is that it will remember all your settings and you don’t have to select or connect a game or device. 3) Connects directly to your WiFi hub so minimizes lag for cloud gaming and also can connect to your PC or console - MVP of controllers and this companion app works as intended.
I used to have the Luna service but got rid of it after a few months I just didn’t have the time to enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. My Luna controller never seems to update its firmware on its own it has taken me months to figure out how to get it done because the instructions I keep getting say the controller updates when connected to the app on my phone. This never happens I finally found instructions on how to reset my controller then add it back through the app and the firmware updated finally. I have not been able to use either one of my Luna controllers for months because I hate playing wired in. I have pets that will get tangled up in the cords because when you play wired in you also have to play with headphones. This should be an option that can be turned off in the controller app.
The play isn’t too terrible for what your playing on. I'm relatively surprised at how Well it works on something that fits in the palm of my hand. So No it is not perfect but it is playable. Chat feature works but they have a major Miss on not allowing the bluetooth feature to tap into the headset microphone it doesn't even have the option. Ive made a formal complaint? But it didn’t gets fixed in the last update. Reach out to them and ask for this fix, help me, help luna, make this better, Ill be glad to post an update when this is fixed.
Doesn’t work over Bluetooth on iPad Pro with BT 5.0
The controller and app work fine over WiFi. But it doesn’t work at all if you don’t have WiFi available. The app appears to detect my controller, though there is no language on the app that says “controller connected” which would be a big help for troubleshooting. But the Luna games do not recognize the controller on iPad Pro unless both are connected to WiFi. At this point, until this feature is fixed, Luna is a ripoff. I’ve reset the controller. Deleted and renown loaded the app. “Forgot the device” on Bluetooth. Restarted the controller. Restarted the iPad. No dice. 2018 IPad Pro with BT 5.0 and iOS 14.6.
I’ve had this fire stick and controller set up for a couple years and have loved it. I’m not a huge gamer and play occasionally. But I also travel and stay in hotels quit a bit. Always bring my fires stick to watch my movies and now bring my controller to play on my down in hotel rooms and at home.
I’m going to try this as my Stadia replacement but I hope they change their subscription model. I wish their was a subscription for all the games instead of just groups. I wish we could unsubscribe as easily as we can subscribe to a game playlist. I hope Luna could release their app to the LG Store.
The reason why I’m giving this three stars is because Luna needs to update their app. I can’t even access it because it’s broken and too many bugs. They last updated it 2 months ago and that’s too long. Luna PLEASE READ MY REVIEW AND UPDATE YOUR APP. I got the controller but I can’t even access the app to connect it so currently the stupid controller is useless. Please fix these Bugs so I can use the controller.
Maybe the Luna controller is *”on par with other game controllers “ but I was trying to get the app version of the controller to connect with my tv and it seemed like it was not ever going to work . Either these Luna people need to make their controller app work properly or I’m going to not use the Luna app on my smart tv.
Was a bit painful setting up. Something like this should take 5 min max, not 20. Instructions don't explain all the settings you need on your device e.g. your phone before you get started. Don't know why I need location services on to "locate my wifi network". I've never had any app, device, whatever that needed location services to find my network. This should be much easier.
On the introductions it says get the app to play on the cloud but I don’t know where that is. Bluetooth doesn’t work with Xbox or PlayStation and it doesn’t work with my phone. It connects but what’s the point if it doesn’t work. Why buy a 60$ controller if you need to pay 6$ a month to even use the controller and the app doesn’t even exist! Please fix these issues.
Which I thought was pretty weird. Cause why make an app and it can’t be utitlized to play the game on your tv? They need to speak with the developers and fix this issue! I couple t get pass the press start to continue screen, which was very disappointing.
Overall “Luna” is a cool concept . It looks like it has nice games as well. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to sync the mobile controller up to my fire stick on the tv. The app isn’t working at all. There is no sign of connection neither are there any instructions .
Love the ability to connect directly over Wi-Fi. But that only helps me when I’m at home. But I have consoles for that so I need something portable, on my phone, where there is no Wi-Fi. When connected, it limits using the controller on iOS to only games on Luna. NO GAMES NATIVELY ON YOUR IPHONE/IPAD WILL WORK WITH THIS CONTROLLER. Please fix this compatibility issue as it’s not the case with other operating systems.
Downloaded this app so my son could play Sonic Mania, only to experience exceptional disappointment as the lag makes a game like Sonic unplayable. But honestly, I never had any expectations for Luna (Stadia vibes), so saying I was disappointed is not entirely accurate. If I could give this app -5 stars, I would. Just use the crappy fire stick instead; same result without draining your phone battery.
It would be great to use the Backbone Controller on Luna
Having different controller options would be good. The backbone was an expensive controller, and for the very limiting Apple iPhone at that. So adding Backbone controller support would be a good option as I would be able to use your cloud services anywhere without bringing around a huge clunky controller and potentially dropping a $1000 phone. Please consider.
This controller is consistent when it comes to staying disconnected. It baffles me that which each update, the random dropouts keep increasing and you have to go back to the desktop screen before the app registers the controller again. I end up using my computer keyboard most of the time since this junk almost never works
Please actually read my comment we want controller support. There are thousands and thousands of us. It’s a no-brainer at this point please add it all your players will appreciate it and be very thankful. Please consider updating your services so you can retain your customer base. I think this is probably something important you guys should look into
Absolute worst thing ever created about to be my 13th reason
Thought that I could help heal my inner child by finally finishing playing this game but the quality is so horrendous it makes me want to break my phone in half. Didn’t work terrible for the first day now third day in feels like I’m using McDonalds wifi to power this. Thank you for piling on 👍🏽👍🏽
I can’t get Anbernic Linux to finish pairing on the Luna app. I have tried everything. It should work. Sometimes it saves only as a MAC address in the app but most times after Linux says success and saves, the controller never completes it
This thing is trash it doesn’t work with the gov it doesn’t connect at Al what so ever it takes so long to sign in then the controller on your phone doesn’t even work trash don’t use this it is a waste of time 👎👎👎👎 if I could give it 0 stars I would not I would give it a negative 50 this is trash just a waste of time
It says that it’s a mobile controller, but you need a controller connected to your phone. I thought that you could just connect the mobile controller to the TV so that me and somebody can play. But you need a controller and I don’t get it because if you need a controller, why do you need your phone? It doesn’t make sense to me at all.
You can connect the controller via Bluetooth on iOS 14.3 and 14.5 beta. The app crashed immediately, but if you hold the action button(circle) and B together for 3 seconds it becomes discoverable. Just connect and start playing.
I tried to use it on each game I have on my iPad but it does not work. I have to pay 6 dollars each month and also buy a 60 dollar controller that does not even work with BlueTooth and it say it does. It is a scam. Do not recommend buying.
Have been trying to troubleshoot connecting to the Luna Controller app. I go through the authentication phase, connect to network, and then error out. I’ve contacted support and received the same answer multiple times and then was escalated to another associate who just told me to make sure my app is updated
I bought this a few months ago and the controller is completely unusable because of massive stick drift. This drift occurs on Luna itself and when using the controller on Steam. I was such a supporter of Luna but not anymore. Thanks for the paper weight! If I could leave 0 stars I would.
I spent the last hour not on family dinner trying to figure out how to do that but it would not work it makes you work hard for nothing I bought so many app and in the end it didn’t work so please fix this
This app apparently requires your location all the time to function. It recognizes the controller but won’t show in the list of available controllers. The location requirement seems very invasive. Why does it even need it?
This controller would be AMAZING if only the Bluetooth on it actually worked. It connects to in Bluetooth settings for iPhone, but it's not recognizing it as a controller which defeats the purpose of what I wanted to use it for.
It takes more time to set the controller up every time I want to play something than what it’s worth.. horrible firmware and no consistency. I’ve wrestled with this controller for 6 months and I’m going to just get a generic Bluetooth controller at this point.
The app crashes every time you try to open it and add the controller. Controller appeared to turn on and connect, but the app itself won’t open to connect controller. Bugs need to be fixed within the app because it is a paperweight currently.
