5 STARS FOR THE WATCH! 3 STARS FOR REGISTERING THE WATCH! I love my new Citizen Eco-Drive two tone bracelet watch. It is beautiful and just what I was hoping for, it is perfect! I love the beautiful dial, the date, the second hand dial, I love that it is all stainless steel, and I love that I can see the time in the dark! I wanted that option and was pleasantly surprised that my watch has that feature. I especially love that this watch is Eco-Drive meaning the battery charges by any kind of light! No more batteries running out of juice, and no more having to replace the battery! Registering was difficult .. for me. I was not able to add my watch case number as I was not able to type on that line!? Also I am not comfortable giving anyone access to my photos so I was not able to add a screen shot of my purchase receipt. There should be a way to attach a photo without giving access to my photo library! I was able to register my watch so my warranty is in place. I love everything about this watch. Thank you Citizen!
I bought this watch at EZ Pawn in Spring Texas. I paid $90 for it , then I took to Kay Jewelers in the Woolands and they charged me $ 43 to recharge it under a light Machine and then it was recalibrated, timed and set . Before that I cleaned it and polished i I downloaded the E650 manual so I knew it was too low a charge . That is why I could not set it. I love this watch and it is my EDC. Kay Jewelers appraised it at $650 . It is written on the receipt. I can afford this watch and I plan on buying another Citizen . They are a great investment. I may get a Satellite, I am not sure but I do like Titanium watches. I am proud of this watch. I will not sell it nor will give it to anyone. This watch is a gift from God. The pawn shop did not know what the value was when they priced it. I am definitely a Citizen Customer. This watch will hold its value. I want more, but I am happy to own this watch . I would like more information about the history of the watch and who owned it. Is my watch under warranty? Great epic product. I wear it 24/7!!! Ok
This is my second Citizen eco-drive watch, I still have the first one which I purchased back in. I believe it was 2000 and it still runs perfectly. It’s just that I bought this new one because it had new features and it was more in style than the older one with a bigger, bezel, Anna, and a bigger body, and, a better clasp. Both are titanium. Neither has a scratch on it and the first one I have used and used in abused even while snorkeling and bumping against cool reefs and stuff. There’s still not a scratch on the crystal over the body of the watch, the new one, which I have abuse even worse. They never lose a minute of time, I’ve got them set according to the atomic clock what you said to my MacBook Pro and I compare them sometimes in there exactly to the second. I’m very very happy with both. Thank you for your good progress, exceptional products.
I absolutely love this watch for the looks, the quality and the craftsmanship. It fits my wrist perfectly and I know that one day, I'll be passing it down to my son. The beautiful dark sea blue dial at times looks black in certain lighting. I could have spent thousands more for another brand but it would have been a waste of money because this time piece is certified to 200meters and the craftsmanship of the stainless case and bracelet is excellent.
Instructions included with the watch require you to register your product online or on an app to see the real manual. Activating your email sends a link that goes to their store page so you can buy another watch. After numerous, frustrating attempts I logged feedback and requested support on 2/14 on their website. 2/19 and no email or call back. Today registration took a different turn. 3 activation emails were sent. The first two were expired and the third one reopened the app and seemed to do something, but the activation button was still on the app. You have to hit the button, completely close the app, the select the third email, click on the link, then the app will open and allow you to register your device and activate your warranty. Also you can now view instructions without completing the registration process. If their watch is twice as good as their support or app, then it’s definitely not worth it. I’m still waiting for a callback.
I like the idea having your watch info and proof of purchase within the app, getting and extra year of warranty, etc; however, registration process was a little bit hard because I had problems scanning the back of my watch and read the numbers, then continued telling me the models number and serial numbers were not matching, even thought I was providing the info that was on the back of my watch. Finally I was able to do It entering manually the caliber and case number but gave me a different serial number. I needed up going to the website and registering my watch there and was easier and got a confirmation email. Perhaps Citizen should update database and scanning process, other than that I like it
For a company that produces such beautiful watches they sure need instruction for how to produce a functional app. As someone in IT, I would have fired the entire team that produced this glitchy mess. First of all, none of the numbers on the tag matched the watch (this might have been Amazon’s fault), so with zero instructions I find myself googling to figure out which numbers mean what on the back of the watch. Some my ask “why didn’t you use the feature to take a picture of the watch back?”. I did, but that feature doesn’t work and is garbage. I finally find my watch in the app using the movement and case number. I try to register. The serial number is blank. So since there’s no way to enter a serial number to a watch you’ve already added I’m forced to delete the watch and re-add using the serial and model (which required more googling). After all that I try to register again. I get almost to the end. I try to enter a picture of the comfirmation order and BOOM, the app crashes! UNACCEPTABLE! I managed (after 45 minutes) to register. Is this the point of the app? REALLY?! No stars if that was an option.
Citizen doesn’t include a paper manual, which is fine. Yet, the instructions in the app are a PDF document. If you’re not printing instructions, why have a PDF manual? They’re difficult to read on a phone. Even though you can scan the tag or box so they know the exact watch you have, you have to read a manual that includes the different types of model variations, like you’re reading a car manual. I can replace most of the function of the app by simply downloading the PDF into my phone. And that has the advantage of being able to perform a search within the PDF which the app doesn’t allow.
Every time I tried to activate my account, I would click on my personal email to authenticate my request and then it said it expired. 5x. After putting down the phone and trying again later to regain my composer, I was able to click the email and it worked. So far so good and then it asked me to attach the receipt to activate the warranty and after giving it permission to access my photo library so I can select the photos, the app simply closes. Absolutely frustrating experience and honestly, I am now upset I purchased the watch. Maybe in a day or two I will feel differently and may want to actually wear the watch, but the set-up and warranty activation were a nightmare because of the app.
App seems to serve only one purpose and that is to register a new Citizen watch. Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize data from watch back or box upc label. So, after several attempts I gave up trying to capture the model and serial numbers and entered the information manually. Then, you are prompted to register the watch for warranty authorization. I made several attempts to connect with Citizen using app, and every time the app craps out and says a connection to server failed. A pop up window asks me to make sure I have a strong internet connection, as if the problem is entirely my fault! Offering an app that is essentially useless for the one job it has to do doesn't reflect well on the company.
The first watch I owned way back 10 years ago what is a citizen Eco drive. And now I’m back at it is simply amazing, to own a watch made by Citizen that derives by solar energy and for people like me no hassle no trouble of changing the batteries I’m simply in love with this watch when I unboxed it and I looked at it I was madly in love and after a very long long time it’s a gift for me on my birthday thank you citizen for the amazing Eco drive technology
App is a little buggy and not best client experience
Using the app for the first time and had to restart my phone before I could use the app. Then the activation email wouldn’t trigger the app to register it just kept launching the Citizen website into a new browser window. Took much longer than expected. I liked the video tutorial but wish there was more than one video
I just got a new Citizen watch for my birthday and I downloaded the app to register it but no matter what information I entered, the watch wasn’t found! The closest watch I could find to mine was a completely different color. The only thing that was the same was the watch face design. I entered Model number, serial number, case number, etc. and nothing worked. Then I closed the app, reloaded it, and now it’s giving me a (500 server error and I’m unable to open it. I’m frustrated as hell.
My wife ordered me this watch for Christmas and I have to say it’s amazing quality. The customized engraving on the back makes this a perfect meaningful gift. I place so much passion and time into my profession and you can tell that this company does the same thing into their product. Wife had nothing but positive things to say about the company. Also it goes along way to have the 5 year warranty that comes with the watch. Thank you
I am a horologist & watch collector. I currently own 2 Citizen timepieces that I was able to register on the awesome My Citizen app. Great website, but a little difficult to navigate until you try it several times. If you are unable to load your watches, keep trying eventually it works. Over the years, I have come to greatly appreciate Citizen timepieces as modern stylish high quality products. If someone comments on my Citizen as a low-end Mall watch, I inform them that Citizen makes the MOST ACCURATE timepiece in the world. Trying to change this perception, one potential new customer at a time 👊🏻 Thanks for staying ahead of the curve.
My father had a similar watch by Citizen. Black (it looked like a black crocodile watch strap), with a gold frame, black watch face, no numbers, a long time ago. When he passed away it was on the seven o clock time. It was one of those watches that needed a battery. So I just got the new one from the website to honor him. Thanks, citizen! I love my new watch. :)
I recently purchased a watch and wanted to register for the warranty as I saw you get an extra year warranty if you register online, so why not? I quickly downloaded the app and found it easy to register and scan my receipt into the app. Love having all my watch details, warranty, and setting instructions in one place. Thank you Citizen!
Terrible instructions on how to register for the warranty! You’re asked for; Case Number Model Number Serial Number Caliber Number What they don’t tell you; To add or not add a hyphen Which letters to capitalize Where to add a space Now keep in mind that this is the step after not being able to scan your “unique” barcode! I have the watches tag, the boxes barcodes, and the proof of purchase paperwork and ALL of them have subtle differences in all of the number examples I have stated above. If I was one that believed in these conspiracy theories I would lean towards Citizen wanting to frustrate the consumer in giving up on trying to register for their warranty? There are other embedded numbers that theorist’s could have a field day with. In conclusion I understand in having to secure your expensive purchase however not to the point where the end user can’t register their purchase!
I received the watch as a gift & was surprised to find no instructions accompanying it. A small card inside the box stated that you could use the app to get them. I installed the app on an iPhone 12 and went through the registration process. However, after numerous failed attempts to receive a verification email I gave up. By the time that I’m actually able to register this watch the extended warranty that you get for doing so will have expired anyway. Citizen make a great watch but need to fire whoever it is that wrote their completely trash app.
Citizen, your products are great, but your app definitely is lacking the same amount of detail as your time pieces. The confirmation of email wouldn’t allow me to confirm through my email, but rather I needed to use my Google account. If that is a necessity, don’t give the option to continuously send email verifications, and rather direct them to use their Google account. Identifying the watch and setting up the actual registering of the watch was fine, but creating and verifying the account and the rest was very clunky.

I love my new Citizen’s Watch, from the quality, the timeless look, craftsmanship, and the high technology within the watch, nothing can compare for the price. Not to mention the outstanding warranty that comes with it, & the interactive app that helps complement the user friendly interface.
The application itself is very nice, easy to use. Awesome to see all the watches you have purchased, however after a few days it will reset on me. Every watch that I have entered in will have disappeared and my account needs a new verification email. I hope they fix this, it has happened to me four times before I ended up saying "Forget it" and deleting the app. Nonetheless a great app, just a tad buggy.
The USMA Association of Graduates advertised this watch in their quarterly publication. I purchased the watch and it was properly engraved and shipped in record time!! I’m wearing this military style watch daily. It’s durable and very attractive with that ‘military’ look and I’m so glad I purchased. It keeps very precise time. I highly recommend this watch!! Purchased my Brycen watch coming up on two years ago and love it! I’m brutal on watches and with sapphire crystal and lightweight titanium band it still looks great and keeps on ticking! I only wish the crown was a lockdown type of crown as it makes me a bit nervous getting the watch wet other than that, really good looking watch and keeps perfect time! I am now a fan of Citizen watches!
The watch band is too large for my wrist, and no tools or instruction were provided. So now it appears I will have to find a jeweler that will make the adjustment. And pay to have it done. I am 75 years old and have wanted a Citizen watch for many years. Now I have one, and it doesn’t fit. Maybe I should have stuck with a cheep watch.
Trying to register my new citizen watch, and this app is not user friendly at all. I’ve had to input the serial number about 23 different times because every time I try to load the receipt it deletes the serial number field. And although I’ve filled out everything in order to complete the registration, the button never highlights for me to click complete registration. So my watch still isn’t registered. But at least I can access the instructions to my watch in this app, I guess
I collect watches; mainly automatics and wanted a watch with accurate time all the time that would help me on calibrating all of them when needed. I was also looking for a clean dial, easy perpetual calendar setup at a good price point and I found it on this watch. The beauty of the striated dial was a real surprise; as it refracts the sun light in a colorful show on the dial!
After nearly 29 years in law enforcement, tonight I was honored at our department Christmas party with my personalized Thin Blue Line Citizen watch. Having owned a Citizen E820 for a few years and being a person who likes stylish watches, I was very surprised and pleased with this gift. I will proudly wear it to remind me of the wonderful career I’ve had and the wonderful staff I worked with.
It’s a great concept, but can’t find all of my watches. It seemed like older/discontinued styles and Japanese models (ie. Happy Flight XC) are not able to be found. Plus the app randomly will boot you out and the only way back in is to put in your email address for them to send you an authorization. A proper sign-in with password would be better. Other than that it’s great. I hope they can fix these issues.
Excellent watch a little difficult to get the manual for it comes out kind of small on the screen. Would like to see you in improvement on that otherwise everything is excellent. Thank you.
This watch has too much inside for the EcoDrive to handle. This is the only Citizen watch I’ve own that doesn’t keep perfect time. All the rest have been almost as spot on as my computer or my smart phone.
Every time my wife and I take a cruise I buy a Citizen watch. Either on the ship or off the ship! I love all my Citizen watch’s. I believe Citizen watches are some of the finest watches a person can buy. And, I have bought some every expensive European watches that have turned out to be junk.
Very little if any value! Scan function does not work! Had to put in everything manually. I have 3 Citizen Eco-Drive Watches. After keying all the information in manually, the app works for 2. For the 3rd a message pops up stating no such watch exists. Apparently the database is incomplete. Another issue is registering the watches, a receipt is required. That requirement does not take into account the watch being given as a gift. Receipts don’t usually accompany a gift.
I bought the watch thinking it was a dive watch because it is in a dive case. I find out it has a mineral crystal and is not recommended for diving. However, I do like it that it has a long life span when properly charged in sunlight. It just doesn’t seem as robust as perhaps a Heur. Time will tell if it ends up at the bottom of the ocean as a boat anchor.
Soo difficult to use add then... for what. The photo option would not work. With the band there is not enough room to photograph the back so it doesn’t work. Finally enter all the info and try to register and it sends me an email but does nothing. Continually asks me to register. There is no where on-line or on the app to see what you’ve registered and there is no where to take a picture of my receipt like other commenters have said they did. The manual is hard to read. Yuck yuck
The new update is a big improvement. Being able to add my watch collection using the barcode was much easier than scanning the watch back. Great job Citizen team. Thanks for listening to our feedback!
Since the watch doesn’t come with a manual and directs you to download the app to access the manual, I downloaded the app. App requires you to submit your email and a link to activate is sent to your email. Unfortunately clicking the link in the email does nothing rendering the app useless and the manual not available in it. I’m sure some googling will get me the manual but the recommended process to get the manual is fruitless.
I entered my watch information and found the correct model but I can’t activate my warranty. Every time I try to authentic my email, I receive the email and click on the link, but it just takes me to the website. I then tried going back to the app but nothing happens. I also tried making an account and then retried to activate my warranty but when I click on the link, nothing happens, it just takes me to the website.
I’m tough on watches and have no desire to change batteries nor setting the date. This one is about perfect and attractive to look at. Next Citizen Watch will have Atomic Clock setting. Can’t wait. :)
Watches are great. App is horrible. Doesn’t scan barcode or back of the watch. Getting to the menu options is nearly impossible because the photo button covers the option selections for different ways to register your watch, making it impossible to scroll and select options.
Absolutely beautiful watch, my wife got me this watch for Valentine’s Day. It is the nicest watch I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned several watches. The watch is heavy, but not uncomfortable, visually stunning, and the quality is outstanding. I could not be happier.
I have worn Citizen Eco Drive watches for many years. I have never had a problem with them even though being a firefighter and putting everything through the worst possible conditions.
Very nice watch. I like that I don’t have to set too many things. The only minus is I wish the background was black instead of dark brown. I think that would make it easier to see the hands.
Summary: App can't identify the watch itself and won't use the manually entered information, rendering it useless Gave a new Eco-Drive watch as a gift, and noticed later that the recipient was not wearing a watch. Turns out they couldn't get the app to recognize the watch and gave up. "Here, let me try," I said, assuming they were just #DoingItWrong. Nope, it's not user error, it's developer error. The app doesn't substitute for a manual, especially if the app doesn't work. My own experience with a much older Eco-Drive watch has been perfect, and I bet this watch is at least as good, but it's going to be returned ... not because the watch is bad, but because this app is.
Everything on the watch is excellent. Only complaint is that there is no hard copy of the manual included and the online copy doesn’t tell you how to use the world timer settings.
My boyfriend and I were on the search for me a perfect time piece that is classy, elegant, useful for daily wear as well as when going out. It is thin and feels good on my wrist, plus is the perfect weight. It feels more like you are wearing a bracelet. This is a great time piece for any lady.
I I like it very much with the way you can set it now it’s a lot easier to sit in the watch that I have so thank you again have a great day and I appreciate your help
I’m not one to leave reviews but thought this might be helpful feedback. I was able to enter my email and receive the registration link, however the link just took me to the home page of the website, never back to the app. I tried resending multiple times and using both safari and google chrome with no success.
