It measures pretty accurately when you can get it to work correctly. It keeps snapping to a point with no feature to turn it off, so it takes a lot of patience to point where you want to start and end. I understand the app wants to help, but it’s not helping.
Actually Not Bad At All, Especially For A Free App
The key seems to be to take your time, make sure you have a good direct angle on what you are measuring. The biggest key is to be sure you have laid out an accurate starting point and termination point, avoid taking curvature etc into the measurement. This is an app best used with solid angle items, like boxed packages for mailing, picture framing etc. avoid curved or funky shaped items. Those would be better measured with a soft measuring tape, like the ones used to measure your waist, etc. Kind of bare-bones app but it’s free. The more feature-laden apps out there are also subscription based and can cost up to $100 a year to use. Well worth it for the professional who would use it many times a day for mission critical stuff, but if you only need an app to take an occasional measurement here and there this is a perfectly adequate app for most instances.
I bought a stand with holes for dog food bowls; then I lost one of the bowls while traveling. The seller didn’t sell replacement bowls, and the holes turned out to be of an unusual size, for which I couldn’t find any bowls online that wouldn’t stand too high or fall through. After measuring the remaining bowl, I went to the store and used the Measure app on bowls and containers until I found one that seemed the right size. When I took the container home it fit perfectly! The only reason I gave Measure 4/5 stars is I had a little trouble figuring out how to use it. Only took me about 1 minute right there in the store though.
I have been using this app for at least four years now. It has been incredibly handy to make quick, approximate measurements. Do not use this to determine where to cut the piece of wood or exactly where to drill a hole! But it’s perfect for say measuring the dimensions of a room, or the size of a piece of furniture. PLUS: it has a level feature! This feature does not try to replicate a real-world bubble level, but instead gives you a big bold display with the number of degrees off from level, then flashes green when you hit 0°.
I forgot I had this app and remembered it when my friends were installing marble slabs. It took the place of a tape measure and a level perfectly. The only things I wish for are that you could have the distance preference to be in the app as another tab on the bottom and allow readouts in metric, imperial or both at the same time. Still an excellent product.
This app is as easy as using a tape measure and knowing basic math. For those leaving negative reviews either never passed eighth grade or are just simply a dunce. This app is great when I am shopping for furniture and I need to make sure it will fit in my home. I take measurements from my home and when I see something I want in a store I simply point my phone at the object and bam, all the info I need is there.
So it’s OK but why when I try to use it it does not want to take the coins he doesn’t wanna work it doesn’t want to measure my room so listen OK I’m redecorating my room OK so why won’t you just let me measure my room all I’m simply trying to do is look at some room ideas so I can probably good idea of my OK OK that’s all good like I’m trying to measure my room why won’t it’s a horrible app and I’m gonna try to do it I’m gonna try and try and try and try but it didn’t workIt doesn’t work so don’t use this app use a much better app use a different one. So when I used the app it was good but then I used it one day and got curious and pulled out my real tape measure measuring something, when I used the tape measure it was 12 ft and 1 inch but when I used the app it was 12 ft 5 inch so the app isn’t perfect but it still gets the job done for a sloppy measurement just… don’t use it for actual construction work or anything that you need to measure that’s important.
similar to the “magnifier,” why isn’t there an option to add this, for easy access from the Home Screen; Control Center, swipe-down menu option/s? [Note to/for the iOS developers]: Please add for Beta 16.2 version/next or the new iOS 16.1.1 as a “software update?” 🙏 …I’ll be keeping an eye out for it ;) :)
Not quite sure how this has so many bad reviews. As a guy, I use this app to measure many things, but one in particular. Now while not always accurate when it comes to exact measurements, this app has now boosted my self esteem beyond all measure (pun intended) I now truly feel like the man of the house.
I like to use this app for when I need to measure the length of my knitting or crochet projects to see how long they are and if I’m ready to move onto the next part of my project. I wouldn’t use it for measuring big or important stuff, but for what I need it for, it works out just fine.
This app is incredibly useful! It accurately measures anything with ease, turning your phone into a reliable ruler and level. The interface is user-friendly, and the measurements are precise. Perfect for quick tasks around the house or on the go. Highly recommend!
I actually like using this app. Quick and easy. I Wonder I g if it measures in mm. I tried clicking on the hamburger menu in the top left. Or is there a setting for this app? I want to order drawer slides and pulled out the app to measure. Other than that like I said I use it all the time. 4 stars because I can’t get the 3 dots to open.
Best app out there when it comes to being a roofer you can mark a leak from inside your home then walk around outside to go on the roof and go right back to that point you set inside the house so it’s perfect for pin point accuracy. The tape measure not so much
4 stars: really liked. This app isn’t 100% accurate, even on large, level floors. I don’t expect it to be 100% accurate, so that’s okay. I’ll give it the last star when it becomes perfect. As long as you don’t bet money on the measurements or use them for serious jobs, it’s great.
So I often use the level when doing odd jobs around the house. Putting up a shelf, hanging a picture; that kind of stuff. But recently, I’ve noticed the level function in the Measure App can get ‘confused’ and lose its orientation. If the phone is not handled carefully, the phone will not maintain its spacial awareness, causing the level to become useless for its intended purpose. When it works, it’s quite convenient. It just doesn’t work that often anymore.
It’s nice having a built in app that you can use to quickly whip up some rough measurements. Takes about 5 seconds of panning around the floor/object to get a lock on and after that it works flawlessly.
It’s a great concept but it doesn’t really work very well. Also, idk what the hamburger at the top left of the screen is for. It’s a dead function. I was more frustrated trying to get the app to work than anything. If instructions and trouble shooting were included in the app it would probably be better. It’s a no and a delete for me though.
It’s the best measuring app for iPhone that I’ve seen. It’s impressive how accurate it is most of the time. For 100% accuracy you still need a good old fashioned tap measurer. I use it often to size off driveways and sidewalks. Works great.
Bruh this told me I’m 2 inches but I’m at least 11.3 inches. Fix this apple. My self esteem needs this. You don’t understand the requirements that a man such as myself needs to feel like a true man. Make it accurate please. For myself and the other mens self esteem.
I’ve fun this very useful frequently. However, the dot at the point if each measure is an almost invisible white dot. I wish it were a bright orange or othe distinctive color so it will be visible . Otherwise pretty accurate and useful.
For an app that only has one job it doesn’t do it very well. Sometimes the perception is way off an miss-measures. The level is pretty useful tho c: Why not add a ruler tab? Scale it for each screen size? It’ll probably be just as accurate, but for smaller things.
I got this app and seems a somewhat basic app, nothing fancy, just a tape measure and leveler( which I can’t figure out how to use). The most frustrating thing about ALL apps is that you don’t know pricing. Apple needs to put pricing $$$ information up front and center! I don’t want yo be hunting here or there for pricing info. It’s NOT easy to find!!!!
SO easy I definitely recommend I wanted to see my height and all I had to do was give my phone to my sister and hold it and it just showed me so easy I definitely recommend
The app doesn’t calibrate, the leveling tool is broken, I don’t know what is wrong. I have a iPhone 11 Pro updated to IOS 16, everything should be correct. However when I go to use the app it doesn’t work, I tried everything. The internet have pretty much no information to fix the problem.I overall I just think the app is broken, get any other measuring app besides this one.
This app is good, and there Is no reason it should be one stared. SMH 🙍🏽♂️, ever since apple started allowing reviews on apple made apps it’s been stupid. Might as well just turn it off
This app comes in handy if you don’t have a tape measure with you and is almost exactly right every time. My only problem with this app is you can only measure from a very limited range. But overall this is a 4 star all day
Come on in this technology age, IPhone could make better then this current, Actually nothing is free pay subscription for another App, it’s lot more features and accurate.
Wow… Just wow. I’ve never experienced such an amazing app! Right when I downloaded it and put it to use, i was blown away by how good it was. Would recommend to anyone and everyone! 10/10!

I tried using the measure tool yesterday to measure the incline of a driveway, please add the ability to change the units from degrees to % grade, roof pitch, etc. 12 degrees doesn’t mean much to me but 20% grade does. Also add an option for audible tone for leveling.
Sometimes you need to use your phone as an actual ruler - not an AR one. Hear me out on this. Sometimes you don’t have thing in front of you you want to measure, you just want to see what the dimensions would look like in real life. Just need a blank screen with actual ruler on it.
Measurements are pretty spot on but the pictures of the measurements are small. Wish they were larger. Customers love seeing visual measurements. Would pay for the addition of larger pictures
I was getting some mixed results and then realized that I was trying to measure space— not surfaces. Be sure to draw your imaginary line across a floor or wall or other surface. Not so great in measuring empty space. Measure twice, cut once.
Why is the bubble level gone and replaced by a graphic looking thing that is less than intuitive? Bring it back, or at least give us the choice of using your new level or the old school bubble level.
The best game is the “level” setting on it. Really fun on a moving vehicle to try to get the two circles on 0 degrees for 30 seconds. I truly did not think that I would have the luxury of using the most useless app in the entire store. It never works, keeps losing the points I make, and keeps telling me to get closer, then further away, the slow down. Then just completely bugs out. This is the only thing Apple touted the “LiDAR” for and it’s absolutely horrible.
This app keeps telling me to continue moving my phone WHEN I AM!! and it keeps telling me to restart! Also when I did something wrong it told me to start over again and again!!!!!! Even if you close out of the app and open it again it tells you the same thing!!!! And you probably think I’m capping
This app as well as the bundled “Compass” app have both stopped functioning and are frozen. I have contacted Apple about this and even though it states that Apple is the developer customer service states they don’t support either of theses apps. Others have mentioned this problem and it appears that there is no fix in sight.
I used to use this app all the time and within the past year, it’s just not working with my camera! I can’t even click on anything to make the camera work and I’ve done everything online! It seems like a lot of people have this problem. Please fix this!
This app was kind of hot/cold with it’s accuracy. I looked into how it worked, then discovered the sensor it uses (LiDAR) on my phone is typically very dirty. This sensor exists on iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max and newer. On the back of your phone, there are 3X cameras, 1X flash, 1X LiDAR Sensor… and a little mic hole… lo… Clean the LiDAR Sensor! Most people (myself) didn’t even know what this sensor was, but if it’s clean this works flawlessly
I tried to work with it but i cant they need to update it because it says i need to move the phone to start measuring and when i do it wont show rhe dot to start measuring but other wise i like the level its accurate but ya
This app seems to be very weird when I Measure. while my big sister was out with her boyfriend, I was measuring a couple of furniture. But it keeps on saying “More light required” “Find a nearby surface to measure” “Move closer “Move farther away” like, I cannot measure in peace. Can you just stop putting those words so I can measure in peace?
