This could have been a great app if it weren’t for the fact that you have to continue pressing the teeny string buttons at the very bottom of the screen while avoiding the ads right above them. Going with another app to avoid hitting the ads.
The picture shows an instrument and the notes to click to tune it. The real app has an ad by the notes and unless you have tiny fingers, you click the ads when trying to tune your mando. Look at all the empty space on the screen they could have put the notes to push. Nothing is free my friends.
Sure, it works, insofar as it will play G D A E for you to match, but you have to tap the phone each time to get a note. As anyone who has ever tuned anything knows, you need several hits. So, you have to move your pick hand to your phone and back constantly, which is a ridiculous ergonomic. Thanks for trying, but no thanks. Useless.
The app is fine, but you can’t turn off the ads. It the ads could be turned off or a premium paid then this app would be great. Unfortunately, the ads continue, and are completely distracting. I don’t recommend anyone downloading this app unless you enjoy ads.
It's perfect. It works great. There are no bells and whistles which is great because it's wonderfully practical. Click G, D, A, E and it plays the note. To the people having trouble with the sound, it won't play if your phone (as in ringtone) is on silent. Turn the ringer on, then the tone will play.
I was expecting an ap does the work for you, "listens" to your mandolin and tells you when you're right. But, it just plays a good clean note. It forced me to develop an ear quickly. Very happy looking no further for a tuner.
Got a mandolin for Christmas and couldn't tune it so left it aside for MONTHS. Then I stumble upon this wonderful app that gives me the confidence to get started! Thanks :)
It was a pretty good tuner, and I used it and it worked, but now the stupid update comes and the add covers the buttons and I keep in hitting the add. Find a different one. Mandolin companion is a GREAT one. Plus it has chords if you didn't now any.
