Put simply, yes. After dealing with another bank for years transferring and my financial dealings to MSGCU was a pleasure. It started with a single car loan and then grew to include almost all of my financial needs. Multiple cars, personal loans, checking and savings accounts for my entire family. And a home equity loan that is currently in process. Every experience I’ve had has been pleasant and usually completed in less than 30 minutes. The staff are competent and friendly and often point out ways to help me achieve goals that I would’ve thought were not within reach. They are a better service provider than my previous bank and a company that I will work hard to support going forward.
There are not many credit unions or banks that will give you a second chance when you are a single mother that have faced financial challenges. This credit Union stepped up to the plate and gave me so many options when I didn’t get approved for one loan. I am. Government employee and Just became a member and I love it already. Everyone is very. I e so far 👍🏽
New and improved app?! This is only true if they’re competing to be the worst app on the App Store. It is hard to be worse than The Weather Channel app, but it’s close. They added a few features such as P2P transfer, which is undoubtedly a nice feature. Otherwise, they basically changed the font size so you can now read your account balance from across the room. Of course, you need to be able to load the app to actually be able to see your balance in size 47 font. Loading the app usually involves opening and closing it 8-10 times before you can finally get in. Once you’re finally in, the interface is similar to how it was before, with larger font and advertisements. This is a banking app, not a high school level coding project. Please rebuild your app that reflects the good bank that you are. Again, this app is straight trash!
This is a good attempt to stay relevant and modern. However, I agree with some of the other reviewers comments. There needs to be some significant improvement on the display and functionality within the app. Viewing transactions shows nearly half the screen with a large blue bar that displays no useful data, and the transactions themselves are too big or spaced apart so it is difficult to find what you are looking for. It would be better to keep them small with the ability to tap for more details. Also, as mentioned by others the banner at the top of the app looks terrible, takes up important screen space, and links you to a built-in browser of the MSGCU home page. That serves no purpose to the end user and should be removed. Bank apps should attempt to keep it simple to see the basic data you need, with the option to tap for more detail or options when you desire.
Great service from Angela King at the Shelby Twp branch.
Angela was very helpful during my purchase of a motorcycle down in Mississippi. She went fiar and beyond my expectations as it related to the unusual amount of requirements to secure the purchase. I recommend to anyone that might be looking for a credit Union, to stop in and ask for Angela. Thank you Angela and MSGCU!
A lot of features are better but one in particular is really annoying me. On the old app the due dates would be on the same tab as say the credit card or the loan. In the new app you have to click in the loan, and then click details to see the due date. I know to some people this wouldn’t be a big problem but on the old app once you paid the bill for the month the due date would then update letting you know you had paid it for the month.
There are many reasons a person needs a financial institution with merit. Michigan Schools has been there to answer financial questions even when it’s not in association with doing business there. Mortgage, loans and other accounts that are needed, all supplied at your convenience with web access anytime so when you travel it’s always available.
I absolutely despised the old app as it was so outdated and un user friendly. But this new app was an amazing upgrade! Everything is so much better and it’s so much more modernized. I also love that I can now set up alerts that go straight to my phone when anything happens with my account. Great work!
Why can’t all my accounts appear with one log in, just like Bank of America. And in Quick Pay, my accounts are just numbers and not labeled mortgage, auto, etc. And why is there an “I am not a robot” test before I submit every payment? Should I really have to pick the boxes with all the chimneys before i can complete a transaction? So annoying! Worst site ever!!! Very user unfriendly! And now I can’t even submit this review until I come up with a nickname that isn’t already taken.
After getting used to some of the newer features, I’ve grown to like this app. However the facial recognition feature does not work properly and therefore I can only give it four stars.
II very much love this Credit Union, and I’ve been with other Credit Union for over 30 years, and I’ve been treated very well here, therefore I wish that I would’ve known about this Credit Union year ago, I probably would’ve switched back in the early 1980’s
The credit union has always been one of my most frequent stops. I know many of the tellers and each one of them are very helpful, courteous and professional. I really do like the new mobile system and I do find it very easy to use. Of course, it did take some time to use. I do wish that when new tellers are assigned to the SCS office that they stay at this center for awhile. It seems that I just get to know them better, the person gets assigned elsewhere. It is nicer when the tellers get to know the members . Great job!
I didn’t think it could get worse, but I was mistaken. This app is easily 10 times worse than the old one. The text is so small, you need a huge magnifying glass to see it. It also does not function. You cannot get a list of individual transactions, just your account balances.
I am in the process of switching my accounts from Bank of America to MSGCU! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Sarah in Macomb Township. She has been very helpful and answered all of my questions! Great customer service!
Very easy to use the app, and it has a very clean ui. Some modernizations of the ui with some more modern styling conventions works easily bring this app up to 5 stars for me. Unrelated to the app, MSGCU is a fantastic credit union, with a very friendly and informative staff.
Entering login information fields get bounced around off screen. It’s hard to tell what fields you are entering data into. The add placement above the settings button means it is constantly in motion. Bad choice. Ads in a banking app is unprofessional. A brief and rare popup maybe but a 90’s era banner that moves things around that you cannot get rid of is just silly. Stand up to the upper management dork that thought this was a good idea. They are wrong.
Abra Rowland did my set up, she was very helpful with everything! If there are any problems with my setup she would be my first person to contact for help. Thanks a lot.
Budget developers making a budget app with little oversight.
The title says it all. The original MSGCU app was awful and not user friendly. The update made it tolerable. Now it appears MSGCU has hired a new company to develop their app as well as their website. Since then I have not been able to log in. This is a exemplar of what not to do. Disappointed is an understatement. I will be withdrawing my money and cancelling my accounts once the COVID shutdown is over.
The layout of the new app is not as nice as the old app. In the old app everything was much easier to see all at once. The new layout is too large (text) and takes longer to review all information. Use the original app a as long as possible and hopefully they will update this new app soon
I have been a member of MSGCU for over 44 years and never in all that time have I ever been disappointed with the great people there!!! Thank You MSGCU for your help and support.
I had a nightmare getting online. Henry Haidous at the canton branch spent fifteen minutes getting me all hooked up. I even decided to open a checking account. Great service.
Crashes every time I am in the middle of a chat session
Also very difficult to find info I need, tabs poorly organized. I love the people who work at this organization, and the personal service I receive here, but this app is sorely in need of some real improvement.
I have been trying to use this app for three months now snd every time it is an absolute abomination. I struggle to use the quick pay because it never seems to hold the setup from the previous month. So incredibly frustrating.
Get rid of the banner. It shifts items on the screen around when it loads and takes you to a generic page. I can’t stand dynamic content like that in apps, especially my banking app. Come on guys.
Most user unfriendly app I have ever used. I can’t find my statements or a due date on the website, can only set up a pymt there, but cant I can’t pay a bill on the Phone app. What is the point of having a phone app then? Makes zero sense.
This app is absolutely terrible from the other one. I don’t know why they changed it. I can’t make a payment ahead of time, it only lets me pay the full amount. It doesn’t say the dates anything is due anymore. This app is way difficult than it needs to be.
Can’t make my monthly mortgage payment with mobile app
Ever month, I have to find a computer so that I can make my monthly MSGCU mortgage payment. This is inconvenient for me. I would love to be able to pay my mortgage payment using the MSGCU app.
I much preferred the older app. New home page jumps around when you try to login. Font for numbers is not friendly to read and gives too much information in the checking and savings.
