Horrible Customer Service
Why did you all update to a new app? The old app was fine, lately since Memorial Day my balance has gone up over $500, and then gone down to negative -$300 and it does this every other couple of days. Now all of my transactions in the last 2 weeks say i made all of these yesterday and my account is negative again. I called my bank location in Media, PA and Ramona who’s usually nice hung up on me saying to call the 888 since they can’t do anything about it. I wasn’t speaking loud, or disrespectful and i was hung on up. I’ve been with your company 6 years almost and this does it. I no longer am going to bank with you and if this isn’t fixed ASAP I’ll call the newspaper, news, better business bureau & report you! These days you can’t get away with horrible business practices, social media will make sure of that. LUCKILY one other lady from a different place has said this has been going on non stop in the last 4 weeks and she will have “someone call me back” FIX IT ASAP!

So you changed the app in the summer, it’s now almost October and there are still constant issues with the app. Everyday I try to use card management it’s like taking a chance on whether the app with work or not. This app still has serious issues months later. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to go the republic bank to try and get these issues resolved. It’s always the same answer everytime too. I hate to be this person, I never even write reviews but this bank has been such an inconvenience. I had no issues up until this app was changed, none whatsoever. Again I hate to be a Karen and say things like “you just lost a customer” because I know you don’t care and it’s an entitled statement, but I’m sure I’m not the only person who will be switching banks because of this app. I hope you reconsider going back to the old app or changing this one because it’s extremely flawed. Sure technology isn’t perfect but I’ve had about 15+ instances over the past several months where I have had issues with this app. I tried waiting to see if they would resolve it over time as it was a new app but I see that won’t be happening anytime soon. Just beware if you’re considering switching to this bank that the app is no bueno.

Best Banking App
Republic bank is the former Commerce bank of New Jersey and was one of the best banks ever. when I heard that the owner was opening a new bank I am I mediately found out what the name of the bank was going to be and counted down the days until the bank was open. I made my initial deposit opening day. The app is easy to use has very few bugs and the customer service is top notch and number one in my book. Weather on the app or in person the customer service is a pleasure to deal with.

terrible update
this update has caused me nothing but stress and disappointment. the old app was extremely easy to use, look at, and understand. the new one is not only offensive/headache inducing (seriously, does no one there think about how colors/font look and how that effects user experience???), but impossible to navigate, slow, and lacking some extremely important features. one of my main reasons for loving republic was how much of an upgrade the app felt like after being with TD. now i have to give their also terrible app a jealous look because it’s simply better. additionally, why was the feature removed for allowing users to change the name displayed in-app? as a transgender user, that was something that made my life so much easier and better, and not only did it remove my chosen name, i cannot find any way to change it back. this app now makes it unreasonably difficult to track my finances and i see absolutely no benefit. the absolute least that could be done is to allow a change in font and color. but at that point, just bring back the old app. looking at the recent review history, your users are clearly unhappy.

not ideal banking app for minors needing parents as Primary on Account
My 14 year old son was totally disappointed after he had been led to believe for over a week that he could have his own sign on ID to view his transactions. Though he has a app to log on to he can not view his account . He is a gamer and wanted to be able to transfer money from his online only bank account to his Republic Bank Account and be able to confirm and properly access his funds were correctly entered. Apparently this is not possible for a Netteller online account due to his age . However his same aged sister and his friends all have accounts viewable online under their own sign on ID and managed under a parents ID at other major bank institutions using an app.

Supervisor who was angry because she was on the phone
Calling after the most recent update 23.1.0 to the mobile app, as a result of an error message, I needed my User ID. I was advised of this after being directed to delete the mobile app. When I asked her what was the update version that I should be running, she advised I would see it once I logged in. Her annoyance of having to take calls was extremely apparent. Once she fully verified me, she asked me to GUESS my USER ID! Why?? When I asked to speak with a supervisor she advised she was the “evening supervisor”. I told her it should NOT be evident to the customer that you are annoyed because you have to take calls. UNREAL! I called a second time, and while the agent was polite, I still have the error message! SMH

Problems being logged out
In certain areas within the app, I get automatically logged out. This typically happens when I’ve tried to use Zell or money transfers I’ll get to the point where I enter all of my information hit the next step and then it brings me to a login screen. I enter my credentials again and it brings me back to the initial screen like I just logged in and haven’t been doing anything prior to that. This is not a new problem. It’s been going on for at least four months and is still an ongoing problem

Great useful app
Love the app, can deposit checks very easily and quickly…the customer service of the bank is superb and very friendly…rates are also decent for the economic climate…would recommend using Republic Bank, and also to use the app to conveniently complete 99% of their banking in seconds. Thanks for setting the bar so high with your service and culture at your bank Reublic, will be staying a customer for life!

Technology Failure
The old banking app was mediocre at best. The old website was horrible. The migration to their “technology upgrade” crashed and burned like the Hindenburg. The new website is actually less intuitive than their old (who’d have thought that was possible) and content like external transfers didn’t convert properly. Card management is gone. The app will not allow you to login if your cellphone was not your home phone number because it wants to send a confirmation text to your primary phone number. Complete failure.

Bank to Bank transfer error in new app
I have a business checking account and service at the Republic bank has always been great. However, this is a review for their recently updated banking app. Bank transfers to and from external bank accounts were fine before the upgrade. Now I’m getting errors upon trying to transfer funds stating that I need a valid first name as well as valid date of birth. These two error messages are preventing me from using the app to make bank to bank transfers which has caused me inconvenience.

New app thumbs Down
I have had so much trouble with this new app. I can’t get on to bill pay and it’s been 2 weeks! I pay all my bills over the app. I called the help line and no one can help. I’m so frustrated and it’s not like I can go into the bank cause they close at 5pm I don’t get home till 5:30pm so now I have to wait till Saturday to see if they can help me. Just please get it fixed!

Way better than the old app
This new app is great. It shows a much longer history of recent transactions and it also seems better linked to that payees I have already set up in the website version of online banking. All of the payees are now shared with the app whereas before in the old app, I had to maintain a separate list. I have not tried remote deposit in the new app yet.

Old App Was Best Banking App. New One is The Worst
Title says it all. The old version of this app was amazing. I suggested people switch to republic bank just because of it. This new version is terrible. It’s slow, extremely unorganized, unresponsive, and visually unappealing. Not to mention the features that were taken away, like being able to label and comment on transactions. Without those features, I’m not sure I can use Republic Bank for my businesses anymore. Happening right now: I can’t actually see the text of this review in app. it’s just white text on a white background. Hopefully everything is spelled right!

Perpetual Bug when Depositing
I cannot reliably deposit checks via mobile because either the camera outline is offset and requires multiple captures of the check to fit and become readable or the app signs me out after each shot of the check, never getting to the completion of the deposit. I continue to be met with the solution of deleting the app and re downloading which is a major BUG. Please fix these very basic UX issues. As a customer you give no other choice but to use this very buggy app.

Having an issue
With the old version/app in the drop down there was a logout option in the new app/updated version I can’t seem to find the logout button/option when I’m done. Can someone please help me with finding out how to log out because I don’t want to stay logged in, don’t feel safe staying logged in. Thank you in advance with any help

Ever since the most recent update, when I try to do a mobile deposit, the app crashes. Is this a thing? I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but it still crashes when I try to do a mobile deposit.

Terrible
There was no reason to change the app. This is also my second debit card in a year despite not having any issues with fraud or compromises or anything so now I have to change all my debit card info AGAIN for accounts I just updated. Also I can’t pay my credit card bill through the app anymore without getting taken to another website that’s confusing and hard to use? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. There was no reason to update to a worse system. Thanks a lot

Not good
More times than not this app is not synched to the account, not giving the latest information that one might need. “Oops something went wrong on our end” is the message that comes up. Changes need to be made for this app to be better. Very disappointing.

Terms and Conditions
I can’t get past the terms and conditions page to look at my accounts and check bill pay. There is no way to acknowledge that you read the terms and conditions. I hope they fix this glitch soon.

Virtual deposit.
Tried six times before the check was excepted for a deposit. Follow instructions correctly on a dark surface and it’s still did not work finally after the seventh try it was deposited.

Staff
The Bank is convenient to my location. On the other hand I had several bad experiences with the staff. Very unprofessional and rude staff. They need more inservice on customer service. I also applied for a secured credit card during the time I was trying to repair my credit, I was denied although I had more than enough money in my account. I sense some prejudice in that establishment.

Super buggy app!!
It worked fine for a long time then after one of the recent updates it started crashing constantly. If I spend more than a few minutes in the app it throws up a “Page not found This connection is untrusted “ warning and when I click “retry” nothing happens. Just keeps popping up the same warning. This is infuriating to say the least. If this doesn’t get fixed I will be taking my business to another bank.

I’m always having issues
at least once a month I’m getting a message saying that there’s an issue with my bank. there’s been times where I didn’t even know how much money I had for D A Y S and I’d get scared my account was locked only for it to be fine the next couple of days later. please fix these bugs. otherwise the app is great

The app works great for the most part. My only issue resides in the alter function not working. I’ve tried a few times to setup the alerts to notify me when my account gets below a certain threshold (debited transactional well as a notification that alerts me when’s certain amount is credited. Neither alert works.. alert

New interface is awful
They went from a sleek, intuitive and easy to use interface to one that looks and operates as though it’s from 2007. A complete downgrade that I am absolutely dissatisfied with, it’s confusing, cumbersome, and holy cannoli is it SLOW! It’s harder and more confusing to navigate to different sections of the app and the balance identifier is very confusing, do I have $150 or $300 in my account? Don’t put them right on top of each other for gods sake.

I don’t know how but they managed to actually do three steps back with their new app interface. It feels like one of those apps that’s are just a web browser… The interface before this was a lot more clean and felt like an actual APP and not a app that feels it directs you to a mobile version of the browser. Hope they continue to update it

Every time I have an issue the Mt. Holly branch of this bank does nothing but go out of their way to help me special thanks to Christian!! The bank people are all awesome New bank app stinks. Not as user friendly as old app.

Every time I try to open my app. It makes me put all my information back in again, then it doesn’t except my password. When I try to change it it tells me I can’t use the same password. Then why is it that it didn’t except it in the first place…

No more dark mode!
This new version is a total sh**show! This used to switch to dark mode according to your phones settings. Now it doesn't. The PIN system was also a lot better and easier. Why remove two great features? Whoever made these changes and redesigned this app must've been high on something because no sober person would look at this new version and think, "yep that looks great!"

The old version was better
The app doesn't update my transactions the same as the old one, one minute I have less money, than the next I have more with no transactions made and there's no fraudulent activity going on. I hate how I don't know what my balance really is, especially living pay to pay, hopedully this gets fixed

So upset that republic does not have real time acct balance updates, with all the technology out there and all of the customers and businesses that run throughout republic bank I’m pretty sure they can update their infrastructure to accommodate all of their customers because I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way and definitely not the only one who expressed it either!!!

This Bank Rocks
The new version of the app is just phenomenal! So easy and comprehensive - far superior than any of the majors like BofA, PNC, etc. And add to it the branches have hours 7 days a week! Watch out Big Banks if you live or work near a Republic branch it’s a no-brainer...

Many features not available
Cannot do many basic features that every other banking app has. The app frequently gives an error message that it could not connect to the server. Cannot add payees from the app. Cannot access zelle through the app. Your balance does not update as fast as the actual site does. Wondering if i need a new bank and new app or if just someone else needs to make the app.

Error messages
Nothing but more more error messages! Can’t use face id to log in! Can’t deposit a check! It’s been 5 months since there has been an update and last one before that was a year ago! Ever since this app changed a year ago it has been terrible!!! Developer has done NOTHING TO FIX IT!! This is like my 4th review! And I have called!

Love Republic Bank
I love my Republic Bank in Jenkintown, PA!!! The bank employees greet me with much enthusiasm each “in person” visit and know my first name! So happy I chose this bank when I moved to PA a few years ago!!!

An update nobody needed
This last update really went the other way. You can’t even download the updated app if you’re overseas traveling because of region issues. I’d say bring the old app back. Response to developer response: This still does not solve the region issue. If one of your customers is overseas on vacation and needs to download the app, they can’t.
