Fantastic Scanner

I spend quite a bit of time in the MTG space with a lot of interaction with developers of apps and websites related to Magic. This is one of the best apps that I've used, and probably *the* best scanner that I've encountered. I have used many scanners and this is the only one that I've had success with consistently and accurately scanning funky SLD cards. The owner and developer is very receptive to feedback, active daily on Discord, and noticeably passionate about the project. The price is fair and absolutely worth the cost of what...a small black coffee once per month? Easy decision for me. I highly recommend this app!

It’s fine, but search is slow

I like the integration with Scryfall search syntax. However, the card database does not get downloaded so it literally has to reach out to Scryfall to do a search. This causes lag on the keyboard since it actively searches as you type. I type fast, so I frequently have to wait a second for the app to catch up when doing searches. Very frustrating. The discover tab is neat but I didn’t find myself using it much. It’s also just too many clicks to add a card to a deck. Search the card, click the deckbox icon, click the deck of choice, select the board, then select foil/nonfoil. It’d be nice if the plus button could add a card to the most recent deck instead of add to collection. Would make building decks on mobile much faster.

Easily the best

Love this app, it captures the feeling of holding my cards except with all the data that i could never remember right at my fignertips. The scaning feature is a joy to use. Great developer who is responsive, involved in the community and always improving things.

Great app for card collections and value trackers

Saw a recommendation on Reddit, the old app I used was having issues being consistent with updates. This seems to be pretty on top of things and so far is great! Just marking a 4 out of 5 as it would be nice to just have a full permanent upgrade purchase rather than a subscription. I would use this for years so something like $15 now would be a good deal to me, but forgetting about a yearly subscription would be upsetting.

Awesome!!

Developer is super responsive and the app is better than all the others I tried. Love how simple the interface is and isn’t loaded down with adware like some of the other apps! Thanks for a great app and thanks for the quick responses to questions.

Great app

I’m really impressed with this app. The design is intuitive and visually appealing and foil effect is really cool! I think the customer service is the best I’ve ever experienced too. Highly recommended!

Good but slow

I love LOVE being able to have a record of my cards on here the frustrating part is how slow it is to add your collection via the scan function. Unless you pay for the subscription you have to go through several extra steps which is stupid. But otherwise so far I like the app.

I don’t do Twitter or Facebook

And I can’t find a email. So I was curious the camera aspect seldom works and if it does won’t pull up the correct version of cards. Do you not have the original collections that came out in the database? It’s been 45 minutes it worked three times and one it thought was a blue and not a black.

Snappy and Modern

I’m updating my review, completely satisfied. The dev really listens or can read minds. My initial hope for deck building to improve is fully realized and this is the crowning app for magic card management. Thanks dev! Old: After trying every free option, this is the paid saving grace. The UI is clean and simple while packing huge functionality. The scanner is VERY easy to use and the tactile response it gives when you scan a card is rewarding and informational. The deck building is clunky but it makes up for that by having MTG Arena import support over the clipboard. This is a fantastic app! My entire collection will soon be imported thanks to this intuitive development!

Can’t change card variants

Can’t select which variant of a card I have after the scanner picks the wrong one.

Fantastic App, Just a few Suggestions

This is hands down the best MTG app I've used on iOS thus far. The only things I hope get added to the app in the future are as follows: · a way to see card quantity and price for cards in the collection without having to go to the card itself or statistics · a 3 card layout for collection (maybe call it medium/normal icons?) · have cards in decks grouped by category (creature, instant, sorcery, etc.) Even if none of these features get added, I will still continue to endorse and recommend this app to any MTG player looking to keep track of their collection and decks on the go. Keep up the great work!

One word. Wow!

If you collect and or play MTG you need this app. Finally an app that I actually enjoy using! The interface is so simple and clean and not over crowded with extra fluff that gets in the way. I also love seeing my cards all in one place when building decks and having the ability to show my whole collection to friends all from my phone. The scanner also works like a champ. Such a cool app and so happy I found it!

Seriously the best

I’ve waited a long time for a Magic app like this. It looks great and provides all the “creature” comforts I’ve come to expect with a good app. The fact that it works on all my Apple devices is such a home run that I can’t even believe it. AMAZING job by the developer and I hope they keep adding more amazing features. You’ve made a lifelong subscriber.

Input is finicky and lacks in analytics of collection

I bought this after a friend raved about using it. I tried to upload a deck at first, laying all the cards out flat with good lighting then attempting to use the mass scanning feature and it would constantly not scan or identify the wrong card. I then tried my binder and the same thing happened.. I eventually got about half of my deck uploaded and went to look at some stats about my collection and was disappointed with not being able to sort collections by price or view some other basic metrics about my collection.

Amazing product

This app is very organized and easy to use. You can tell the maker loves and uses these cards because of the way it is designed. The user experience is very pleasant and makes my life much easier in navigating my card collection. Highly recommend!!!!!

good app but needs some work

I really like this app but there has been numerous times that I have had to quit the app on my macbook and restart the program due to it not working. I also have it on my ipad and when I go to assign a card to a deck it keeps glitching and doesnt let me assign the card to the deck without numerous attemps. I would give this app 5 stars if these glitches were fixed but its very annoying.

*Please Help* Won’t add cards to collection

I love this app so much, unfortunately it won’t let me add a card to my collection after scanning it. It is unclear whether or not I need the subscription in order to do this. When I scan a card the add button is grey and can’t be clicked. I would love to know how I can fix this. Easy 5 stars if the add button worked.

IPad version crashes

This review is specifically for the iPad version of this app. Recently download the iPad version of the app cannot open the app at all crashes every time I try to open it. iPhone version is fantastic love the app great organization but the iPad version needs to be fixed it’s unusable at this point.

Awesome experience. Minimal intuitive UI. Probably the best scanner on iOS

Loved the app and the card scan experience. Happy to pay the appropriately priced subscription. Really useful app. This is how apps should be....do one thing and one thing well and charge reasonably for it. Kudos to the dev!

Just found the mac version

iPhone version is superb and the mac version is just as good. No scanner on the mac but the sync is fast so I can scan on my phone and automatically see my cards everywhere.

Great collection and tracking

This app is amazing at tracking an keeping tabs on your magic cards. The only downside Is there is no what to put your cards into decks. They’re just sorted in one big pile. While I highly recommend this app for those who trade, leisurely collect and are starting I don’t recommend it for people who have multiple decks.

Top-notch

This app is a top-notch MTG app. The interface makes it my favorite app for managing my collection and building decks. It's super slick, has a great deck builder, is a delightful experience. The scanner on iPhone synchronizes to the Mac so it's easy to digitize my collection. My fave MTG app, hands down!

Beautiful Interface

Easy to use, scanner is very accurate. I like the in app search via card name as well. Also I purchased this app because it was the only one that didn’t have a month sub. Very nice!

Great app

Great app, easy to use and when I had an issue support was quick to help me fix it! Finally have an app that will help me track my collection. My only real complaint is that it can get a bit laggy at times

Vision Pro version!

Was really happy to see the Vision Pro version on day one! This is a really great implementation of the desktop/iOS versions. Kudos to the developer.

This is the best macOS MTG app.

All the rest are "Designed for iPad". This app feels right at home on the mac. And with iCloud sync, I scan on my iPhone and the cards sync seamlessly.

Great experience on iOS, macOS still needs lots of love

Overall, the best "multiplatform" solution I've found so far, but would love better integration with Moxfield and MTGA.

Loved the app when I was able too use it

I have tried every thing restart, to re-download but nothing seems to work. One day out of the blue the app won’t open if this can be fixed I will change my rating.

Best overall scanner I’ve used, some issues to iron out

I love the scanner on this app, by far it works the best of any that I’ve tried. That said, it will still occasionally just not be able to pick up some cards (usually black ones for some reason) which can be a little frustrating but overall very easy to use. I do have some feedback that I hope future versions can incorporate. The scanner appears to put a great deal of stress on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, the phone gets very warm when scanning lots of cards and occasionally the app will just crash in the middle of a big scanning bunch and delete my recent progress which is annoying. There is a weird bug when adding cards from your collection to a deck, it will forget if you added a foil or regular card so you need to manually change all your decks foils to indicate that, also for some reason in a deck it will show the price of a regular and a foil added together until you refresh the card. Some card versions such as the new etched foils are not shown as being different from regular foils, and also old bordered foils from the recent MH2 set are bugged and their prices are 0.00. From a layout perspective there is a lot of good going on but I would like more condensed options like a true list format with no images. Even the smaller “list with small icons” only lets me see like 3 cards at a time. I would also like a more robust method of tracking my collection on a per set basis. Being able to see what cards I’m missing from a given set, what percentage I’ve collected etc. would be helpful. Lastly I don’t think the Discover pane adds much to the experience currently. I don’t need the app to tell me about new cards coming out and the remainder of it is just fluff. Current deck metas imported from goldfish or EDHREC or even recent price movements a la mtgstocks would be a better use of that space in my opinion. Overall though, great app and worth the few bucks to me to pay for a good scanner but it needs some more work to be my main deck collection resource.

Un scannable

This would be cool if you could scan physical cards by looking at them with the Vision Pro, but it doesn’t do that you have to search for them by name

So far great

I have sat here for the better part of 1.5 hours downloading and trying scanner apps. So far this is the only one that has worked. I have scanned 7 cards. Some where sleeved, non-sleeved and non-sleeved but in a binder. All scanned with 0 issues. Once I complete the rest of the 50 free scans I will update if I decided to go premium. Edit…. Concerns Should be able to turn off multi capture Scanner will capture cards at the most awkward angle but will have huge issues trying to capture some cards that are directly in front of the camera. Outside those concerns still a solid 4 of 5 stars. Edit 2…. Where are you getting your prices from? They’re all over the place when you compare them to TCG. EDIT……If I’m supposed to be able to create a personalized deck in this app it doesn’t work. I click add and nothing happens.
