Macatawa Bank’s mobile app has always been reliable and secure. The addition of financial tools has been especially helpful with personal budgeting. The mobile check deposit is convenient. Overall, this a a good banking app and has continued to add more helpful features.
The mobile experience with this bank is honestly so frustrating and annoying that I do not even enjoy banking with Macatawa. I’ve been with them for almost 15 years and it’s to the point where I am going to switch. Their app is archaic they refuse to update to the same standards as every other bank. logging in is annoying and takes a full 90 seconds to authenticate for no reason, the app is extremely glitchy and is always down and to do anything you have to call customer service when they’re open. They have no actual customer service on the app like every other banking service. They need to get the 21st-century. don’t even bother responding to this comment telling me to call you because you know in our completely aware of the issues with this app, fix it stop telling us to call you. The shortcomings of this bank are honestly beyond embarrassing.
This app is not so easy to use . When you use bill pay the time a check is cut and sent is up to 9 day. It’s hard to move around and see what is bills you have out waiting to be payed. You can’t send money to a persons bank account from this bank to an other bank even if you have the information for it . I have not found a away to do it. If you have multiple accounts with the same company you can’t see the different account numbers you have entered and what account number you are trying paying. There is no easy way to add messages t your check if you want t add the reference number from a bill t it.
They changed their transfer system to Bill pay which is a huge mistake. I hate waiting 2 weeks for a simple bank transfer. It takes at least a week for the transaction to get accepted and then it has to go through a slow Ach which is taking forever too. I’m considering switching banks as all my money is unavailable now that it has to get tied up for a whole pay period. Ridiculous. Update. They don’t tell you to use their main website to transfer under Bill pay. It’s still slower, but it’s 4-5 days verses 2 weeks.
Love your app !! It is so easy to maneuver and gives you the ease to look at your transactions with the touch of your screen. Please don’t change a thing !! No matter what the so called experts tell you, change is not always necessary. There’s an old adage that says: “ If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it “
I like the app. It’s easy to use. To check on the balance or if certain items have been paid for. The only thing I don’t care for is to change my password every year. I know it’s a security thing, but it’s a new thing to remember.
Just opened new accounts and found out this app has no way to track a check against pending so your available balance does not include the outstanding check. This is very important for online banking, and it is almost like they want overdraft fees… I did reach out to customer service and they confirmed their app does not have this important feature. I let them know I will be cancelling my accounts.
This app seems to be confused half of the time when I go to open it. The login screen will be one of two. The first one is basic and the second allows for finger ID and has a little more advanced looking screen. I give it a 3 for this reason. I have to close out the app at least 3 times before the second screen actually pops up.
I love the app, I was able to raise my credit score by tracking my spending habits and watch them better, and cash back is an excellent way to spend without spending your money.
I had some updates on my phone and lost my fingerprint access. I went on the app and within a minute I was back using the secure access. Great app for mobile banking.
We love the Ap to keep an eye on our accounts. Easy to review deposits and withdraws plus transfer funds between accounts including business credit cards.
The best service! I do all my banking online…and the app is easy to understand even for an old (70yo) like me…with a little help from son…and customer chat is just a click away. Love it!
We have several accounts at Macatawa, due to our having minor children in the home. The app allows us to monitor and conduct transactions with all the accounts in a secure way. I highly recommend it.
The app is very nice and gives accurate info on the banking details and are able to access pretty much everything here, super easy to access and reliable.
Very user-friendly website with many excellent features. The one I appreciate most is the transfer feature in the menu. Explore it to find the best of modern banking.
We were totally caught off guard when we got a notice that we were overdrawn. We don’t check our account very often and was quite surprised to find out they take $10 out every month if you don’t have a certain balance
This app would be great if being able to log in was consistent. More often then not, it freezes up so I can’t log in. Also it would be nice to be able to get a glance at my balances on my Apple Watch. LMCU has this option and it’s so nice.
App doesn’t let you go to accept new terms and can’t find a way to get to them. Have to log into a computer for them to come up. The App won’t let you submit bills until you do.
I have another bank account which I used thumbprint before and now facial ID on my phones. Macatawa always has unexpected problems, the facial ID isn’t working now and I’ve had to change my password so many times. My other bank account which is a well known big bank, I never run into this. It’s a pain.
The App itself is not bad but the login process still needs improvement. iOS requires finding your password in keychain rather than using Face ID directly. They should be using the full capability of the OS to make the user experience as good as possible.
I enjoy having my password saved and using face ID for convenience. For whatever reason, this app continuously drops my ability to use face ID almost on a weekly basis. I don’t see why this is necessary.
