Great idea in theory but poor design in practice. The Miniluxe team needs to provide the ability to select technicians otherwise the convenience of an app is useless.
This app is a maddening labyrinth of frustration and inefficiency. Its user interface seems to have been crafted by someone who delights in tormenting users. Attempting to secure a reservation is an exercise in futility, as the timer eagerly snatches away your selected slot if you don't navigate the labyrinthine process with lightning speed. And if you think autofill might offer a reprieve, think again – it's about as reliable as a leaky faucet, leaving you to tediously input your address and credit card details ad nauseam. Even if you manage to beat the clock, the app gleefully informs you that your reservation has expired prematurely, thrusting you back into the torturous cycle of selecting a new time and starting from scratch. And don't even get me started on the design – it's a visual assault on the senses, with a layout seemingly designed to induce migraines. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this app unless you have a masochistic streak a mile wide.
Appreciate the convenience of mobile booking but it takes way too long to book a service. You should be able to toggle location and technician when searching for available times. Having to delete an item from your cart and start over every time you want to check for a different provider is frustrating. Especially when booking multiple services at the same time. Also having to go all the way back out to the Home Screen to change locations is arduous. Would be great to see who the available technicians are when selecting Any Technician. Dislike having to swat away same 2 prompts about one click booking everyone I open the app. I never use this feature. Agree with others that I wish it was easier to call the studio directly to speak with someone when questions arise.
Well, in four years since I reviewed this app, MiniLuxe has made it nearly impossible to book by phone, instead of just onerous. Of course they still want to store my credit card on file all the time without allowing my iPhone to suggest a secure password. A pedicure is a rare treat for me. Three months ago I had my first pedicure since before the pandemic. When I told the technicians how much trouble I’d had booking on the website they assured me the app was a better option. Yesterday, I once more I found myself wanting to take my daughter out for a special occasion. I tried to book through the app and my same concerns from my 2020 review were there. Somehow I got our appointments booked through the website. I logged in to the app with the insecure password generated by my brain. I realized I couldn’t use Apple Keychain to change the password so decided to change it on the website. Now, despite the confirmation email I received, the website says my email address and password are incorrect, and it won’t send me an email to create a new password because my email address isn’t associated with any account! Getting a pedicure is supposed to be stress relieving. Every time I book one with Miniluxe I’m left in tears from the stress caused by their inattention to cybersecurity.
Love this app. I can quickly book the exact service I want at any location, and all of the available time slots show right there to choose from. I don’t know of any other salon that makes it this easy! Super easy to change or cancel when necessary too, no need to call the studio. Checking in and out of my appointment is so simple and quick with this app! My favorite feature is knowing exactly how long your service will be and when it will start/end. Makes it so much easier to fit in some self care during a busy week.
Charges your card without giving you an appointment!!
I made an appointment and it asked for my credit card information, which I submitted. My credit card Company texts me every time I get charged, and I saw my card get charged. But then the same form appeared again asking for my credit card info! So, stupidly, I submitted the info again and....again, got a text! But never got an appointment confirmation, and there are no appointments under my account. So now I have no idea whether I have an appointment, and I’m worried I’ll get charged as a no show. To top it off, no one at the shop in Beverly Hills picks up the phone!
If the person you request isn’t available at the time you ask, you have to start ALL OVER again!
WHY don’t you have a calendar that shows availability for the requested technician?! I hate having to start all over again. I have to book ‘any technician’ to get the time I need. It’s impossible to see who’s available. Better yet…why don’t you ANSWER THE PHONE like everyone else does?! There are people at the desk and their job appears to be doing absolutely NOTHING.
The new app shows you every appointment time, including the times that are not available. Very difficult to schedule an appointment because of this. I don’t like being forced to provide a credit card to book an appointment. Doing that allows MiniLuxe to store my credit card number and I don’t like for small companies to store my credit card information.
I love using the Miniluxe app to book my appointments. I really like to be able to plan ahead and know I’ll get my favorite nail designer at a time that works for my schedule! Makes it super easy to go on my lunch break, which I could never do at other nail salons.
Not only is this the best in studio experience I’ve ever had but their products are clean/non-toxic and MiniLuxe treats it’s studio employees well with fair pay, benefits, etc. Most salons barely pay minimum wage, let alone benefits and PTO! They are for sure a best in class nail salon and creating new industry standards.
MiniLuxe is the cleanest most professional nail and waxing salon! I love all their services and especially their new recharge and gel mani! The app is great and easy to use. It’s updated often to fix any bugs and I haven’t had any issues using.
MiniLuxe has completely changed my nail salon experience by offering online booking and having an app where you can request your favorite technicians and rebook your next services. Love the reliable appointment times!! AMAZING!!
Love the new features for this app very organized but whenever you book online sometimes your appointment overlaps with another appointment. The app stays booking at the wrong location and numbers aren’t accurate when you try to call the store it brings you to another studio. Very frustrating when they have the cancellation policy and this happens.
I’ve been using this app for a while and want to say the most recent upgrade is AMAZING! Thank you MiniLuxe for making it so much easier to book my fav nail techs!!
A great app to be able to schedule an appointment in the studio I want with the nail designer or waxing editor I prefer. Great for planning into to my schedule.
The app is saying there are no appointments available for any service I try to schedule. I looked through the next few months and every single day says no appointments available
Miniluxe services are great. This app is not. Unfortunately, since they no longer seem to schedule by phone, this app is the only way to schedule services. The interface navigation is terrible. The notifications are constant and irrelevant. Sigh. Do better, ok?

I just updated my app and I love how smooth and easy the process is to book the appointment. I’m able to see what dates and times are available based off of the service. I can even now select the technician that I want to be with which is a huge bonus for me! On the old app you had to call in. I also love the feature to add to calendar straight from the app. Great job MiniLuxe! So convenient to book appointments now!
Terrible! App needs a ton of work, if not gonna to release a good product, do not release one at all. Your store concepts are amazing, app should live up to that as well. A complete waste of space in my phone. Please do a better job and release when worth having and will make customers lives easier not more challenging. Appointment histories unavailable, technician selection not an option. Keeps signing me off for no reason, rewards/points information not available. Many, many problems.
The app is not worth it to download, just call in. It takes forever to scroll to the location you want. Sometimes it will send confirmations and other times not so I’ve made multiple appointments by accident. It won’t say when I have an upcoming appointment in the upcoming appointments section. They removed the Soto down option for color refresh. And on top of all that, it will force close or say communication error half the time.
I did make an appointment using the app, which does not allow for selecting the technician of your choice or otherwise. On the morning of the appointment, the appointment did not show up in the app, so I had to call to confirm that I did indeed have an appointment. While checking out after today’s appointment, I made my next appointment at the desk. That next appointment does not show up in my Account in my app. I give this app a zero.
The new update is much better but I do not like how it makes me input my credit card info in the app in order to book. I prefer to pay in store. Whether it’s only meant to hold your appointment and charge if a “no show” it doesn’t say anywhere and would rather not risk being charged then.
The app has never been stellar but with the recent upgrade I can only book at locations in California. -I live in Texas. I have checked the location settings on my phone, they are all on. With this obstacle I cannot move forward in the booking process.
App will only let me book appointments, but doesn't keep track of appointments I've made. When I click "my appointments" it says I have none scheduled, so I still have to call if I want to change or cancel my appointment. Makes the app totally useless.
You can’t book an appointment within the app. It opens Safari or another browser when you are booking an appointment. What’s the point of the app if not to book without going on their mobile website?
As other reviewers have mentioned, you can’t select your technician/designer and I very specific about who I book my appointments with. Moreover, when I log into my account, it does not pull in any of my existing appointments. Very VERY primitive functionality.
Easier to select location and services than on the (horrible) website, but still can't pick the person so useless to me. Also clicking on Account causes the app to hang.
Can't make an appointment on this app. No matter what date I select, it says that there are no available times on this date. Even a month out. This is useless.
New version of the app doesn’t accurately locate you, so you can’t book even in your home state. In Texas, but only showing locations in MA or CA. Bring back the old app!
I use this app regularly for appointments at the Market St Lynnfield location and now it no longer a lists Lynnfield as an option! Is there another update coming?
