5 STAR
I recently purchased the Marshall Stanmore III Speaker, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. From its classic, retro design to its powerful, crystal-clear sound, this speaker is a must-have for any music enthusiast. One of the standout features of the Marshall Speaker is its design. It has that iconic Marshall look, with a textured vinyl covering, vintage-inspired fret grille, and the unmistakable Marshall logo emblazoned on the front. It’s not just a speaker; it’s a piece of art that adds a touch of rock and roll to any room. But the real magic happens when you turn it on. The sound quality is truly exceptional. The speaker delivers a rich, full-bodied sound with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. Whether you’re listening to rock, pop, hip-hop, or classical music, the Marshall Speaker delivers an immersive listening experience that will blow you away. Another great feature of the Marshall Speaker is its connectivity options. It has Bluetooth connectivity, so you can easily stream music from your phone, tablet, or computer. It also has a 3.5mm input, so you can connect non-Bluetooth devices, and a USB port for charging your devices. Overall, I can’t recommend the Marshall Speaker highly enough. It looks great, sounds amazing, and offers fantastic connectivity options. Whether you’re a music lover, a design aficionado, or just someone looking for a high-quality speaker, the Marshall Speaker is sure to impress.

How to connect
Ok, I will share how to connect. 1) download this app. 2) Turn on bluetooth of your i-phone. 3) The app will connect with the speaker automatically.(you can see in the app) 4) Push the source button for 2 seconds. The red light will flicker. 5) connect your i-phone with the speaker. There will be connection sound. 6) enjoy your music. 7) actually, you can find all the tips in the app's help. I think some people didn't follow the tips and just left the wrong reviews. check it please! It is an awesome speaker!

Effectively useless
First let me say, the app is not bad. I haven’t experienced any bugs, more just a lack of features. When you go to the explore page it just has a line up of other products which is fine. But when you press on one of the products it opens up a mobile page for the website. There is no way to go back to the app without closing it and going from the start. I will compare this app and it’s features to the UE brand. The UE app allows you to turn on the speaker from the app, which I consider it to be the most interesting feature. This app allows you to pick from only 3 preset EQ settings and none of them are a customizable setting. You don’t really need the app unless you are going for a specific sound while listening to music that you can’t get with just the speaker alone.

It’s really too bad…
I truly love the sound of my new Woburn II Marshall speaker, and in fact, I love it so much that I went out, and bought their Stanmore II speaker to pair with it, with the intention of buying second Stanmore II, so that I’d have a full sound, and one that could be better controls between the mids, and high/low ends. In a perfect world, Marshall’s apps/pairing would work half as good as their speakers do, but unfortunately, this isn’t a perfect world, and Marshall’s apps are horrendous from both their ability (inabilities) to properly pair, and stayed paired with each other, but even more so, with how it communicates with ALL my music services. Why???! I mean you got the hard parts done right, why not spend the effort/resources needed to make it all work the way almost all other speaker systems do? I’m very much considering scraping the two Marshall speakers I got, and going with another company’s system, as this is truly not worth it. Sad.

Terrible- buy other speakers
Zero customer support. I bought 2 Stanmore II speakers. It will play through 1 just find. If you can get this app to couple the speakers- and you likely won’t… if you do- it cuts in and out playing some music on one then the other then stutters the music. I have the speakers 1 meter apart. No interference. Phone within 1 meter or less of the speakers. Listen- these speakers can’t play in stereo - I don’t care what marshal tells you. They can’t. Buy one you’re ok. Buy 2 and use second one as a paperweight. You’ve been warned. Update— laughable “support” update. Read my review… then support suggested I move the speakers closer …. Or make sure there is nothing between them… THEY ARE LESS THAN 1 METER APART RIGHT NOW. There is exactly ZERO items nada nothing between them. No lights turned on above them. No microwave running. No other Bluetooth devices within a half mile. They are $600/pair junk. Bottom line.

Great Product, terrible interface
I have had an acton II for a little over a year now and used it mostly for casual listening but I also use it to get a more open air sound when I am mixing and getting a good EQ when helping out with my band. The speaker is fantastic and has a great sound with a warm and smooth low end that doesn’t overpower along with a tame but powerfull midrange and high end. My trouble begins where the app only gives you control over about 5k of range total. The app could use an update that brings a PEQ to adjust the sound of the speaker more extensively and possibly an RTA to give newer users an easier way to get a more desirable sound

BEST earbuds
From the company that brings you AMAZING sound from the stages of your favorite artist… I’ve owned several brands of earbuds and over the ear headphones. Marshall does it best! While some of their features are available in one form or another from competitors, Marshall has perfected them. From the Sound equalizer to the transparency feature, these ANC earbuds are top notch! Plus you’ll get lots of compliments because they don’t look like the competition and they have that iconic “M”!

Nice
I bought the Marshall Minor IV Earbuds ($140 including headphones and shipping) and was impressed by their sound quality, which surpasses that of AirPods. They fit my smaller earlobes comfortably, and I found them to be preferable to other gummy headphones I've tried. The earbuds have a unique sound and can be customized using the equalizer in the app. If you enjoy listening to music at a higher volume, give these earbuds a try. They come in black and gold only.

Major IV support
Just bought a pair of Major IV headphones & love them. Really hope this app supports them soon. 5 stars for the headphones. UPDATE: Still no support for Major IV headphones I bought last year, yet it already supports brand new Major V model. Why? Zero stars for app, since I still can’t use it. UPDATE August 2024: STILL no Major IV headphone support. A FULL YEAR after I bought them and downloaded the app. Did I buy a white elephant that Marshall doesn't want to support?

Unusable after recent update
The app crashes every time i tap the bar on the bottom to attempt to change the volume of my speaker from my phone, making the app totally useless. I for some reason also had to install the speaker update 3 or 4 times before the app stopped telling me it needed to update. Its a shame because everything was working just fine a week ago.

Connectivity Issues
From my experience (IPhone 11) you must pair the speaker(s) through the app THEN pair it to your ‘phone’ via the Bluetooth settings. If you pair it to your phone then try to pair through the app it won’t work... additionally music must be selected through your media player (I use Apple Music) and it will then display through the app. The instructions do allude to this, stating to utilize the app first ... but alas I only read them after it didn’t work!

Superior sound
I still use my airpod pros for work calls because they connect so easily, but when you need to listen to music there is no comparison. The app is also great for adjusting the equalizer for your preferred sound, and the noise cancellation is even better than the over-ear Bose headphones. The pass-through sound feature is also pretty slick, though I haven’t had much use for it.

Worst App, best speaker
I own two acton II Bluetooth speakers. Coupling them to play together requires the stars to align. Got it to work a few times, and a few times it just happened on accident. The connection was usually really spotty between the speakers, and now it’s become impossible to couple. Have had these speakers for almost 4 years now and the developers have not made any effort to improve the apps capabilities to connect speakers. Incredibly glitchy interface. Speakers connect and disconnect as they please. At one point an entire button turned invisible. Overall the app and coupling is not usable. Best speakers tho, so it’s a shame. Guess I’ll switch to Sonos

Big sound, dynamic presence
I have Marshall guitar amps and play along with all types of music and need a clear, crisp audio playback system for learning new songs and just jammin’! Yes, I have the Stockwell 2 and loved that so when I read a review of the Acton 3 I knew I needed one. I waited 3 months or so then finally when it became available I didn’t hesitate and I’m more than pleased with it. My neighbors like it too!

If it worked it would be 5/5
The app worked great the first few months I had the speaker/app (though I rarely used the speaker during this time) But now I can’t use the speaker. I connect my phone using the app and Bluetooth, but when I try to play something it just plays on my phone. The problem? Customer support says I have to forget the device on Bluetooth, then delete the app and reset the phone and the speaker. Here’s the kicker: you can’t erase the device on Bluetooth. You have to delete the app for it to be gone from settings, but it’s not forgotten. The second you start the phone/speaker/app back up the speaker shows up again. So you just end up with the same exact problem you started with. Been doing this for three hours. I just want to play my music. Please fix this or contact me on how to fix this because I’m not about to waste my time on Reddit.

Headphones are great, app not so much
I had about a day and a half of usage with the app being great. But there is a firmware update that for some reason can never finish downloading. That causes the app to crash and the headphones to frequently just randomly disconnect from my phone. I’ve tried to update the firmware over 10 times and it never finishes. So switching from ANC to transparent doesn’t work, i no longer hear the connection noises, and I can’t switch the sound to match music. It’s frustrating that my $200 earbuds can’t do half of what they are supposed to.

Hold the Source button for 2 seconds
The directions are terrible on this app but easy to resolve connection issues. To make this work perfectly, hold “Source” button for two seconds then the Bluetooth can recognize your phone. The speaker will then connect. It is incredible and works perfectly if you follow the step.

This app has a lot to be desired
The only reason I downloaded this app was because i'm bought two Woburn 2 speakers to couple. It took a few days and multiple hours to finally get two to connect. Took several different methods of bluetooth, wifi, disconnections, forgetting devices, renaming, factory resetting and new app downloads. The process was not intuitive nor was it easy and straightforward. It's a shame because the speakers themselves are amazing. Plus make a better app worthy of the Marshall name. While they may be connected and coupler now - I'm not sure if they'll remain this way.

Solid product as expected…
Really great sound quality and I like the ability to changes things within the app. I only wish you could control the ANC and Transparency on the phone and not the app. Maybe I’m missing something, but that would be my one change. I am really like 4.5 stars - everything from the mic to tap controls and especially the sound quality and comfort is superior.

Really?
Start with the fact this app has trouble syncing with the speakers in the first place, it’s basic function. Add in how paired speakers won’t communicate half of the time, with one losing connection. Top it off with the necessity to send your location information, and whatever other data they may be selling. For an app going to operate rather expensive speakers, it is absolutely awful. We drop down a chunk of money for this audio equipment, it is reasonable to expect something semi capable. This is highly disappointing and almost makes one question having bought these speakers in the first place, a shame as they truly sound wonderful.

Bought it cause it says “30” hours of music best I’ve seen is 4. Downloaded the app did every thing I was suppose to… sound is great! Could be louder but I think it would effect the supper high quality of the sound. I love the speaker just wish it would last more than 1/4 of my 10 hour work day

Pairing/Firmware update functionality broken
When attempting to Pair and Update firmware with the Minor 3 Earbuds, it renders the product completely useless. Initially downloaded the app in hopes to see the status of the individual earbuds, but upon attempting to pair the earbuds lose all sound. Additionally, when prompted to update device firmware, once firmware is downloaded I am kicked back to the add device screen of the app. This is after many attempts with resetting the minor 3 to factory settings. At this point it seems better to uninstall the app and use the lack luster apple Bluetooth settings.

Marshall Stanmore lll
I have been disappointed with Bluetooth speakers in the past. Not so with the Stanmore lll, it has BIG sound and I can carry it to my patio or different rooms in my house. It seems to be built like a tank and weighs almost as much. I would recommend the Marshall Stanmore lll as a high quality portable Bluetooth speaker.

Disappointed
I loved the first acton II I bought! So I went and got the next model up to pair them up.. they wouldn’t pair well. They’d take turns playing the same song. So I thought maybe I need two of the same exact model. So I returned the stanmore ( I think ?) and got a second acton II. Tried to put them. Same result. I’ve been working on it for a couple of hours w no success, which led me here.. and I see I’m not the only one w these issues. I grew up playing on Marshall amps, this is ridiculous!!!! Sounds great but these are HUGE issues . I bought the second one to pair it and I can’t !! Duped !

Doesn’t Remember Set-Up - Glitchy
Some serious work is needed with this app. With only one speaker- no issues. With 2 speakers, it’s a total mess. Sometimes the app is successful pairing after several attempts and trying different ways. Most of the time it just hangs despite the iPhone recognizing and connecting to both speakers without issue. Would also be nice if the app could remember previous settings. My JBL Bluetooth speakers never have trouble connecting. Very frustrating when you’re trying to connect a pair of the otherwise amazing Woburn IIs.

an embarrassment
it is hard to overstate how terrible this app is. it takes 4-5 tries to connect to the speaker when i want, and yet when i walk in the house, the app will often connect to the “marshall” speaker (made by an unrelated company that licensed the logo, etc) and begin streaming audio at ear splitting volume. this also happens sometimes in the middle of the night when i pick up my phone. i won’t even get into the clunky and illogical user interface. i don’t have very high expectations for audio quality mono bluetooth speaker, and i bought it solely for the look. but how hard is it to make a bluetooth speaker that simply connects when you want, and doesn’t connect on its own? why do i even need an app? i’ve seen $40 bottom of the line bluetooth speakers for children that work better, and don’t require an app to connect. what a disgrace.

More simple please
Ui suggestions: *The app doesn't need a media play icon. * Media play icon needs to be anchored, floating it gets in the way of turning ANC on or off, hovers right over (iPhone 13mini) *Every time I connect my monitor-2 ANC it forgets my settings and I have to tell it to turn off ANC. Please remember previous setting or use a learning mechanism to predict what I normally pick. *The M button could be used to turn off sound processing.

Updated firmware but…
This app seems to allow some basic functionality within my Action III speaker but it won’t allow me to access my recently purchased Killburn II device. I hope that Marshall will improve the app to allow me to manage all of my Marshall devices and not just flippantly allow some products and not others.

Should have bought the Bose
I bought these new in the Atlanta airport. Opened and tried to charge. They would not charge, just showed a flickering red light. Took headphones out of case, plugged in again, finally started charging. Charged for over an hour. Downloaded app, and the app says connected, but only one Earbud works. The sound is garbage compared to my much cheaper and older earbuds. Not at all satisfied. For the price of these, I honestly feel robbed and will not own another of their products. Should have bought the Bose.

Great headphones, app needs updates
Aside from all the issues everyone mentions in their reviews as I’ve seen, I hate how the app assumes setting the touch controls from one headphone becomes the master control form both sides so it really takes away the whole point. If I’m going out for a walk then it would be nice to be able to go from ANC to TRA when I need for one side and be able to quickly activate my voice assistant with the other side

More equalizer controls would be nice
Love the app and the Middleton speaker but I wish it had high, mid, low controls like a mixer. The bass/treble controls are marginal at best. The treble is ok but the bass is set too high at its lowest point and doesn’t sound like it has much filtering at all. A little more fine tuning would put the speaker and app over the top.

THERE IS STILL AN EQUALIZER
Update: New update fixes problem. Three dots are visible. THERE IS STILL AN EQUALIZER. Contacted support after seeing that it seemed to not be there. It's still there, but a prior update made it invisible for some reason. To get to the equalizer, go to the page that lists the speakers with pictures of each. Apparently there used to be dots to indicate that you could bring up options on the far right of the speaker on the opposite end. You can't see the dots anymore, but you can still press the area to bring up options, including equalizer options. Hope this help.

Would not recommend your “noise cancelling” headphones
Of all the noise cancelling headphones I have from the Sony Xm3, Xm4, Xm5. The Bose 700, the Bose quietcomfort, Apple AirPods Pro, AirPods Max the Marshall Monitor noise cancelling headphones are by far the worst at noise cancellation. The build quality is pretty good however, most headphones are plastic and easily broken but Marshall’s are made out of metal and you will not accidentally break the hinges (sometimes the hinges can be loose) or headband without considerable effort which is nice and the sound quality is pretty good but the noise cancellation is not.

Great Speaker. Horrible app.
Bought a Stanmore II speaker to go with my Woburn II so that I could have a speaker in the opposite corner. Was able to couple the speakers easily but at least once every 2 minutes one of the speakers will briefly cut out. Happens more often if someone is walking around the room!! It’s annoying and frustrating! Fix this immediately!!! At very least give us non-experts the option to easily couple via cable/wires while you are figuring how to make your app work.

Keep hoping for upgrades
Downloaded software to play in stereo mode. When the software works it is amazing. I never know when the sound will fade out if one or the other speaker however. I keep hoping the software would be updated to provide more stability. I did not have this type of issue with a competitive speaker so I was surprised to find this with a Marshall product.

How presumptuous—this app comes up every time I try to find “Bluetooth” settings on my phone and connect to a device. It gives wildly inaccurate battery readings on my headphones. As Useless as it is Unnecessarily Complicated
I’ve never left an app review but after dropping hundreds of dollars on a speaker from a company who can’t shell out a few grand for an app made by someone with a college degree, I do feel compelled. The app is one, unnecessary, and two, will only interfere with your connection. Works like a normal bt speaker, you do not need, nor should you want this app. The instructions people (probably the company) left here don’t work, and if it was that simple hundreds of people wouldn’t be leaving horrible reviews.

I just purchased the Acton II. The speaker works fine but I cannot say the same about the app. I cannot connect the speaker to the app without a firmware update, and the firmware update get stuck at the downloading phase (I think one hour of waiting is enough…) Let me guess, the server is down? Fine, but at least a message to understand what it is happening would be nice.

Coupling broken on new app update
I have two Stanmore II Bluetooth speakers that coupled fine on the previous version of the iOS app. I just updated to the new version today and can’t get the speakers to pair at all. No change in position, and they’ve paired fine for the past year before this update.
