Generally this app does what it is intended to do and is useful for scheduling, even with more than one volunteer facility. However with a recent iOS update the app crashes when you try to add a scheduled event to your calendar. Please fix! Also it is not obvious how you delete an event once you are signed up. I found it once but can’t find it again.
I am updating this review. The link provided by the devs worked to merge my profiles. It is so much easier now! Thanks devs! I have been using this app for a few months since the organization I volunteer at switched to the Better Impact system. I like that I can start and stop the clock from my app, so I don’t have to deal with the temperamental tablet provided for us. Well, another organization I volunteer at has migrated over to Better Impact. I now have two accounts (and at some point maybe 3). I wish this was like the reddit app, where you can easily switch between multiple accounts. Instead, I have to log in and log out. This confuses my phone as far as autofill goes. That means for one account I have to type in my password every time. I use strong passwords, not memorable ones, so it’s a real pain. This system seems widely used, I can’t be the only one with multiple accounts. Other than that, it’s fine.
I gave this app 1 star only because negative stars are not permitted. This app was foisted on California Parks Department staff and in turn onto volunteers. It is billed as a productivity tool. But, there have been countless hours wasted attempting to get this junk implemented. And not just in our local district, but statewide, according to my well-placed sources. “Productivity improvement” is an oxymoron. Improved productivity is a bill of goods sold to fools in Sacramento — who apparently share the same bureaucratic mindlessness as the CA Department of Motor Vehicles, who spent $250 million or so on a computer system that failed. My time has been wasted repeatedly trying to get this shameful product to work. The lack of support for local staff and volunteers is appalling. I do not have the polite language to express how detested this woeful product is among users, who have no choice regarding its use.
They must have worked out all the kinks from the past reviews because I selected the link from my Better Impact log in page, downloaded the app, signed in, and immediate was able to see all of my volunteer opportunities. Signing up was such a breeze! I also like how you can start your volunteer time on the front page. It is so much easier to use than their actual website!
I tutor two adults. When I use the Hours feature, it correctly displays both students. However, when I chose one and log date and number of hours, it incorrectly stores the data to the non selected student. I then return to log hours on the second student and - here’s where it gets weirder - the student I previously chose is again active and the student I did not select is gone.
After 4 1/2 days of trying to get this stupid app to work, it still won’t do what it is supposed to. All I can do it update my contact and change my profile picture. After discussing this with the organization that I want to volunteer with, they can’t figure out how to fix it either. I wouldn’t recommend using this app. If I could give it negative stars, I would.
I created an account several weeks ago before I left for vacation and now I cannot get in. Our guest services person filled in my volunteer hours last week. Now I try to enter for this week and am unable to do so. I never get the email notice when filling out the form for forgotten usernames/passwords! Terrible app!
I can’t get into my app. From inside the app, I went to the site guide on myimpact.com, the browser. I am stuck on the website and cant get into the mobile app. Ive tried reloading the app. When I click on open it takes me back to this Site Guide website. How can I get into the mobile app to see my hours, opportunities?
I have an iPhone 12, this doesn’t work with my phone. It has a page that says hi- plus (my name!). But, this is the only function I can see. I am reasonably good with technology. This site is not working. Please fix for iPhone 12. Thank you
When I log in successfully, the home page says welcome along with my name, but it is entirely BLANK. There is no way to navigate to any page that allows signing up to volunteer.
Website tells you to download app or use mobile site. Any link you click in the app or mobile site takes you back to the full site. Very poor design and ui.
I have been using MyImpact for several years to sign up for volunteer shifts at a draft horse rescue (Gentle Giants). Mostly it has worked well and has used the Apple phone facial recognition features to populate the username and password, giving me quick access. However, it has completely shut me out of the app three times. The username and password will suddenly not work at all. If I request to change the username or password, it promises to send me an email with instructions to reconnect, but the email never arrives (multiple tries). Each time, the administrator in my organization has to go to the account herself and somehow set me up again. I don’t think this is how it is supposed to work. I might blame myself or the phone, but this only happens on this app and I have been very careful to make sure my entries are correct. If you can identify what I am doing wrong, please let me know so I can correct it. Or, please do something about the app! Thank you. Ermon Vandy
I also give this 1 star. I’ve downloaded the iPhone version and the iPad version and neither one offers me any options to see volunteer opportunities or anything else. I only get to update my profile or log out. Totally frustrating!
