I prefer the old version of the app. I think it was easier to navigate. However, it is still pretty easy to use. The main problem I have is the way you send a payment now. It was definitely a bit of a learning curve with that. All in all, though, the app works great.
I can deposit checks, check my balance, and make transfers. It’s quick and straightforward. I’m a new Mascoma Bank customer, so the other reviews made me worried when I was thinking of opening an account. Disregard other reviews. It works great!
Making deposits has been difficult with not being able to photograph check, when I call for support I am told to shut my phone off or to uninstall app. Repeatedly. Many times app will not open and same advice, restart phone and if that doesn’t work uninstall app. Over and over.
Am I the only one who has a hard time trying to deposit a check? Takes a picture of the front just fine but when trying to take a picture of the back it’s almost impossible. The old app was much easier to use, I had no issues.
The previous app worked well. This one is horrible. I can’t see any advantage to this app over the previous app, and the password change process, which seems to be required nearly daily, takes way too long. I may have to change banks.
25 years doing business with Mascoma! Best bank I’ve ever used! This app is just another extension of everything right they do. I. The beginning it lacked some functionality, like displaying a running balance, but virtually every feature that was missing is now there. This is only one of two banks I’ve ever done business with over the past 45 years that treated me with solid principles. The other was overtaken during corporate buyouts. These guys have refused to sell out. I will NEVER use another bank, even if I move outside their area.
I like the ease of viewing all of my accounts and loans on my dashboard and the simplicity of paying my mortgage with one click. I am all over the place on any given day so the ability to do things on the fly is paramount. This awesome local bank just gets better and better!
The technical support for this app from the Bank is terrible; I had an external transfer that processed twice due to the app crashing and was told by Support it was a “glitch”. No apologies, not advice on what to do next (my acct was overdrawn at that point). Trying to get support on the issue was terrible as well as there is no messaging option unless I link to my email? And then no instructions on what that even entails. I wouldn’t wish this app on my least favorite people.
I love the bank but often run up against accurate but muddledly written instructions. Once “figured out”, all is well” . . . and my severely damaged brain (no joke) has not make made me anything but very slow.
You are required to endorse with “For Mobile Deposit Only” but when it’s not possible to get a satisfactory picture, your deposit will not be accepted. You can spend more time trying to get a good picture than it would take to go to the bank! Two pictures are required, front and back; when the submission fails, it doesn’t tell you which picture you need to retake.
Easy to work with this bank remotely. The staff are supportive. No question is stupid. I use multiple services and enjoy banking with this company. Highly recommended!!
I cannot say enough about how welcoming Walpole branch folk have been to our new community, including all the bumps in getting settled, getting paycheck deposited, and all sorts of really excellent communications. Grateful, Annie and Mark

Online banking works fine but I try to a lot of my banking on my phone and the app never works. It wouldn’t show any accounts/ balances or allow transfers. This doesn’t reflect my experience with the bank as a whole I like doing business with them but the app just doesn’t work.
I am constantly having to change my password. No matter how many times I call I cannot get all the features I need for my many accounts. If my husband didn’t insist on using this bank, I would close every account there because of the website.
The iOS mobile app is still unable to make changes to recurring payments or add reminders to payees. Users have waited for more functionality since the launch of the app. It’s time!
We can no longer access anything. It keeps trying to download the new app but failing. We have to use our browser to login every time. The new version has completely disrupted our banking.
Every time I log in, the Mascoma app is a a new surprise in dysfunctionality. I’m locked out of my account, can’t make a mobile deposit, get outdated and misleading balance info. My ninth grade French class could code a better app. A real C- when every other financial institution has mastered the basics of mobile banking.
