Infuriating
4.6 stars to me is astonishing. I have little faith that Motorola isn’t gaming these numbers. We have had this for system for a while now. The monitor has never stayed connected for more than A couple of days—even when we keep it in the next room. (1,000 feet of distance is an utterly absurd claim; this would lose connection in an open field at about 200 feet I’m sure of it). So we abandoned the monitor and have tried to use our phones and WiFi to manage it. But it’s the same problem. Inexplicably, they will disconnect in the middle of the night. Want to add more phones with the share tokens? Great, you’ll get about 15 minutes of access before those go caput. Want to use the “sign in to an existing nursery” feature? Cool. That will stay connected for somewhere between three minutes and a few hours. Just a truly awful product.

Works pretty well but please let us turn off specific notifications
Works pretty well. We have to reset the camera any time it’s disconnected from the WiFi network but this doesn’t happen too often. My only real complaint is the constant notifications warning me of the expiration of the subscription to the 90 day 24 hour cloud recording service which I never subscribed to. The notifications pop up alongside any notification of movement or noise from the camera and any time I open the app and often for no apparent reason at all. It’s often two or three identical notifications simultaneously. There is no way to disable these notifications and it’s extremely irritating.

2 huge flaws
This baby monitor works great besides two issues. EVERY single night, the monitor goes offline. And when it goes offline it CLICKS in my daughters room and the music goes off. Then it clicks back on. When it clicks back on the volume has been set to the lowest setting and I have to go turn it back to where I had it. Now the problem w that is the button for the music is missing 50% of the time from the app. For both my husband and I. Right now I am playing lullabies on my phone because the button is missing and I can’t turn it on for her from the monitor. I have reported this issue TWICE through customer service on the app. Not once did I hear back from anyone. In fact, it’s gotten worse since then. If these two things were fixed, I would give it 4 stars. One star missing because none of the pictures I take ever save to the gallery even though it says they do. This app is very flawed.

Better than everyone says
We personally love the app, the picture quality is far better than the monitor it comes with. As far as the time to load the camera, if you force close the app it makes it load much faster when reopened. (Dev maybe you can set it to reload everytime you leave the app and come back) it did stop sending alerts for some reason a few days ago, the newest update did not fix it. It will send the notifications a few hours later when nothing is actually happening which is pretty annoying.

Works great, when it works!
Ok the days it doesn’t take 3+ minutes and multiple resets to connect to my phone, it is amazing! Great picture, night vision, sound. But when it takes longer to connect than it would take for me to walk upstairs and check the room myself, what the point of a 100$+ monitor? I actually went so far as to complain to customer service because I thought maybe it was my specific item, since there were so many amazing reviews. But after some back and forth they did sent me a brand new monitor which I installed again, and it has the same issues! Of course, the parent monitor is great, no issues there. So as long as you are planning to never try to use the dedicated app to check the monitor, great product. But connectivity to the app is 1/5 stars, disappointing

Not good
The system itself isn’t bad that’s why I rated it two stars, the monitor it comes with is great but the upright stand gave out with in a month of use. The app is garbage, if I’m at work I can’t just open the app and see what’s going on because it takes days to load, even with five bars and full wifi connection it doesn’t load thus I can’t check in on baby using the camera’s app this also happens on my spouse’s phone so it isn’t just my phone. The sound notifications and or the movement notifications are a hit or miss on the app for example I was in the garage getting something and my phone didn’t receive any notifications and when I got back in the house my baby was in full rage mode in the crib. To conclude the monitor does what it’s meant to do but the app is complete garbage.

Glitchy at best
Shocked to see the high app rating, the monitor is great, but the app is TERRIBLE. Constantly freezing and will show footage from different times of day. Several times I’ve looked at the video without sound and thought my daughter was still napping only to realize the app wasn’t loading properly and she was laying in her crib wide awake crying. Wish there was a feature to view the entire night not just motion triggered clips that the app chooses. The baby was wiggling from one end of her bassinet to the other and doing a 90 degree turn and somehow the app never managed to capture and save those movements so we have no clue what she was doing. If it wasn’t for the screen that doesn’t use the app this baby monitor would be absolutely useless due to the issues with the app

Happy but wish it worked just alittle better
The picture quality is great but I wish we had bought the monitor to go with and did not just go with the app. Makes it challenging at night having my phone on all the time and when using it I can’t have any other program with sound going. Also the app freezes and sometimes doesn’t load so I am constantly closing out of the app and reloading. At night sometimes that happens and I will be sleeping so I don’t notice so there are stints of time where I can’t hear my son cry. Lucky for us it is rare for him to wake up at night and I am a light sleeper so I sometimes wake up when I no longer hear the static. It’s a great idea just wish it worked alittle better

Totally Unreliable
This app does not reliably connect to the cameras…at all. It frequently will say “connection refused” and will often not allow me to connect to the camera to change the “night mode setting.” The menu to access that option on the camera completely disappears from the app. I made sure the app was up to date and that my OS was up to date, power cycled my device. This app is just unreliable. My brother and my sister have Wyze cameras for their dogs and those are FAR superior. They have all the important functionality (motion and sound detection and alerts), always have reliable connection, easily set up and travel well. I literally can’t see my baby right now, even though I’m in the same house, but I can see their dogs crystal clearly in another state and across town. I’m going to return this and get those instead.

Dev please improve the app
Overall idea is great with the journal logging and general features you’d see in a monitor. Able to keep record all in one place. However the app is constantly frozen and slow (this is NOT due to wifi strength) you have to close out of the app every time or it will freeze and if you don’t realize it.. you think you’re watching your baby peacefully sleep but in reality they are kicking and moving about in a risky way and you wouldn’t know. Huge safety issue. It’s great picture quality until the baby moves. The pixels cannot keep up with motion it’s just goes blurry until baby is still again. One star bc their feature for customer support is clearly intentionally flawed. You message via the app but there’s no way for them to contact you so it’s pointless.

App is usually good
I can connect to my nursery cameras and it will be connected all night long. Sound will not work that whole time. Sound in the background will not stay on for more than about 15 minutes and then it seems to cut in and out sometimes. It’s not a big deal for me since my babies are in the room next door but at nap time it can be frustrating if I’m doing something and I can’t keep the sound on. A new issue is that the pan feature has disappeared and I really liked that feature for my twins. What happened?

I would give it 0 stars if i could
I used to love motorola nursery. I could watch the video back of my son to see what happened while i was asleep. and now after paying 100 dollars for the monitor, They have added a “Nursery Plus” feature. Meaning you have to pay extra money ranging from 5 dollars a month to 100 dollars a year to watch the footage back of my son over the night. I would have never spent the initial money if i knew they were going to charge us again to use the entire purpose of having a smart monitor. I would have bought a less expensive one that didn’t have that feature if that was what i wanted. I’m very disappointed and frustrated with the way Motorola is using concerned mothers for extra profit.

Not the best, not the worst
We use this camera in our baby’s nursery and it reliably alerts us when there is sound or movement. Our biggest complaint is that the live video footage on the app takes many seconds to buffer and load, and sometimes never loads at all. The video on the monitor that came with the camera is more reliable.

App lags, freezes, shows old image
The standalone monitor with this system is great. The app monitor on my phone often lags, freezes, or very weirdly will switch back to an earlier view of my baby instead of what’s actually happening in the moment. It makes me concerned that previous footage is being stored somewhere? The arrows to move the camera also don’t always work on the app, there is often a delay. Overall it’s definitely better than nothing and I like that it’s on my phone. But for how important this device is for the safety of my baby, I’d expect more performance improvements on a regular basis.

Pay to play
As others have stated, the connectivity is hit or miss. It’ll work for a few days and then go out and I have to reset it. Otherwise it’s been a decent monitor. My biggest gripe is the company started charging for the recordings. It used to be free up to 24 hours or so, I could look back and see exactly what time my daughter woke up from her nap. But now that’s a premium feature to have any recording saved whatsoever and you have to pay by the month. When I need a new monitor I will be looking for a different company than Motorola that offers this recording feature for free.

Charging you to watch anything recorded
We bought this in 2022, as far as a functional monitor it has been decent. We primarily got this so I could see baby from work. The hand held screen always seems to work, however the app sometimes wouldn’t connect. However with the most recent app update I’ve found that Motorola is no longer letting you view your motion detected videos. You now have to pay additional to see your videos. This was already an expensive camera and you want more!? For a business who already has more than most, to ask for even more money from from their consumers just doesn’t read well with me. No longer a brand I respect nor will I recommend.

Lied to customers
When we decided to purchase the Motorola baby monitor, one of the reasons we decided on this one was because of the 24-hour live video monitoring that we did not have to pay extra for. When they announced that they were moving to a subscription model, Motorola support assured me that I wouldn’t have to pay to continue to have access to the 24 hour video monitoring. A couple weeks ago, I was locked out of the 24 hour video monitoring. I am extremely disappointed that they are no longer providing the service that helped us decide what camera to purchase. I would not recommend Motorola and I do not plan to buy another one.

App Issues
I wish I would have listened to the other reviews before buying this. With it being Motorola I figured it was a reputable brand. It worked okay for the first day or so but since then the app will not load 90% of the time (just shows a white loading circle) and from the reviews it seems to be an ongoing issue that they will not resolve. It does alert me if there is noise and movement but it won’t let me load the live camera to see if my baby is awake,etc. so I have to go into the room, which defeats the whole purpose of the camera. This would be a great buy if the app would work but again, seems like an ongoing issue. If I still had the box to return, I would.

Loses connection to camera after a few hrs
We put this on our registry because we were excited about the option of a monitor and an app, but we have been sorely disappointed by the app. After setting it up, it would work great for anywhere between 6 hours to a day and a half. But after that, the app stops connecting to the camera and the only way to restore connection is to delete the camera and add it again as a new device. The signal strength in the nursery is not amazing, but well above the minimum requirement listed by Motorola. Unfortunately, we’ve just resigned to having to reinstall the device anytime we want to use the app.

Pay a subscription for access
I’ve had this baby monitor and app for several years now. In the app you can view videos taken when motion triggers the camera over the last 24 hours, and I loved that when I was away and busy I could look back at the short videos the camera caught and see the cute moments of my family. I was able to do that for three years. But, then the app had an update, and the viewing of those videos are now behind a paywall… everything is now a monthly subscription. It’s such a shame that we’re being Nickel and Dimed by a baby monitor.

Good update, but one navigation flaw added
The update to this app made it more responsive and nicer to view overall than it previously had been, but the inability to easily navigate from one full-screen horizontal view recording to the next *without* exiting back out to the full vertical view list is a very, very clunky and unintuitive UI development. Please consider re-adding the ability to move back or forward between recordings without exiting to the full list once again, thanks.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This is, by far, the WORST monitor software we had had the displeasure of using … and we’ve tried many. The app is sluggish, unintuitive, and (recently) started to monetize a feature that previously free. When we try to view the cameras through our phone, 90% of the time the camera loads incessantly, cannot connect to the camera (tells us its offline when its not), does not update. The temperature monitoring is painfully inaccurate, matching no other temperature monitors in the baby’s room. To do anything on the app is sluggish. It feels as though this app was an afterthought. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Update to app puts child in Danger
Our son is medically complex and we use the Motorola system to monitor him in real time and determine what may have caused a fever or deadly situations to arise. Last night our son had water go down his airway while asleep AND when I opened the app to check out how it happened to know how to treat I was forced to update and then told I now have to pay to get access to something I used daily prior to today. I am furious they would take something away as an app developer. If whomever made this recent update could help me uninstall it, I would be grateful for my child’s life could depend on it.

Terrible
This was a baby shower gift so while I am grateful, I should’ve checked reviews before adding this to my registry. Every single time I open the app it buffers endless. Whether it’s to just check in on the baby or to look at a movement/sound notification- BUFFER. I have to open and close it dozens of times over several minutes. If I was actually relying on this in an emergency I’d be f’d. I don’t know that I can return it at this point but I’ll definitely be getting a new/different setup. *when the app actually works, then camera and features are fine. Nothing to write home about.

The actual camera and monitor are good
The app is just bad. I had the app running and it showed no baby in their bassinet. My baby was intact in their bassinet but the app had frozen. It wouldn’t reset till an hour later. Two stars is because the actual camera and monitor it comes with are good. I apologize as i won’t speak to customer support as the reviews show it’s a trend. If everyone has to call customer support for this app then…that says something about either the lack of ease of the app or the app itself.

App continually fails
The camera and monitor work just fine. Always connected minus a few hiccups early on. The app on the other hand rarely ever works with my iPhone. I continually get the camera is offline when it’s not (while the monitor is running right next to it). This has been an ongoing issue for the past several months with this app. I purchased this device for the reason of having an app that I could use to check on my child compared to just a monitor. So far that seems to not be a viable selling point for this system.

This app is next to unusable.
If you’re looking for a baby monitor that is reliable and connects to your phone without a problem, this is not the app for you. Customer service takes the time to respond to reviews but not to inquiries through the app. Motorola should stick to making burner phones for nefarious business deals.

This monitor was a lifesaver for us! We are using for my husband, he is sick and then had to have surgery, he is on a different floor level, so I get to do the stairs many times a day, but with the monitor I can atleast check on him often without walking 2 flights of stairs! Thanks to the monitor!!

Horrendous
This app is so poorly designed but pairs nicely with a poorly designed baby monitor. The notifications launch to a blank screen (must quit the app and restart) and when you try to use the scroll bar for playback there are buttons over it. Let alone, they used a play button which any user would assume means play video, but no, it takes you to some random play audiobooks feature. What? I’m literally shocked this app is ranked so high and wouldn’t be surprised if Motorola is gaming their rankings. It’s horrendous.

Terrible App and Seemingly Fake Reviews
I have never written a review in all my years of using apps, but this app is so terrible that I have to leave a review. First, there is no way to control the tilt and pan of the camera from your phone. Second, when you want to view the video for playback, it cuts off the outside of the video (as if the video was recorded in widescreen and replayed in 4:3 aspect ratio). Third, the app is SUPER clunky. I would not be surprised if it was developed, pushed, and never updated. User interface is more like a 2007 app than a 2022 app. Additionally, the motion alerts are shoddy. Sometimes motion alerts are more frequent for no explainable reason and sometimes obvious motion is not captured. This is not due to motion sensitivity, it’s just inconsistent. Finally, look at the wording for the 5 star reviews, it’s clear that they are not legitimate reviews.

Peace of mind
I bought this to keep an eye on my Mother in Law. She was brought into our home 3 years ago and is now 101, soon to be 102. It gives me comfort knowing I can see her and hear her as needed, especially when I’m in the go. Thank you for your product , it’s been a game changer.

Buyer Beware
One of the worst camera and camera app set up ever purchased. Connectivity issues from the very beginning. Unable to enlarge the screen on the application. Issues with real time viewing where the screen would time out, but sound still came through. Initially thought our baby was coughing while not moving. Camera quality awful especially during low lighting. Unable to give 0 stars, but this would be negative stars if possible.

Initial reaction: I love it!
I just set everything up and it was super easy! The picture quality is great, the night vision clarity is better than I hoped, and I really like that I have the ability to adjust thr sensitivity of the motion/sound detection.

Terrible App
This app has the worst UI I have ever seen. Can barely see my baby because they decide to put huge buttons over the video feed. In addition to this they make 50% of my screen dedicated to 4 useless buttons that if we’re not there I would have a larger visual of my feed. Turn it sideways you say? That would be awesome if the huge play buttons didn’t cover the middle of the screen and weren’t enormous. Shrink your UI and give more space to what matters…the stream of your child.

So bad I had to write a review
I’ve never submitted an app review before, but this app is so horrible that I feel obligated to. Even when I’m in the same house and next door to my son’s room, the app won’t load the cameras and often states the camera is offline when it is obviously not. I bought this product because it offered an app in addition to a monitor, but the app is entirely unreliable, so you’re better off with an entirely different system. Complete trash.

The picture quality is great! My issues with the app are it never seems to connect even when internet connection is not an issue, and i hate that when i exit out of the app after use you still get notifications on motion and sound. Super annoying, so i just unplug the camera every time.

So much worse than Hubble apps
iPad version not optimized for iPad, does not work all that great with more than one camera, but the worst part is that it will randomly show video and play sound from 30 minutes prior. You’ll literally see and hear a baby crying in its crib…except that the baby is in your arms and is quiet. Just randomly plays scenes from earlier. Like there is some kind of ghost baby. Pretty creepy and makes it basically ineffective. We miss the Hubble app!

Expensive cameras, poor quality and worse app
Motorola was considered a household name. It isn’t the early 2000’s anymore…. Unfortunately their products haven’t been able to keep up with even cheap sub $40 cameras image quality. Even if you think that 720p isn’t horrible in 2023, their app is the real problem. Download for yourself and you’ll see that it feels like a group of high schoolers designed this app. Never got optimized for anything pass the iPhone 8

How is this 4.4 stars?
lol they must have this rigged. No way this should be that high. It doesn’t even connect, screen cracks by looking at it, the app is glitchy and just continuously shows a loading circle, it’s expensive. Very suspicious of this high rating. And developers don’t bother with the contact me stuff, I’ve used this monitor for two years and it’s the same ol connection problems. You’d think it would be perfect being so old!

Connectivity issues
When it works, it’s great. 25% of the time there are connectivity issues between the device screen and the camera. Customer service just tells you to reset the device but same issues arise. Beyond the return date now and stuck with a partially working baby monitor. For safety reasons, we’ll be switching to another brand.

Live Feed Won’t Load In App
First off, we were mostly using the external monitor, but that suddenly died, so my wife and I have had to rely on the app more to check in on our baby during their naps and other times. Now, when opening the app, the live feed won’t generate and we’re stuck watching a spinning circle with a snapshot of what the live feed captured recently. What gives???

Takes forever to load camera
It takes a loooong time to load the camera view if it ever gets there at all. Super frustrating as that’s the entire point of the app - ideally, you turn it on and can see your baby cam. Nope. I would say 80% of the time it takes longer than a couple of minutes to load the live cam view. Seriously thinking of returning the camera because of how crappy the app is

Connectivity issues
We’ve had this monitor for a year - and when it works, it’s great. But lately the app has been garbage. I haven’t been able to connect for some reason so can’t use the app monitor at all. The main parent unit works fine but we like being able to see her on our phones too. I don’t know what’s going on lately but it’s been so broken.

Ridiculous
App worked perfectly for the past almost 2 years. Now ever since they updated the app about a week ago I can’t anything to come up when I open the app. Just says the camera is offline/disconnected which it’s not cause I can see the camera is working on or actual Motorola screen. App doesn’t work anymore so I guess it’s back to using the obnoxiously huge screen I have to carry around

Cameras freeze way too often
The base will periodically start beeping because it’s not connected. Sometimes you can power the base off (reboot it) but often, none of the buttons are responsive and you can’t turn it off. When it works, it’s a 4 to 5 star product, but it’s too temperamental, it’s hard to rate at more than two to three stars at most.

Good monitor, not so great app.
The monitor is great. I absolutely love that the camera sticks to the base magnetically so it’s easy to move around and get a great view. The app is OK, however, when I’m not home and trying to check the monitor, the app does not load the camera. Not reliable if I’m not home using the app or the actually monitor.

Buggy and inoperable
This is a poorly designed app. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn’t. Like many other reviewers, I often get an error that the camera is offline (when it isn’t), that the camera is rejecting the connection, or that the camera can’t be found. I’m tech savvy enough to set up and run basic devices, but this app is just inconsistent. Wish I could return the product.

Very frustrating
We purchased this specific monitor as we are gone quite a bit and wanted the option of a handheld viewing monitor or using the app on our phones. The app never works. Constantly frozen and takes forever to load. It’s Sunday and my screen is still the same from Thursday despite full WiFi.

If you care about your children don’t buy this
One star is being generous..this is by far the worst camera ever made.. the app is terrible super slow and almost never connects. The camera it self is super staticky (I’ve even had it replaced by customer service) and the monitor will randomly disconnect whenever it feels like it and won’t make a sound. Truly so disappointed in this product.
